This week on Table Talk, Pastors Nick Shepherd and Bobbi Lassiter follow up on Pastor Kyle's sermon series, "More Than a Feeling," by exploring the intersection of faith and love in 1 John 3. They argue that belief and love are inseparable, and that faith is not merely intellectual information but an intimate, lived experience rooted in the recognition of God's abiding love for us.The conversation also highlights the importance of spiritual discernment in navigating the many "voices" that vie for our attention. Using an analogy of students trying to navigate a room while being shouted at by a crowd, they illustrate how difficult it is to hear God's voice amidst the noise of the world. The hosts suggest that hearing and trusting God's voice requires intentional proximity and relationship, much like being able to recognize the voice of a close family member in a lineup of strangers.

In this past Sunday's message, "Radical," Pastor Kyle Doan unpacks what it really means to live a life rooted and grounded in Jesus. Drawing from Ephesians 3, he reminds us that God is calling us back to our roots, to be anchored in His love, and to trust His voice when He speaks. If you're longing to be more grounded, more aware, more secure in His love…this message is for you.
Sunday Morning Message - "Worship and Partnership"In this message from Janaury 18, Pastor Kyle focuses on how the Lord's Prayer teaches us to approach God in worship, declaring "hallowed be your name." We learn that prayer and praise are deeply connected, and that worshipping God in our daily prayer time transforms both us and our circumstances. This approach reminds us of who God is, what He has done, and prepares us to partner with Him in seeing His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
Today, Pastor Kyle starts a mini-series that looks at Lot (Abraham's nephew), his association with the other residents of the city of Sodom, his interaction with his 2 visitors, and how he ended up in the situation he was facing. Given these things, what can we learn that we can apply to our lives today? It's not obvious, but coveting is a part of it. Listen to find out.
If our hearts aren't beating for God and His interests, we'll end up running from one dry well to the next, wondering why it never satisfies. GOOD NEWS! When God gives us a new heart it comes with a new HEARTBEAT! Open a Bible to Acts 11 and follow along with Pastor Kyle.

In this past Sunday's message, "Radical," Pastor Kyle Doan unpacks what it really means to live a life rooted and grounded in Jesus. Drawing from Ephesians 3, he reminds us that God isn't calling us to hype or hustle — He's calling us back to our roots, to be anchored in His love, and to trust His voice when He speaks. If you've ever questioned whether God is really speaking… If you're longing to be more grounded, more aware, more secure in His love…this message is for you.
Sunday Morning Message - "Relationship"In this message from January 11, Pastor Kyle explores the profound truth that Jesus teaches us to approach God in prayer by first establishing our relationship with Him as Father. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, His first word was "Father" - not as a mere formality, but as the foundation for everything that follows. This approach flies in the face of religion and walks us back into relationship with God. Just as Adam and Eve once walked face to face with God in the garden, Jesus is restoring our ability to enter confidently into the presence of our Abba Father through prayer.

Pastor Kyle introduces the 2026 vision for Two Cities Church: Centered on God's Word, Sent into God's world. Grounded in Romans 1:1–6, this message shows how vision begins with God and His Word, centers on the gospel of Jesus Christ, and leads to faith that becomes obedience. Pastor Kyle also unpacks why Romans is a uniquely formative book for the church, and why being “sent” starts with everyday faithfulness—living with purpose in your relationships, your neighborhood, and the nations. This sermon calls the church to be formed before being sent—anchored in Scripture, empowered by grace, and moved to respond through worship, prayer, and mission for the sake of Jesus' name.
Sunday Morning Message - "Place and Promise"In this message from January 4, Pastor Kyle launches a new series, Made to Pray, with a message that sets the foundation for why prayer is not optional—but essential to the life of every believer. Teaching from Luke 11, we'll see the consistent pattern of Jesus intentionally withdrawing to specific places to pray and how that rhythm shaped His life, leadership, and decisions. This message invites us into a new year with a fresh posture toward God—establishing intentional patterns of prayer, coming as students asking, “Lord, teach us to pray,” and trusting the powerful promise that when we ask, seek, and knock, our Heavenly Father responds by giving us His very presence through the Holy Spirit. This message will challenge, encourage, and prepare our hearts for a transformative season of prayer together as a church family.

