John is joined by Arlo Parks and Baird to talk about how they wrote, recorded and produced the album ‘Ambiguous Desire'. Arlo Parks is an indie-pop singer-songwriter from West London. After uploading demos to BBC Introducing as a teenager, she quickly attracted industry attention. Her debut album, ‘Collapsed in Sunbeams', arrived in 2021, establishing Arlo as one of the defining artists of her generation and earning her the Mercury Prize and two Grammy nominations. Arlo's third record, the more electronic-focused ‘Ambiguous Desire', was released in April 2026, co-written and produced by Baird, along with additional collaborators Paul Epworth and Sampha. Sitting down at Strongroom Studios in London, with Baird joining online, Arlo and Baird discuss the “runaway train” of their symbiotic creative process and how they recreated the feel of the club and dancefloor through the record's distinctive grooves. They share never previously heard freestyles, demos and vocal tracking secrets from the studio, and they answer questions from our Patreon community! Andrew Bayliss explores the aftermath of Sparta's victory, noting that Lysander's immense power and ambition ultimately led to his death during a failed siege. Sparta's dominance eventually collapsed at the Battle of Leuctra due to a dwindling citizen population, reducing the once-mighty superpower to a minor village.1890 VOYAGERS

Teens are getting hit hard by one of the weakest summer job markets in decades, and experts say it's more than just bad luck. With businesses tightening budgets, cautious consumer spending, and even older workers competing for entry-level roles, seasonal jobs for 16–19-year-olds have dropped to historic lows, reshaping what summer work looks like for an entire generation.

As Syracuse collapsed into disorder, the mother city of Corinth sent Timoleon with a small hired army to intervene. James Romm notes that to the surprise of many, Dionysius the Younger abdicated voluntarily in exchange for a peaceful retirement in Corinth. He lived his remaining years in impoverishment, reportedly working as a music teacher and priest. His downfall became the source of the proverb "Dionysius is in Corinth," signifying that even the most powerful ruler can be brought low. Dionysius claimed his ability to endure exile proved he had actually learned from Plato's teachings. (6/8)SYRACUSE
In 2011, Cantor Gaming stormed into Las Vegas with the swagger of Wall Street, led by Howard Lutnick at the helm of the parent company Cantor Fitzgerald and Lee Amaitis running the Nevada operation. Known for pioneering mobile sports wagering and accepting unprecedented high-limit bets—sometimes as large as $500,000—Cantor positioned itself as the cutting edge of sports gaming. To many, it looked like a revolution: bettors flocked to its books at the M Resort and beyond, drawn by the promise of action other operators wouldn't touch. But behind the gloss of innovation, Cantor became entangled in one of the largest illegal betting scandals in modern history. The so-called “Jersey Boys,” an East Coast ring with deep ties to organized bookmaking, infiltrated the operation through Cantor executive Michael Colbert. With Colbert as their insider, the crew laundered millions through Cantor's system, exploiting the company's appetite for volume and its disregard for traditional risk limits. The scheme collapsed in 2012 when Colbert and more than two dozen associates were arrested in a sweeping FBI crackdown. Nevada regulators soon levied one of the largest fines in state history—$5.5 million—citing Cantor's lack of oversight. Amaitis stepped down in 2016, his reputation scarred, while the Cantor brand itself was rebranded as CG Technology in a failed attempt to shed its baggage. By 2020, the company was sold to William Hill, its ambitions of dominating Las Vegas reduced to a cautionary tale. The Jersey Boys scandal not only crippled Cantor but reshaped the entire sports gaming industry, ushering in stricter compliance, tighter wagering oversight, and a lasting reminder that unchecked ambition and Wall Street arrogance could topple even the flashiest of innovators.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

The Becoming You Show with Leah Roling: Inspire, Impact, & Influence Your Life
Personal development sells the awakening. It rarely talks about what comes after. What happens on the ordinary Tuesday when the realization has happened and the rest of your life hasn't caught up to it yet? The job still wants you. The relationship still expects you. The old patterns still offer themselves the moment you get tired. This is where most of the real work lives, and almost no one is honest about how strange and quiet it is. In the closing episode of the May series on courage, Leah names what it actually looks like to live from the worthy self — not the breakthrough moment, not the retreat high, but the slow, real, often lonely becoming of the weeks and months that follow. She names the costs almost nobody mentions, the grace that arrives in the most unglamorous forms, and the question that replaces all the other questions once you have finally stopped collapsing into a single performed version of yourself. This is the integration episode. Less disruption. More devotion. The invitation to stop visiting the worthy self on retreats and quiet mornings, and start living there — one un-collapsed choice at a time. In this episode: • Why the awakening is the easy part — and what actually happens in the months after • The specific, unglamorous costs of living un-collapsed • Three things that change when you stop performing worthiness • The question that replaces all the other questions • A closing blessing for the life you have been afraid to ask for
