Get your choice of a healthy free protein staple like chicken breast for a year or ground beef in every box for LIFE PLUS $20 off when you go to ButcherBox.com/mylett What happens when your identity ends but your purpose doesn't? In this conversation, I sat down with Candace Cameron Bure, and I've got to tell you, this one hit me in a different way. So many of you are in a season where something in your life has ended. A career, a relationship, a chapter you thought defined you. And now you're asking what's next. Candace has lived that at the highest level. From global fame on Full House to stepping away for a decade to raise her family, and then rebuilding her career all over again. What she shared about reinvention, identity, and having the courage to start over is something every one of you needs to hear. We got real about confidence, or the lack of it. She opened up about being nervous, doubting herself, and still showing up anyway. That idea of fake it until you make it is not about being inauthentic. It is about choosing courage in moments where fear is loud. And I think that is something so many people miss. You do not need to feel ready. You just need to move. Candace's drive, what she calls her little engine that could mentality, is a masterclass in perseverance and faith in action. We also went deep on faith. And I mean really deep. This was not surface level. Candace shared what it has cost her to be bold about what she believes. Opportunities lost. Criticism. Being labeled in ways that do not reflect who she really is. But what stood out to me is that her identity is not conditional. It is not based on what people think, how her career is going, or whether life feels easy in the moment. That kind of conviction is rare. And it is powerful. We talked about fame, success, and what people get wrong about both. The influence that comes with it, but also the loss of privacy and control. We talked about marriage, priorities, and what it takes to keep a relationship strong for decades. And I loved hearing how intentional she is about protecting what matters most. Her family, her faith, and the life she is building behind the scenes, not just what the world sees. At the end, I asked her a simple but powerful question. If someone wants to run their race well, where do they start? And her answer was not complicated. It starts in your heart. It starts with a conversation with God. That moment alone is worth listening to this entire episode. This is one of those conversations that can truly shift your perspective on who you are and where you are going. Key Takeaways: Why your identity cannot be tied to a single chapter of your life How to rebuild confidence even when you feel unqualified or afraid The real cost and reward of standing firm in your beliefs What fame really gives you and what it quietly takes away How to prioritize marriage, faith, and purpose in a busy life Where to begin if you want to live with more intention and conviction

Chris flies solo today, without Mitzi on this Monday, but still manages to keep it (mostly) on the sunny side! Today, on National Tartan Day, and the year’s 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, we explore the fascinating history and linkage between our Declaration, and the Scottish Declaration of Arbroath, along with a special bonus surprise anniversary connection of the “Triumphal Entry” of Jesus Christ on Apr 6, 32 AD (10th of Nisan) spoken of in all four Gospels! If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. – John 8:36 KJV Triumphal Entry – in all four Gospels! Mat 21:1–11 Mar 11:1–10 Luk 19:28–40 Jhn 12:12–19 From the National Tartan Day Time and Date page: The Scottish Declaration of Independence was signed on April 6, 1320. The American Declaration of Independence was, in fact, modeled on this particular document. Almost half of the signers of the American Declaration of Independence were of Scottish descent. The US Senate Resolution on National Tartan Day was passed on March 20, 1998. From that point onward, National Tartan Day was designated as a day for all Americans, particularly those of Scottish descent, on April 6 each year. From the summary of John King Bellassai’s Two Declarations with a Common Purpose: The Link between 1320 and 1776: Tartan Day in the United States is April 6th, which is also the anniversary of the signing of the 1320 Declaration of Arbroath. The significance of this date is the striking similarities in phrasing and intent between the Declaration of Arbroath and the Declaration of Independence. A key to understanding this link is the fact that the American Revolution came right on the heels of the Scottish Enlightenment. While Scottish immigrants were a small part of the general colonial population, their influence on the worldview held by the educated segment of the colonial population, most notably Thomas Jefferson was very influential. Several other key events including the fact that Jefferson's mother's family were of Scottish decent of one of the signers of the Declaration of Arbroath and his Scottish William & Mary professor William Small, whom Jefferson described as his mentor, most notably also played a role in the creation of the Declaration of Independence. To suppose them to have surrendered these in any other way than by equal rules and general consent was to suppose them idiots or madmen, whose acts were never binding. To suppose them surprised by fraud, or compelled by force, into any other compact, such fraud and such force could confer no obligation. Every man had a right to trample it under foot whenever he pleased. In short, he asserted these rights to be derived only from nature and the author of nature; that they were inherent, inalienable, and indefeasible by any laws, pacts, contracts, covenants, or stipulations, which man could devise. [x] John Adams, A Dissertation on the Canon and Feudal Law – Teaching American History In a word, let every sluice of knowledge be opened and set a-flowing. The encroachments upon liberty in the reigns of the first James and the first Charles, by turning the general attention of learned men to government, are said to have produced the greatest number of consummate statesmen which has ever been seen in any age or nation. The Brookes, Hampdens, Vanes, Seldens, Miltons, Nedhams, Harringtons, Nevilles, Sidneys, Lockes, are all said to have owed their eminence in political knowledge to the tyrannies of those reigns. The prospect now before us in America, ought in the same manner to engage the attention of every man of learning, to matters of power and of right, that we may be neither led nor driven blindfolded to irretrievable destruction. Nothing less than this seems to have been meditated for us, by somebody or other in Great Britain. There seems to be a direct and formal design on foot, to enslave all America. This, however, must be done by degrees. The first step that is intended, seems to be an entire subversion of the whole system of our fathers, by the introduction of the canon and feudal law into