December 28th, 2025 | Standalone | Acts 6In this powerful and challenging message, Pastor Kyle Riley teaches that forgiveness isn't weakness—it's spiritual strength. Opening with a lighthearted story and moving into the life of Stephen in Acts 6–7, Pastor Kyle shows how a Spirit-filled life is marked by faith without compromise, perseverance without fear, compassion without resentment, and forgiveness without regret.Drawing from Scriptures like 2 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4, Romans 12, and James 1, this message confronts bitterness as one of the enemy's greatest tools and invites believers to exchange wounded identities for lives shaped by grace. Stephen wasn't a pastor, apostle, or influencer—yet his obedience, courage, and radical forgiveness planted seeds that led to revival and the transformation of Saul into Paul.If you've been carrying pain, struggling with resentment, or wondering how to forgive when it feels impossible, this message will remind you that grace fuels forgiveness, forgiveness ignites faith, and prayer—not revenge—is where revival begins.Do you know JESUS?: https://www.nblongview.org/do-you-know-jesusNeed PRAYER?: https://www.nblongview.org/praySUPPORT through giving: https://www.nbbctx.org/giving

Pastor Kyle walks through Luke 2:1-20, showing how God announces the birth of Jesus in an unexpected way to ordinary, overlooked shepherds in the middle of the night. Set against the power of Caesar and the noise of a busy world, this passage reveals that God's good news doesn't arrive through strength, status, or spectacle, but through humility, grace, and divine initiative. This message invites us to slow down and reconsider what we are beholding this Christmas. In a world marked by fear, distraction, and broken peace, we are reminded that true joy flows from good news, real peace comes from giving God glory, and salvation is found not in what we do but in what Christ has done. The Savior has come not to impress the powerful, but to rescue the lost. Jesus enters our darkness with light, our fear with joy, and our striving with grace, inviting us to behold Him, believe the good news, and live transformed lives marked by worship, peace, and praise. In this message, we see: - How God uses ordinary people and unexpected moments to reveal His greatest work - Why the announcement of Jesus' birth is good news—not good advice - The difference between temporary happiness and lasting joy rooted in the gospel - How beholding Christ shapes who we are becoming - Why Jesus enters the mess of our world rather than avoiding it - How God's upside-down kingdom welcomes outsiders and the forgotten - Why glory to God and peace for humanity are inseparably connected
Pastor Brendon continues Pastor Kyle's series on the purpose of Jesus' birth into humanity. Although today's Scripture reference is usually associated with Easter, Jesus makes a clear statement of why He came into the world. Pastor Brendon looks at this and dives into the ramifications of this reason.

Pastor Kyle walks through Matthew 1:18-25, looking at the moment the angel appears to Joseph in a dream. In the middle of fear, confusion, and what felt like betrayal, God meets Joseph with reassurance, direction, and a deeper purpose than he could see. This message invites us to consider how God often works through unexpected circumstances—not just for us, but in us and with us—forming our character, shaping our faith, and reminding us that He is near. In this message, we see: - Why suffering and confusion often tempt us to isolate—and why God designed us to walk through them in community - How Joseph chose character over reputation, trusting God even when the cost was personal and public - The angel's words, “Do not fear,” and what they reveal about trusting God with an uncertain future - The meaning behind the two names given to Jesus: Jesus — “The Lord saves,” reminding us we cannot rescue ourselves. Immanuel — “God with us,” pointing to the miracle of the Incarnation - How Joseph's simple, obedient response shows us what surrender looks like when life doesn't go as planned - This sermon reminds us that God is not distant from our pain or confusion. He steps into it—present, purposeful, and faithful to keep His promises.
This past Sunday, Pastor Kyle Doan shared a powerful, faith-stretching message called “Keep It Moving.” Waiting on the Lord doesn't mean standing still—it means serving expectantly and moving forward in faith. Through a wild, God-orchestrated testimony and Scripture, we were reminded that God often guides us one step at a time, not all at once.If you're feeling stuck…If fear or doubt has parked your faith…If you're wondering which way to go next…This message is for you.
As we enter the Christmas season, we see a lot of Nativity scenes/sets and hear a lot about Jesus Christ's birth. Have you ever wondered WHY Jesus was born; what makes His birth so special; or what should it mean to us, today? Listen as Pastor Kyle addresses these issues as he begins a mini-series for Christmas.
What if you were actually blessed and walking in the favor of God right now and you didn't even realize it? Open a Bible to the Book of Luke and follow along with Pastor Kyle.
Pastor Kyle preaches from Luke 1:26–49, examining the first messengers of Christmas and the angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary. This message highlights her fear, doubt, faith, and surrender—and the profound reality that Christmas begins with God coming to us. In this sermon, you'll learn: God is a sending God. Christmas starts with God—He initiates creation, revelation, and salvation. The gospel is about God coming to us because we cannot go to Him. God comes to unexpected places. Jesus enters the world through Nazareth, a small, overlooked town, reminding us that God identifies with the poor, the least, and the last. God speaks to ordinary people. The first recipients of the Christmas message were two teenagers, Mary and Joseph—showing that Christianity is for every generation. Mary becomes the first Christian and a godly model for women. Mary's unique role in redemptive history. As the mother of God, she displays God's humility in becoming a helpless baby. Her virginity underscores the miraculous and divine nature of Christ's birth. God's favor confronts our fear. Mary was “greatly troubled,” but Gabriel's words—“Do not be afraid… you have found favor with God”—reveal that God's grace is the antidote to fear. Faith grows through community and surrender. Mary brings her doubts (“How will this be?”) to God, finds encouragement with Elizabeth, and ultimately responds with surrender: “Let it be to me according to your word.”
Sunday Morning Message - "Proclaim, Bring, Invite!"In this message from December 7, Pastor Kyle will bring teaching from John 1, and reminds us that just like John the Baptist, we are people sent by God. Every believer is called to live on mission by doing three simple but life-changing things: proclaiming who Jesus is, bringing people into His presence, and inviting others to experience Him for themselves. John proclaimed Jesus as the Lamb of God, Andrew brought his brother to Jesus, and Philip invited a skeptic to “come and see.” Pastor Kyle challenges us to follow the same pattern: boldly proclaim the truth of Christ, intentionally bring people into environments where they can encounter His presence, and lovingly invite them to discover Jesus personally. When we do these things, Jesus does the rest—changing lives, unlocking destinies, and drawing people to Himself.
This week, Pastor Kyle looks into Abraham's discussion with God and what he was asking God for regarding the city of Sodom. Essentially, Abraham was praying (aka talking with God), but doing so face to face. Who was he praying for and why? What can we learn from Abraham's interaction with God as well as God's response to his requests?

