Hello and welcome back to another episode of B Bin Horror! This episode we cover three different House of Wax movies, the 1933 film, Mystery of the Wax Museum, 1953's House of Wax and the 2005 remake also titled, House of Wax. Mystery of the Wax Museum was directed by Michael Curtiz and stars Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray, Glenda Farrell and Frank McHugh. The 1953 House of Wax film was directed by Andre de Toth and stars Vincent Price, Frank Lovejoy, Phyllis Kirk, Carolyn Jones and Paul Picerni. Finally, the 2005 House of Wax remake was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and stars Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray, Brian Van Holt, Paris Hilton, Jared Padalecki, Jon Abrahams and Robert Ri'chard. This week we do things a little differently because Dylan had some boiler issues, so Doug and Fred did the narrating for the episode. We talked about all three films and compared them to one another, Doug talks about death pits (of course he does) and we talk about Paris Hilton's night vision sex tape. For a teen romance based on a fairy tale, this didn't need to be as charming as it is, and a lot of that charm can be attributed to the stellar supporting cast - Regina King and Jennifer Coolidge in the same movie… fierce. Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray are Millennial royalty, but Jennifer and Regina as "wicked stepmother" Fiona and "fairy godmother" Rhonda are giving us everything - comedy, looks, a cat fight. It's like a "Drag Race" acting challenge come to life. This movie, like Hilary herself, has given way to some classic memes and has become woven into our collective consciousness. He agrees, and she recruits a few other people to play the rest of her “family.” They start doing fake family stuff—decorating for Christmas, having snowball fights, the whole thing. The ping-pong table they're using as a dinner table collapses, the kids' real parents show up totally confused, and the whole fake family is exposed.Joy tries to save it by claiming it's a blended family, but no one's buying it. Everything is falling apart—and this is when Max finally confesses his feelings for her. Joy says it's not the right time, which breaks his heart, and he leaves.And yes…all of this happens on live TV.Joy runs after him, but he's already driven away. She goes back inside and tells the audience the truth—that the whole thing was a lie and she's been pretending this whole time.The next day is Christmas, and her publisher shows up with great news: online sales are through the roof. As a movie that often gets some hate, we've always said it's one of the more underrated horror movies from the 2000s with a fun cast of Chad Michael Murray, Elisha Cuthbert, Jared Padalecki, Paris Hilton, and Robert Ri'chard. While it has some plot holes, it really delivers on everything 2000s horror had to offer and never ceases to entertain us. This week we tried, and failed, to traverse two of our favorite horror films from the mid-2000s, only to spiral into oblivion trying to figure out how Jared Padalecki's face survives being ripped off (spoiler: it doesn't), debate whether Chad Michael Murray was secretly trying to hook up with his sister (ew), and spend way too much time wondering who the hell supplied Vincent with enough wax to build an entire two-story house in the Louisiana swamp. (Home Depot? Yankee Candle? Miranda Cosgrove began her journey in film and television as a Nickelodeon mainstay, and now she's busy carving out a similar space for herself over at Netflix as she celebrates the release of her second romantic comedy for the streamer. Just last year she starred in Mother of the Bride opposite Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt, and Chad Michael Murray, and now she headlines and executive produces The Wrong Paris.In the film, Cosgrove plays Dawn, a young woman eager to study art in Paris, France. While she does manage to get into a prestigious program there, she can't quite afford it. That's where her reality TV-loving sister swoops in. Turns out, one of her favorite shows is doing a season set in Paris, so all Dawn has to do is get on the show, get eliminated fast, and then she's free to study. Trouble is, after Dawn is indeed selected as a contestant, the producers reveal that the season will actually take place in Paris ... Jane Luk is a celebrated Canadian actress, comedian, and improviser whose career spans stage, screen, and voice work. Coming up next, she is set to recur as Maureen Alvorson in the highly anticipated horror television adaptation of Stephen King‘sThe Institute which made its premiere on July 13 on MGM+. Throughout her career, Jane has maintained a strong presence in Canada's live comedy scene, performing improv for several decades with institutions like The Second City, Bad Dog Theatre, SoCap Comedy, and Theatresports in both Toronto and Vancouver. She has also taught improv and drama for over 30 years, working with organizations such as Toronto Metropolitan University, Centre for Indigenous Theatre, ArtStarts, the University of Windsor, and a wide range of corporate clients. On screen, Jane has appeared in major film and television productions including The Handmaid's Tale, Murdoch Mysteries, Kim's Convenience, and in the award-winning web series like Streams Flow from a River (Christopher Yip) and Chateau Laurier (James Stewart). She also played the angel Maureen opposite Chad Michael Murray in Angel Falls Christmas. Most recently, she made her Stratford Festival debut in Les Belles-Soeurs, and starred as Umma in Kim's Convenience on stage for Soulpepper Theatre and Thousand Islands Playhouse. Add mushrooms, shallots, garlic, and thyme to a hot pan. 2. Add butter and olive oil and sauté 3. Continue sauteing for 8-10 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated 4. Season with salt and pepper and set aside to cool. For the Beef: * 3 Pound Center Cut Beef Tenderloin * Extra Virgin Olive Oil * Kosher Salt * Coarse Ground Black Pepper / Freshly Ground * 12 Slices Prosciutto / Sliced Thin * 6 Sprigs Fresh Thyme / Leaves Only * 5 TBS horseradish cream * 5 TBS wholegrain mustard 1. Preheat oven to 425 2. Tie the tenderloin in 4 places so it holds its shape 3. Drizzle with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper 4. Sear all over, including the ends in a skillet lightly coated with olive oil 5. Combine mustard and horseradish cream in a bowl 6. Set out your prosciutto on a sheet of plastic wrap. Shingle the prosciutto so it forms a rectangle that is big enough to cover the beef 7. Add duxelles on top of prosciutto 8. When the beef is seared, remove from heat, cut off twine and smear lightly all over with Dijon mustard. 9. Sprinkle the thyme leaves over the beef 10. 10.Place the beef on the prosciutto/mushroom. Fold prosciutto over beef and tie plastic wrap tight. 11. 11.Set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to ensure it maintains its shape. 12. 12.Bake for 40-45 min Spinach with bacon Ingredients: * 6 bacon strips * ½ medium onion * 1 pound baby spinach * Salt and pepper Steps: 1. Cut bacon into small pieces and fry in skillet 2. Put bacon pieces on paper towel leaving 2-3 TBS of fat in the pan 3. Sauté onion in bacon fat 4.
