Three women of a certain age take a deep dive into one of our secret loves - Hallmark movies.
All the Feels Hallmark Fancast
We're back, baby! In this episode, Dory, Mel, and Erika unveil the 2022 All The Feels Holiday Movie Bracket. Which Hallmark movies will be competing for the top spot? Will Lifetime be back on the bracket after a disappointing showing last year? Is a new network coming for Hallmark's crown? We have so much to discuss, so pour yourself a cup of hot cocoa, sit back, relax, and join us as we start the holiday season off right.
The final bracket match-up of the season is here and a true Hallmark expert is in the house! Joining the ladies is Bubbly Sesh host Shawl and we have a Dickens! of a time choosing between the sizzling Polaha-D'Orsay chemistry in "A Dickens of a Holiday!" and the charismatic party planning/Queen of Dory's heart Ashley Williams in "Sister Swap: Christmas in the City". Then, in a rapid fire elimination round, Dory, Mel, and Erika crown a 2021 winner. It's a bloodbath, folks.
After swapping out Lifetime movies for Hallmark in the last two bracket battles, Dory, Mel and Erika match up Our Christmas Journey vs Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday. Come for the reviews and stay for a hodgepodge of other topics including indoor Christmas tree lots, tap dancing, expired vision boards and a mispronunciation that brings the ladies to tears!
Dory, Mel and Erika assemble once again to discuss their week six bracket matchup, featuring Merry Liddle Christmas Baby vs. Miracle in Motor City. Expect lots of rants and lots of laughs as the ladies are joined by their friend Ryan, who shares his experience as a contestant on Wheel of Fortune and his hopes for one day competing on Survivor.
The first Lifetime match-up of the bracket brings the ladies a ballet dancing widow, fruitcake rebranding woes, and tons of befuddlement, annoyance, and concern about the many Lifetime movies that lay before them. Dancing Through the Snow takes on Baking Spirits Bright, one barely eking out a win to the next round of the All The Feels Christmas Movie Bracket. Other topics include Hallmark's A Kiss Before Christmas, Every Time a Bell Rings, and the onslaught of Hallmark premieres coming up post-Thanksgiving slumber. Also, Adele.
The ladies welcome back friend of the pod, Kevin and together, they battle One December Night vs. A Holiday in Harlem in this week's bracket. Plus there's talks of a cross-country RV trip, applauding representation and an epic Christmas fashion show!
This week's matchup is Next Stop, Christmas vs. A Christmas Treasure, which both aired on the Hallmark Channel. In this episode, Mel gives us a rant for the ages while Dory and Erika fight about time travel. This is one you don't want to miss!
It's Round 2 of the All the Feels Holiday movie bracket match up, where Hallmark's Christmas in Harmony and Christmas Sail battle to win our hearts. In a Halloween weekend full of gospel choirs, magical boat parades, lovers to enemies, friends to lovers, Terry O'Quinn, buckets of grief, and 1/3rd of Destiny's Child...the choice proves to be a difficult one. Plus, Dory and Erika discuss their all time favorite Christmas songs, because why the heck not.
We're skipping right past the witches, skeletons, jack o'lanterns and breaking out the reindeer, snowmen and Santas because it's week one of the All The Feels Holiday bracket! We got ex-boyfriends in the form of ghosts battling undercover detectives but only one movie will move ahead. Aaaaaaand, thanks to changing air dates, we already have some revisions to the bracket (ugh!) but we think it actually might be for the best!
It's the most wonderful time of the year! In this episode, Dory, Mel and Erika reunite to hash out their 2021 All The Feels Holiday Movie Bracket. Will a Hallmark or Lifetime movie will come out on top? Watch along with us to find out!
Something wicked this way comes as the ladies gather pre-Halloween and pre-Christmas kick-off to address all of the drama swirling through the Hallmark-verse. Topics include the Curious Case of the Good Witch finale, the Christmas TV Movie Wars, cheerful anti-vaxxers, and which Hallmark pups are most favored by Dory's dog, Zero. Warning: Two F-bombs are dropped within the first 2-minutes so mark this episode NOT SAFE or FAMILY FRIENDLY for the children.
Our friend Antonio Cayonne is back! In this episode, he joins Dory and Mel to discuss his new movie for Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, The Vows We Keep. The ladies also talk to Antonio about his experience on The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, diversity and inclusion efforts in the entertainment industry, his growing restaurant businesses, and of course, the burgeoning Christmas TV Movie Wars.
