The Carmen Ciricillo Show is a comedy podcast hosted by comedian Carmen Ciricillo. The CCS is an unscripted stream of consciousness about anything that has or is occurring in Carmen's life. Carmen was born in Berlin, Germany (not voluntarily) then shipped back to the States when he was 3 months old. He lived in like 10 different places in Cleveland, Ohio then was forced to move again to Bettendorf, Iowa. Carmen moved back to Cleveland to fulfill a lifelong dream of fighting with his cousins in the family construction business. In Cleveland, Carmen started doing stand up and got on the road again. After meeting his future wife, Kelly, Carmen moved with her to Los Angeles for two years then to Florida. His constant movement and inability to stabilize has wreaked havoc on his life and on those who are close to him but has also provided him the material needed for stand up. Because of his incessant need to talk Carmen has agreed to do this podcast that he was coerced into doing by Mike his producer.
Nathan Wallace is a very funny comedian that I've known for many years. His energy is full throttle and nonstop funny. Nathan and I talk about stage names that I made up to get work and being a fake agent to talk in the 3rd party about myself. The things comedians do to get work and are still doing. Nathan had multiple names and talks about his father's interesting past. All of us including Donny find out we are in the trailer park club and how that shaped our life. Nathan has a podcast called Radically Indifferent that is a true breath of fresh air in the comedy world. Check him out on Youtube.
On this episode Ryan Sharp from Coming this Summer podcast makes a guest appearance without his cohorts, is cohorts a word? Anyway Carmen talks about how on the previous pod without Ryan how he still called Ryans name. Thus phantom pains of feeling he was there but he was not. Also we talk about some bad Advent calendars, Halloween candy overload and how to get rid of it and much more.
Just Donny and Carmen on this one folks and we talk about who you can depend on. The boys are not on but we still call on them like they were here. We talk FUN and what proper FUN is. Donny needs help at 31 and Carmen suggests Boomers helping Gen Z, X and Millennials as a business. Taking guys out and showing them proper FUN. Carmen was a DJ in college and discusses about the power of the music controller and so much more in this pod.
In this non linear episode we bring in guest JJ and SuperBad to discuss Carmen's fashion and his new irregular habit of watch wearing. Also dressing Donny like a pimp from Goodwill finds. Carmen wants to reduce the swearing on the show so he uses the code word squirrel to substitute for the bad one. The guys discuss movie remakes and old Sega video games like the Grinch. Toast talk happens and some discussion about lyrics of songs we didn't know.
On this episode we bring in Bean and Superbad to discuss many things including Carmen's mom. On a previous podcast the gang talked about Carmen's mother's uterus, describing it as the first place Carmen lived. Carmen decided to tell his mom about the pod and the boys including Donny seemed surprised. Carmen gets accused of fact checking which he denies and does not allow during the pod. Carmens daughter otherwise known as HR watched a previous pod and demanded that the video of the pod be taken down due to bad editing. Donny's computer has been in the shop so we have to cut him some slack and we don't want Don King Cady to cry even though he seems incapable. This pod cannot be described in this description because hundreds of topic keep popping out.
In this episode Carmen tries to explain the world to JJ, Jay, Ryan and Donny who are too young to understand. Carmen's disco days and his knowledge of rap music blows away these youngsters. Also Carmen had an issue with a comedy club last weekend and blows some steam off about it. How to look cool comes up and its mostly gone for Carm because of his hair. Ryan goes to the beach because of a girl and denies it. Jay works a sorority dance and tries to rip on the dancers without offending them so Carmen steps in to do it properly. Also eye glass issues and other handicaps are discussed. By the way this description may not be accurate.
In this episode Bean and SuperBad and JJ show up to talk about trailer parks, neighborhoods and stories from real people. Also a lot of new superheros are created through this thought provoking brainstorming edition of the pod. Lighting fire for entertainment, wearing gold watches, living in the hood, Mr. Wonderful and more in this episode.
On todays pod Lou Angelwolf, an American stand up comedian makes his debut. Lou and Carmen are good friends and have performed together on the same stages since the early 90s. In this episode the the comedians talk about the Sopranos and Tony's mental health issues. Also about Lou's use of therapy and how what you learn from 0-5 still controls you. Germans vs Italians comes up and Carmens speaks a little of both. Lou makes good points about talking to priests and about the feminine side of men. Every so often we here Donny and his attempt to stop Carmen from interrupting Lou when he talks about the Indians and how they consulted with the council of Grandmas. Also much more.
In this ridiculous episode Carmen and Donny bring back special guests Bean and Superbad along with comedy booker for the Zoo Sports Club Jeff Pfannes. Jeff talks about getting massages at poker and Carmen asks if he would get one from a man. The gang talks more about Carmens faults including his hair and how he is ok with getting canceled. Jeff saw Carmen years ago at a club and just recently again and says a few nice things about Carmens stand up. Group showering rears it ugly head again and Jeff adds new information about a car wash style shower he would take in high school. Keep listening folks.