Wisconsin Assembly Rep. Jill Billings could have made some big money betting on the prediction markets over the $1.8 billion budget surplus deal that fell through last week. Now, though, that's illegal, after a Gov. Tony Evers executive order banning state employees and their families from making those types of bets. We get into all of it with Billings (D-La Crosse) — specifically how the deal to lower property taxes, send money to schools, give out $300 rebate checks and end taxes on tips and overtime fell through. Billings talks about her process for supporting the deal, but also the specific trade-offs she wasn't happy with. Plus, Billings tells the story about a legislator's joke that hinted to her the deal was not going to pass the state Senate — getting back to how she could have made a big bet on the deal. We also discussed how the Legislature had just three days to vote on this $1.8 billion package, and compared that to the $500 million Milwaukee Brewers stadium funding deal that was hashed out in public for over a month. Welcome back to Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu. In today's deep dive, we're unpacking the often-misunderstood story of Sweden's economic transformation—and the crucial lessons it holds for America. Our host challenges the popular narrative that Sweden's “Nordic model” is a socialist success story, revealing instead how excessive wealth redistribution led to Sweden's economic collapse in the 1990s. We'll explore how the country's dramatic shift toward market reforms reignited innovation and prosperity, and why attempts to replicate a large-scale welfare state—without robust economic growth—are doomed to fail. Drawing on global case studies, tax migration, and the pitfalls of top-down controls, you'll learn why wealth creation must come before redistribution, and why real solutions require fiscal discipline and honest debate about the costs of our social programs. If you've ever wondered what America can—and can't—learn from Sweden, this episode is for you. 00:00 - Intro 02:33 - Part 1: The Real Sweden — How They Killed the Nordic Model and Got Rich 07:04 - Part 2: The Power Law of Prosperity — Why Socialism Fails at Scale 20:03 - Part 3: How Every Bloated Welfare State Eventually Collapses 26:39 - Part 4: The Path Forward — How America Avoids Sweden's Mistake What's up, everybody? There are moments in business that not enough women talk about. The moments where you're looking at the numbers halfway through the month and wondering how you're going to hit the goal. The moments where you don't know where the next client is coming from. The moments where things feel uncertain, stretched, uncomfortable, or quiet. In this episode, I'm sharing one small but profound shift that has completely changed the way I move through those moments and honestly, the way I create my entire life and business. For a long time, I found myself praying for the sale, the client, the invoice, the external thing to happen. But underneath it all, it was creating emotional instability because my power was still living outside of me. Everything changed when I stopped praying for the thing and started praying to become the version of me who could hold it. The woman who could hold the money. Hold the pressure. Hold the uncertainty. Hold the growth. Hold the responsibility of the life and business she says she wants. In this episode, I talk about: the shift that changed the way I manifest and create emotional stability in business collapsing time and accelerating growth co-creation, leadership, and inner transformation what happens when you stop outsourcing your power to external circumstances becoming the woman who can actually sustain what she desires I also share more about my upcoming in-person event, Becoming a Match for More: Money & Clients, a deeper conversation around money, capacity, identity, energetics, and the internal shifts required to hold more in business and life. The Jersey Boys scandal not only crippled Cantor but reshaped the entire sports gaming industry, ushering in stricter compliance, tighter wagering oversight, and a lasting reminder that unchecked ambition and Wall Street arrogance could topple even the flashiest of innovators.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

