What's the old saying, 'two steps forward, one step back'. Well it felt like more than one step back in what was a diabolical second half, resulting in Storm going down to a desperate Bulldogs team. Stormy Daniel share his thoughts on what went wrong and continues to plague these second half fade outs which have become all too common in Season 2026, which no doubt is driving the coaching staff mad as to why these performances continue to occur. Stormy Daniel covers off on pathways results, what's making Storm news, including the news that Melbourne will be featuring in the NRL's fourth instalment of Las Vegas, kicking off their 2027 campaign against Wests in Sin City. Your listener questions along with team list Tuesday - who has been named to take on the Sydney Roosters? Will the Storm's Origin contingent back up? They will need to if able, to overcome a strong Roosters outfit who are flying. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

In one of the biggest episodes of Sportscafe Australia, we sit down with Sydney Roosters star Angus Crichton and Sydney Swans midfielder Chad Warner for a blockbuster conversation covering both codes. Angus opens up about his final season as a Rooster - eight years, 150+ games, and the emotional reality of knowing the end is coming. He gets candid about his upcoming code switch to rugby union, why the Wallabies dream has never left him, and what it feels like to become a dad during the biggest transition of his career. Chad Warner joins fresh off Swans training to talk about Sydney's red-hot 2026 season, what makes the Swans culture different from any other club in the competition, and Sydney Sweeney visiting the locker rooms. We also settle the NRL vs AFL debate once and for all - who actually runs more, who works harder, and which code demands more from its athletes. However, it's what underpins our society, and this week our guest Allegra Spender joins us to talk about her Tax Reform White Paper and how she thinks it could shape our future. Danny Weidler & Adam Pengilly are back for another episode of Triple M NRL's The Journos! Led by Charlie White the boys sink their teeth into more drama in Brisbane! Ben Te'o, assistant coach shockingly exited the club after alleged issues with his superior Michael Maguire. Though, Danny Weidler reveals exactly what went down after his chats with the Broncos and disputes the information that's been revealed so far. The drama in Brisbane though hasn't overshadowed Daly Cherry-Evans return to Brookvale Oval, but there are more storylines ahead of Sydney Roosters trip to Manly Sea Eagles. A premiership contender is fading, a head coach is under the pump, there is drama engulfing both the Eastern and Northern Beaches! And another headache for the Roosters is from their noisy neighbours South Sydney Rabbitohs who can now officially call Sydney Football Stadium home! And the St George Illawarra Dragons are under the pump as they still sit winless to start the season. An interesting theory is floated that may become a reality for the Saints. It's Round 2, 2026 and already things are falling apart. Anthony Siebold is sleeping fitfully after Manly-Warringah disintegrated in front of the eyes of all at Lottoland. The Warriors smashed the Sydney Roosters 42-18 in front of a sold-out home crowd to open their season in league's NRL with a bang. Playmakers Chanel Harris-Tavita and Tanah Boyd had their hands in three tries each. Harris-Tavita scored two and set up one, while Boyd crossed for the opener and assisted two. Boyd told Piney it was an extremely satisfying result. He says you work so hard in the preseason, and to see it come out in last night's performance was obviously very pleasing. Cautious optimism from Warriors league coach Andrew Webster that his side can make another NRL leap this year. They start their campaign tomorrow against the Sydney Roosters at Mount Smart without co-captain Mitch Barnett and halfback Luke Metcalf, as both are returning from knee injuries. Webster told Mike Hosking that last year's opening match serves as a reminder of over evaluating a pre-season. He says they're comfortable where they are, but until you get punched in the face round one, you don't really know where you're at. The Warriors finished sixth last year, exiting in the first round of the finals to Penrith. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Wests Tigers travelled to Newcastle for the club's first NRL trial of 2026 on Saturday and, despite a shaky start, came away with an impressive 42-26 victory over the Sydney Roosters. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel, Josh, Declan, and Jordan take a look at what the win means for the club and team for the upcoming season. Fielding a side made up of some of the most promising young players in the club, the performance of guys like Heamasi Makasini, Faaletino Tavana, Javon Andrews, Jared Haywood, and Jack Attard is put under the microscope. Speaking of Tavana, how about that incredible try? We talk about this memorable moment and look at what his future might be in the game. While the boys also look at whether the returning Jock Madden has taken another step to an NRL return with Wests Tigers, debate whether Charlie Murray should be considered for the NRL side in round two, and whether Patrick Herbert did his chances of seeing first grade any harm in a solid first hit-out for the club. There's a run-through of all the 'One Word' responses to the game on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum (thanks to everyone who contributed). Some of the other topics up for discussion included:Was what we saw on Saturday a sign that the club's investment in pathways is starting to pay off?Are we more optimistic about the club's depth for 2026?Is there going to be more competition for spots?Away from the trial game in Newcastle, our attention also turned to Royce Hunt's performance playing for the Maori All Stars this afternoon in New Zealand, as well as giving our thoughts on how the new-look Wests Tigers jersey came across on TV, and naming the thing we are most looking to see in this weekend's NRL trial against the Panthers. It is another big edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. We hope you enjoy a sometimes hard-to-find post-victory edition!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/wests-tigers-podcast--6660380/support.
