Often compared to the Bermuda Triangle for its mysterious disappearances and paranormal phenomena, the Alaska Triangle stretches from Anchorage to Juneau, reaching up to Barrow, engulfing much of the state's wilderness. This episode uncovers the harsh geographic and environmental challenges that contribute to the numerous missing cases, and the tales of supernatural forces at play, including energy vortexes, alien activities, and mythical creatures like the Kushtaka, which legend says lures people away from safety. In the heart of this mysterious zone lies Mount Hayes, a location shrouded in more than just ice and snow; it's rumored to host a hidden alien base beneath its surface. We dive deep into the conspiracy theories fueled by leaked documents suggesting extraterrestrial monitoring and experimentation activities within the mountain. Additionally, we explore the fascinating and secretive Project Stargate, a government initiative that used psychics like Pat Price to spy on the Soviets during the Cold War. Price's remote viewing sessions reportedly revealed alien and military collaborations deep within Mount Hayes, adding layers to the intrigue. Join us as we explore the chilling stories, the unexplained phenomena, and the shadowy figures that may be operating just beyond the reach of our understanding in the Alaska Triangle. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/john-taylor-timmons/support
Send us a Text Message. We are headed to the United States' largest state by area, Alaska, known as the Last Frontier State. This might go down in history as Kenzie's favorite episode because she gets to talk about otters the WHOLE time. She shares with us the legend of the Kushtaka, a giant otter-man that comes from Tlingit folklore. Legend says the Kushtaka will trick you into following them deep into the Alaskan wilderness, only to never be seen or heard from again. Then, Lauren redeems herself and concludes the story of the Devil's Chair. Afterwards, she tells us about the SS Baychimo, a steel-hulled, 1,322 ton cargo steamer built in 1914 in Sweden and owned by the Hudson's Bay Company. She became a notable ghost ship along the Alaskan coast, being abandoned in 1931 and seen numerous times since then until her last sighting in 1969. This episode will make you think twice about exploring Alaska's vast wilderness, especially alone.--Follow us on Social Media and find out how to support A Scary State by clicking on our Link Tree: https://instabio.cc/4050223uxWQAl--Have a scary tale or listener story of your own? For our last show of the year, we continue our foray into the high strangeness that is Christmas, Yule, and the dark winter months. Author and Ghostly Talk's very own "writer in residence" Mark Onspaugh shares some strange tales, folklore and of course his original story specially written for this show, "The Best Gift Ever" and a retelling of the heartstring puller "Vulpecula." Isolated versions of Mark's stories are available at www.ghostlytalk.com. Make sure to check out Mark's books on Amazon! Bio: Mark Onspaugh is a native Californian who grew up on a steady diet of horror, science fiction and DC Comics. He's a proud member of the Horror Writers Association and the International Thriller Writers association. In addition to the produced film Kill Katie Malone, he has several other screenplays in various stages of development, and was also one of the writers of the cult favorite “Flight of the Living Dead”. While Onspaugh is definitely a fan of the horror genre, he also writes science fiction and comedy. He polished his comedy writing (and improv skills) at the Groundlings Theater in L.A., where he studied under Lisa Kudrow (“Friends”), Michael McDonald (“Mad TV”) and Heather Morgan (“The Dana Carvey Show”). Earlier in his career, Onspaugh studied Special Effects Makeup in college and continued to pursue this passion under the tutelage of premier makeup artist Thomas R. Burman (“Invasion of the Body Snatchers”,” Cat People”, “Scrooged”) with additional lectures by such notables, among others as Oscar-winning makeup artist Rick Baker (“American Werewolf in London”, “Men in Black”, “Planet of the Apes”). An active member of the Horror Writers Association, Onspaugh has won recognition for his screenwriting and a novel, Kushtaka, at the Austin Film Festival and the Writers Network competition, respectively. In 2003, his feature scripts, RAZORFISH and STRANGERS both made the second round at the Austin Film Festival. In 2007, his script THE DEAD LIFE was a quarterfinalist in the 9th annual Scriptapalooza competition. STRANGERS is a backdoor pilot for a series of the same name. Onspaugh has written the STRANGERS bible, debut episode and a regular episode. Onspaugh's previous television credits, include episodes for Night Man (“Burning Love”), X-Men Animated (“Secrets, Not Long Buried”) and Street Fighter Animated (“Getting in Guile”). Mark knows people expect horror writers to be lurking misanthropes, but hasn't lurked since leaving L.A. A native Angeleno, he now lives on the central coast of California with his wife, author/artist Tobey Crockett and two off-kilter cats.

