JB White delivers a fiery and unapologetic response to what he sees as dangerous confusion within his own media circle. After reacting to commentary from fellow hosts, JB makes it crystal clear: this is not a game, and this is not a theoretical debate. In his view, America is at war — economically, strategically, and geopolitically — and President Trump's actions must be understood through that lens. He dismantles the idea of a U.S. alliance with Russia or China, calling it a failure of discernment and a surrender to adversarial propaganda. JB argues that currency warfare, energy strategy, and dollar liquidity manipulation are deliberate tools of American power. He highlights Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's remarks on weaponizing the dollar, the strategic role of stablecoins, and the broader financial chessboard shaping Iran and China. He also frames Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter as a calculated move against centralized narrative control, tying it into a larger war over sovereignty and information. This episode is intense, direct, and rooted in one message: align with strength, reject confusion, and understand the battlefield we are actually on.

But this retrograde is different. Mercury is in Pisces, the sign of its fall, where logic gives way to intuition, emotion, and sometimes confusion. At the same time, Mercury immediately forms a conjunction with exalted Venus in Pisces, creating a dreamy and romantic energy that can soften communication but also blur reality. This transit can bring reconciliation, heartfelt conversations, or moments where we realize we may have been projecting an ideal rather than seeing the full picture. All of this unfolds while Jupiter shifts direction, expanding the emotional and spiritual themes tied to this retrograde. We'll also cover the key turning points of the retrograde cycle, including:• The Mercury–Venus conjunction at 22° Pisces and the emotional 22 degree energy surrounding it• The Mercury cazimi on March 7, when Mercury meets the Sun and clarity returns• Mercury's trine to Jupiter, bringing supportive conversations, reconnections, and breakthroughs• The Mercury–Mars conjunction around March 14, when communication intensifies and boundaries become necessaryThis episode will help you understand where confusion may arise, where clarity is coming, and how to navigate the emotional waters of this Pisces retrograde with awareness. If you've been feeling reflective, nostalgic, romantic, or slightly disoriented lately, you're not alone. This retrograde is asking us to slow down, revisit our emotional narratives, and communicate with deeper honesty.Welcome to the cosmic review period.Support the show

Dr. Jim interviews Dr. Julia Sheffield, professor at Vanderbilt University and clinician specializing in psychotic and delusional disorders. She discusses her research and her interview with The New York Times on how AI chatbots may unintentionally reinforce or contribute to delusional thinking.Dr. Sheffield explains how AI can mirror and amplify distorted beliefs by bypassing reality testing, raising concerns about vulnerable users forming unhealthy attachments — reminiscent of Her starring Joaquin Phoenix where a man falls in love with a bot and slowly loses his grounding.Invoking the image of being “10 feet tall” — a nod to - Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - people ask Dr. Sheffield how not to fall into the rabbit hole. How altered perception, magnified meaning, and distorted reality can take hold in both human psychology and AI-mediated experience.Dr. Sheffield frames psychosis on a spectrum and challenges the field's overreliance on the medical model, emphasizing that therapy can be highly effective. She calls for clinicians to engage more confidently with this often-avoided yet deeply treatable population.A timely conversation at the intersection of AI, attachment, delusion, and reality.Credits:River is High, Ticketless TravelerCarl Reisman, guitar, singer, and songwriterJenny Goodwine, vocalsJames Singleton, bassJohnny Vidocovich, drumsDave Easley, steel guitarProduced by Morgan Orion Reismanfor more information, carlreisman@gmail.comCopyright 2025WCMI networking group A networking group for mindfulness-focused clinicians dedicated to learning together & collaborating for more information click here

For decades, tobacco control lectured smokers to quit or die. But when smokers quit using safer nicotine, they were chastised and demonized for doing it the “wrong” way. That contradiction now defines U.S. nicotine policy. In this episode, tobacco harm reduction advocate Skip Murray responds directly to comments from FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, whose rhetoric dismisses data, elevates anecdote, and recycles long-debunked myths about vaping. As smoking declines and safer alternatives reshape behavior, tobacco control is digging in. The result is an endgame untethered from evidence, denying the reality of safer nicotine. What happens when the FDA refuses to acknowledge what we already know? Find out. Only on RegWatch by RegulatorWatch.com. We have a duty to reflect God's truth to the world. If truth is something worth living — and dying — for, do Christians have a duty to correct error throughout the world, in legislation, governance, and social policy? God calls us to align with truth, yet that sometimes places us at odds with the powers that be. And when Scripture speaks of God sending a "powerful delusion," are we hearing divine action… or Pauline rhetoric? If the empire is delusional and corrupt, are we still called to pray for it? Tune in to today's episode to find out!

