The Lachlan Galvin saga has continued this week, leading to this bonus edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. After a strong debate after the story broke on Monday night, followed by more analysis by Eddie and the boys on Wednesday, we now have this third pod for the week. We take a look at the press conferences held by Benji Marshall, then Wests Tigers' captains, Api Koroisau and Jarome Luai. Joel, Garry, and Nick give their thoughts on what was said and why we're starting to see the potential positives of testing out the coach and players' responses to a situation like this. Most importantly, comparing that response to what we have seen in the past from our club and playing group. Is this going to be the issue that finally helps turn Wests Tigers into a more focused and battle-hardened team? Let's make a statement against the Eels! We then turn our attention to the big Monday afternoon clash with the Parramatta Eels at CommBank Stadium. The Easter Monday fixture looks set to be a memorable encounter with the Wests Tigers no doubt out to tell the world they're bigger and better this year, with or without Galvin. The stats show Wests Tigers should be firm favourites, and the Eels have also lost a few players in recent days, but they do welcome back Mitch Moses for the game. We also look at the reshuffle of the Tiger's team, including the move to the halves for Adam Doueihi, and hopefully the remergence of Luai in Batman mode. The return of experienced centre Brent Naden also draws our attention. Big guests at the Ambush. Don't forget to get along to the free Ambush event before the game at CommBank, with two special guests ensuring it should be a memorable experience. Jeral Skelton will be a guest, as will Latu Fainu, and Garry will get the chance to interview both injured Wests Tigers stars. What we hear from Latu should be of particular interest! We hope you enjoy this bonus edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

As the Panthers' form slumps, we debate the critical question: Who are they missing more: Fisher-Harris or Luai? We analyse their roles and the impact of their absence on the Panthers' performance. The sin bin rule that shook up Round 5, is consistency on the cards for Round 6? For the game's sake, we hope so.In a surprising team shift, Latrell Mitchell has been named to play at five-eighth this week, filling in for the absent Cody Walker. It's been six years since Mitchell last played in this position, but the potential is limitless for the Rabbitohs. We also prep you for Round 6 with our tips, diving into the key matchups and providing essential stats. Wests Tigers' effort would make any fan proud, but we fell short on Saturday night. Taking on the high-flying Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, the Wests Tigers succumbed 46-24 despite playing arguably some of our best football so far this season. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel is joined by Nick and Declan to analyze the Wests Tigers' performance. Some of the key talking points include: Physicality - how we're still not consistently winning the collision Lachlan Galvin's short kicking game The performance of Galvin and Latu Fainu Luke Laulilii's first game for the season The Terrell May V Payne Haas battle up front What this side might be able to do with Skelton, Luai, and Samuela Fainu available Naturally, there are all the 'One Word' submissions from members of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum too. Wests Tigers fans are a bit confused about how the team is performing? We take a look at "Richo's Meter" to try and ascertain if the Tigers' performance was Awful, Poor, Average, Good, or Great. There's some discussion too about Jahream Bula and his positioning in defense, and one podcast team member makes a big call in regards to comparisons with the Broncos number one. And our attention towards forwards as well, with a look at the importance of this weekend's game against the Knights. Speaking of the Knights, there are some reports their backrower Kai Pearce-Paul might be on our radar, we look at what the Englishman could potentially bring to our team. And don't forget there's an Ambush event that you are warmly invited to this weekend at the Wests Ashfield Leagues Club. Come along and watch the Tigers claim win number three in good Wests Tigers company! It's another big edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, we hope you enjoy it. Wests Tigers started the 2025 NRL season on a losing note, succumbing to the Knights 10-8. The loss at Campbelltown Stadium in front of a healthy and revved up crowd makes it seven straight losses against the Newcastle side. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast we pull apart that Friday evening game and try to find exactly what went wrong. One of the items up for discussion is the clunkiness of the Jarome Luai and Lachlan Galvin halves partnership. What can be done to fix this? Did the club make a mistake not playing Luai in the trial against the Eels? And why we need to find some more depth in our attack. Also under the microscope is the poor kicking games exhibited by both halves. There's also a look at how the return of Api Koroisau, Starford To'a and Jerome Bula might help fix some of the offensive issues that we all witnessed on Friday. What happened to the defense? The statistics show that Wests Tigers missed a mammoth 52 tackles in the loss to the Knights, we try to investigate what happened and what can also be done here to remedy the issues. While it isn't all worries and concerns, we also highlight a few bright spots out of the game. Thank you to everyone who left their 'One Word' submissions on the game at the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. We run through all of those with a good mix of both pessimistic and optimistic feelings on where the Wests Tigers stand after another Knights loss. More roster changes? And we take a look at some impending changes to the roster with David Klemmer and Justin Olam potentially off the books as early as this week. While another former Panther might be about to join the Wests Tigers stable! Thanks for your support and we look forward to bringing you the next edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast mid-week.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Wests Tigers will welcome seven new players tomorrow evening at Campbelltown Stadium. After months and months of waiting, Premiership winners Jarome Luai and Sunia Turuva will finally run out in our colours for the first time. Joining new buys Jack Bird, Terrell May, Jeral Skelton, Royce Hunt, and Tristan Hope, the premiership winning pair are a further welcome addition. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel, Declan and Steve preview this big round one clash with the Knights. Where do the Tigers look to have an advantage, and what worries us about the Knights' lineup? What do the Tigers need to do to end the six-match winning streak the Knights hold over us? And we give our predictions on how the match will play out. Well done Wests Tigers media team. This podcast also features a response to the new 'Thrive or Survive' video posted by the club on YouTube yesterday. While certain members of the Wests Tigers Podcast have been a bit critical of the efforts of the media team at the club over the off-season, this is redemption. The video gives you an intimate, behind the scenes look at the players and coaches and would have to be one of the best productions we've seen from Wests Tigers. Congratulations to all involved, and we look forward to seeing future episodes. The return of the quiz! Yioti's Quiz is also back for this first in-season edition of the podcast with the quizmaster reminding us of some early moments in Benji Marshall's playing career, and names from the Wests Tigers past. And win, lose or draw, please don't forget to leave your one-word submissions on the Wests Tigers V Knights game on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. Stay safe, especially if you're in a cyclone affected area, and enjoy the game!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The storylines for the 2025 NRL season run deep. In Brisbane, they've got an ex-NSW coach working with a glut of stars chasing redemption. In Sydney, Jarome Luai could shape the fortune of two clubs that finished at opposite ends of the 2024 ladder. The Panthers are trying to defy gravity. Luai Ahmed was raised in the most fundamentalist Islamist culture in Yemen, where hatred of Jews, gays, and Kafirs was not only preached, but practiced. When he realized that he himself was gay, he had to plot an escape. In this riveting interview, Ahmed recounts his extraordinary journey from his upbringing in Yemen where he was inches from becoming a Houthi himself, and the ideas beliefs his family and friends still hold, to his new life as an advocate for peace and understanding in Sweden. He describes the shock and fear of meeting a Jew for the first time, the realities of Sweden's refugee camps as Islamists indoctrination mills, the tragedy and perversion of Sweden's support in the Middle East, and much more.He is fierce critic of Europe's simplistic approach to multiculturalism and immigration, with a unique perspective on the challenges of integration, and the dangers of domestic radicalization. He eloquently points out the hypocrisy in Western media and political discourse, where issues like the persecution of Jews in Malmö by immigrants are underreported or ignored due to fears of being labeled racist. Ahmed calls for more balanced and honest discussions about these issues to foster a more inclusive and understanding society, and today he fights alongside Israeli friends for democracy, human rights, and a peaceful future for our region—an activist in the “Builders of the Middle East” movement on social media.Follow Luai Ahmed at:https://www.instagram.com/justluaiAnd The Builders of the Middle East:instagram.com/buildersofmideast/ Stay up to date at:https://www.stateofanationpodcast.com/X: https://twitter.com/stateofapodInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/stateofapod/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
