Campfire Adventures is a weekly podcast that shares the telling of scary stories around a campfire. The stories might sound CRAZY maybe even CREEPY, but more importantly the time we spend together will be COOL. With help from guests and commentary from the audience, our narrator (Dylan) welcomes you to enjoy listening to each weeks tale.
Happy 4th Bday Campfire Adventures! I still have to release our official birthday episode, but to hold us over I recorded a special episode with our co host Camper Jacob! We are going to explore an urban legend from the late 1800's. There's a mother and daughter who went on a holiday and during their lay over their lives would change forever. Take a listen and follow along as Jacob and I try to piece together the events of what actually happened to this mother and daughter. Enjoy!
On the eve of Epiphany it is said that there is a witch named La Befana that visits the homes of children in Italy. If you are good she will leave a treat, but if you are naughty then you aren't as lucky. Her tradition started in the 13th century and has continued into today's holiday season. Now is she a good witch or a bad witch, maybe decide that after you hear this week's episode. Enjoy the episode and of course your holiday season.
Have you had a chance to watch the new movie TRAP? Well if you haven't, then I think you should login to HBO Max and push play. In the movie you will follow a story about how the police force try to get a murderer off the street while they hide in plain sight amongst innocent people. Sounds good right? Well it's lightly based on a true story so that makes it even better. The inspirational event was called Operation Flagship and it was when the US Marshall and the local police stations worked together to do one of the biggest stings in history to capture convicts. Take a listen to this week's episode and find out what happens. Enjoy!
Well it's about that time we made it to the end of the Halloween season. I hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween this year. To wrap everything up we have one more episode that was inspired by a true story that inspired a scary movie. The movie is named The Lighthouse and it follows the lives of two workers who are in charge of running this lighthouse out in the middle of the ocean. Egos and personalities get in the way and eventually it leads to how the movie ends, but I'll leave it at that. But the crazy thing is that it was all based on a true story. There was a lighthouse off the coast of Wales where two keepers suffered a tragedy. I'm not really sure how to say a brief summary of this episode without giving too much away except for their lives were never the same and the events changed history. Enjoy the episode!
In this week's episode we are going to dive into the true story that inspired the movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Have you ever seen this movie? Well if not you can on Amazon Prime or just listen to this episode and I'll give you a brief synopsis. However what you might not know is that this movie is based on the true life of Anneliese Michel. Her story isn't easy to listen to, it involves epileptic episodes, demon possession and even exorcisms. It's a heavy story, but it needs to be shared, so take a listen and let me know your thoughts.
Continuing with Halloween episodes, I picked a story this week that inspired the movie The Strangers. Have you ever heard about the Keddie Cabin Murders? In 1981 this town would be forever changed when four people were murdered in cabin #28. To this day the murders has gone unsolved and I feel like I have so many questions. Take a listen and let me know what you think. Also P.S. this episode has a lot of heavy parts so be prepared.
It's that time of the year again! Happy Halloween season everyone, and to kick things off I figured we'd cover the true story of one of my favorite scary movies The Conjuring. If you haven't seen this movie yet then I'd recommend giving it a watch, it's available on HBO Max now, but if not I will give a brief synopsis of the movie in the episode. Basically were covering the true story of how this family of 6 the Perrons moved into their new home and were plagued with hauntings specifically of a witch Bathsheba. Take a listen and I hope you enjoy it!
