When teens and college-age kids come home for the holidays, families often feel the tension between independence and connection. In this episode of Facing the Dark, Wayne and Dr. Kathy unpack what's really happening in the brain during "emerging adulthood," why young adults come home exhausted, and how parents can welcome them without slipping back into old patterns. You'll learn how to set healthy expectations, reframe the transition with hope, and use each child's unique strengths, including their 8 Smarts, to build meaningful connections this holiday season. This episode brings clarity, grace, and practical wisdom for anyone navigating the in-between years.

I think it goes without saying that IT IS GETTING REAL!
When the early church first began in Acts, it was not a building. The early church was not a place people went but it was who they were. The bible tells of a people who were devoted and intensely passionate about teaching, fellowship, the breaking of the bread and the things of God. In this sermon, Pastor Byron Ellis goes through the five core values of Redemption to explain how the church becomes a family. May we follow the example of the early church and remember that we don't "go" to church ... we "are" the church.
Behind Door 21 we have troubling getting home for Christmas in P2 (2007), trouble in the home in French shocker Inside (2007), and a less than happy New Year with The Children (2008)

This week Pastor Jimmy teaches us how to truly be 'Home for Christmas' no matter where we are or where we go.
Nineteen percent of engagements happen during the holiday season. However, twenty percent of divorces begin January 1st. It's obvious that the world's way of marriage is not working, but luckily in this sermon, Pastor Byron Ellis gives us the bible's guide to a blessed marriage. The bible's sacred view of marriage requires submission and sacrifice. By following a biblical view, you can have a Hallmark romance this Christmas.