America. The canon and feudal systems, though greatly mutilated in England, are not yet destroyed. Like the temples and palaces in which the great contrivers of them once worshipped and inhabited, they exist in ruins; and much of the domineering spirit of them still remains. The designs and labors of a certain society, to introduce the former of them into America, have been well exposed to the public by a writer of great abilities; and the further attempts to the same purpose, that may be made by that society, or by the ministry or parliament, I leave to the conjectures of the thoughtful. But it seems very manifest from the Stamp Act itself, that a design is formed to strip us in a great measure of the means of knowledge, by loading the press, the colleges, and even an almanac and a newspaper, with restraints and duties; and to introduce the inequalities and dependencies of the feudal system, by taking from the poorer sort of people all their little subsistence, and conferring it on a set of stamp officers, distributors, and their deputies. But I must proceed no further at present. The sequel, whenever I shall find health and leisure to pursue it, will be a “disquisition of the policy of the stamp act.” In the mean time, however, let me add, — These are not the vapors of a melancholy mind, nor the effusions of envy, disappointed ambition, nor of a spirit of opposition to government, but the emanations of a heart that burns for its country's welfare. No one of any feeling, born and educated in this once happy country, can consider the numerous distresses, the gross indignities, the barbarous ignorance, the haughty usurpations, that we have reason to fear are meditating for ourselves, our children, our neighbors, in short, for all our countrymen and all their posterity, without the utmost agonies of heart and many tears. Tartan Day has expanded into an entire Tartan Week in New York City and Angus, and into multi-day events in some other locations, including Washington, DC. The name Scotland Week has also been promoted in Scotland. The events typically have parades of pipe bands, Highland dancing, and other Scottish-themed activities. In 1998, the efforts of the coalition and the Caledonian Foundation (led then by JoAnne Phipps), with the legislative sponsorship of Senator Trent Lott, resulted in United States Senate Resolution No. 155 (introduced March 6, 1998) to adopt April 6 as National Tartan Day. The resolution passed March 20, 1998, “to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions made by Scottish Americans to the United States”; it also referred to the predominance of Scots among the Founding Fathers of the United States and claimed that the American Declaration of Independence was “modelled on” the Scottish Declaration of Arbroath. The now quasi-official National Tartan Day was held annually thereafter; The Washington Times reported in 2000 on the event, by which time it was already growing into a three-day affair in Washington, DC. This episode mentions suicide and may be triggering for some listeners. On today’s episode, we talk with two guests who have navigated both the heights of success and the depths of personal struggle, learning a profound truth: finding hope isn’t just for the good times. Candace Cameron Bure, the beloved actress and author, shares how she rooted her identity not in Hollywood fame, but in her faith, discovering her true value when the applause stopped. Then, Pastor Shawn Johnson opens up about his lifelong battles with anxiety, depression, and a devastating medical diagnosis, revealing how he found the courage to “kiss the fire” and walk through his hardest seasons with God’s strength. My identity is rooted in Christ, that I am the daughter of the King. My purpose is to glorify God in all that I do.” - Candace Cameron Bure “There was always a hug at the end of Full House and Fuller House, and we always worked through the problems. It was a really great model for so many people that have families that don’t feel safe. This was a family that they could look to for that.” - Candace Cameron Bure “My joy comes from the Lord and the goodness that He gives me and having hope in Him for eternity. And through that joy, He gives me my strength to persevere each day, to endure every day, to take another step, to be able to breathe deeply. God calls us to walk with Him, and you can’t get to know someone if you don’t spend time with them.” - Candace Cameron Bure “As a working woman, there are so many days that I can feel overwhelmed. I have to remind myself that my joy doesn’t come from the circumstances around me, but from the Lord. He gives me the strength to persevere, endure, and take another step each day.” - Candace Cameron Bure “I started to realize the more I would be willing to talk about my real struggles, the more people felt like, Oh my gosh, me too. If that guy can admit he struggles, then I could too.“ - Shawn Johnson “We’re gonna kiss this fire and walk away whistling. That phrase ‘kiss the fire’ just sort of became almost like a mantra for me. I didn’t talk to anyone else about it, but I would remind myself daily that, I’m not going to give up. I’m not going to quit. I’m not going to stop trusting God, although part of me wants to. I’m not gonna stop believing that He has a plan for my future. I’m not going to stop trying to do the things I think He’s called me to do.” - Shawn Johnson “I work out a lot, and remind myself every day that none of us know how long we’re going to live. And so today I’m going to be a really good dad to my three boys. I’m going to be a good husband to my wife. I’ll try to be a great pastor this week, a good friend.” - Shawn Johnson “A daily devotion is so important because life’s already hard enough, and we need to constantly be reminded that God is with us and that God is working and that God has a plan even when we can’t see it and don’t understand it.” - Shawn Johnson ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! In this special episode, we revisit Bunni Pounds' powerful remarks on America Reads the Bible—a national movement calling believers back to Scripture as the foundation of gratitude, renewal, and hope for our nation. Originally shared at the Pray Vote Stand Summit, hosted by Tony Perkins and the Family Research Council, Bunni casts a compelling vision for America Reads the Bible 2026—a once-in-a-generation effort to unite believers in every state to read the entire Bible aloud, from Genesis to Revelation, in Washington, D.C. and across the nation as we prepare to celebrate America's 250th birthday. This holiday season, as we pause to give thanks, Bunni reminds us that true gratitude flows from God's Word—and that returning to Scripture is essential to rebuilding the spiritual foundations of America. She also highlights how God is weaving together ministries and leaders—Family Research Council, Family Policy Alliance, Candace Cameron Bure, members of Congress, and over 100 national ministries—to declare with one voice: God's Word still speaks, and truth still matters.