Spring is springing ahead, hope is (hopefully) blooming, and it's the perfect time to return for a warm-weather check in! In this episode, Erika, Dory, and Mel set Hallmark aside to discuss two recent cultural milestones: Oprah's interview with Meghan & Harry, and the Hulu documentary "Framing Britney Spears". Family drama, spirals, and sadness abound...and a bit of Hallmark talk at the end because we all just need a warm Hallmark hug right about now. Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special - https://www.cbs.com/shows/oprah-with-meghan-and-harry-a-cbs-primetime-special/ The New York Times Presents: Framing Britney Spears - https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/11/insider/framing-britney-spears-faq.html
It's Christmas, (Eve) and the final match-up is here! After Hallmark's Love, Lights, Hanukkah! competes against Lifetime's A Christmas Exchange, a 2020 Holiday Movie Bracket winner is crowned! And man, what a hard, hard choice it is to make in such a truly standout year. Dory, Erika and Mel also discuss highs and lows of the season, Hallmark movies of the past that we just can't get enough of, and the things that are giving us joy outside of the Christmas movie onslaught. Thanks for joining us for another year of bracket madness, see you all on the other side of 2020! WE DID IT!
Our 2020 All The Feels Holiday Movie Bracket Challenge is almost over, and Lifetime gave us two strong contenders this week: The Christmas Setup vs. A Sugar & Spice Holiday. Both movies were groundbreaking in their own ways and both gave us all the feels, but only one could come out on top. Listen now to find out which movie won the weekend in our second to last matchup of the year.
It's Hallmark vs Lifetime in the 6th match-up of the season as Christmas in Evergreen 4 battles Christmas Ever After. On one side, we got our favorite new Hallmark couple in our #1 Christmas town with its (perhaps) magical red truck. And on the other, we have a romance novelist who heads to her favorite Christmas lodge only to see the leading man from her books staring her right in the face! Who will move ahead? Tune in to find out!
Mel returns to the pod after a long journey East, just in time to pit the bananas 90s fever dream Dear Christmas against the strait-laced, Tiger-cruisin' USS Christmas. Mysteries of true love lost versus a podcaster's accidental true love found...which will take the Round 5 crown? Also, a Judds family history lesson, just because. Only three more match-ups left!
Our friend Antonio Cayonne is back again! And this time, he’s here to talk about his first ever LEADING ROLE in a Hallmark movie. In this episode, Dory and Erika chat with Antonio about COVID craziness, our wild presidential election in the States, the strides Hallmark is making to prioritize diversity and inclusion, his part in Christmas in Evergreen: Bells are Ringing, working with his friend and colleague Rukiya Bernard, his experience on the upcoming Mighty Ducks series for Disney+, and so much more. Enjoy!
Dory and Erika are joined by special guest Ryan to review quite possibly the toughest match-up ever! Listen as A Nashville Christmas Carol goes up against The Christmas House. We talk Christmas magic, a fantasy Judd family Hallmark movie, and trolling Treat Williams on twitter! Who wins this week battle? It was hard to choose, so tune in to find out!
Christmas in Vienna takes on The Christmas Doctor in round 3 of the Holiday Movie match up - and while one of these movies had the ladies in tears, the other just had them wishing for desserts. Wave hello to your nearest symbolic cardinal, abandon your date on the fancy champagne-ferris wheel, and join us for another Christmas movie breakdown!
In this episode, we talk about the never-ending election that was and celebrate our first female VP before getting into our second bracket matchup: The Christmas Yule Blog vs. Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater. Which of these movies led to a rant of epic proportions? Listen to find out! We also chat about One Royal Holiday, On the 12th Date of Christmas, Holly & Ivy and A Welcome Home Christmas. And if you're over any and all election talk (we get it) skip ahead to 18:49 where we begin our bracket discussion.
As the world burns and the election turns, the Holiday Movie Bracket makes a most triumphant return! It's week one in the bracket match up, in which Hallmark's Jingle Bell Bride takes on Lifetime's Christmas Unwrapped. Week one gifts us rare Alaskan flowers, an evil Cheryl Ladd, and Santa's sexy right hand man. Plus, spirited discussions of other off-bracket offerings - including Netflix's Holidate. Take cover with us in our TV Christmas bubble and we'll ride this week out, together.
Do you hear that?! Shhhhhh, listen closely. IT'S THE SOUND OF CHRISTMAS! Join the ladies as they craft the 2020 All The Feels Holiday Movie Bracket. If you thought last year's Hallmark vs Lifetime bracket was nuts, well just you wait! We're bringing another channel into the fold. This year, our match-ups include movies on the Hallmark Channel, Lifetime AND Hallmark Movies & Mysteries! Three channels compete but only one movie will take the crown!