In this strange episode Carmen and Donny talk with Ryan Sharp and Jeremy Martin from the Bean and Super Bad Show and the Coming This Summer Podcast. The difference in generations is clear in this episode starting with how each generation decides who their friends are. Back in the 80s things were clearly different including how comfortable guys were in front of each other in the locker room. Showering in schools is not common anymore and after this episode you'll know why.
Donny thinks Carmen has a disease that makes him defy authority and Carmen agrees but also adds that he thinks its positive. We also talk about what Hanes underwear could do with all their reject tighty whities and how Carmen is like a machine that passes gas. Friends is also discussed, not the show but actual friends. Enjoy.
Well my boredom has led me to delve into multiple topics on YouTube and I discuss this with Donny. Most of the pods I've noticed is me convincing Donny on some topic. In this pod I convince him why he should visit the Amish, why he should understand Quantum Physics, How fighting should be handled and something about Monsters and Double Dating and way more cause this thing went over an hour. Get on a treadmill and listen.
The Boomers don't get when the youth is making fun of them so be more direct. Also in this episode Carmen talks about seeing old guys on the beach trying to get attention and how the youth need to be the loud ones. Fearful society and why the NYC subways need more people sticking up for each other. Donny and Carmen also talk about the need for good friends that can be truthful and say things like "you gotta be dreaming if you think this podcast is going anywhere"
There has been some discussion lately between me and Donny that I might need a list of topics to talk about. I've prided myself on Improving the whole pod but I'm up for a change. This would be guided Improv at the very least. Also we talk about the Popes house, I guess, cause that's the title. As always this pod should be used for entertainment purposes only and never as a source of actual advice. Later, Carmen P. Ciricillo
In this episode we start off by talking about people who can ignore annoying noises and what their IQ is. Also how water shapes rocks and how Carmen is a rock. Then we do more nonsense talk which leads to the missing tiny rake. Carmen put this pod all together at the end by discussing how to keep AI on its toes by being illogical. Then we find out at a little over an hour into the pod that Donny cut off the recording. Enjoy!
Donny's not happy with the direction of the podcast. It might be going off on too many tangents from Hooters to Church to Rockets to Batmans in the Multiverse. One thing for sure its not boring and most likely this podcast format will not change.
Its hard for Carmen to be in a system and he warns those who have systems to never invite him. Also Carmen uses the stair master at the gym quite often and sometimes to stare at people while he's climbing to nowhere. Donny helps Carmen make the connection between stair and stare and as always we keep it light in this podcast about very little except entertainment.
In this pod Carmen brings back Don King Cady aka Donny. After almost two years Donny is back producing and chiming in on the Carmen Ciricillo Show. We talk about the comedy scene and how everyone wants to be famous. Its better to get a job that has structure is a main theme of this pod and we encourage you to get one. Enjoy this episode brought to you by no one. Maybe one day we will have sponsors but probably not.
The weird thing about the definition of being consistent is that being inconsistent on a consistent basis can fit the definition. So here we are 6 weeks from the last podcast was published putting out another one and promising again that I will be more consistent meaning that I will be more predictable. Well let's hope so for my sake. Enjoy the show.
Carmen doesn't want to talk like Jordan Peterson talks. He likes JP he and he listens to JP but he's not funny. In funny sometimes you got to be stupid and JP is never stupid and that's a problem for a comedian. Being stupid and risking people thinking you're an idiot is part of being comedian. So for me I stay away from all smart talk all the time. I can talk smart but who wants to? Not me. You can easily tell that by what I'm writing here and how I went from 3rd person to first. Anyway listen to the pod if you want to have a spike in your baseline brainwave activity.
This is part 2 of my discussion with my great friend and comedy cohort Tim Wilkins. We discuss the League of Comedic Shadows, Trump as Goat Boy, The Dark Side of Comedy, Casino Advertising and more. Tim and I have worked many gigs together and have a ton to talk about so sit back and enjoy the 33 year relationship of two stand up comics.
In this two part podcast, Carmen breaks a few balls with longtime friend and comedy collaborator Tim Wilkins. Carmen met Tim in Los Angeles in 1991 at a comedy gig and since then the two have written for Jay Leno, created commercials, produced comedy shows and appeared on stage together over the decades. Carmen discusses with Tim how big his pod supposedly is in Poland, how to use comedy for other purposes, the sad part of stand up, how comedians can't donate anonymously and the possibility of Tim and Carmen starting a podcast together. Enjoy!
Carmen complains from a level of luxury. When the power goes out in his condominium in Cleveland he gets cranky then realizes he has to de-crank himself. He is spoiled and the power outage proves it. Carmen talks about soft carpet, air conditioning, fresh food and what would happen if it all went away. Somehow Carmen finds his way to start talking about under achieving as a good thing. Not going the gold, not reaching the stars. His recent experience on a Stairmaster at the gym made him think about moving and getting nowhere as the thing to strive for.
In this pod Carmen talks about his love for toys and how he eventually ends up in the toy section when going into the store. Also the fear of hiring Carmen has crept into a current booking which is now a cancelled booking. Carmen also talks about stuff, too much physical stuff and too much mental stuff. Thanks for listening.