ATI — the educational arm of Bill Gothard's IBLP — shut down in 2021. The organization that spent decades providing curriculum to homeschooling families including the Duggars ceased operations without remediation, without outreach to former students, and without any institutional acknowledgment of the educational gaps it created. The adults it produced are still rebuilding. This week's True Crime Today review examines the most consequential conversations from our series on the Duggar family curriculum — the ideological architecture of the Wisdom Booklets, the institutional reach of the Character First program, and the measurable outcomes for adults who completed the full IBLP educational track. The curriculum's law and government modules framed democratic governance without divine authority as utopianism. The French Revolution was presented as a consequence of collective disobedience to God. Illness was attributed to failures of spiritual submission. The authority structure that governed the entire system concentrated power in a single individual — Bill Gothard — while requiring total compliance from everyone beneath him. The Character First program extended this framework into public school systems by repackaging obedience-based theology as secular character education. The educational outcomes document the cost. Former students report math instruction that ended at fractions. ACT scores achieved without any corresponding GPA that higher education institutions would recognize. Professional credentials — including law degrees obtained through IBLP-adjacent institutions — that proved nonfunctional in practice. Adults who lacked basic understanding of their own physiology into their twenties. The system produced compliance. It did not produce competence. When it shut down, the people who had spent their formative years inside it were left to close the gap on their own — with no institutional support and no public accountability for what was taken from them.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? If you feel like you're doing too much, it's not just about workload, it's about identity. I see this all the time, when your identity isn't clear, you try to do everything to make up for it. That's why your actions multiply but nothing really connects. In this episode, I explain how doing more is often a sign of fragmentation, not productivity. When I'm not clear on who I am and what I stand for, I end up scattered across too many things. The real move is to collapse the identity into one clear direction, because clarity reduces the need to do so much. Show Notes: [02:27]#1 A collapsed identity eliminates optional roles. [11:45]#2 Doing more compensates for unclear positioning. [18:58]#3 Collapse precedes leverage. Is McDonald's Taking Away Soda Machines Because Customers Changed, or Because Trust Collapsed? In this episode of Go Right with Peter Boykin, the Constitutionalist for Liberty, we take a closer look at McDonald's removing self-serve soda machines from dining rooms across America and what that small change says about something much bigger. Is this really just about changing consumer habits, mobile orders, delivery, and restaurant efficiency?Or is it about a culture where trust has collapsed, customer perks are disappearing, prices keep rising, and honest customers are paying the price for abuse, theft, and corporate cost-cutting?We break down how fast food used to offer value, convenience, refills, and customer service, while today many businesses are charging more, offering less, moving everything behind the counter, and replacing service with apps, kiosks, restrictions, and corporate excuses. This is not just about soda.It is about trust. It is about responsibility. It is about customer service. It is about free markets, business accountability, and what happens when both corporations and consumers stop respecting the basic exchange that made everyday life work.Watch the full episode and join the conversation.Article Link:https://gorightnews.com/is-mcdonalds-taking-away-soda-machines-because-customers-changed-or-because-trust-collapsed/Watch on YouTube:https://youtu.be/gNn190bthZoWatch on Rumble:https://rumble.com/v79gnz2-is-mcdonalds-taking-away-soda-machines-because-customers-changed-or-because.htmlWatch on BitChute:https://www.bitchute.com/video/z6rQQyY8vB1L/Listen on Spreaker:https://www.spreaker.com/episode/is-mcdonald-s-taking-away-soda-machines-because-customers-changed-or-because-trust-collapsed--71885285Visit:GoRightNews.comPeterBoykin.comGoRightNC.comGoRightMusic.comSupport Go Right News:Cash App: $GoRightNews#GoRight, #PeterBoykin, #GoRightNews, #TheConstitutionalistForLiberty, #McDonalds, #SodaMachines, #SelfServeSoda, #FastFood, #CustomerService, #Business, #FreeMarket, #Capitalism, #ConsumerHabits, #TrustCollapsed, #CorporateAmerica, #Inflation, #CostCutting, #CustomerPerks, #PersonalResponsibility, #Accountability, #ConstitutionalRepublic, #GoRightPodcast, #Rumble, #YouTube, #Podcast, #America, #Freedom, #ResponsibilityBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/go-right-with-peter-boykin-the-constitutionalist-for-liberty--3096608/support.

