Miranda Cosgrove began her journey in film and television as a Nickelodeon mainstay, and now she's busy carving out a similar space for herself over at Netflix as she celebrates the release of her second romantic comedy for the streamer. Just last year she starred in Mother of the Bride opposite Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt, and Chad Michael Murray, and now she headlines and executive produces The Wrong Paris. In the film, Cosgrove plays Dawn, a young woman eager to study art in Paris, France. While she does manage to get into a prestigious program there, she can't quite afford it. That's where her reality TV-loving sister swoops in. Turns out, one of her favorite shows is doing a season set in Paris, so all Dawn has to do is get on the show, get eliminated fast, and then she's free to study. Trouble is, after Dawn is indeed selected as a contestant, the producers reveal that the season will actually take place in Paris ... Texas. With The Wrong Paris now available to watch on Netflix, Cosgrove visited the Collider Ladies Night studio for a chat about making the movie, and her journey to the streamer. While we did dig into her time on Drake & Josh and iCarly, Cosgrove also made a point to emphasize what a wonderful time she had on the set of her very first feature film. That movie? The 2003 smash hit, School of Rock starring Jack Black. After that, she discusses her experience serving as an executive producer on the iCarly revival, and shares memories from the set of The Wrong Paris. Hosted on Acast. This week, we're throwing it back to our Season 3 episode as we gear up for Freakier Friday. Body swaps, early 2000s teen angst, and Chad Michael Murray's suspiciously greasy hair—Jackie and Danielle are rewinding to 2003's Freaky Friday for a nostalgia-soaked, laugh-out-loud ride through Disney's ultimate mother-daughter switcheroo. Joined by Alexa from Tickets, Please, the No More Late Fees crew dives into behind-the-scenes casting shakeups (Annette Bening and Tom Selleck, anyone?), the film's place in the Disney remake wave, and why Jamie Lee Curtis's comedic timing turned this into more than just another teen comedy. Expect fandom hot takes on the Anna vs. Tess dynamic, a deep dive into early 2000s fashion and soundtrack bangers, character arcs that hit differently now, and trivia gems that will make you want to rewatch immediately. We also break down the film's box office success, the enduring comfort-movie factor, and the moments that don't quite age as well. Whether you were Team Lindsay back in the day or just discovered the movie on Disney+, this episode is your all-access pass to one of the most rewatchable films of the Y2K era. If you love the episode, leave us a review, subscribe for more throwback movie fun, and share your favorite Freaky Friday moment with us.·Season 5 Episode 17·—No More Late Fees https://nomorelatefeespodcast.com909-601-NMLF (6653)—Follow Us on Social:Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/nomorelatefees TikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@nomorelatefees Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/nomorelatefeesYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/@nomorelatefees Twitterhttps://x.com/NoMoreLateFees —CONQUERingmyconquering.com10% Off Code: JACKIE10—Tickets PleaseInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ticketspleasepodTwitter: https://twitter.com/tixpleasepod TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ticketspleasepod

At the age of 18 he received critical attention from audiences and critics alike when he made his debut feature, My Pure Joy. One to push boundaries, James followed up with the bold and unapologetic Hate Crime which forced audiences along for a brutal home invasion, the first found footage feature ever to be made in the style of having no cuts. The entire film plays out painfully in real time. It was promptly banned in the UK for its fearless story telling, one of three films to be banned in the last 25 years and remains so to this day. Ahead of his time, he then started the To Jennifer series, the first feature film to be shot entirely on the iPhone 5. He produced the next three instalments. The prolific filmmaker refused to slow down completing seven more features including Pernicious, 13-13-13, and Blood Lake, starring Shannen Doherty and Christopher Lloyd, which made James the youngest director to ever direct for television. After writing and directing the haunting Bethany, James shifted his focus to producing. He has now produced forty-eight features including releases for Lionsgate and Cinedigm and is a member of both the PGA and SAG/AFTRA. His impressive body