This is a monumental episode for All The Feels - our first ever interview with a Hallmark Hallstar! Plus, more Sweet Magnolias! This episode is a long and winding road to nowhere, but hopefully an enjoyable one? In this supersized episode, Dory, Mel, and Erika discuss the murder of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter revolution, Hallmark's problematic response, and how our favorite Hallmark celebs have risen (or failed to rise) to the occasion. Warning: there is a lot of cursing in this one.
It’s nearly June, but the ladies of All The Feels still have Spring fever. In this episode, Mel, Erika and Dory, along with Mel’s new dog, Bones, discuss Hallmark’s 2020 Spring Fling movies: Just My Type, You’re Bacon Me Crazy, Fashionably Yours and Nature of Love.
It's still a national emergency out there, but this week we have a real treat - Erika emerges from maternity leave in a triumphant return to the pod! The ladies are back to discuss pandemic survival, what Hallmark stars would make the ideal partners in quarantine (and which would send us screaming) - plus some very special birthday shoutouts from our soon to be best friends.
This week, Dory and Mel are joined by movie critic and host of the Hallmarkies Podcast, Rachel Wagner. In this episode, the ladies take a trip down memory lane and share some of their favorite older Hallmark movies that you can find on Hallmark Drama or the Hallmark Movies Now app. Be sure to listen to the Hallmarkies podcast for all things Hallmark, and check out Rachel's movie reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
The plan was for special guest Rachel (from the Hallmarkies podcast) to join Mel & Dory for a deep dive into classic Hallmark...but the ladies can't help but talk pandemic, instead sharing more tips and recommendations that may help bring joy (or at least some sanity) during the world's longest indoor recess. So join us for another round of Surviving Self Isolation! We'll be back to talk more Hallmark next week! We promise this time! Find Rachel and her awesome Hallmark coverage at: https://www.hallmarkiespodcast.com/
It's a national crisis out there, one that not even hours and hours (and hours) of Hallmark can sooth away - but man, are we trying! Mel and Dory gather (remotely)to discuss what is keeping them sane in these trying times. If you want to skip the gloomy current events talk, we get it, jump ahead to about 13:40. Stay safe, everyone!
Dory and Mel finally get it together enough to record from two different states! Another aMAZE-ing Winterfest has come and gone with snow plows and ice caves and strudlefests-galore, and the ladies are ready to discuss it all...while taking some detours into MTV's Total Request Live, cozy murder mysteries, and their own personal Bad Place...a magic show.
THE 2019 HOLIDAY MOVIE BRACKET IS OVER AND WE HAVE A WINNER!!!! The match up may be done but Mel and Dory aren't ready to let go - so they head off bracket to discuss 'A Storybook Christmas', 'Double Holiday', 'Cheerful Christmas', and the bewildering amnesia romp that is 'Christmas on My Mind'.
We made it to the end! Our bracket is (almost) complete. This week, we get into the Great Hallmark Debacle of 2019 and chat about our final bracket matchup. We also share our favorite Lifetime holiday movies of all-time. If you want to get right to the movie discussion, we get it. It's been a rough week. Skip ahead to about 24 minutes in.
The most anticipated event (to us) of the season has finally arrived, as queen and Earth angel Dolly Parton christens Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas in week seven of the Holiday Movie Bracket. "Christmas at Dollywood" takes on Lifetime's "Grounded for Christmas", in a matchup perhaps doomed from the start. Late night sidebars include "A Christmas Love Story", "Mistletoe and Menorahs" and Dory's strong opinion of the musical "Cats". (Warning: If you love Cats...you may want to sit this one out.)
Well, we survived the Thanksgiving week onslaught of movies (barely) and we're exhausted but ready to discuss our 6th bracket matchup. On this episode of the pod, Kelly Rowland in Merry Liddle Christmas takes on Candace Cameron Bure in Christmas Town. We also discuss Dory’s short term memory loss, Black Friday purchases, this year’s bracket frontrunners and which upcoming Hallmark and Lifetime movies we’re most excited for.
The most special of all guest stars joins Mel and Dory for the 5th round on the Hallmark vs. Lifetime holiday bracket...Dory's mom Sheryl is here! 'Christmas Duet' and 'Staging Christmas' are the contenders but the ladies go off bracket to discuss their favorites of the week's glut of Thanksgiving premieres. OUR CORNUCOPIA RUNNETH OVER!! SO MANY MOVIES!! IT'S MADNESS!
