Send us a textAs we close out the year, I'm bringing back one of our most compelling and courageous voices—Nate Manderson—for his sixth appearance on the podcast. And trust me, this conversation lands with urgency, clarity, and fire.Nate's journey—from the docks to the classroom, from seminary at Gordon-Conwell to the front lines of working-class advocacy—has shaped him into a writer and thinker who refuses easy answers. You've read his work in Baptist News Global, The Boston Globe, and Salon.com. This time, we dig deep into his December article, “Reclaiming Christianity from Evangelical Hypocrites,” and ask what finally motivated him to write it.We talk about Christian nationalism, MAGA Christianity, and why the public face of faith today feels so disconnected from the teachings of Jesus—especially for women, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, and the poor. We unpack the obsession with “family values,” the hypocrisy surrounding power and profit, and the way evangelicalism has become a very lucrative brand.Nate still identifies as a Christian—but not that version. He offers a different set of priorities: under-resourced schools, desperate communities, a path to citizenship, healthcare, and an unapologetic commitment to the working class. It's a bracing contrast between two competing visions of Jesus—and two very different futures. We close with Nate's predictions for 2026: the midterms, healthcare battles, MAGA Republicanism, and what the 250-year American experiment might demand of us next. This is not a polite conversation. It's an honest one—and a necessary way to end the year.SHOW NOTESSupport the showBecome a Patron - Click on the link to learn how you can become a Patron of the show. Thank you! The Gospel of Jesus 11-23-25 by Praise Community Church
In this powerful message, Pastor Suzie Genin of Dwelling House Church (Madison, WI) reminds us that the gospel of Jesus Christ truly is enough. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 1, Pastor Suzie teaches how the wisdom of God often appears foolish to the world—yet it is the very power that brings salvation, transformation, and freedom. This sermon calls believers back to the simplicity of following Jesus with surrendered hearts. Pastor Suzie challenges us to lay down self-reliance, pride, and the world's standards of success so we can take up a posture of humility, service, and obedience. Through real-life testimonies, Scripture, and the work God is doing in the next generation, we see how the message of the cross still changes lives today. If you're searching for a Spirit-led church, hungry for authentic biblical teaching, or longing for a deeper walk with Jesus, this message will strengthen your faith and encourage you to trust fully in the gospel—because Jesus really is enough. We believe only one thing is needed: to sit at His feet, abide in His presence, and let His Word shape us. Located in Madison, WI — we invite you to join us and experience a vibrant community where Jesus is all in all. This sermon Answers: 1. Why is the message of the gospel considered “foolishness” to the world? 2. What does it practically look like to surrender your life to Jesus? 3. How does God use weakness and simplicity to reveal His power?
In 1st Corinthians Ch. 16 Paul had to remind them of why and how generosity should be a natural reaction to the Gospel Of Jesus.Frank Spalding and the preaching team at Lincoln Hills Christian Church welcomes all those seeking to know more about the Real Jesus and how to be an active disciple.
When you have experienced salvation through Jesus Christ, Who is the Light, you have a responsibility to be a witness for Him.

The Gospel Of Jesus Our Only Hope | Jabin Chavez | City Light Church by Jabin Chavez
Jesus Follower's Greatest Witness for the Gospel of Jesus, in a Hurting World, is for Others to See Jesus in Them MESSAGE SUMMARY: You need to live the Christian life in whatever you do – at home; in your job; in the way that you drive; and in the way that you treat your friends. We live in a hurting world, but God wants more for you. To achieve God's desire for your life, you must stay in fellowship and communion with God; and you must let Him work in your life. In Colossians 3:17, Paul challenges us: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”. If you live your life, in all places and situations, in the name of Jesus, you will live a better life in our hurting world. As Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.". Remember, the greatest witness for the Gospel, as a follower of Jesus, that you can give is for others to see Jesus in you. TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, I confess that when difficulties and trials come into my life, large or small, I mostly grumble and complain. I realize the trials James talks about are not necessarily “walls,” but they are difficult to bear, nonetheless. Fill me with such a vision of a transformed life, O God, that I might actually consider it “pure joy” when you bring trials my way. I believe, Lord. Help my unbelief. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 94). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Inadequacy. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Abundance. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). 1 Thessalonians 2:10 by Marcus Mullet | Lead Elder
1 Thessalonians 2:9 by Marcus Mullet | Lead Pastor
Divorce is a painful reality that touches many lives—sometimes publicly, sometimes quietly. Scripture acknowledges this pain, and Jesus meets it not with legalism, but with compassion and clarity. In Matthew 19, He points us back to God's heart, offering grace to those carrying the weight of broken relationships. Too often, shame and guilt are added by misread or rigid interpretations of Scripture, but the gospel offers something far deeper: forgiveness, healing, and the transformation of our hearts. Jesus doesn't dismiss sin, but calls us to confront it with mercy. Whether you're navigating divorce or the wounds it leaves behind, there is hope, healing, and a place for you in God's redemptive story.
In this sermon from 1 Timothy 1:6–11, Pastor Jeremy explores how the law, when misused, can lead to confusion, pride, and harm—but when rightly used, it leads to Christ. Paul calls the church to hold fast to sound doctrine, not as an end in itself, but as a means of guarding the gospel and pointing sinners to grace.1 Timothy 1:6-11

Easter is a big deal because it's all about Jesus—who He is, what He claimed, and what He accomplished through His life, death, and resurrection. If Jesus really rose from the dead, then His promises are true, sin is forgiven, death is defeated, and the hope of restoration and justice is real.Sermon Preached by Chris Lewis on April 20, 2025Foothill Church exists to glorify God by living as disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus. https://foothill.churchLearn about our For the Sake of His Name 2-Year Discipleship Journey:https://foothill.church/FTSOHN

Examining Mark 1:1 with a brief word study on "beginning" and an examination of what it means to be a son of God
#27 The Allegory Story (What Has Eclipsed The Gospel of Jesus?)
God's law is good—but only when used as He intended. Dr. John unpacks 1 Timothy 1:8-11, examining how false teachers misused the law and how Paul instructs Timothy to uphold the truth. Rather than a means of salvation, the law reveals sin and points us to Christ, showing our need for His grace. Understanding this distinction is key to living out the gospel.Upholding the Truth: Upholding the Truth is a 15-message series focused on the study of 1 Timothy. Do you remember the words of Jesus to Pilate? “Everyone who is on the side of truth, listens to my voice.” The question might arise in our day, “is there such a thing as truth?” There is, and it never changes. It is found in the Word of God. Discover or rediscover this truth for the church, and your role in proclaiming the unchanging truth of God, in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.

The book of Revelation is by far the most violent book of the New Testament. The blood-soaked narrative calls for the death and destruction of non-believers and even of many Christians. Some Christians over the reveled in the horrific torments and the rivers of blood described in the book; but what would the historical Jesus have thought of it? Would the Savior who instructed his followers to love their neighbors, to give up all their worldly possessions for those in need, and to care deeply for strangers and outcasts? have been on board with the wholesale slaughter of those who don't fit the mold? Let's find out!
In this episode we set a path for where we are going as a podcast and as a body. In order to know Jesus as first love, an understanding of the gospel is essential.