Silicon Bites Ep285 | 2026-02-14 | Today: Munich: the “child of Europe” speech, the missing commitments, and the price of self-deception. Dateline: Munich Security Conference, Friday–Saturday, 13–14 Feb 2026.Europe cheers Secretary of State Marco Rubio, principally because he did not harangue and berate the audience, did not hector and threaten. His tone was conciliatory, and the audience gave him an ovation. But this was a shameful spectacle of weakness and desperation. Europe revealed that it would give anything to return to ‘normal', to how things were before Trump. They revealed that they'd still rather hang off the coat tails of the U.S. than stand up and face reality. This was a spectacle of timid and fearful children, not adults or leaders. It was even more desperate, because Rubio did not bring a return to ‘normality'. His tone may have been soft, but there was no change of substance detectable, no shift in national security policy. Hiding beneath the soft fabrics of his words, lies a cold and dark truth – the U.S. intends to meddle in European democratic affairs, promote populists and disruptors. Weaken the continent, not strengthen it. Rubio came as a wolf in sheep's clothing to Munich, and European leaders and analysts duly flocked to praise him as signifying a return to normality. Normal is over and is not coming back. It's time to wake up; time to grow up and cut the umbilical cord with a U.S. that has other priorities, and other distractions. It may respect us if we show strength, independence and innovation, but never if we continue to show weakness. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtain----------SOURCES:Reuters — Rubio tells Munich security forum US and Europe “belong together” (Feb 14, 2026).Reuters — Rubio casts US as “child of Europe,” critical friend to allies (Feb 14, 2026). Silicon Valley billionaires, such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Sam Altman, promise salvation through space colonization, immortality, superintelligent AI, and endless growth. Adam Becker, astrophysicist and author of More Everything Forever: AI Overlords, Space Empires, and Silicon Valley's Crusade to Control the Fate of Humanity, debunks these profoundly immoral and biophysically impossible delusions, and explains why resisting them through collective action is essential. Highlights include: How tech billionaires confuse science fiction for reality and why their fantasies of space colonization are biophysically impossible; Why Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) remains an ill-defined concept that is based in the false assumption that humans' evolved brains work like computing machines; Why large language models (LLMs), the dominant form of AI, are neither creative nor accurate enough to achieve the dreamed-for leap in machine intelligence; What the end of Moore's Law tells us about diminishing returns to technological complexity and the expectation of endless technological growth; Why longtermism is a dangerous ideology of technological salvation and endless growth, prioritizing hypothetical future populations while excusing present-day social injustice and ecological destruction; How the fear of death underlies techno-utopian off-planet and transhumanist fantasies; Why resisting their oligarchic visions requires calling out the ridiculousness of their ideas and organizing collectively to push back both politically and economically. The podcast explores needed narrative, behavioral, and system shifts for recreating human life in balance with all life on Earth. With expert guests from wide-ranging disciplines, we examine the forces underlying overshoot: from patriarchal pronatalism that is fueling overpopulation, to growth-biased economic systems that lead to consumerism and social injustice, to the dominant worldview of human supremacy that subjugates animals and nature. Our vision of shrinking toward abundance inspires us to seek pathways of transformation that go beyond technological fixes toward a new humanity that honors our interconnectedness with all beings. What if the machine controlling your life isn't out there—but inside you? Using The Matrix as a lens, this post exposes how maladaptive obsessive‑compulsive personality patterns act like internal programs that hijack authenticity, drain energy, and keep us locked in a dream of perfection, urgency, and control. Drawing from psychological research and Jungian theory, it reveals how these inner mechanisms develop, how they deceive us, and—most importantly—how we can take the red pill, wake up, and choose a more conscious, compassionate way of living.

Peter Mandelson's disgrace, writ large in the latest dump of Jeffrey Epstein files, is the gravest challenge to the credibility of the British establishment in decades. And how Keir Starmer reacts to it in the next 24 hours may well come to determine his future as PM. The degree of Mandelson's betrayal of both his colleagues and country exposes just how open to abuse our society is by a network of immoral actors. Who is pulling the strings? And to what aim? Today, the Matts attempt to understand the scope of what is increasingly looking like the single biggest political scandal of our lifetimes.Produced by Matt WithersOFFER: Get The New World for just £1 for the first month. In this episode, we dive into the hilariously frustrating world of conference calls, where the ending is often marred by a surge of annoying questions that no one really cares about. We explore how these interruptions can turn a semi-productive meeting into a test of patience. Shifting gears, we tackle the universal debate of pizzerias, highlighting the absurdity of how every town believes their local joint serves the best pie, despite them all being strikingly similar. We also touch on the classic weather debates, pondering why people feel the need to comment on whether snow should be rain and vice versa. Join us for a funny take on everyday grievances that drive us all a little crazy!