It's week four of the holiday movie bracket matchup and Hallmark sequel "Cherished Memories: A Gift to Remember 2" is up against Lifetime's "Christmas 9 to 5", where an investigative reporter goes undercover as a department store retail clerk and why is any of this happening? Because Christmas, is why! Did Darcy & Aiden's love survive post-brain injury? Does Mrs. Henley still love a statement necklace? Will the evil Books! Books! Books! win the day? All will be discussed, and more!
This week, Jana Kramer stars in Lifetime's Christmas in Louisiana, and Chad Michael Murray charms us in Hallmark's Write Before Christmas. Tune in to find out which One Tree Hill alum was victorious in our third bracket matchup of the year.
Picture a Perfect Christmas takes on A Sweet Christmas Romance in week 2 of our 2019 Holiday Bracket Challenge, and Dory, Mel and special guest Meghan had NO feels for one of these contenders! Listen to find out whether Hallmark or Lifetime won the weekend.
Oh what! It's the first match up of the season! Hallmark's "Christmas Scavenger Hunt" takes on the fever dream that is Lifetime's "Christmas Reservations", and one network claims the inaugural win! Plus, Dory & Mel & Mel's roommate Clyde can't help but share their thoughts on random acts of Bollywood, bubble guts after 30, and the new Hallmark classic that made us cry all the tears - "Two Turtle Doves".
For the first time ever, Mel and Dory create the 2019 Countdown to Christmas movie bracket live! on air! In a podcast! Follow along as we pour over the line up, pick our favorite contenders, and discover what's in store for all of us this holiday season. Plus, this year's bracket will be unlike any we've had before! Tune in for the shocking reveal!
We may be in the dog days of summer but Dory, Mel, and Erika are in a June Wedding state of mind as they gather to discuss their mid-season favorites. "The Last Bridesmaid", "Sister of the Bride" and "Love, Take Two" are on the agenda, along with the instagram lives of Hallmark Celebs, an irrationally-early Countdown to Christmas preview, and the ladies' undying devotion to our queen Dolly Parton.
Mel, Dory, and Erika are back with a supersized super bloom episode! Spring Fever is in the air as the girls gather to discuss the contagion-level charm of Sara Rue, the bizarre ad campaign surrounding "Bottled With Love" and, alas, the Lori of it all. How did Hope Valley bounce back from the fall of their Hallmark Khaleesi? Will the Hallmark Mothership ever forgive? Can Easter ever truly be sexy, even with Brendan Penny's smoldering appeal? Join us for all this, and so, so, sooo much more! (Side note: The article Mel mentions is from The Atlantic - "What The College-Admissions Scandal Reveals: They Had It Coming" by Caitlin Flanagan)
Dory, Erika and friend of the pod, Meghan discuss all five Winterfest movies and we have some questions....Why would a princess give up her royal lifestyle? Why would a teacher retire in the middle of the school year? And the biggest head scratcher of all - how the hell do you sleep in an ice castle!?!
With the final match-up, the ladies break out the Hallmark crown and declare the winner of the 2018 Countdown to Christmas bracket! Listen as Dory reveals her tweets from those in the Hallmark inner circle, Erika confesses her OCD on tablescaping and Mel talks about her plans for juicing in the new year!
We're almost done making our way through our 2018 bracket, and what a journey it's been. This week, Lori Loughlin stars in "Homegrown Christmas" and Jennifer Finnigan is our heroine in "Welcome to Christmas." Did we swoon over the story of a successful fashion designer's second chance at love? Or did the quirky characters inhabiting a town called Christmas give us all the feels? Special guest Colin helps Dory, Erika and Mel break it down.
The Countdown to Christmas match-up is heating up! Time to stop and smell the pine needles and join the ladies as they pit the magical charm of Jen Lilley against the plucky charisma of Jerrika Hinton to crown a 6th-round winner! (...but mostly they spiral about internet dating because dating app plotlines are VERY triggering.)
The ladies are joined by special guest Josh aka Dory's boss for the battle between 90's sitcom daughters DJ Tanner and Ashley Banks. They talk ice fishing, Squishies (apparently, it's the latest kids craze) and Hallmark Channel commercial breaks that are even sadder than the movies themselves.
In our fourth matchup of the season, "Christmas at the Palace" goes head-to-head with "Reunited at Christmas". This episode has everything: parade crashers, bracket shake-ups, Grinch Kings, plagues and a tension-filled selection of the winner that will have you on the edge of your seat.
