Contact Mission Church of Christ serves to make disciples of Jesus Christ by planting seeds of hope and a future among youth and families from all walks of life and circumstances. We do this by following Jesus into Tulsa’s apartment complexes, neighborhoods, and public schools to share the Good News and create Kingdom community. As we serve, we also train and empower congregations and youth groups across Tulsa and beyond to do the same in their own backyards.

This week, David takes us across the Scriptures to help us open our hearts to the kind of Joy God wants to offer us through Jesus. As we head towards Christmas, David Skidmore will be preaching three sermons to draw us closer to Christ! This week, David looks at the story of Mary, anchored in her standing at the cross in John 19. He considers how the things she had treasured in her heart throughout her life while raising Jesus allowed her to not lose heart when things seemed the bleakest. In the same way, following Jesus will strengthen our hearts and prepare us for all the nasty that tries to drag us down. -- David Skidmore - December 5, 2021
This month, Dave Winn joins us from Jenks Church to bring us three great lessons about our relationship with GOD! The final lesson of the series jumps into the conversation Jesus and Nicodemus have as a gateway to understanding the greater things in store for us, the followers of Christ. God calls us to surrender to His way and work alongside Jesus to bring Heaven to Earth, even giving a double portion of blessing to us. What a great Father! -- Dave Winn - November 28, 2021
This month, Dave Winn joins us from Jenks Church to bring us three great lessons about our relationship with GOD! This month, Dave Winn joins us from Jenks Church to bring us three great lessons about our relationship with GOD! What we think about God determines much of who we are, good or bad. Dave shares stories and scripture to show that God is the ultimate, good Father! -- Dave Winn - November 7, 2021
Through a mix of Scripture and stories, David presents the message of the Cross in light of a world that often presents us with treats that turn out to be tricks. While the cross may seem foolish to the world around us, Jesus wants to give us more than we could ever imagine! -- David Skidmore - October 31, 2021
This week is Mission Sunday! First, we take time to explore common interpretation issues in the story of The Widow's Offering before looking at the counter-perspective the early church in Acts 2 and 4 offers. Taking a cue from that, we prepared for a time of giving and asking for needs to be met. Scott Blackwell shared about a new partnership with have with the local Burmese population, and the ways we are connecting with them to serve here in Tulsa and in Myanmar. Finally, we prayed and took a needs and resources offering to bless the church! -- Jonathan Stein - October 24, 2021
As we conclude our short series on this year's theme of service, we move from the theological foundations for why we serve and into the practical ways we can serve. This may no be the best listening, but in person it was a great to fill out cards related to our talents and available time so we could determine some of the resources available at Contact. We also took time to write notes of encouragement to people who were not at Contact this week. -- Jonathan Stein - October 17, 2021
As we keep our attention pn this year's theme of service, we take a look at five passages reflecting our call to be servants. Just like our Master, Jesus, we must SERVE (S.how Up, E.nd of the Line, R.ansom for Many, V.ariety of Gifts, and E.ternal Significance). -- Jonathan Stein - October 10, 2021

Our challenge, like Mary, is to say yes when Jesus calls us to do something! -- Kyler Erwin - May 30, 2021

We continue our series on the women in the genealogy of Jesus by exploring the story of Ruth and Naomi. This week we start a new series looking at the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew and asking why he chose to include five women, Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary. In this first lesson, we hear the rough story of Tamar and wrestle through how God uses messy people to tell His story. We also find that insightfulness often comes from the people we least expect, like Rahab in Jericho. We conclude our series on Good Friday, the 24 hours that includes Jesus washing his disciples feet, the Last Supper, the prayers in the garden, and the arrest, crucifixion, and burial. This week, we read and look at art through the remaining events of Good Friday, from the arrest to the tomb. Kyler breaks up the readings with seven songs that help us to reflect on the cross and Calvary. If you'd like to see the art, the YouTube video is available at https://youtu.be/STAeJ_2lF9Q?t=1084 -- Jonathan Stein - March 28, 2021
We continue our series on Good Friday, the 24 hours that includes Jesus washing his disciples feet, the Last Supper, the prayers in the garden, and the arrest, crucifixion, and burial. This week, we take time to meditate on Jesus' prayers of anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane. We use the practice of lectio divina, or divine reading, to slowly process the passage by reading multiple times: once for hearing, once for understanding, and once for applying. Also includes the song "I Need Thee Every Hour" led by Luke Dalton to break up the three sections. -- Jonathan Stein - March 21, 2021
We continue our series on Good Friday, the 24 hours that includes Jesus washing his disciples feet, the Last Supper, the prayers in the garden, and the arrest, crucifixion, and burial. This week, we stage a super trimmed down version of the Passover meal to understand the rich symbols and story Jesus layered His sacrifice on top of when He ate with the disciples in the upper room. Huge thanks to Valerie and David for helping on stage, and to Tim Mackie from the Bible Project - this sermon is basically a copy and paste of a couple he did in the past. -- Jonathan Stein - March 14, 2021
In our series for the month of March, we're spending time on Good Friday, the 24 hours that includes Jesus washing his disciples feet, the Last Supper, the prayers in the garden, and the arrest, crucifixion, and burial. This first week, we read from John 13 and consider modern and practical analogues to foot washing in our local context. This sermon contains more dead spaces than normal due to a lot of conversation with the congregation throughout the back half. -- Jonathan Stein - March 7, 2021
With the important exception of Jesus, all of us have fallen into the trap of sin and allowed it to drag us place that destroy us. All of us have a thing or forty-seven in life we regret, but do we keep hauling that around or seek to turn toward the Lord? We talk through what apocalypse means and some Ancient Near Eastern history so we can understand how to appropriately apply the visions of Daniel to the past, present, and future. -- Jonathan Stein - January 24, 2021 https://bibleproject.com/explore/video/daniel/"Overview: Daniel" is copyright 2016 by BibleProject and is available for viewing at www.bibleproject.com.
We're continuing our series on the Book of Daniel focusing on what the writer of Daniel has to say about the people of God living in exile in Babylon. Today we look at the incredibly famous story of Daniel being thrown into the Lion's Den, and we reflect on how Daniel 6 is, in many ways, a retread of chapters 1-5: same song, different verse. We close asking the overarching question, which kingdom will you be devoted to? -- Jonathan Stein - January 17, 2021
We're continuing our series on the Book of Daniel focusing on what the writer of Daniel has to say about the people of God living in exile in Babylon. Today we look at the stories of two kings, Nebuchadnezzar and his son Belshazzar. When faced with the reality of the True King of Heaven, how did these two kings respond - rebellion or humility? -- Jonathan Stein - January 10, 2021
