A movie podcast that has absolutely nothing to do with cooking. Three friends take some of cinema's much loved (or unloved) films and, for better or worse, stir in a different cast (it's usually worse). A must listen for film and comedy fans alike. Cast-A-Role is filled with delicious humour, bad language, dubious opinions, and delectable movie trivia.

We begin this week discussing steak, and Nick gives one of the worst opinions EVER! Sam goes off piste, and plugs a Youtube channel, which leads to Jim giving a stong soupy opinion Then Jim ends "What we've been watching" with a STRONG opinion. We then begrudgingly discuss possibly the worst movie we've covered to date. Nick continues his trend of giving awful opinions And Sam treats us to an Audio Aperitif with a bit of a difference.

During this discussion, Sam reveals a life lesson that he has recently learned. Nick tells us of his newly found cult leadership. Our talk leads us to gush over one of the best games of a generation, including plenty of box chat. Jim discusses his frustration with pirated gaming and THEN we get to our pitches of which one of us went in a VERY interesting direction. How have we already made it through January? Well, we certainly aren't slowing down, and Nick has finally managed to get Jim and Sam to sit down and watch a horror film. The guys went together to the cinema to sit down and watch Robert Eggers, Nosferatu. We begin this week by discussing the career of the recently passed David Lynch. Sam declares he's already found his film of 2025. We worked out what we believed would make up the musical to end all musicals. And we of course deep dive into Nosferatu, not before Jim has a brain fart, and Nick struggles with a date. Of course, we can't fully agree on things, have various opinions, and make plenty of bad impressions. Jim once again delays the mega-wheel and reveals to Sam and Nick that he has a little surprise for them.

We may be two weeks into the new year, but we are back with our first review and recasting of 2025. After the carnage brought about by Armageddon, we are left with nothing but Tremors. So that's what we're covering this time out: the 1990 Kevin Bacon hit Tremors. We start this week disguising ourselves as a food podcast with a LOT of cheese chat. Nick starts and quits a journey in anime. Jim watched a film recommended by Sam, which led to a flat earther chat. It may be a new year, but that doesn't mean Jim is any different. He makes not one but two belting comments. There are copious amounts of innuendos, followed by our recastings going in very different directions And no episode is complete without an edition of Audio Aperitif

And it's rather fitting that we are reviewing Micheal Bay's 90's epic, Armageddon. We begin the episode this week discussing......... Pickled Eggs. Jim and Sam give their thoughts on one of cinema's biggest releases of 2024, Wicked! Nick once again questions Jim on what makes a film worthy of 5 meatballs. Nick again jumps to the defence of Vince Vaughan We discuss the mental implementation of physics. Rather than recast the film, we instead pitch our own Armageddon event films And as always we end the episode with a trip to the Megawheel and a friendly game of Audio Aperitif

We start this week off talking all things Christmas dinner, and the divisive Brussels sprout Nick gets reminded of something he watched in the lead-up to the recording by a rather interesting discussion As expected, the review leads to some contrasting opinions. It may be our 2nd year, but it's still very much the same old Jim. Nick and Sam struggle with Jim's apathetic opinions. Despite his opinions, Jim does an OK job at recasting. IT'S OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, AND WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN!!   We started the year discussing the first film of an iconic franchise, so it's only right that we end the year discussing the first film of another iconic franchise. And what a franchise it is! We head back to 1979 to discuss Ridley Scott's Alien. Of course, Ridley Scott is still very much going strong with the recent release of Gladiator 2, and the Alien franchise is arguably stronger than ever, with the recent release of Alien: Romulus and the upcoming television series Alien: Earth. So, what do Sam, Nick, and, most importantly, Jim think of the original? This week, we start with several big announcements. Rather than discuss what we've been watching this week; we instead, discuss some of our favourite moments of the past year of Cast-A-Role. We declare our film of the year (kind of) Jim has an epiphany and does the unthinkable The is what is quite possibly the mouse BIZARRE casting choice to date. And we round out the episode with yet another Audio Aperitif. Can Jim level the score, or will Nick romp home to victory?

The guys give a little insight into the Mega Wheel. Jim gushes over The Wild Robot. Sadly, there is no Audio Aperitif this week (damn you Sam!!) but the guys do go off on a tangent off the back of Sam's recasting to pitch quite possibly the greatest film ever! And to mark our one-year anniversary, The Mega Wheel picks another HUGE franchise for us to tackle.

First up we have the absolute classic that is Uwe Boll's Alone In The Dark, followed by Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands. We begin this week as always, by discussing what we've been watching, including things such as The Killers Game, Vince McMahon, and Sam and Jim gush over Monster: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. This episode delivers some VERY hot takes from Jim (shock), some of which Nick struggled to comprehend. Sam and Nick tell a story of their struggles with Indian dubbing. And even with two film reviews, we still manage to find time for another edition of Audio Aperitif, can Jim claw one back? Will Nick continue his winning ways? or will Sam continue his hijinx?

We are back again for another edition of Cast-A-Role, and this week we enter "Spooky Season" much to the displeasure of Jim. To kick off this Halloween season, the boys are reviewing and recasting John Carpenter's The Thing from 1982. The guys start this week off discussing what food should and shouldn't go on a stick, as well as whether pineapple should go on a pizza. Jim reveals his hatred for Halloween. Nick somehow confuses George of the Jungle with The Jungle Book! Sam issues Jim a massive apology that sends shivers down Nick's spine as he starts to come to terms with the possibility of watching the Rebel Moon director's cuts. Will this classic film be safe from Jim? (probably not) For recastings this week, the guys couldn't decide on how many to recast, so have settled on just MacReady, but then served up some pitches for survival horror films, at which point Jim may have lost the plot. And to end the episode, Audio Aperitif is back. Can Jim level the score with Nick? Or will there be yet more hijinks?