There is a phantom, alien or maybe just a legend about a man found in West Virginia that perpetually smiles. You might be wondering what that means, basically when this being is seen all you see is a man that has this wide smile stuck on his face. He was only seen two times in the 1960's and has been associated with the Mothman (who P.S. has his own episode). Is this being sinister or just trying to help, maybe you can decide after I share the few accounts we have about this cryptid we now know as Indrid Cold aka The Smiling Man.
Welcome Campers to the newest episode of Campfire Adventures! This week we are telling a story with a little bit of a twist. It's going to involve some true crime and ultimately it turns into a story about one of America's most haunted houses. This is the story about Lizzie Borden and the murder that took place in her family home in Fall River, Massachusetts. Ultimately Lizzie's father and step mother were gruesomely murdered, but the events that led up to this and what happened after are what keep this story relevant and also created the storyline for this haunted house. With that said I hope you enjoy the episode and let me know what you think.
It's that time of the year again, Jordan has taken over the podcast. This week she tells us a tale of a legendary Japanese spirit known as Kuchisake-Onna. A once beautiful woman who suffered a mutilation that left her unalived. During our annual adventures around Los Angeles we paused at the Old LA Zoo to take a moment and share this story with you. Let us know what you think. Enjoy!
Annnnnddddd we're back! Now what would be better for our return then a story about a Bigfoot! However, we're going to Australia for this one. It is known as the Yowie and it has been evading the public for years. So much so that the sightings come few and far between, but when they happen they've been shared with the news outlet. Listen to the episode and let me know what you think, does Australia have its own Bigfoot?
We're back Campers! Sorry for the delay, but here is a new episode of Campfire Adventures. In this week's episode we look into the story of the Nain Rouge. There is a road in Oahu that leads to an area known as Morgan's Corner! The area is connected with an Urban Legend and also a murder! The two aren't connected at all, but it's a crazy coincidence. The urban legend is told across the world and has solidified itself within the local communities. The murder that took place changed the legal system on the island forever. Enjoy!
Ok this ones inspired by an episode of Unsolved Mysteries that I watched when I was a kid. Ok, I probably wasn't supposed to watch the episode at the time, but hey here we are now. In this episode we are going to re-explore the episode and see if there are any updates we can share with you. What happened you ask? Well one day it started raining in Oakville, Washington (surprise) only the rain coming down wasn't your typical rain. Enjoy!
It only took one night for this week's cryptid to become a local legend. In Flatwoods, West Virginia there was a light that brightened up the night sky on September 12, 1952. There were multiple accounts shared with the media, but it was the accounts made by the May family and friends that became the “true” story of the cryptid. Ladies and Gentlemen I'd like to introduce you to the Flatwoods Monster. Enjoy!
This week, mystery is on the docket and it's a crazy one. A brief synopsis is that in 1953 a F-89c Scorpion Jet went missing while pursuing a UFO over Lake Superior. Actually that's the bulk of the story, but in this episode we cover the timeline of the event connected to the pursuit. The idea of an extraterrestrial UFO was passed around and still holds curiosity, but take a listen and let me know what you think. Enjoy!
In this week's episode I'd like to share the story of the alleged first female serial killer. Her name was Lavian Fisher and she lived with her husband John in an Inn leading up to Charleston, South Carolina. As travelers made their way to the city they would have to make stops along the way, as it would turn out there were alot of disappearances and robberies associated with the Fishers house. In this episode we cover the legend of Lavinia Fisher and how they used their Inn for evil. Enjoy!
Who wants to go on an adventure? Well what if I told you we were going to the end of the world? Ok ok, it's not the end of the world, but it is at the most southern point of South America and it is an adventurers paradise. It's an aquatic cryptid unlike any other that we've talked about and I hope you enjoy hearing about it. Enjoy!