Wow we got a pod off in record time since the last pod. Don't expect me to keep this up and I'm sure you won't. Today we discuss the Algorithm. I don't even know what it is so it's kinda like me talking about Bitcoin. All I know is that if you watch videos of alligators eating dogs that's what you will continually see so be careful what you watch. There are other topics in this mix so please enjoy.
The day after the attempted assassination on former president Donald Trump is somber for many reasons. The family man that lost his life and the injuries to Mr. Trump and others make this day very difficult. My job has always been to make others happy even in very difficult times. My natural tendency is to lighten up the mood when things go bad. So we keep on. I made the podcast. Now take a listen to how my comedy show went last night, why I like to sit in my garage and how I feel about the decrease in manhood that's happening right now.
Carmen gets a stabbing idea at 1:30 in the morning to make a pod and this is it. Typically the pod is not made this late at night but why are there rules? In this pod Carmen talks again about his Elon obsession, corporate group think, his HOA, being judged correctly and more. The title of the pod eludes to the common thinking spewed by comedians that you can only punch down. Who made these rules for a a business that is supposed to be independent and artistic. What if the down are up? Are we allowed to punch them then? Well that's what's happening.
My mind adopts whatever I'm watching, reading, seeing as I got to have it. I got to have the fame of Sebastian or the skill of an auto mechanic or the success of an HVAC man. It really doesn't matter. My wife saw a cool Lexus today and I was like I have to get that so she can say I have a cool car. Listen to this pod and you'll understand what I'm talking about. I did it last night so I've already forgotten some of the content. But it is also about the Presidential Debate, Elon Musk and how corporations are not for me.
Yes it's been awhile but I'm still here. This pod is about just that. Living in the present moment and not regretting. While Elon Musk is alive pay attention. I missed out on AC/DC and Michael Jordan cause I wasn't paying attention. But I will watch the rockets launch and the brains getting implanted with chips.
This is the walking pod. I'm doing the pod whenever I can and wherever and this time it's in back of a thrift store. I don't remember exactly what I was talking about here - I think I was in love with the weather and the landscape and the freedom of being an artist.
Carmen did this pod while waiting in a minivan for his mom. How much life will you exchange for what you want? Carmen talks about his costs of doing the business of comedy and podcasting but not in financial terms but in how much of his life he spend on it. He is also simultaneously waiting for his mother to come out of her apartment to go to lunch.
Being soft is not bad. Being humble and grateful can be misconstrued as weakness. Carmen talks about his past and his experience on how he had to fake being tough to survive. He also acknowledges that he has had a hard time going with the flow. Carmen believes that those who make the flow go other directions are heroes. Being content is hard but it is important. Carmen wants to keep moving forward with some flows, being content with others but always growing and doing more. And remember this is from a comedian.
Carmen's in the minivan in the garage making a clausterphobicky pod. Just back from Florida and his 3 weeks of gigging and traveling Carmen talks about boredom. Carmen says that you can trick your brain into believing that you got it better. The Bells and Whistles of life are just there to kill the boredom but you can kill the boredom with your own brain!! Scary.
Carmen is driving and recording the pod during the latest Florida Hurricane threat. As he drives he talks about being carefree, thinking twice and remembering to look at a picture of yourself from 10 years ago. Everything is closing because of the hurricane and Carmen needs to get doughnuts and flowers for his wife's birthday tomorrow.
Carmen is in an AirBnb he doesn't trust. Maybe he's secretly being watched. He's not sure. He also doesn't like the weird smell at 3 am every night so he has to spray cologne on his upper lip before he goes to bed. This weekend he will be appearing at the Boca Black Box in Boca Raton and next week at Snappers in Ft. Myers. Come out and see hime for yourself.
Carmen talks about going to the Feast of the Assumption in Cleveland and his weekend. Also why he is not tough but people still call him boss. He also has no studio to record his pod so he abruptly ends the pod and does not explain that people just. came into the condo.
This past weekend I had to go on the hunt with my cousin who's trying to find a new woman. Hunting is much harder than it is when you're young. You got to deal with public toilets, tall people, bar food, hard stools and so much more. Glad I hunted wisely 36 years ago.
Do you have any problems? Keep it to yourself if you want to succeed. I think that is true. Act as if you're ok because we are judging you as an individual. This pod completely created on the fly and it shows. Sound quality decreased on this one because of the AC unit kicking on and off and because I'm still looking for a quiet place to produce the pod. Don't give up on me please.
Carmen discusses his recent experiences at Goodwill where the Goodwill Godfather uses the Goodwill receipts as currency. Carmen also talks about wanting to me in the mob for the wrong reasons. This pod recorded in a walk in closet.
Carmen talks about not getting where he wanted to be in his career. He would like hundreds of thousands of dollars in sponsorships but knows the chances are slimmer than ever. Carmen is 60 and he's not as upset about this as he used to be. Time has worn down his worries about not reaching his goals. He is content making a podcast that goes out to very few people.
Doing the pod is harder now in a small space so I gotta wait until I'm alone. This is a quick pod that I rushed to do which is how I live my life in general.
Carmen is in a hole and he likes it. He is on his own making a podcast about nothing important so you can have something in your life to enjoy
Where have we been? Carmen gives a quick update to let you know the scoop.