Sunday Morning Message - Psalm 145: A Psalm of PraiseIn this message from November 30, Pastor Kyle walks us through Psalm 145, a powerful hymn of praise that celebrates the greatness, goodness, and compassion of our God. David declares that the Lord is worthy of exaltation in every generation because His character never changes—He is gracious, merciful, patient, and overflowing with steadfast love. Psalm 145 reminds us that God is near to all who call on Him and faithful in all His ways, inviting us to respond with worship and trust. As we continue our mini-series, “A Season in Psalms,” we'll see how this psalm lifts our eyes from our challenges to the unmatched majesty of the King who reigns forever.

Have you ever felt the tension between what God has promised and what you currently experience in life? Do you struggle to obey God after receiving a blessing, or wonder how to trust Him when life is painful or hard? In this message, Pastor Kyle unpacks Genesis 21:1-8 and 22:1-14, exploring the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham and the radical test of his faith. Discover the lessons on true faith that continues to trust, obey, and celebrate, even when faced with the most challenging sacrifices. In this sermon, you'll learn: - How God's delays are not denials, and that He fulfills His promises at the time He has spoken. - Why true faith requires continued obedience and celebration, even after receiving what you want. - That God tests us so that we may know what is inside us, helping us grow and develop. - The difference between God's testing (which aims for us to pass) and the devil's temptation (which aims for us to fail). - The importance of immediate obedience, responding to God's call with "Here I am". - The necessity of sacrificing what we love and trusting God with our future, as He ultimately provides the sacrifice. - How the story of Isaac's near-sacrifice foreshadows Jesus Christ's ultimate substitutionary sacrifice. Key Topics Covered: - The 25-year wait between God's promise to Abraham and the birth of Isaac. - Living in the tension between what is seen in God's Word and what is experienced in the world. - The connection between Abraham's sacrifice of his past, present, and future, and the sacrifices God asks of us. - God's motivation methods: the love of God, the rewards of God, and the fear of God. - The significance of the phrase "The Lord will provide" (Jehovah Jireh). - The parallels between Isaac (the son of promise) and Jesus (the ultimate Son of promise). If you're seeking to understand the faithfulness of God in your seasons of waiting, or if you need encouragement to embrace sacrifice and obedience, this message will inspire and challenge you.
Today we're going to see another victorious moment for Joshua. God does a miraculous thing that is unlike any other in Scripture. He had never done it before and He never repeated it after. Open a Bible to Joshua 10 and follow along with Pastor Kyle.
Have you ever felt stuck waiting for God's promises, wrestling with doubt, or wanting answers in a season of silence? In this message, Pastor Kyle unpacks Genesis 17, exploring the covenant God establishes with Abraham, including the unexpected command of circumcision. The message highlights the theme of faith that is tested, marked, and leads to worship and change. In this sermon, you'll learn: - How faith starts with God revealing Himself ("I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless") before calling us to action. - The difference between "walking with God" (fellowship) and being called to "walk before me" (knowing God is watching). - That God desires progress, not perfection, which is captured in the word "blameless" meaning "single-hearted" and wholly devoted to the Lord. - The importance of thinking generationally, as God promises Abraham lineage and a legacy of nations, contrasting with modern short-term, instant thinking. - That faith changes you, as seen in the name change from Abram to Abraham ("father of a multitude of nations") and Sarai to Sarah ("Princess"), showing God redefines identity based on His promise, not their past. Key Topics Covered: - The Three "Greats" in the Bible: Great Commandment, Great Commission, and Great Compassion. - The Sign of the Covenant: Circumcision, and its significance as a personal, painful, and permanent sign of loyalty and sacrifice, which in the New Testament is replaced by Baptism. - Worship and Response: Abraham's emotional response of falling on his face, which is a sign of surrender and is related to the idea of an emotional and volitional response to God's Word. - Immediate Obedience and Leading by Example: Abraham's immediate action to circumcise all the males in his house that very day. - Laughter in Faith: Abraham's initial laughter in response to the promise of a son through a 90-year-old Sarah, and the son's name, Isaac, which means "Laughter".
This week's message from Pastor Kyle Doan, “Living in the Middle,” dives deeper into what we've been walking through in our Home Churches — learning to live at the beautiful intersection of grace and faith. As we continue strengthening the core of who we are as a church, we explore how these three pillars shape our lives, using the story of Nathaniel in John 1 as a powerful picture of how Jesus meets us with grace, draws out our faith, and transforms us through encounter!
Sunday Morning Message - Psalm 62In this message from November 16, Pastor Kyle explores King David's response to insurmountable circumstances and how he chose to anchor his soul in God alone. In a world that constantly demands our attention and offers countless false sources of security, David models for us the discipline of waiting in silence before God. This passage reminds us that what we learn in desperation will help us stay focused on what truly matters when life is well. As we head into the holiday season, this word helps us walk forward with greater perspective and fuller joy, knowing that our hope, identity, stability, and security all rest in Christ alone.
As we continue with Pastor Kyle's series on the life of Abraham and his walk of faith, we come to the place in the narrative where God gives Abraham a timeline of when his son (Isaac) will be born. An improbable thing for such an old couple, but yet God told him (over a decade prior) that he would have a son with Sarah, his wife. How does laughter and wonderment relate to this encounter? Listen to find out.

