Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHBaby Jack is back and better than ever, out there throwing the baseball with Nathan. It's almost as if the ordeal of diabetes is behind them—her words, not mine. Graduation is quickly approaching for the first time in 12 seasons. Nathan and Elizabeth are as in love as ever, matching outfits and all.Rosemary is talking to Bill about how she isn't going to publish this story without knowing where the gold is. She suggests interviewing Edie—maybe she'll open up more about what she knows.Nathan is talking to Oliver and gives him a form stating that he'll be stationed in Fort McNeil after he graduates. Oliver doesn't seem thrilled.Rosemary goes to talk to Edie and notices a map behind her. Edie tells Rosemary that her uncle drew it. Silly uncle, always drawing maps. The kids all present their project-based learning projects in front of parents, and Lucas is impressed. He tells Elizabeth he's going to talk to the district about implementing this at other schools.Elizabeth gets a letter from her grandma, telling her that Cape Fullerton has great doctors and essentially encouraging her to move for the sake of Baby Jack. But Baby Jack is fine. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.Lucas and Edie are playing cards, talking about her uncle, and they decide that maybe they should try to find the gold coins and return them to their owners.Bill, Rosemary, and Nathan are looking at the map when they suddenly notice that the well is GIANT on it. Maybe it's a clue. Maybe this map is actually a treasure map!Oliver fails his final exam on purpose because he doesn't want to leave Hope Valley. Elizabeth goes to talk to him, and then they play tag.Edie and Lucas decide to go dig at the well when Rosemary, Nathan, and Bill show up too. They all start digging together and find a chest full of coins! They go back to the office to discuss. When Edie realizes the map is a treasure map, she figures there might be a secret message from her uncle. She holds it up to a candle, and a message appears. He explains how he found the gold and used it to pay for Edie's law school. He says the rest of the gold is hers too. There's a sweet storyline about the townsfolk rallying around Angela and Minnie, which is nice. It's graduation, and since it's being held at the saloon, there's a dance afterward. Lucas tells Elizabeth that the school board is interested in hearing more about the curriculum, but she's not sure about leaving Baby Jack right now.The season looks to be ending peacefully until late that night when Elizabeth notices Baby Jack lying motionless on the couch. She screams for help. Faith rushes over and says, "We got a bad batch." She tells Elizabeth that maybe Cape Fullerton would be best for Baby Jack after all. So they hop in a car, and she gives Rosemary a note to give to Nathan.Nathan and Allie go after them, honking the horn. They all get in the car, and Nathan tells Elizabeth that wherever she goes, he goes—and then they kiss.
Send us a textHearties, this one's for you! In this episode of Love on the Pod, we take a nostalgic trip back to Hope Valley as we recap When Calls the Heart, Seasons 1-6. From Elizabeth Thatcher's journey as a city girl turned devoted schoolteacher to the romance, heartbreak, and resilience that define the beloved Hallmark series, we cover all the highs and lows. We'll discuss: ✨ Elizabeth & Jack's love story (and that heart-wrenching Season 5 moment
Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHEveryone in Hope Valley is so inspired! Rosemary is going to put on a play, and Elizabeth is considering sending her curriculum to publishers!Elizabeth surprises Nathan with tickets to Union City to see the latest Buster Keaton picture, and the dude is pumped!!!Rosemary is holding auditions for the play, but some of the performances are less than inspiring. So Elizabeth whispers an idea to her… it's Bill. Rosemary tricks Bill into auditioning.Allie and Oliver have a plan to save the salmon, and Lucas could use some good news. After the movie in Union City, Nathan bumps into that guy Toddy from the poker game. He invites them over for a party, which Nathan is uncomfortable with because that would require them to go undercover as Danny and Dianne. At play rehearsal, Ava shows up and shows off her acting skills, but Rosemary doesn't want her around.Back at the party, Danny and Dianne are having a great time, doing the Charleston and whatnot. What could go wrong? Well, when Toddy and his wife start asking questions about their love story, their stories aren't exactly in sync. It seems like Toddy is a bit skeptical of them, and he makes them go on stage to sing.Lucas goes to talk to Edie about Allie's salmon plan, and it's clear these two are digging each other. She ends up showing up later at his office for a "game of cards." But Lucas knows she's up to something. Turns out she doesn't think the idea he pitched is a good one, and she encourages him not to move forward with it.Lee talks to Rosemary about the play and tries to get her to be honest about her hesitation with Ava. It seems like Rosemary is starting to come to terms with the fact that she might not be the hot new actress anymore.Nathan finally gets Toddy to talk about some shady stuff he has. It might be just what Nathan needs.Fiona ends up selling her spa.The episode ends with Elizabeth and Rosemary drinking tea and toasting to new adventures.
Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHIt's time for... PROJECT-BASED LEARNING!!! Judd finally tells Bill and Rosemary about the coin. He says he got it from a poker game in Union City. Judd is counting cards and didn't realize it. He says he got it from Toddy Davis.Nathan is not pleased with Allie's interest in this Wyatt kid but doesn't know how to address it.Lucas brings Rosemary his press release about the park. Rosemary is like, "I bet Lee would like to hear your thoughts on this... maybe not through a press release."Rosemary and Bill talk to Nathan about Toddy, and they agree that someone should go undercover to talk to him. Nathan says he should go as a poker player. They aren't sure he can handle it.We see a random woman walking the streets when a car pulls up, driven by... FIONA! FIONA IS BACK!This girl's name is Ava, and her story is very similar to Elizabeth's. She says she read Elizabeth's book, and that's what led her to come to Hope Valley.Nathan hears about Ava and is immediately skeptical of the similarities in their stories.Fiona tells Faith and Mai Sue that she isn't planning on staying. She also thinks she's going to say yes to this guy who keeps proposing. She feels it's time for a change so she can do more good and make a bigger impact.Elizabeth walks into the saloon and sees him laying it on thick with Ava. This concerns her. She thinks this guy is going to break her heart.A couple of the guys trick Lucas and Lee into meeting to talk through their differences.Elizabeth tries to talk to Allie about Wyatt, but it doesn't go well.Lee and Lucas make up, and that's nice.Nathan goes undercover and successfully gets Toddy to trust him.Allie asks Wyatt if he would go on a picnic with her. He tells her that she's nice, but she's just not his type. She's very sad. She talks to Elizabeth about it, and it's a real heart-to-heart.
Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHBill is playing mediator between Lucas and Lee, and it's not going well. Elizabeth catches wind of Allie's dance party. She's very excited and offers to help them learn to dance. They're like, "Well, do you know the Charleston?" She lies and says yes. Allie tells her that Nathan doesn't know and wants to keep it a secret for now.Bill and Rosemary bring the case of the coin to the mountie, and he encourages them to take the lead on this. He tells them it's nice to see them working on it.When the topic of the dance comes up with her parents, Angela seems uncomfortable. They assume it's because she's never been to a dance like this.Allie is all in on Wyatt, and her friends invite him to the dance. She's nervous that word is going to get back to her dad. Just then, she sees Oliver coming in and invites him to the dance too. There's a new love triangle in Hope Valley.Elizabeth comes to the library to get some books about dancing when she sees Angela in there, looking sad. She opens up to her about how she's worried about how her friends will view her at the dance because she's blind. She talks to her dad about it, and he tells her that dancing isn't about how you look, it's about how you feel.Nathan finally finds out about the dance, and he gets into a bit of a fight with Allie. He doesn't think she's ready to throw a party by herself. Elizabeth comes in with a crazy idea: they chaperone. Apparently, Mae Sue knows about dancing, so she teaches Elizabeth and Rosemary.Lucas goes to take a look at the land, and wouldn't you know it, Edie is there. She offers to show him around.Molly is very nervous about how all the kids are out there dancing. She wants the party canceled, so she requests a town meeting. They agree to let the dance continue if there are more chaperones.Angela tells her dad that she wants to go to a school for kids who are blind.Lucas and Edie try to capture a calf. Luckily, he has a lasso. Edie had told Lucas that she was engaged, so when he notices her ring is missing, she comes clean and says she's not engaged anymore. She just tells people that and wears the ring to keep the boys at bay. He picks up the goat, and she is very impressed. It's time for the dance, but no one is dancing. So Oliver gets out there and starts, and Allie goes out to join him. The dance is a smash success.Molly and Judd dance. I don't really care about that, but then Judd says that he paid for the hazelnuts with a gold coin.Oliver is about to give Allie something, but Wyatt shows up, and they start dancing. Oliver is sad.
Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHSo there is this mountie who tells Elizabeth he has news about her late husband. He tries to make the convo private but she insist Nathan be apart of it. He hands her Jack's commissioner medal - the highest honor of a mountie. They found it while excavating the site. Then this guy gives some shade in regards to her now being with Nathan. No one asked you, sir. Rosemary is upset that Lee is going to be gone for a while with the planning of the park. Comic books have come to Hope Valley, much to the concern of the adults. Lee is pushing back against Lucas' request for him to go to capital city, seeing as how they have a baby now. Rosemary is bothered by the drop in readership due to the radio but she is struck with a genius idea - news radio. Elizabeth goes to talk to Nathan because she can tell he feels guilty about the whole Jack thing. HE explains that one day he's gonna have to tell baby Jack that his dad went instead of him. Cadet Oliver Garret shows up and interrupts their moment. Little Jack is nervous about his first day of school, so Elizabeth gives him Jack medal to wear. He ends up letting Faith's little girl and so now he's a hero. Lee tries to convince Rosemary he should go by telling her they're going to name the park after Goldie. So finally she say yes. He hops on a train with Lucas and is shocked to find out that the slime ball from the campaign is still around. Nathan shows up at night with a thing for the medal and then they look at the moon and kiss.

In the world of big wall climbing and wingsuit BASE jumping, @chris_mcnamara was a leader and innovator, claiming the first wingsuit BASE jump of the Grand Canyon (where he almost died twice in the same jump) and one of the youngest people to ever climb the West Face of El Capitan. As the founder of Supertopo, which evolved into GearLab, McNamara's interests also evolved beyond climbing and the dangers of BASE jumping. It was when he moved to Lake Tahoe over a decade ago and discovered trails, mountain biking and specifically TAMBA, where he found his new passion. Always the dopamine-fueled thinker and dreamer obsessed with first ascents, “BushwhackNamara” immediately started asking “what if”? What if there was a mountain bike singletrack around Lake Tahoe? What if there was a trail from Susanville to Mammoth called Sierra Camino? What if there was a mountain bike trail from Canada to Cabo called Orogenesis? The dopamine was flooding his brain with possibilities, and a decade later, Chris and his wife Tor have been instrumental in funding the trails renaissance happening in Lake Tahoe.2:00 – Recording in the Toyota Sunrader RV up on top of Monitor Pass off Highway 89.3:30 – Introducing Chris McNamara, legendary big wall climber and early wing suit BASE jump pioneer and now a big trails advocate.7:00 – Chris and his obsession with long distance trails, and the Orogenesis Trail, a trail from Canada to Cabo, as well as the Sierra Camino.10:00 – The dopamine fix associated with thinking and ideas. Smylie Kaufman and Charlie Hulme run through a long list of items worth discussing from the weekend, including Robert MacIntyre's Canadian Open win, Yuka Saso's U.S. Open win, and a Smylie Show College World Series grudge match pitting Smylie's LSU Tigers against Charlie's UNC Tar Heels. After matching 64s in a Sunday pairing featuring Rory McIlroy and Tom Kim, Smylie and Charlie discuss both star players and whether their game is trending at the right time. On the women's side, SK and CH examine Lancaster Country Club - a course they both loved - and whether the test was too challenging after watching pre-tournament favorite Nelly Korda crash out early. Charlie's failure to advance to the shootout in the Hope Valley member-member tournament results in three incredible names that pique Smylie's interest.