Is your kid planning to major in computer science? Before they commit, you need to see the data — and it's not what colleges are advertising. Computer science enrollment exploded 500% from 2008 to 2024. Now it's dropping — down 8.1% since 2025 according to the College Clearinghouse. Meanwhile, engineering is up 7.3% and data analytics has grown by 35,000 students since 2020. In this episode of College Coffee Talk, Andy and Pearl Lockwood break down: - Why computer science may be following the gender studies path — impressive-sounding, but economically risky- Which majors are actually rising right now (and why they track the CS decline almost exactly)- Why your kid needs to be learning AI regardless of what they major in — and what "learning AI" actually means- The financial aid negotiation move that got one family $64,000 more from Johns Hopkins- Why waitlisted students almost never win financial aid appeals — and what "preferential packaging" really means This is the conversation guidance counselors aren't having with your family. LCP has it every Monday. **Chapters:**0:00 — Is computer science the new gender studies?2:05 — The CS enrollment data: 500% rise, now dropping4:20 — What's rising instead: engineering and data analytics5:06 — Why every student needs to learn AI (not what you think)13:42 — Pearl's perspective: financial aid negotiation14:25 — The case that worked: $64K more from Hopkins16:14 — The case that didn't: why waitlisted students lose appeals17:25 — Preferential packaging explained18:25 — Tax returns and financial aid appeals For more information visit: LockwoodCollegePrep.com #CollegeMajors #ComputerScience #CollegePlanning #LCPCoffeeTalk

A story about choosing who not to serve—and building competitive advantage no crisis can touch. This episode is for sales-led SaaS founders who've never tested whether their revenue would survive a major market shock — and aren't sure they want to know the answer. Most software companies are built to serve as many customers as possible. Louis Hoch, CEO of Usio, chose differently.Louis has been building in payments since 1998. He raised $50 million while competitors raised $200 million—and won. He built a company that processes enough direct bank payment volume to rank as the 50th largest bank in the United States. When COVID hit and rivals saw revenue drop by as much as 80%, Usio grew. That outcome wasn't luck. It was a customer decision made years earlier that most CEOs would never make. What Louis did—deliberately, by design—was say no to entire industries. Not because he couldn't serve them. Because serving them would have cost him everything else. And this inspired me to invite Louis to my podcast. We explore how deliberate customer rejection builds a resilience that no market crisis can touch. Louis shares insights about turning regulatory hurdles into early competitive positioning, building payment channel diversity while staying ruthlessly focused on vertical, and why the companies that fail are often the ones who stayed truest to their original idea. You'll discover what happens to your revenue when a crisis hits — and you made the right customer choices years earlier. We also zoom in on two of the 10 traits that define remarkable software companies: Acknowledge you cannot please everyone Aim to be different, not just betterLouis's story proves that remarkable companies don't just pick their market—they pick what they will never serve, and build their advantage from that constraint. Here's one of Louis's quotes that captures his philosophy on what it takes to survive as a founder:"What you think you're going to be when you start a software company and what you end up being are often different. The companies that are successful understand that. The companies that fail try to maintain their focus on what their original product or service is."By listening to this episode, you'll learn:Why going public before your first customer can be your strongest sales moveWhy giving customers the conditions to choose beats telling them what they needWhy your original business plan may be the biggest threat to your survivalWhy operating leverage has to be designed in from the start — not stumbled into laterGuest: Louis Hoch, CEO and Chairman of UsioWebsite: usio.com