Today we're going to see how the Israelites had an unholy, downward shift. One BIG THING changed for the Israelites along with a few smaller things that led to this “unholy shift.” They had just dominated Jericho and all the Pagan Nations were terrified of them. Yet, in a matter of days, EVERYTHING CHANGED. Open a Bible to the Book of Joshua and follow along with Pastor Kyle.

Sunday Morning Message - "Spirit-Filled Parenting"In this message from November 2, Pastor Kyle explores God's design for the parent-child relationship and how biblical parenting reflects our relationship with Him. We learn that parenting isn't just about raising better kids—it's about displaying Christ to the next generation. Paul's household codes in Ephesians show us that when parents display obedience to God, it disciples their children toward obedience. Our marriages and our walk with Christ become our loudest witness to our children. This passage calls children to obey and honor their parents "in the Lord," while challenging fathers (and all parents) not to provoke their children but to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. There's something profoundly beautiful about the way God designed families to work. Not just as biological units sharing the same last name, but as spiritual incubators where faith is caught as much as it's taught. The relationships between parents and children aren't merely about keeping order in the home—they're about displaying something far greater: the very nature of God's kingdom.
This message launches a new series on the life of Abraham, where Pastor Kyle highlights Abraham as an example of faith and multiplication. In Genesis 12, we see a contrast between God's promises and human failure, showing that faith is an active response to God's Word, a willingness to go without knowing. Even in Abraham's moments of foolishness and doubt, God's faithfulness and grace shine through, and we see how God uses imperfect people to fulfill His global plan of blessing through one man, Jesus.
How should Christians handle Halloween? This is a question often asked by believers at this time of year. Listen in as Pastor Kyle describes the origins of Halloween and looks at how Christians throughout history dealt with it as well. In addition, is there a way we can use this event to reach others for Christ?
Tests in our lives reveal what's in our hearts. They're how we level up, how we grow, and how we step into new freedom and breakthrough. The good news? Jesus Himself also went through testing and showed us how to do it. Don't miss Pastor Kyle's newest teaching, "Passing Tests!"
Pastor Kyle teaches from Psalm 51, showing that repentance is a hopeful word, not about behavior modification but about heart transformation initiated by the Holy Spirit. He reminds us that all sin is ultimately against God and that true cleansing and restoration are found in Christ alone.