of work has won him numerous Best Picture and Best Director awards on the film festival circuit. James has achieved all this at the age of 29 and refuses to slow down as he continues to push the envelop and make films no one thought possible. Hello everyone! Well, it's the most wonderful time of the year, and because so many of you have messaged me, I am excited to announce that Stephanie is joining me for a Christmas movie review we watched on Netflix. Don't worry! Hallmark Christmas movies are coming in our next episode, but we just had to report on our findings and give feedback in case you, too, were pulled in by the Yuletide marketing. I think we can safely say that Chad Michael Murray is still dear to both of us. He can't dance worth a flip. But he's dear. And not too shabby in the physique department! Think Christmas, think perfect chiselled abs. At least, that appears to be the message from Netflix's Hot Frosty and The Merry Gentlemen. The former sees Schitt's Creek's Dustin Milligan play a snowman come to life to fall in love with Lacey Chabert's cafe owner. The Merry Gentlemen, meanwhile, sees Britt Robertson's dancer turn Chad Michael Murray and friends into a topless dance revue to save her parents bar. Your host, Helen O'Hara (@HelenLOHara) sits down with stand-up comic and former MC of Magic Mike Live, David Morgan (@ThisIsDavid) to talk about the difference between chiselled and too chiselled, and what exactly is going on in these small towns... If you want to read or hear more from Helen, you can order her book "Women Vs Hollywood: The Fall and Rise of Women in Film" which is out now in The UK . This week, Tommy is joined by actress Britt Robertson who currently stars in The Merry Gentlemen on Netflix. You know and love Britt from roles in Life Unexpected, The Secret Circle, The Rookie:Feds, I Still Believe, and so much more. In The Merry Gentlemen, Britt plays Ashley, a Broadway dancer who returns home to save her parent's small-town nightclub by staging an all-male Christmas themed review, led by Chad Michael Murray. Yes, this movie is quite steamy, but it's also full of heart and Britt captures the magic of Christmas perfectly. Today, Britt opens up about why it was a no-brainer joining this film, her journey of learning that work doesn't have to be the only thing that defines who she is as a person, how she bonded with Chad Michael Murray over hair, what teaming up with him was like for this film, her ideal sequel idea, why sometimes you need to be pushed out of your circumstances to open the door for life-changing opportunities, why its okay to not always be in control, how she is now conscious of making sure all of her cups are as full as possible, some eye opening things she has learned in therapy, where she sees herself in the future professionally, why she doesn't like to go to movies with anyone she knows and so much more.Subscribe, rate and review this episode if you enjoyed this conversation!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dennis is joined via Zoom by actor Marc Samuel to talk about his two new Netflix projects; the holiday film The Merry Gentlemen and the Ted Danson comedy series Man On the Inside. The Merry Gentleman is like a holiday twist on The Full Monty with Marc playing a reluctant male stripper who, along with his pals, puts on an exotic male review show to save their small town theater. Marc talks about performing the various dance numbers, working opposite male lead Chad Michael Murray, getting in shape for the role and what it's like to work for Netflix generally. He also talks about Man On the Inside and whether or not he felt pressure to be funny, giving that the show was created by Mike Shur of The Good Place and Parks and Recreation fame. Marc also recalls falling in love with acting at the age of five when he saw his father performing in a Chicago stage production of Fiddler on the Roof and how he experienced a full circle moment decades later when his dad got to see him act on stage in Miss Evers Boys in Portland. Other topics include: getting discovered by his commercial agent at the Mexican restaurant Marix in West Hollywood, how Hollywood has evolved in terms of its depictions of gay and black characters, how he's managed to stay positive and ride the ups and downs of the business, his long-time recurring role as Felix LaCroix on General Hospital, why he lives in the mountains instead of in LA proper and why he compares one very specific aspect of his acting career to holding in a fart.
The steps you should take to reduce the amount of junk mail cluttering your inbox. Also, Ally Love answers your questions about how to stay healthy around the holidays.