Jay Richards spent five months deep in an acquisition process. He had a letter of intent. He had mentally checked out. He was planning what came next. Then issues surfaced in diligence and the deal collapsed. This week on Built to Sell Radio, Jay walks John Warrillow through the full story of selling Imagen Insights, a qualitative research platform with clients like Visa, Google, and Amazon, and how you discover how to navigate two very different acquisition conversations and come out the other side with a deal you are genuinely happy with. You'll learn why: an LOI means far less than you think, and how problems in your books can kill a deal founders who shop their company can signal desperation, and what Jay did instead the eventual buyer valued the business on EBITDA instead of revenue, and why that worked in Jay's favor Jay accepted an earn-out worth more than half the deal, and why he was comfortable with it handing out equity without vesting created a problem at the worst possible moment a long-standing accountant relationship does not guarantee clean books, and how this nearly killed the deal the moment the DocuSign came through did not bring relief, but a flood of new ideas

Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
The Kelsey Fitzsimmons case turns on a single evidentiary question: where was the muzzle of that gun pointed? At herself or at the officer in her doorway? Every other fact in this case — the postpartum depression diagnosis, the restraining order, the 53-day hospitalization, the alleged removal of exculpatory evidence — feeds into how a judge answers that question. Because she waived her jury. That decision alone deserves scrutiny. Here's what the record shows. Fitzsimmons was on documented medical leave for postpartum depression when her ex filed a sworn affidavit alleging she was a danger to herself and their child. That filing triggered a restraining order and a custody removal. Her own colleagues executed it at her door on June 30, 2025. She was shot. Fifty-three days in the hospital. Collapsed lung.During that hospitalization, her ex allegedly entered her home, took her laptop, accessed her personal accounts, and removed a letter he had written describing her as an amazing mother — a document with obvious evidentiary value to her defense. The DA reviewed it and declined to prosecute. He faces no charges. She faces felony assault. That asymmetry is not incidental to this case. It is the case.Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines the evidentiary picture here — the weight of competing sworn accounts at a shooting scene, what a DA's pass on the break-in actually signals, and whether a bench trial gives Kelsey Fitzsimmons any real advantage or eliminates the one safety net that might have understood what she was going through.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? This week in True Crime Today's Week in Review, with the guilty verdict now on record, the legal decisions made during the final stretch of the Kouri Richins murder trial deserve a complete accounting. On Day 13, following the denial of a directed verdict motion and the final cross-examination of lead investigator Detective Jeff O'Driscoll, the defense rested without calling a single witness. Three were reportedly prepared. One hour behind closed doors. Then silence.Tony Brueski examines the legal architecture of that decision — the directed verdict standard, why it failed, and the procedural position the defense was in when that recess ended. Viewed against a guilty verdict on all counts returned in three hours, the choice to rest without testimony takes on added weight.Eric Faddis, defense attorney and former felony prosecutor, provides the most rigorous pre-verdict legal accounting of where this case was vulnerable and where it wasn't. The drug use theory had been challenged on three fronts: a judicial ruling, witness testimony from Eric's personal circle, and forensic toxicology. Both key prosecution witnesses held immunity agreements and altered their accounts. A detective's recorded statements were used against the state mid-trial. Faddis assessed each of these defense arguments with full credibility — and then turned to the deception record the jury ultimately had to weigh. A forged insurance signature. A jailhouse letter written as a destruction instruction. Phone searches. Text messages requesting fentanyl three days after Eric Richins died. The jury deliberated for three hours. This is the legal map of how the verdict got there.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Bitcoin adoption continues to accelerate even as investor sentiment remains weak and global markets face growing uncertainty. Major institutions are quietly moving deeper into crypto, with Mastercard launching a new crypto partner program, Wells Fargo exploring a potential stablecoin, and Kraken gaining access to Federal Reserve payment rails. At the same time, regulators are coordinating oversight and lawmakers are pushing forward the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which could define the future of crypto regulation in the United States. As cracks begin to appear in traditional finance, the big question is whether Bitcoin is entering the next phase of mainstream adoption while the legacy system starts to strain.