Gillie Jenkinson talks about her time in a Bible-based cult, her escape, her doctoral studies, and her book, which is a step-by-step guide to recovery. When Natasha Burnett and Viv Leacock work together, something special happens. Natasha and Viv play Minnie and Joseph Canfield on When Calls the Heart. The first Black family to feature prominently on When Calls the Heart, the Canfields arrived in Hope Valley a few seasons back and quickly became touchstones for many of the town's residents. Natasha and Viv are fun to watch, and they look like they're having fun working together. This fun can be seen in Legend of the Lost Locket, a film that is at once a rom-com and a mystery that spans the centuries. Natasha is Amelia, an antiques dealer from England desperate to complete the quest her late mother started to reunite two halves of a legendary locket. Amelia's quest takes her to America, to a sleepy town on the eve of its 200th anniversary, and straight into the path of the town's Sheriff, Marcus, played by Viv. Legend of the Lost Locket is currently streaming on Hallmark Movies Now, and will have its Hallmark Channel premiere on Saturday, April 13. In this fascinating conversation with Sabrina Rani Furminger, Natasha and Viv reflect on their journey to this moment, lost lockets, what to expect for Minnie and Joseph in season 11, what Peter DeLuise said that helped them make sense of the Canfields' presence in Hope Valley, their shared love of Columbo, and what it is that makes their collaboration work. In 2019 Anita Sethi was on a trans Pennine train journey when she was racially abused by a man who later pleaded guilty to the offence. During the attack he told her to go back to where she belonged. Having been born and raised in Manchester Anita feels very strongly that the North of England is where she belongs and as a way of working through the shock and trauma of the incident she began a journey through the Pennines on foot beginning at the uplifting and positively named Hope in the Peak District. Clare joins her for a hike in the steep countryside to Edale taking in Mam Tor and Kinder Scout. Producer: Maggie Ayre

“Could a group of people come together to do the right thing for the environment, the right thing for the community, the right thing for the people that work there, the right thing for the guests and have a sustainable business?” We're in great company with Chet Pipkin, Founder of the recently realized Desolation Hotel in the Sierra Nevada region of California, with two distinctly different nature experiences - one in Lake Tahoe, an oasis of serenity in the midst of a bustling town, and the other in Hope Valley, a historic resort and remote escape. With a focus on delivering exceptional experiences both inside the resorts and outside of them, Desolation Hotel has become more than a place where modern adventurers can stay and relax during their vacation. It has become a basecamp for exploration; a launching pad for touring, enjoying and celebrating the wonder that is the great American West. In this episode, Chet shares his inspiring perspective on what it is like to be a lifelong learner and entrepreneur, a believer in the magic of relationships and connection, both to others and with nature. Top Takeaways [1:00] After founding Belkin in his parent's garage which transpired into more than four decades creating exceptional experiences in the consumer electronics industry, Chet Pipkin yearned to build a community that would synthesize his passion for tech with his love of outdoor exploration. [5:15] Chet explains his similar approach to technology and hospitality, “Do the hard work upfront to make the experiences simple.” [17:30] Faced with the choice to create a nature experience for those outdoor enthusiasts in the bustling town of Lake Tahoe or in the untouched and secluded Hope Valley, Chet and his family decided, why not do both? [19:30] Desolation Hotel took not only its name, but great design inspiration from the Pipkin family's decades exploring the Desolation Wilderness. [27:30] Adventure is in season every season at Lake Tahoe with summer water sports, hiking and biking, and winter skiing available all around town. [31:15] Look up at the fall foliage and take in the views of the night sky at Hope Valley, the perfect place to connect to nature and experience the 100 year history of hospitality on property.