As shots rang out on March 30, 1981 outside the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., President Ronald Reagan and three others lie seriously wounded. Just two months after Reagan was sworn in as the 40th president, John Hinckley Jr. shocked the world because of his movie star obsession. What followed was chaos. America learned of the deep psychosis that led to Hinckley's obsession with actress Jodie Foster, and how, in his mind, he did it all for her. His trial gripped the nation. Many expected a guilty verdict, but his acquittal on grounds of insanity sparked outrage and forever changed how the law viewed mental illness. Now, for the first time, Hinckley tells his own story. He takes us through an early life of unfulfilled dreams, a music career and college degree that slipped away, and the descent into a mind overcome by delusion. He recounts the years spent in confinement at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, the slow climb toward recovery, and the people who helped him find his way back.A life defined by a single, horrific act becomes something more: a story of mental illness, redemption, and the long road to understanding the man behind one of America's most infamous moments. Why can someone with dementia remember a delusion in vivid detail, yet forget what actually happened? In this video, I explain why dementia affects emotional memory differently from factual memory and why delusions can feel so real and unshakable. When you understand what's happening in the brain, it becomes easier to respond with comfort instead of argument. If you've ever felt frustrated trying to correct or reason with a loved one who believes something that isn't true, this will help you understand why logic doesn't work and what does. From “we need it to stop a caliphate marching through Europe” to breathless claims about vast rare earth riches, the commentary has devolved into pure nonsense. No facts, no experts—just boogeymen and buzzwords. Here's the reality no one in the media seems willing to explain: Greenland's mineral deposits are largely low grade, and mining there is an economic nightmare. Permafrost, brutal cold, months of darkness, brittle metals, custom equipment, nonexistent infrastructure, tiny shipping windows, and astronomical logistics costs make Arctic mining a capital-expenditure black hole. If it were economically viable, it would already be happening. In this episode, Chris breaks down why “rare earths in Greenland” is a fantasy, why mining companies won't touch it without taxpayer guarantees, and how this logic mirrors the same moral hazard we've seen with oil, banks, and bailouts before. Free markets don't work by executive order or political hype—and taxpayers shouldn't be forced to backstop uneconomic boondoggles. Do your homework.
THE WALKER ATTEMPT AND DELUSIONS IN NEW ORLEANS Colleague Paul Gregory. The narrative shifts to April 1963, when a shaken Oswald confessed to Marina that he had attempted to assassinate General Edwin Walker. Marina found a note with instructions but did not report him, though she threatened to leave if he tried such violence again. Soon after, Oswald moved to New Orleans to build credentials as a pro-Castro operative, hoping to secure a visa to Cuba and eventually the Soviet Union. Gregory explains that Oswald did not actually want to return to Russia but needed a Soviet visa to enter Cuba. During this period, Oswald became increasingly delusional, inventing aliases and seeking status, though there was no evidence yet of a plan to kill President Kennedy. NUMBER 4
In the current context of ubiquitous digital tech and runaway generative AI, you'd think that a book calling out our collective delusions about digital tools in relation to learning wouldn't make much of a splash! But Jared Cooney Horvath's latest book 'The Digital Delusion: How Classroom Technology Harms Our Kids' Learning -- And How To Help Them Thrive Again' (https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-digital-delusion-jared-horvath/1148995809?ean=9798218880378) is currently #1 on the Amazon bestseller list in Educational Psychology and has been receiving a lot of love, including from actor and educational activist, Hugh Grant, and author of The Anxious Generation, Jonathan Haidt! Jared is an old friend of the podcast, so I was really happy to invite him back on for a conversation about our shared concerns about the impacts that digital tech is having on our young people, the dubious motivations of Big Tech and the strange and growing alliance that is developing between people of all educational persuasions!Jared Cooney Horvath (PhD, MEd) is a neuroscientist, educator, and best-selling author who specializes in human learning and brain development. How can organizations make more equitable changes to their internal norms and structures, to promote fairness over merely seeking profit? What are alternate ways to tackle the difference in agreeableness that underpins many professional gaps between men and women?Cordelia Fine is a professor in the history and philosophy of science department at University of Melbourne, as well as the author of several books, including Patriarchy Inc.: What We Get Wrong About Gender Equality and Why Men Still Win at Work, Delusions of Gender: How Our Minds, Society, and Neurosexism Create Difference, and Testosterone Rex: Myths of Sex, Science, and Society.Greg and Cordelia discuss the complexities surrounding gender equality, including the contested reasons for wage differences and occupational gaps between men and women. Cordelia critiques the traditional and evolving gender norms, explains her stance on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) strategies, and advocates for more nuanced, context-aware approaches to addressing gender disparities. She challenges oversimplified evolutionary psychology narratives and underscores the importance of understanding the cultural evolution of gender roles. *unSILOed Podcast is produced by University FM.*Episode Quotes:Why valuing women isn't enough52:52: You can say pretty words about valuing the feminine. Oh, you know, women are great. They're so wonderful. They're so empathic and collaborative and participative, and they're really good at building people. But you can't just say that—you have to actually change your organizations so that you literally put your money where your mouth is, so that is what is actually being rewarded.Redefining patriarchy10:37: There's a sort of assumption that when we talk about patriarchy, we're just talking about the harm to girls and women. Its long been recognized, I think, in feminism that often men and certain groups of men do also face harms in that kind of system that's keeping some men on top.Why our ideas about sex differences often get it wrong20:58: I do think we have to be careful about looking at our—first of all, making assumptions about what sex differences actually are—because they're often, you know, a huge amount of overlap, contingent depending on the context and the cues. But also, to then project that back into our ancestral past without taking a kind of wider look at societies beyond the weird populations—Western, educated, industrialized, rich, democratic.Show Links:Recommended Resources:Cecilia L. As part of our Hidden Killers 2025 Year in Review series, we revisit one of the most surreal and unsettling trials in modern American true crime — the Arizona murder trial of Lori Vallow Daybell, the so-called Doomsday Mom who's decided to defend herself in court while accused of orchestrating the murder of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow. This episode pulls listeners straight into the Chandler, Arizona home where it all happened: two bullets, one body, and forty-seven silent minutes before anyone called for help. Tony Brueski and Defense Attorney Bob Motta (Defense Diaries) dissect the prosecution's opening narrative — one of delusion, greed, and cold calculation — and the defense's bizarre self-representation strategy that's turning the courtroom into a psychological sideshow. Prosecutors allege Lori conspired with her brother, Alex Cox, to kill Charles for a $1 million life insurance payout and to clear the way to marry her apocalyptic “soulmate,” Chad Daybell. The evidence? Texts invoking scripture to justify murder (“I will be like Nephi”), phone records revealing coordination, and chilling forensic details showing Charles was shot twice — the second bullet fired downward after he collapsed. Firefighters testified the scene looked staged: no CPR, no struggle, and an eerily spotless floor. Lori, meanwhile, was running errands — Burger King, Walgreens, dropping off her son — as her husband's body cooled on the tile. But this isn't just about evidence; it's about ego and delusion on trial. Motta breaks down Lori's decision to act as her own lawyer — fumbling through legal jargon, cross-examining witnesses who seem to know more law than she does, and repeatedly trying to exclude “inconvenient” evidence from the record. As he puts it, Lori's courtroom presence is “less Harvard Law, more hostage to her own hubris.” The prosecution, for its part, is playing this round differently — keeping the talk of “zombies” and dark spirits to a minimum while focusing on motive, money, and manipulation. The goal: strip away the spiritual theatrics and reveal the human greed underneath.