In this episode of The Adam Carolla Show, Adam recounts his trip to Palm Springs and how his electric car ran out of battery in the middle of the night. That story sparks a rant about California's looming EV mandate and Gavin Newsom's lawsuit against Trump for canceling it. Adam then tells a hilarious story about “accidentally” giving his vegetarian staff meat tacos and explains his biggest beef with ESPN. He also reacts to a cringeworthy Bill Maher clip featuring Rob Reiner and Amy Klobuchar, and closes out the segment with some sharp observations about Stephen A. Smith's mustache and the possible reasoning behind Michael Jordan's infamous 'stache. In the news, Jason "Mayhem" Miller joins Adam to cover Joe Rogan's claim that two former presidents contacted Spotify over his COVID commentary—which ironically boosted his podcast by 2 million subscribers. They also react to MrBeast's outrageous $500K date night at an empty Disneyland and discuss Candace Cameron Bure's fear that scary movies open portals to Hell. Adam wraps the news segment with a story about the time he was the most terrified in his life, then continues with a breakdown of the recent Indian plane crash. He reacts to a viral video of white protestors blocking a Black woman from getting to work, unleashes a fiery rant on the entitlement of modern-day activists, and explains why he—and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis—believe running over protestors who block traffic might just be justified. She was a face you grew up with—DJ Tanner from Full House—but today, Candace Cameron Bure is a creative force, entrepreneur, and mom of three navigating a media landscape that's changed dramatically since the 1980s. In this refreshingly honest conversation, Candace opens up about what it's like to raise kids in a streaming world—one with infinite entertainment options but fewer shared family experiences. She shares how fame shaped her childhood, how motherhood grounded her, and why she's working so hard to bring back meaningful content that families can enjoy together. Ginny and Candace talk about real transitions—career pivots, unexpected isolation, raising kids in radically different childhoods than their own—and the power of media to connect or divide. Plus, Candace introduces her newest children's book The Crazy Compromise, a heartwarming story about friendship across differences. Whether you're nostalgic for simpler times or just looking for ways to reconnect with your kids in today's media-saturated world, this episode will make you laugh, reflect, and maybe rethink family movie night. ***

Summer Time Sadness Jackie has started her solo journey into Love Island USA S7 a dawg in each hand, while MJ's havin' the exact opposite time and is descending into his Summer of Madness with two schedule free kids, The VERY young and VERY hip MJ crashed his brother and besties 20yr college reunion last weekend, and it had him realizin' that time does indeed keep on slip-slip-slippin'! They're already kickin' Love Islanders off for bein' racist and it makes you wonder what kind of vettin are they actually doing. Not to mention the interesting bestiality factoids another contestant was throwin' down, BUT THEY WERE WROOOOOONG (thankfully)!!!! Candace Cameron Bure is afraid of scary movies and Liquid Death beverages opening demonic portals and its absolutely insane AND there's audio proof of it! There's a cute Variety profile on The Gog and Aimee Lou Wood but everyone's tryin' to make it weird again, Katy Perry tried to be a Werner Herzog and brought a little girl on stage to confuse and terrify her by offering the child her shoe to eat, the Brooke Shields podcast interview that's causing a ruckus has been taken down without anyone saying anything. Olivia Munn says she doesn't like Ms Rachel 'cause kids songs are annoying and it blew up into something more, now everyone's having to be like 'STAHP.' Jackie and Geoff are havin' a literal Flag Day over the weekend where everyone's gonna dress as their favorite flag, which has Jackie feelin' Argentinean. Mileys all over the PR cycle for her new album, which Jackie says is more lowkey, but Miley is also now dealing with a dumb comment she made about Jojo Siwa as well. Tom Cruise got into the Guinness book of world records for the most burning parachute jumps from an individual helicopter, 16, but that doesn't mean all of them are worth watching...  Speakin of Cruise, MJ has spread the world of his fish fuckin' to a trusted friend.  A far too concerned mother shamed a man on social media for seeing Lilo and Stich alone, Jackie reports back that the The Phoenician Scheme is good, and MJ has begun The Rehearsal, all that and more on this weeks Second Helpings!Want even more Page 7?
