POPULARITY
Interview by Kris PetersForty years is a long time, no matter what it refers to, but when it relates to a band that is still going strong after four decades in the music industry, it takes on even greater significance.Known for their lunatic personas and stage antics backed by solid musical skills and songwriting chops, D-A-D made their international breakthrough in 1989 with the album No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims which spawned the hits Girl Nation, Jihad, Point Of View and the MTV favourite and global smash single Sleeping My Day Away.Songs such as Laugh ‘n' a 1/2, Bad Craziness, Grow and Pay, Everything Glows and many more are a part of some people's lives just as important as their own children, and Australian fans get the chance to allow their children to hear them live when D.A.D return to Australia in May.Get ready for an unapologetic, hard-hitting rock ‘n' roll show from Denmark when D-A-D return for their Greatest Hits Tour, treating fans, old and new, to a sonic journey through the band's illustrious career. Every time the band steps on stage, another party starts, with vocalist Jacob Binzer joining HEAVY to warn us what we might expect."I'm packed and ready to go," he laughed. "I wish I could spend more time down there, but it's the start of the festival season in Europe, so unfortunately, we have to head back straight after. I think I can spend a couple of days in Melbourne after the last show, which I will enjoy, but then we are back to Europe. But Australia, you know what? The first time back in the early nineties, when we went to promote and play for the album back then I went up North to Cairns and I went on a motorcycle safari with a local guide, and I want to do that again. So please join in if anyone down there can help. A motorcycle safari in Cairns. How about that?"In the full interview, Jacob provided insights into the band's upcoming Australian tour, set to begin on May 20 in Perth, with additional performances in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. He discussed the challenges of curating a greatest hits set list from their extensive catalogue, emphasizing the importance of selecting songs that resonate with Australian audiences, such as God Praise to Man, 1900, and Sleeping My Day Away. He explains how different songs seem to go better in different parts of the world and why.The conversation also touched on the band's loyal fan base and the vibrant atmosphere of their live shows, particularly in Australia, where they aim to create an energetic experience. Jacob reflected on the success of their breakthrough album, No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims, and the significance of celebrating 40 years as a band, their achievements and musical legacy after 40 years and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

God wants to do a "new thing" in your life—a new time of forgiveness, blessing, restoration, and God's presence. Isaiah wrote about a "New Exodus. " Just as God had led His people out of Egypt and through the Red Sea (Exodus 12—15), He would lead you if you drew nearer to Him to a "new thing." This is your exodus, for this, we give God Praise! Psalm 150 is the final psalm in the Book of Psalms, and it is a triumphant call to worship and praise God. It serves as a fitting conclusion to the entire collection of psalms by emphasizing the importance of praising the Lord in every possible way. Structure and Themes: 1.The Command to Praise (Verses 1-2): The psalm opens with a direct call to praise God: “Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens!” This sets the tone for the psalm, calling for worship not just on earth but in the entire universe. The reference to the sanctuary and the heavens underscores that God's presence is both near (in the temple or place of worship) and vast (spanning the heavens). The next verse commands praise for God's mighty deeds and His surpassing greatness, pointing to the reasons for this praise—God's power and majesty. 2.The Means of Praise (Verses 3-5): These verses provide a detailed list of musical instruments that should be used in praising God—trumpets, harps, lyres, tambourines, strings, pipes, and cymbals. The variety of instruments reflects the breadth and diversity of worship, suggesting that all forms of musical expression can be used to glorify God. The crescendo of praise builds with “loud clashing cymbals,” emphasizing the jubilant and unrestrained nature of this worship. It is not meant to be quiet or reserved but loud, expressive, and joyful. 3.Universal Call to Praise (Verse 6): The psalm closes with an inclusive command: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” This statement widens the scope of praise to include all living beings, not just humans. It is a universal call for all creation to join in the act of worship. Key Insights: •Total Praise: Psalm 150 is about praising God with everything we have—our voices, instruments, and breath. It invites all creation to acknowledge God's greatness and respond with joy and celebration. •Unrestricted Worship: The psalm emphasizes that worship is not limited to a specific location or a specific type of music. It is to be expressed in many forms, with various instruments and in different settings. •Celebration of God's Power and Majesty: The reasons for praising God are His mighty acts and surpassing greatness. This highlights that God's works are awe-inspiring, and His nature is beyond comprehension, deserving our highest praise. In summary, Psalm 150 is a vibrant expression of worship, inviting every creature to use all forms of artistic and musical expression to honor and praise the Lord for His magnificent works and infinite greatness.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.
