This week we're sharing a special episode from our friends at How To!, the 2026 Ambie Award-nominated “Best Personal Growth Podcast” that's back with a new host and new topics to fuel your curiosity. Each week on How To!, award-winning journalist Mike Pesca tackles a listener's question – on topics ranging from travel and finance to health and relationships – with help from world-class experts who actually know what they're talking about. Think of it as eavesdropping on someone else's therapy session, without the co-pay or awkward silence. And today, we're sharing their recent episode “How To Take Psychedelics for Your Mental Health” where Mike interviews psychiatrist Will Van der Veer, a psychedelic researcher, and Myq Kaplan who has taken psychedelics for his mental health and other reasons. I love this episode because you get to hear a bunch of personal experiences of medical psychedelics and learn more about this emerging treatment for mental health conditions. And for more interviews like this, make sure to follow How To! on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. And tell them we sent you.

Escuchar audio

Stellenbosch student‑turned‑founder Veer Gosai built an edtech platform serving millions of school pupils with free past exam papers – and he's not only a tech entrepreneur. A stolen ID led him to uncover fraud in the SASSA grant system. In this BizNews interview, Gosai talks about how his exam‑prep platform Taptic has expanded to seven African countries, with another eight in his sights; why he believes AI is detrimental to the youth in a country where more than 80% of Grade 4s cannot read for meaning; and, in an interesting titbit, how his data shows that Grade 9s are the “laziest” learners in South Africa.

Hoe werkt politieke macht? How can companies be drowning in customer data and still struggle to make better decisions? In this episode, I speak with Jochem van der Veer, CEO and co-founder of TheyDo, about a problem that many business leaders quietly recognize but rarely solve. Organizations are investing heavily in customer experience and AI, yet the results often fall short. There is more data than ever before, more dashboards, more reporting, and still a disconnect between insight and action. Jochem offers a refreshing perspective shaped by his work with global brands like Ford, Atlassian, Cisco, and Home Depot. He explains that the issue is not a lack of data, but a lack of alignment. Teams operate in silos, each working with their own version of the truth, which leads to fragmented decisions that make sense internally but fail from the customer's point of view. It is not intentional, but the outcome is the same. A disconnected experience that slows progress and creates hidden costs across the business. We spend time unpacking what this looks like in practice. Many customer experience teams are still focused on collecting and reporting data rather than influencing decisions. Insights travel up the organization, often reaching senior leadership, but rarely translate into meaningful action. That gap, as Jochem describes it, turns customer experience into a cost center rather than a driver of growth. What makes this conversation particularly relevant right now is the role of AI. While AI has made it easier to process vast amounts of unstructured data, it has also exposed how unprepared many organizations are to act on it. Jochem shares how experience intelligence is emerging as a new way of thinking, one that connects customer feedback, operational data, and business outcomes into a single, actionable view. It shifts the focus from understanding what happened to deciding what to do next. We also explore the partnership between TheyDo and PwC, and how combining structured frameworks with journey management technology can help organizations move from strategy to execution. From reducing wasted investment to identifying the real root causes behind customer issues, there is a clear opportunity to rethink how decisions are made. This episode challenges some widely held assumptions, including the idea that customer experience is a standalone function. Instead, it is becoming a capability that needs to be embedded across the entire organization. So as AI continues to accelerate the pace of business, are companies ready to move beyond reporting and finally turn customer insight into meaningful action?