Agradece a este podcast tantas horas de entretenimiento y disfruta de episodios exclusivos como éste. ¡Apóyale en iVoox! Temp V No hagáis ruido. Creo que algo me venía persiguiendo ahí fuera. Dejé de oírlo en aquellos arbustos. Perdonadme, pero me he asustado bastante. Deep in the wild Alaskan Wilderness comes the tale of a creature as cold as the winter wind. According to some accounts, this creature can take the form of one of your loved ones and use that as bait to lure you to it. If you are foolish enough to fall for this trap, it will drag you into the river, maul you with claws, and steal your immortal soul. The Tlingit people believe that while this creature might present itself at a moment of your death and offer you physical salvation, it will condemn you to a half-life by transforming you into one of their own. In the season three premiere, Harlem and Salem are hot on the trail of the Kushtaka to find out if there is something paranormal going on or if the creature is something you need to be drunk to believe in!
Hey Queerdos! Strap in for a helluva ride in this week's true crime story. Miss takes us to Granby, Colorado to meet Marvin Heemeyer, the man behind the infamous KILLDOZER. Was Marv wronged by the city? Did he have no other choice but to exact his revenge? I think we all know the answer to that question.... Next Kev takes us up north to the Pacific Northwest Coast & Alaska to meet the Tlingit peoples and their curious cryptid, Kushtaka. Is it an otter? Is it a man? Either way, keep your kids away from the shoreline. Unless you want their souls to be sucked out of their bodies. Source notes found at www.creepyinqueeriespod.com. JANUARY TOPIC: TRIANGLES Check out Buzz Killers every Sunday for new episodes! A proud podcast of the Podmoth Media Network. In episode fifty six we discuss the mysteries of the Alaska Triangle. This triangle is located in the wilderness of Alaska, which is twice the size of Texas, much of which is still unexplored. The Alaska triangle has just as much unexplained activity as the Bermuda triangle, if not more. In this part, we discuss the mysterious disappearance of Congressmen Hale Boggs & Nick Begich, the Tlingit legend of the Kushtaka, the haunted Independence Mine, and the mysterious disappearances of Thomas Nuzzi & Jael Hamblen. These are only a few of the mysterious occurrences within the triangle that will leave you wondering, how can such a beautiful landscape be so deadly? "We watched silently as Ronald swam towards his destination. And then suddenly…. Ronald disappeared from our view. He slipped under the water, hands flailing for a moment, before his hands sunk under as well. And he never came back up. Moments passed. We waited with bated breath for him to come up. Streaks of red appeared on the surface, pale at first, them blooming out into a giant scarlet cloud. Blood..." Dan takes us to Alaska to explore a new kind of folklore, a new entity we have not yet covered on Scared To Death. The Kushtaka. According to northern legends from southern Alaska , the Kushtaka are shape shifting creatures that are half man, half otter. Not a combo that is probably going to immediately strike fear into anyone hearts when that's all you hear. When you think of an otter, you most likely think of a cute, water-loving little creature known for floating on its back and eating shellfish. But the Kushtaka is not some cute little creature. It's a large, bigger-than-a-man, soul-stealing shape-shifter. After Alaska, we journey to Lancaster, Ohio to hear the tale of the Mudhouse Mansion. The history of this house is a troubled one that begins with a tortuous slave owner who abused one of his slave so severely that one night, the slave murdered the slave owner and his entire family. Thus begins the Mudhouse's many bizarre activities. In the back half of the show, Lynze has two tales. The first one, though small, is mighty. A woman has what would seem to be is a lucid dream, at least that's what she thought. She thought the creepy man with wide grin and black hat were simply a nightmare. That is until her child told her not to follow the man. How could her child know about her dreams before she even spoke of them? Was it a dream afterall? Then a story of a haunted trailer! Lynze loved this story because while it had a few moments of being tense, it was really more about confirmation of what a ghost might be capable of that is not necessarily terrifying. In their fifth annual Thanksgiving special, Chris and Cody share awesome Native American lore from Alaska. First, Cody talks about the Inuit werewolf, the Adlet, a creature born from an... interesting...pairing between a woman and a dog with spots. Then, Chris shares info about the Qalupalik, a mermaid-like sea creature that lures children in order to suck their youth. Next, Cody dives into the Otter People, beings that shapeshift into otters to lure you to your death with their cuteness. Finally, Chris discusses Little People, creatures that can help you out or steal you away forever. They're moody. Creep of the Week is a story originating from a Tweet by Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter. This week's drinks...er...snacks are Sour Patch Kids and Arrow Creek wine.

