AJ and Rhys cap off a successful but strangely predictable NRL season with a recap of a spectacular Grand Final Day. The boys celebrate the success of the Penrith Panthers as they celebrate four successive premierships, a feat that hasn't been achieved since the greatest Dragons side that won 11 on the bounce. We look at the stars of the night including Clive Churchill Medallist Liam Martin. AJ again asks if Isaah Yeo is the greatest lock of the modern era after an under the radar grand final performance. We also offer our condolences to Melbourne who gave Penrith one big fright and ask whether they showed too many attacking plays in their blowout of the Roosters. We also analyse how their attack just lacked that final umph to get them over the top. Also this Grand Final Day we saw wins for the Roosters and Devils in the NRLW and State Championship. The boys conclude our regular season with a look at the Australian representative sides as well as the awarding of our LOLCOW of the Week.
It's a full Grand Final review on Corbin & Ben. ABC AFL commentators Corbin Middlemas and Ben Cameron reflect on how they will remember this Brisbane Lions triumph. Is Chris Fagan really Ted Lasso? Was that a legacy game for Lachie Neale? Richmond champion and ABC Sport expert Brett Deledio critiques the Norm Smith voting from Grand Final Day. Plus what are the key questions in the AFL that will be answered by the time the show returns from 2025?

This week we go back in time with West Coast Eagle premiership player Chris Waterman. Chris reminisces about his career, reflects on some of his favorite moments and people in the game. Chris, an East Fremantle football product, joined the West Coast Eagles in 1988, their second season in the VFL. He debuted that season and was a permanent fixture in the Eagles defense for the next 11 seasons, playing 177 games, including the 1992 and 1994 premiership victories. In this chat, Chris talks about the Eagles early years in the national competition, realising the high and low of Grand Final Day, being a part of a connected back six and coaching in the AFL system. A great listen with the ninetieth member of 'The 90's Club Footy Podcast'. This episode has been produced by Set Sounds.
Ryan has been clean and sober for 15 years, since Grand Final Day 2009. An active, fit and healthy young man, playing AFL throughout his younger years, he had his first drink at 16. That lead to a pathway of bad choices and almost ruined his life. He first asked for help at 21 years old, then the battle was on to finally make it into 12 step fellowship, the day he says changed his life forever. He believes these steps have saved his life multiple times, even through a recent gambling addiction, he has now luckily overcome. If he's not at work, you'll find him in the surf, on the golf course, or working with other alcoholics to pass on to others the gift of recovery, the gift of life that he's been given.
