As we begin to wrap up our week on Jesus's High Priestly prayer, today we look at what it means to reflect God's glory. How could man ever look like God? In our broken, fallen state, can we ever reflect his glory? Let's find out as we explore God's heart and intention behind filling us with his Holy Spirit and giving us his new nature. May your heart and mind be open to God's truth and will for your life today as we seek him together. Our Scripture for today comes from John 17:22-24, and today's worship is You Came (Lazarus) by Bethel Music, Jonathan David Helser, Melissa Helser. Thank you for listening to today's devotional. Has this podcast been a blessing to you? You can help make this a blessing for others as well, by giving a year-end donation to ensure we can continue producing this show and reach even more listeners in 2024. First15 has set a $378,160 goal to be reached by December 31 so that together, we can end the year strong and help more people connect with God in 2024. So I want to ask you to give a generous gift to help reach the goal. And right now your gift will be DOUBLED by a $65,000 Matching Grant provided by a generous friend of the ministry.. Your gift today will help First15 produce more children's versions of our devotionals to help the next generation connect with God; and produce new releases of First15 music for more powerful moments of worship as well as create more in-depth prayer videos. All of this is in addition to the continued release of the daily devotionals that are experienced by nearly 2 million believers in email, podcast, web and app format. Click the link in the show notes or go to supportfirst15.org to give today. That's supportfirst15.org. Thank you for your support, and may God bless you as you seek him.

Get into the habit of saying, “Speak, Lord,” and life will become a romance. (1 Samuel 3:9) – Oswald Chambers Friends, Jonathan David Helser teaches, “In the Garden, it all began with a kiss. God's first moment with us is…messy." And though we started out as dirt in the cherishing hands of the Trinity, our God invites us into more. Over a lifetime of maturing, we are intended to become the children, the friends, and, finally, the lovers of God. The Helsers have consented for decades to the movement and invitation of God in their lives. It hasn't been easy. It hasn't been cheap. It hasn't been quick. But through them, God is blazing a path for generations of disciples to become the friends and lovers of God. In time and over time, they've practiced trusting the affection of God rather than trusting their gifting. A thousand times a thousand, they've chosen to receive and rest in the bottom-line reality that God's love is better than life itself—and they're inviting us to do the same. Come along into Part 3 of this series as we follow the Helsers on the path and process of becoming the sons, daughters, and lovers of God. For the Kingdom, Morgan "I will take delight in you. As a groom rejoices over his bride, so will I rejoice over you." – Isaiah 62

Today we continue our week long focus on the Holy Spirit by exploring what it means for us to grow in friendship with him. We'll never have a kinder, more present friend than the God who dwells within us. Our Scripture for today comes from Psalm 25:14, and today's worship is I Am Your Beloved & Running Home by Jonathan David Helser, Melissa Helser. -- We are so excited to share our latest worship song, Coming Through, featuring Jeremiah Brinkley! We're uploading two Concert Friday songs today- depending on your mood. One is loud and one is soft and quiet. This is the soft, quiet one. Its by Jonathan David Helser and called 'Abba". I listen to this song almost every night as I am going to bed. It's a beautiful reminder of the same truth that our LOUD song is also about: We belong to a God who holds us in His love.Go back to the list of Daily Prayer and you will see the LOUD one in the list (it's got the same cover artwork).Enjoy!

Psalm 9:9-20 9 The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, * a refuge in time of trouble. 10 Those who know your Name will put their trust in you, * for you never forsake those who seek you, O Lord. 11 Sing praise to the Lord who dwells in Zion; * proclaim to the peoples the things he has done. 12 The Avenger of blood will remember them; * he will not forget the cry of the afflicted. 13 Have pity on me, O Lord; * see the misery I suffer from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gate of death; 14 So that I may tell of all your praises and rejoice in your salvation * in the gates of the city of Zion. 15 The ungodly have fallen into the pit they dug, * and in the snare they set is their own foot caught. 16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice; * the wicked are trapped in the works of their own hands. 17 The wicked shall be given over to the grave, * and also all the peoples that forget God. 18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten, * and the hope of the poor shall not perish for ever. 19 Rise up, O Lord, let not the ungodly have the upper hand; * let them be judged before you. 20 Put fear upon them, O Lord; * let the ungodly know they are but mortal. Mark 4:35-41 (NRSV) On that day, when evening had come, Jesus said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” And leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him. A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” And they were filled with great awe and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” The Apostles' Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and eart --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/prayerandworship/message

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. Take a second to fathom how beautiful that truly is. Today, may your heart be stirred to take advantage of the unbelievable gift prayer is today as you experience God.
