Kerri Glenn: Owner, Pando Social Media "I would say this has been something that has been building my entire life. Like I can really look back, at every stage and how it's pointed me in this direction without me ever even realizing it. Which is kind of cool, I guess, you know, ever since I was little, I always wanted my own business; which I don't know if most little five-year-olds say that Thankfully I had super supportive parents and they really cultivated that when we were little. They weren't allowance type of parents. They were like, "Okay, what do you want to do to earn your money?". And so, weird as it sounds, my siblings and I actually bought a small herd of goats. It's so weird. Everyone's always like, "You what?". And so, we milked our goats and we sold the goats milk to various families that we knew and kind of a little co-op fashion and we made really good money from it.

Elaine Rau: Founder, LadyBoss Blogger “I feel like women when everything's crumbling around you ...you take it upon yourself to feel better, to be better, to be the support that everyone around your needs. I moved down to Honduras because my husband's brother was murdered. I was not only trying to be there for him but also trying to figure out my new life and how do I cope with this new language, this new culture, and I don't have a car and I don't have any friends and all this stuff. I've always been raised as strong ... my mom has always been a huge role model for me and she's the hardest worker I knew, and so I always knew that to get out of situations you’ve just got to work hard. And you’ve got to work harder. If the situation is hard you’ve just got to work harder. It originally started because I needed ... needed, not wanted ... I needed to connect with women who knew what they were doing because I didn't. I needed to create a platform in order to do It's always been Lady Boss Blogger because I wanted it to be about lady bosses. I wanted to become a blogger and I wanted to be a lady boss, and I wanted to interview those bosses. For 355 days, I didn't neglect to post at least one post on my blog every single day. I think I am in the collaborative mindset versus competitive mindset. It's never ... the platform works for me as a collaborative platform. I love complimenting people, I love promoting other people. That's just who I am. This platform is just bigger, where I can talk about all these other cool people to a bigger audience.

Irene Gillespie: Owner, Irene's Catering Kitchen "I learned in the kitchen with my mom and my grandmother. I'm a mixed woman, so I learned the Spanish side of cooking. I learned the black side of cooking and then I was involved heavily in my church. On Saturdays they would sell dinner, so I would participate and learn what I could and deliver. I've always had a passion for cooking. I didn't work in a restaurant. I literally did things for family members, friends, you know things like that. After hearing I should do something, I should start a business so many times, I started saying, well maybe I should.
