The government says he was interfering in immigration enforcement; he says he was warning constituents about their rights. “We don't have any weapons; we were only recording what they're doing," Hyunh told The 21st Show. "And if what they're doing is actually legal, then they should not be afraid for it to be documented.”

In this conversation, trainer and coach Samantha Montpetit-Huynh and Andrea Donsky, a nutritionist, menopause educator, published menopause researcher, and cofounder of wearemorphus.com, discuss perimenopause and menopause, including race, symptoms, stress, GLP‑1s, strength, and how culture shapes experiences in perimenopause and menopause.Highlights:Samantha's experience growing up biracial, coming into her power, and finding her voice in midlife.Women of color experience earlier/more intense symptoms, care gaps, and medical racism.Women who feel unheard can experience increased stress and cortisol levels, which can impact their sleep and lead to weight gain, especially around the belly.Vocabulary that helps us discuss race respectfully and clearly.GLP‑1s are now a part of flashy influencer promos, while it's still unclear what the long‑term health risks are, and why solid lifestyle foundations matter the most.Overtraining in midlife: signs you're doing too much and simple workout modifications to prevent it.The considerable importance of protein + strength, blood sugar management, and how these factors can influence our long-term independence and quality of life.80/20 food approach and ditching guilt because balance beats perfection.Links:Samantha: @samcoretrainerRetreat: Flip Flops & Hot Flashes (Costa Rica) Send us a text ✅ Fill out our surveys: https://bit.ly/4jcVuLh

Alex and Vince Huynh have a bit of a competitive streak. They are constantly seeing how far and how fast they can go. But their drive goes beyond personal goals: they're passionate about welcoming new runners and helping people challenge themselves. They also saw a need for more Asian role models in the sport, which led them to create the Asian Toronto Running Club just over a year ago. Vince, Alex and their dedicated team of volunteers embody leadership and inclusion: everyone is welcome at ATRC, Asian or not. The club hosts a social run on Saturdays and a more focused workout on Wednesdays, offering something for every type of runner. And in just a short time, their impact is already being recognized: ATRC recently received the Community Leaders Award for the Spadina–Fort York region. Today's episode features an interview with Viet Huynh from Hygreen, a company introducing an autonomous, solar-powered robotic lawnmower called Go, designed for residential use. The discussion highlights the mower's advanced features, including an AI camera for precise mapping and obstacle avoidance, ensuring it stays out of designated "no-go" areas like ponds or flower beds. Eric and Viet explore how this technology offers convenience, sustainability, and time-saving benefits for homeowners, suggesting it could allow individuals to focus on other pursuits like gardening or enjoying their ponds. The conversation also touches on the potential for this innovation to redefine the landscape industry, allowing professionals to shift from basic mowing to higher-margin services. The product is set for mass production in October and aims for a February 2026 release, with future plans including an autonomous pool cleaner. Key Takeaways: • Reclaim your time by automating tedious household chores like lawn mowing to focus on activities you enjoy. • Invest in smart home technology to enhance your daily life and free up personal time. • Prioritize higher-value pursuits such as gardening or building ponds, by delegating time-consuming tasks. • Opt for sustainable solutions like electric, mulching mowers to benefit the environment and reduce noise pollution. • Explore new innovations that leverage AI and robotics to improve efficiency and convenience in your home and lifestyle.

"For me, the customer is like my girlfriend. If the customer is happy, I'm happy.” – Nguyen Van NamThis episode was such a blast to record. Not only was it filmed at the stunning House of Merlin, one of my favorite cocktail bars in Saigon, but I also got to sit down with Nguyen Van Nam, a talented young bartender who represents the next wave of Gen Z hospitality professionals in Vietnam. What struck me most about Nam is how honest and self-aware he is. He says he's an introvert—and maybe he is—but you wouldn't know it from how naturally he connects with people. It's a beautiful contradiction: someone who claims to be shy yet thrives in a high-contact, high-energy environment like bartending. That's what this episode is all about: shaking up stereotypes, mixing in some good humor, and serving a double pour of insight. What we talked about in this episode:Why Nam compares happy customers to happy relationshipsThe art and storytelling behind signature cocktails at House of MerlinGen Z in Vietnam: lazy but talented? Why so many young Vietnamese identify as introvertsGender and drinks: is there subtle sexism in how alcohol is served? What older generations think of how Gen Z spends money and worksChapters & Timestamps00:00 – Meet Nam & intro to House of Merlin04:00 – Mixing live: Signature cocktails, saffron, and Huynh's priceless reaction10:00 – Gender & drinks: Are Vietnamese bars subtly sexist?11:30 – Behind the bar: The reality of being a bartender vs. the glamor14:00 – Gen Z in Vietnam: Lazy but talented? In 1975, the Vietnam War ended with the fall of Saigon. Afterward, a large wave of Vietnamese refugees fled the country and arrived in neighboring countries like Cambodia and the Philippines – and the United States as well. Many found community on the coasts like in California or New York, but others created enclaves in the Midwest cities like Chicago. To mark 50 years since the end of the Vietnam War and in honor of Asian American, Native American and Pacific Islander Month, Reset learns more about the history of the Vietnamese community in Chicago. Panel: Vân Huynh, executive director of the Vietnamese Association of Illinois Tam Nguyen, employment counselor at Chinese Mutual Aid Association Ngoan Le, the first executive director, Vietnamese Association of Illinois; former chief of the Illinois Bureau of Refugee and Immigrant Services. The school-to-prison pipeline is a complex and damaging system that disproportionately affects marginalized communities, particularly people of color. This pipeline refers to the policies and practices that push students out of school and into the criminal justice system, creating long-term impacts on individuals and communities. Quan Huynh, Executive Director of Southern California at Defy Ventures, exemplifies the power of second chances. While in prison, he discovered his entrepreneurial spirit and started Jade Janitors after his release from a 22-year prison sentence in 2015. Formerly incarcerated individuals face overwhelming challenges in education, employment, and housing, making fair chance hiring practices essential for their reintegration into society. By giving second chances, companies can help break the cycle of recidivism and create paths to stability and success.
