The Jim Benson Show Are California's 'liberal' Hordes Finally Waking Up? Trump Admin targets tech billionaire in China funding leftist violence in US Primary Fallout, Election Integrity, and Protest Funding: Jim Benson Reviews Clips from Turley, Gardner, and Wheeler The Jim Benson Show: Jim Benson Opens with Conservative Election Commentary In this episode of The Jim Benson Show, host Jim Benson opens with conservative news commentary following the June 2 primary elections. He frames the program around early election results, especially in California, and argues that the state has been damaged by long-term Democratic control, regulation, taxation, wildfire mismanagement, illegal immigration policies, and election practices that he views as dangerous. Benson also discusses his concern that the 2026 midterms could determine whether Republicans maintain enough power to support President Donald Trump's agenda and block Democratic efforts to regain control of Congress. The Jim Benson Show: California, Wildfires, Immigration, and Election Rules Benson spends the first portion of the show criticizing California Governor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and Democratic leadership in the state. He argues that budget cuts, poor fire prevention, burdensome regulations, and social benefits for illegal immigrants have damaged California. He also claims that California's election laws, mail-in ballot policies, voter registration practices, and restrictions on investigating ballot fraud help Democrats maintain power. This opening commentary sets up the first outside clip, which focuses on California primary results and the possibility of Republican gains. Dr. Steve Turley Show: California Primary Results and a Claimed Political Earthquake The first clip Benson plays comes from Dr. Steve Turley's YouTube channel, recorded while Turley was in Brazil. Turley argues that California's June primary results showed a “political earthquake,” pointing to early results involving Republican Steve Hilton in the California governor's race and reality television figure Spencer Pratt in the Los Angeles mayoral contest. Turley says Republican turnout appeared stronger than expected, voter registration trends favored Republicans, and California's political map showed signs of a possible shift. Both Benson and Turley caution, however, that Republican victories in California would still be difficult because of the state's Democratic advantage. Dr. Steve Turley Show: GOP Turnout and Midterm Implications The Turley segment also broadens the California results into a national midterm argument. Turley says Republican turnout was higher than in 2022 and claims that GOP voter registration is improving in multiple states, including traditionally Democratic areas. He argues that if Democrats are forced to spend money defending races in California, they will have fewer resources for battleground states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Benson uses the clip to reinforce his view that California may be showing signs of public backlash against one-party Democratic rule, homelessness, wildfires, fentanyl, cost of living, and urban decline. Stephen Gardner Show: Mail-In Ballots and Trump's Election Executive Order The second clip comes from The Stephen Gardner Show, featuring legal commentator Robert Gouveia of Watching the Watchers. Gardner and Gouveia discuss a court ruling involving President Trump's executive order on election integrity and mail-in ballots. Gouveia explains that the order focuses on two broad areas: federal efforts to help verify voter registration lists and possible U.S. Postal Service procedures for tracking mail-in ballots more securely. He says Democratic organizations and advocacy groups sued to block even the rulemaking process, but a Washington, D.C. judge declined to issue an early injunction because the alleged harms were too speculative. Stephen Gardner Show: Voter Lists, Postal Tracking, and Legal Strategy In the Gardner clip, Gouveia argues that the executive order does not immediately impose illegal requirements, but instead asks agencies to begin considering rulemaking. He describes possible systems such as federal voter-list cross-checking and unique barcode tracking for mail-in ballots, comparing the idea to chain-of-custody protections. Benson introduces the clip as part of his ongoing concern about mail-in ballot fraud and asks whether the ruling, if upheld on appeal, could affect the midterms in time. The segment presents the ruling as a significant early legal win for Trump's election-integrity agenda. The Liz Wheeler Show: Left-Wing Protest Funding and Roy Singham The third clip comes from The Liz Wheeler Show on BlazeTV, focused on claims about left-wing protest funding and billionaire Neville Roy Singham. Wheeler argues that violent demonstrations in the United States are not spontaneous grassroots protests, but are funded and organized through activist networks tied to communist or far-left causes. She discusses Treasury Department administrative subpoenas involving Hasan Piker, Medea Benjamin, and travel to Cuba, presenting the investigation as an initial step toward targeting Singham and the organizations she says he funds. The Liz Wheeler Show: Subpoenas, Cuba, and Activist Networks Wheeler explains the difference between administrative subpoenas and court-enforced subpoenas, saying that an administrative subpoena can eventually gain legal force if a court compels compliance. She argues that the Trump administration is using the Cuba-related inquiry as a strategic way to investigate a broader network of activist groups, including organizations she connects to the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Code Pink, and the People's Forum. Benson includes this clip to support his broader argument that left-wing unrest and protest activity are part of an organized political strategy rather than ordinary civic protest. The Jim Benson Show: Closing and Where to Find the Program Benson closes the episode by saying he hopes listeners found the material interesting and valuable. He directs the audience to the show's pages at bbsradio.com, as well as podcast and video platforms including X, Rumble, and Apple Podcasts. He also encourages listeners to visit the related video section on the show page and says he plans to return in two weeks with another episode. The program as a whole blends Benson's own conservative commentary with extended clips from outside commentators, each used to support his concerns about California politics, election integrity, and left-wing organizing.