Welcome to Day 2467 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 22:22-31 Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2467 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2467 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.. In today's Wisdom Nugget, we'll be focusing on Psalm 22:22-31 from the New Living Translation. This portion of Psalm 22 shifts from a cry for help to a triumphant declaration of God's faithfulness and a vision of the global impact of His deliverance. Let's begin by reading the passage together. Psalm 22:22-31 (NLT): 22 I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people. 23 Praise the Lord, all you who fear him! Honor him, all you descendants of Jacob! Show him reverence, all you descendants of Israel! 24 For he has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned his back on them, but has listened to their cries for help. 25 I will praise you in the great assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you. 26 The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the Lord will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy. 27 The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to him. All the families of the nations will bow down before him. 28 For royal power belongs to the Lord. He rules all the nations. 29 Let the rich of the earth feast and worship. Bow before him, all who are mortal, all whose lives will end as dust. 30 Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. 31 His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born. They will hear about everything he has done. A Declaration of Praise (Verses 22-23): In verse 22, we immediately notice the shift in tone. Where the earlier verses of Psalm 22 were filled with cries of desperation and anguish, here David begins with a bold declaration: “I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.” David has moved from personal distress to public praise. It's a significant transformation—a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is always the potential for God's deliverance and a reason to testify of His goodness. David promises to proclaim God's name, not just privately but among “brothers and sisters”—his fellow Israelites, those who fear the Lord. This is a communal celebration of God's faithfulness, and it sets the tone for what follows. In verse 23, he calls upon all who fear the Lord to join him in praising God: “Praise the Lord, all you who fear him! Honor him, all you descendants of Jacob! Show him reverence, all you descendants of Israel!” David is urging everyone who reveres God, especially the people of Israel, to lift up their voices in worship and honor. The language here is one of corporate praise—a gathering of God's people united in worship. This teaches us an important truth: God's deliverance in our lives is never just for our

For Jesus Followers, God Has Compassion on Them, His Children, as they Praise and Fear Him MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a Jesus Follower, then you believe that God is the Creator of the Universe and that God is the Sovereign Lord of the Universe. Therefore, as Sovereign Lod, God merits your fear, respect, praise, and awe for the Grace, love, and mercy He has given to you. Proverbs 1:7 tells you that the “Fear of the Lord”, while bringing the Lord's “Compassion” and “Blessings”, also, brings you “Knowledge”: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.". David models again and again, as in Psalms 117:1-2, how we should praise God: "Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.". In Psalms 112:1-2, David again admonishes you to praise and to fear the Lord: “Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.". Therefore, God, as our Father, has compassion on us His children as we praise and fear Him. TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, when I read even part of the story of Job, I too am overwhelmed by your “wildness.” Your ways and timing are beyond me. Job moved from hearing about you to having “seen you.” Lead me, Lord, on a pathway so that I too can pray as Job prayed: “My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you” (Job 42:5). Romans 16:25-26 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; When Paul referred to the “revelation of the mystery” of God, he was referring to God's plan to include the Gentiles in God's promise to Abraham. Here's how Paul described his ministry to the Ephesians. Ephesians 3:1-6 “For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles — Ephesians 3:2 if indeed you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace which was given to me for you; Ephesians 3:3 that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief. Ephesians 3:4 By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, Ephesians 3:5 which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; Ephesians 3:6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, With the Romans, we receive this incredible encouragement from the gospel—through the Scriptures we have received perseverance and encouragement—to live to love with Jesus for the glory of God. Through the gospel we learn that we are loved by God, chosen from the beginning by Him, that we might be established—that we might be made to stand fast—in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul started this verse with “Now to Him who…” Let us be encouraged today to join the apostle Paul in sounding forth this tribute to God who has saved us through the gospel. He has justified us in Christ, through whom we have received our introduction by faith into the grace in which we stand (Rom. 5:1-2). We need to do this NOW! Having received the gospel, Paul called the Romans not to delay in giving God glory. As he concluded his letter, he led them to do what every recipient of grace from God through Jesus Christ should do upon the realization of what God has done for them—give God glory. We'll focus on the glory of God tomorrow. Today, I encourage you to think back over all the encouragement you have received as we've gone through the book of Romans in the Live to Love Scripture Encouragements podcast. Consider all that God has done to establish you, to make you stand and love out of that place of grace. I encourage you today to worship God and pay tribute to Him for He predestined, called, justified, and glorified you in Christ. He is worthy of our daily obedience, praise, adoration, and thanksgiving.