The Alaskan Triangle is considered by many to be one of the more dangerous areas of the world to visit. With disappearances in the tens of thousands, theories of why have ranged from science to folklore. One such theory comes from the Tlingit tribe of Juneau... a legend of Land Otter Men known as the Kushtaka! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/edi-gibson/support
It's a well-known fact that Innocence can be deceiving. And this is very much the fact in southeastern Alaska. Behind a pair of big brown eyes lurks a creature spoken of in hushed tones at the feet of grandmothers and around campfires. By turns malicious and mischievous, helpful and harmful, the Tlingit people know never to let their guard down when an eerie whistle sounds across the water. But is this truly a supernatural creature, or is it a simple cautionary tale to keep naughty children in check? Tonight, on Uncanny America, join us as we go in search of the Kushtaka. ----------------------------- Instagram: @uncannyamerica Twitter: @Uncanny_America Website: uncannyamerica.com ------------------------------ Nervous by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4118-nervous License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Gypsy Shoegazer No Voices by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/3840-gypsy-shoegazer-no-voices License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Our visiting guest chef Joel from the Drink Drunk Dead podcast serves up a sushi style meal as he dishes up a story about the Alaskan trickster creatures from Inuit lore known as the Kushtaka or the land otter people. A little uncooked meat, some less than stellar translation and lots of people disappearing in a "queef of smoke" make this one seriously unique meal.Find Drink Drunk Dead podcast on your favorite social media or streaming platform at https://linktr.ee/drinkdrunkdead (https://linktr.ee/drinkdrunkdead)To stay on top of all the latest from Pineapple Pizza Podcast, be sure to check out our website at http://www.pineapplepizzapodcast.com (www.pineapplepizzapodcast.com) where you will find links to merch, Patreon and a variety of ways to support the show, as well as detailed episode descriptions and regional specials. Let's talk about the mysterious triangles besides Bermuda. Some like the Alaskan Triangle harbor creatures of lore.
Bigfoot And The Battle For Survival- The name Alaska originates from an Aleut word "Alyeska," meaning "great land." And in this great land, wildlife is plentiful. From Blacktail Deer, Elk, Bison and Moose there are just as many predators such as Mountain Lions, Bobcats, Wolves, Coyotes and four types of Bear including the Polar bear. And then there's Bigfoot. Some inhabitants of the last frontier refer to Bigfoot as The Hairy Man or Kushtaka. Although there are even more names as each native tribe has a name for this creature. Two brothers who've hunted around the world make another trip to Alaska and see possible evidence of a Bigfoot battle. According to the locals, Bigfoot are seen and known to inhabit the areas. Especially where food is plentiful. The Phantom Bigfoot - Two men struggle to make ends meet and invest in a van, and take on a paper route. As they travel to their route pick up spot, something almost unexplainable happens. Welcome to the world of the mysterious creature we call Bigfoot. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------* BIGFOOT FRIGHTENING ENCOUNTERS VOLUME 2 IS HERE! This week we tackle the Legend of the Kushtaka - Tlingit lore that takes place around southern Alaska. This shape-shifting, otter-like creature has been terrorizing people for centuries. The most prominent encounter, occurring way back in 1900, comes from Harry Colp and his story, “The Strangest Story Ever Told,” involving his fellow prospector friend, Charlie (no relation to Believing the Bizarre co-host) and his horrifying experience at Thomas Bay. Could this Skinwalker-like creature be real or just an old wise tale to keep kids from wandering around at night? Listen now to find out!
