Welcome to Episode 33, EdCamp Whitfield! Pay no attention to the name being Episode 34 in the intro... This is number 33. It really was a treat to attend EdCamp Whitfield on Saturday, 10/21/17. Every EdCamp I've been to has been a magical experience and EdCamp Whitfield was no different. Pam Pettyjohn, Ge-Anne Bolhuis and crew put on a great party. That's what an EdCamp really is... an educational party! During this round of EdCamp I (Lee) brought my equipment with me so I did a podcasting session. I was able to have some great conversations with Teri Pendley from Floyd County Schools and then we took some questions from the audience. One of the members of the audience was none other than my AP Government teacher from High School, Mr. Brad Hayes! Mr. Hayes is now the Assistant Principal of the Whitfield County College and Career Academy! He recounted some tales from the past and gave some insights as to what is happening in the present. You are also treated to insights from other Whitfield County College and Career Academy teachers. The podcast closes with a sit down with organizers Pam Pettyjohn (@wcstechdivas), Ge-Anne Bolhuis (@gabolhuis), and the Principal of Valley Point Middle School, Mr. Barnette. If you want to follow the backchannel of the day, check out @EdCampWhitfield and #edcampwhitfield. Good times with good folks!

Welcome to EdTech Rewind Episode 28, The John Rhodarmer Episode. John Rhodarmer has an impressive story to tell and he lays it all out here in this Rewindisode. Remember, sometimes it is EdTech, sometimes it is Rewind, and sometimes it is a little bit of both. Rewindisodes offer an opportunity to go more in depth with leaders in the world of education. There is some EdTech sprinkled in but the idea is to offer information on how people got to where they are in the field. In this episode Lee sits down with the first year Principal of Armuchee High School, the one and only John Rhodarmer. John has seen and done a great deal in his years in education. He has a passion for making people better at what it is they do and he offers insight into what makes an effective leader. We hope you enjoy and please feel free to hit us up on the twitter @edtechrewind, @itsleegreen, or @clintwinter to connect. We'd love to talk to you, too.

So last week during the #FloydPLN Twitter chat there was a stranger in the midst. This stranger, Mr. Ryan McLane (@McLane_Ryan on the Twitter) was saying some pretty amazing stuff. During the course of the Twitter chat, Craig Ellison recommended that Ryan and I connect for an in depth conversation on EdTech Rewind! We have since learned that Ryan is the author of Your School Rocks... So Tell People (Dave Burgess Publishing), which you can find on Amazon at http://amzn.to/2eGETRT. Ryan is also the Principal of Big Walnut Intermediate outside of Columbus, Ohio. A big thanks also goes to Dr. Suzie Henderson, Assistant Principal of Pepperell Elementary School, for reaching out to Ryan and bringing him to the table. Enjoy the conversation with newest Friend of the Show, Ryan McLane.