When you are walking through a hard season, do you struggle to be grateful? I know I do. I think it is very common to focus on the things we have lost and focus on the hard circumstances. If we are really honest, it is hard to see the little gifts God is providing in the middle of the big storm. But this is exactly what I want to talk with you about today. We are going to be highlighting the G in my STRENGTH acrostic from my book, Depth: Growing Through Heartbreak to Strength. The G stands for Give Praise to God even as your heart breaks. Oh friend, this is so difficult, but I think this is so important. I am so excited to have Angie Green on the podcast with me. We met back in January, and I have to say this woman is so full of hope and joy. She reminds me of a grandma that loves to pour out truth and wisdom and I cannot wait for you to hear her story. Book Recommendations: *Depth by Jodi Rosser *A Grace Disguised by Jerry Sittser by John Mason *In Light of Eternity and *Heaven by Randy Alcorn *Grieving the Child I Never Knew by Kathe Wunnenberg With the advantage of a long and close walk with God, Angie's life has been undergirded with a strong faith and desire to proclaim the love, faithfulness and goodness of God in the storms of life; the good, bad and ugly times and seasons. A servant leader, Angie is an experienced vocalist, songwriter, Bible study leader, small group facilitator, speaker and spiritual mentor. She has been mentoring, teaching, writing, blogging and speaking about the existence, presence and loving movements and actions of God for decades. Angie's journey through grief after the sudden cardiac death of her youngest son, Kevin, in 2002 ripped out a piece of her heart leaving her feeling broken. Ultimately her journey of grief moved her from the edge of the grave to the edge of Eternity, and she would say she is living her best life with her husband, Bob, in Northern Colorado living with a renewed eternal perspective after surviving the fires of unexpected sorrow. In March 2006, Angie co-founded “Mothers Like Me Grief Care and Comfort Ministry” with Cynthia Roth-Weightman for grieving moms in Southern California. When Angie and her husband, Bob, relocated to Northern Colorado in 2008, the ministry continued as Angie envisioned “helping more moms in more places.” *Note: If you are interested in purchasing this book or the books recommended, I would love for you to use the Amazon Affiliate link above to help support the podcast. If you entertain the devil and his lies, he will convince you that God is not who He says He is, and cause you to operate in fear and a place of dysfunction. The devil might not get you to quit loving God, but you may feel you don't fully trust Him. Pastor Dawn showed how God wants to awaken you to the truths that will restore you to bold faith and sweet fellowship with Him on a daily basis, just as He originally intended. Unless our righteousness exceeds that of the Scribes and the Pharisees, we will never enter the kingdom of heaven. At a minimum, this statement of Jesus' should make us sit up and pay attention. How can anyone fulfil such a requirement-- What hope do we have-- And there's no -cheating- allowed by relaxing any of God's commandments. Our only hope is Jesus Christ, who has come to fulfill the Law and the Prophets- every last detail of them. What a gracious gift this is- that in Him, we should become the very righteousness of God- Praise the Lord-
For Jesus Followers, God Has Compassion on Them, His Children, as they Praise and Fear Him MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a Jesus Follower, then you believe that God is the Creator of the Universe and that God is the Sovereign Lord of the Universe. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 89). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Self-Centeredness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Love. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). Ephesians 3:19b-21 The goal of Paul's second prayer for the Gentile churches is that they would be "filled with all the fullness of God"! Certainly, Paul IS NOT praying for Christians to become GOD -- that was the original temptation of the serpent (Satan) in the Garden. Rather, Paul is praying for Christians (collectively, as the Church) to be entirely filled (controlled, subdued) by GOD's holiness & glory.
Psalm 145:1-8 Pastor Kevin Hancock