As part of our Hidden Killers 2025 Year in Review series, we revisit the opening days of one of the most chilling courtroom dramas in modern true crime — the Arizona trial of Lori Vallow Daybell, the self-declared prophet now serving life sentences in Idaho for the murders of her children, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, and the conspiracy to kill Tammy Daybell. This time, Lori stands accused of murdering her fourth husband, Charles Vallow — and she's decided to be her own lawyer. In this two-part special, Tony Brueski and Stacy Cole dissect the emotional and strategic fireworks from both sides of the courtroom, starting with the prosecution's explosive opening statement. Prosecutor Treena Kay laid out a devastating narrative of greed, manipulation, and religious delusion — alleging that Lori orchestrated the deaths of her husband and children to secure life insurance payouts and remove any obstacles to marrying Chad Daybell. Through phone records, witness testimony, and forensic evidence, the prosecution painted Lori as a woman willing to kill for prophecy, power, and profit. Tony and Stacy break down the psychological weight of the prosecution's arguments — from the use of religious ideology as control to the manipulation of her brother Alex Cox, who became her self-proclaimed “angel of death.” They also analyze the jury's visible reactions and the emotional undercurrent of a courtroom haunted by victims' families still seeking answers. Then, in Part Two, the focus shifts to Lori's stunning self-representation — and her surreal decision to stand as both defendant and defense counsel. Lori's opening statement cast herself as misunderstood and unfairly vilified, arguing that her brother acted in self-defense during Charles's death. But Tony and Stacy reveal how Lori's calm, confident demeanor may mask deep narcissism and delusion — a belief that she alone can rewrite the narrative of her crimes. As Tony and Stacy unpack the legal and psychological implications of Lori's “sovereign” defense, listeners gain rare insight into a defendant whose blend of charisma and chaos continues to defy legal logic and human empathy.

This week, in Lashmeet, West Virginia, a sudden, and brutal murder may have been brought on by a very strange living arrangement, involving a woman, her boyfriend, and her ex-husband, One day, both the woman, and her boyfriend begin drinking, in the morning. This obviously leads to the murder, but did they get the right person??