Shane discusses Varials' new album Where The Light Leaves — which arrived on February 27 via Fearless Records — and his influences, including a particular guitarist from Lamb Of God and working with producer Josh Schroeder. Crispin breaks down The Veer Union's Reinvention — released February 20 via Arising Empire — and the band's unique journey, including their outsized success in the U.S. compared to Canada. In an era where nostalgia runs rampant, both guests feel like they're writing the next chapter — not revisiting the last one. That mindset fuels this episode from the jump.
Send a textWelcome to Season 19! We recently caught up with guitarist Ryan Ramsdell of The Veer Union to talk about the release of their latest album Reinvention, out now via Arising Empire. We looked back on the band's journey since forming in Vancouver in 2004, Ryan's impact since joining in 2012, and how more than two decades of evolution, chart success, and hundreds of millions of streams shaped the mindset behind this new record. The conversation also dug into the album's mix of heaviness and melody, the band's refreshed chemistry, and Ryan's personal passions offstage—including his longtime devotion to hockey and the Edmonton Oilers. Reinvention, their 9th album, captures a band still pushing forward while honoring the sound and resilience that built their legacy. Tune in now and be sure to buy and stream “Reinvention,” out now through Arising Empire.Stay connected with The Veer Union, visit: https://theveerunion.net/, https://www.instagram.com/theveerunion/, and https://www.facebook.com/theveerunion/Stay connected with IUF, visit: https://interviewunderfire.com/
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this episode of the podcast, I'm joined by Crispin Earl of The Veer Union for an open and honest conversation about where the band is right now and what it takes to keep pushing forward. We dive into their upcoming album Reinvention, dropping February 20th via Arising Empire, and talk about how this release represents a real creative reset for the band.Crispin shares what it is really like touring when you are not based in the United States, the rising costs that come with it, and how those challenges impact everything from routing to sustainability. We also talk about writing as a form of mental relief, using music to work through personal struggles, and why staying honest in songwriting still matters. It is a grounded conversation that touches on the business, the creativity, and the mental side of life in a touring band.
Imagine a world where you can simply look at your journey model and ask it why... Why, for example, is our customer churn spiking this quarter? How close are we to that reality?I invited my good friend Jochem van der Veer, CEO of TheyDo, back onto the show to find out. It's become a bit of a tradition to start the year with Jochem, looking back at our past predictions and setting the stage for what's next in the world of Journey Management. Not so long ago, "Journey Management" was really just an emerging term. Fast forward to today, and I think it's fair to say that the conversation has shifted entirely. We're seeing organizations big and small adopt this practice as a framework that drives real business decisions. In last year's episode, Jochem predicted that by now we'd be able to ask our journeys "Why?" and get instant (and meaningful) answers. In this conversation, we discuss how the technology has arrived and why "Journey Anarchy" is the new hurdle we have to clear.Next, we play a round of "Objection Bingo" where we address the most common roadblocks we hear every day that stand in the way of wider adoption of journey management. From "we don't have the data" to the classic "It's too expensive". And of course, Jochem shares some practical strategies to help you overcome these roadblocks when you encounter them. Finally, Jochem makes some spicy predictions for 2026. Like the emergence of a completely new role in the CX space. So, if you want to stay one step ahead and hear where our field is heading, this is the conversation for you.I would love to know: how do you feel about the state of journey management heading into 2026? A) Mostly "meh" B) Excited! C) Something else...Leave a comment (if you're on Spotify).Be well, ~ Marc--- [ 1. Have an episode suggestion? Text us!In this first episode of our three part anger series, we talk about what anger really is when you are still with someone in active addiction or someone sober, but unhealed. Anger is not a flaw to fix or a sign that you are the problem. It is a mobilizing, revolutionary emotion that is trying to tell you that you are not safe, that your values are being violated, and that you cannot keep living like this.We break down the difference between anger and aggression, why stuffing anger down only prolongs the chaos, and how waiting for your partner to finally take accountability keeps you stuck. You will hear how we each processed anger differently, how to use anger as fuel instead of a weapon, and how to start shifting from destructive reactions to constructive action using our VEER framework. Even if your partner is in recovery or you are already out of the relationship, this episode lays the groundwork for parts 2 and 3, so do not skip it.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages! On the web:www.twfo.comSupport the Show:Buy Us a Coffee!Online Program: www.independentlystrong.comSoberlink Device:www.soberlink.com/wheelsCheck out our blog:https://twfo.com/blogFollow us on TikTok:https://tiktok.com/@twfo_coupleFollow us on Instagram:https://instagram.com/twfo_couple/Follow us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TWFOCoupleFollow us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@twfo_coupleFind Taylor Counseling Group:https://taylorcounselinggroup.com/Donate to Counseling for the Future Foundation:Donate Here

Host Malcolm Harris kicks off a spooky edition of WHAT THE TRUCK?!? live from Chattanooga, Tennessee, diving into some of the biggest stories shaping trucking and logistics. First up, OOIDA Executive Vice President Lewie Pugh joins the show to react to Secretary Duffy's fiery comments on driver qualification standards and language proficiency. Lewie breaks down the long-running myth of the “driver shortage,” calling it a cover for low pay, poor training, and unsafe working conditions. He lays out OOIDA's priorities—from codifying DOT rules into law to passing the Truck Parking Safety Improvement Act—and challenges lawmakers to finally put people over profits. Next, Greg Braun, CRO and cofounder of C3 Solutions, celebrates 25 years of innovation while discussing their new C3 Hive platform. Despite a surprise fire alarm mid-interview, Greg powers through to explain how C3 Hive connects shippers, carriers, and yard operators in real time—reducing dwell time, streamlining communication, and using AI to optimize dock and yard management. Finally, Veer Junja, USC alum and cofounder of Fleetline, joins from San Francisco to share how his startup is empowering carrier planners with AI-driven optimization.