Take a listen and enjoy also if you know anything I missed please feel free to let me know.
How does covering a murder mystery sound for this week's episode? Well I hope you said yes because we are coving an Axe Murder House from Villisca, Iowa. It all went down in 1912 when a family returned from a church event on the night of June 9th. It seemed like the next day started off just like any other until the neighbors noticed the Moore family home was oddly quiet. To hear what happens next, take a listen and let me know. Enjoy!

Now is there a way to combat them or are they even really real? Take a listen to this week's episode and find out. Enjoy!

In a world full of supernatural entities have you ever heard of a hole in Washington state known as Mel's Hole? Well if you haven't then get ready for a crazy story. In 1997 there was a call made to an early morning paranormal radio station called Coast to Coast AM. The host Art Bell entertains this story from a man named Mel Waters, where he goes into detail about how there is this other worldly hole on his property. Things have been thrown in the hole, tests have been conducted to figure out its depth and the government allegedly even got involved for a cover up. Or maybe you know him as Charlie No Face. If not in this episode we talk about the myth of a cryptid that walks up and down the night roads of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I'm not sure if a run in with these creatures is ideal, but surprisingly a number of people actually had an encounter with the person who inspired the urban legend. Now with that I'm going to let you enjoy the episode to hear more!
Kicking off a new year of stories I thought it might be a good idea to go down to Mexico and South America. No we didn't get a chance to take a trip out to these countries, but I did find a story involving them all. Have any of you ever heard of a creepy crawler known as La Mano Peluda? It translates to The Hairy Hand, and if you haven't heard of it then no worries because we got you covered. There are a few various origins for this cryptid, but what I can tell you is that it hunts at night for unsuspecting victims. Even using your bathroom at night could prove to be a mistake. Take a listen to this week's episode and hear all about it.

This painting's connection to destruction, emotion and the supernatural is both believable and questionable. We dive into the creation of the paintings and the media's coverage that followed the success and fall of the series. Enjoy the episode and let me know what you think.
In the Cherokee community there is a creature that has been born from fear. Now we are human so we have plenty of fears, but the one in particular that our cryptid is born from is the fear we have of death. Take a listen to this week's episode to hear how you might be able to survive an encounter. Enjoy!
When you're searching for Luxury Apartments in New York then you should look into a complex known as The Dakota. When you think of giants what do you envision? Did you think of those large human looking creatures that say fee-fi-fo-fum? Well that's what I would have thought they looked like too, but after researching this week's story I question if they might actually resemble Bigfoot. I recently heard about an island that's filled with giants, its located off the east coast of Papua New Guinea. The island is known as Solomon Islands and stories have been told about these local giants for generations and as of now people are searching for the truth. Take a listen to this week's episode and let me know what you think.
This week we are going to dive into another mystery and this one remains unsolved almost 50 years after the events took place. In this week's episode we break down the events that took place and the theories surrounding what happened. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
In this week's episode we attempt to solve a mystery that has puzzled Americans for over 500 years. Ok well maybe we don't actually solve anything, but we are definitely going to talk about it. So our story takes place on Roanoke Island, North Caroline back in the late 1500's. There was a group of over 100 English settlers who tried to call the land home, until someone came looking for them and there was no trace of anyone living on the island. Take a listen to this week's episode to hear more about the situation. Enjoy!

To wrap up our series of the true stories behind scary movies for the Halloween season we are going to look into the movie Poltergeist. We didn't just find the true story, but we uncovered an alleged curse haunting the cast. So in this episode we learn about how the Herrmann family went through their own version of a poltergeist. And then there's this curse, so apparently the cast has been afflicted by an eerie feeling from being part of this classic film and then there are other accounts of 6 people who had life threatening or ending situations. Now with all that said it's time for us to get into this week's episode.
In this week's episode we are going to cover the true story behind the Netflix movie Things Heard & Seen. The story used is of an ax murder that happened in Brighton, New York in 1982. It was a 40 year old cold case that as of recent has been solved or has it? The premise of this murder is that a man named Jim returned home from work on February 19th of 1982 and what he found was his wife Cathy laying lifeless in their bed with an ax in her head. As the investigation ensued it became clear that this case would be unlike any other. With all that said it's time for us to get into this week's episode. Enjoy!

He is a man that grew up in an abusive household which in turn led him to a life of crime. Within this episode we are going to touch on some sensitive topics like abuse, murder and sexual violence. If you feel like this might be too hard to listen to, I understand, but sometimes we need to talk about monsters like this so we know what we can do if we find ourselves in a similar experience.
Did you know there was a house in New York that was legally declared haunted? In 1991 there was a legal battle between the buyer and seller of a 1890's Victorian Style home and it's all because it was allegedly haunted. For this week's episode I'm going to do my best to explain in "Dylan terms" the various legal and real estate terms used to break down this case. So get ready to think, but enjoy hearing how the result of this legal battle ended up being called the Ghostbusters Ruling. Enjoy!