Jonathan Turley writes, “From redcoats to robots, our challenges have changed. Yet, we have remained. Our greatest danger is not forgetting the history detailed in this book, but forgetting who we were in that history.” On the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, law professor, legal analyst, and bestselling author Jonathan Turley shares his exploration of how the unique origins of American democracy set it apart from other revolutions, whether it can survive and thrive in the 21st century, and how the unfinished story of the revolution will play out in our rapidly changing world. Like many nations, the United States was born from revolution. At the birth of this country, the Founding Fathers faced the quintessential question of self-governance: How do you keep democracy from devolving into anarchy or despotism? As the nation enters a new era marked by artificial intelligence, robotics, and profound economic shifts, Turley says America is again faced with the pressure of radical forces that seek to curtail natural liberties under the guise of popular reform. In this mix, there are many politicians and pundits who are questioning the very principles of American democracy, and some law professors are even calling for scrapping the Constitution. Turley, author of the new book Rage and the Republic: The Unfinished Story of the American Revolution, draws on everything from history to philosophy to the arts to offer a hopeful account of how the lessons of the past can guide us through today's “crisis of faith” in democracy and see us into the future. "We all love Thomas Paine. We just wish we liked him." — Jonathan TurleyJonathan Turley's new book asks a deceptively simple question: why did the American Revolution become the longest-running successful democracy while the French Revolution devoured itself? The answer, he argues, lies in Madison's "auxiliary precautions" — constitutional safeguards designed not to eliminate rage but to channel it. Turley draws a direct line from Robespierre to today's calls to pack the Supreme Court and abolish the Senate, warning that removing those precautions invites the same mobocracy that sent the Jacobins to the guillotine. But the real provocation comes in the book's second half: with AI and robotics threatening mass unemployment, America may soon face a "kept population" — citizens subsidized by the state who lose their vital relationship to productivity and self-governance. We discuss Thomas Paine (brilliant about humanity, clueless about humans), why rage itself isn't the enemy, and whether the republic built to handle the 18th century can survive the 21st.About the GuestJonathan Turley is the Shapiro Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington University Law School. Newt talks with Jonathan Turley, a prominent legal scholar and author, about his new book, "Rage and the Republic: The Unfinished Story of the American Revolution," Turley, who holds the Shapiro Chair for Public Interest Law at George Washington University Law School, explores the unique origins of American democracy and its potential to endure in the 21st century. His book delves into the American Revolution through the perspective of Thomas Paine, highlighting his transformation from a failed individual to a pivotal figure in the revolution. Turley contrasts the American and French Revolutions, emphasizing the role of rage in sparking revolutions and the importance of channeling that rage into productive outcomes, as seen in the ratification of the U.S. Constitution. Their discussion also touches on contemporary challenges, such as the rise of socialism and the impact of AI and robotics on employment, stressing the need to preserve the values that have historically underpinned American success. Turley expresses optimism about America's ability to navigate these challenges, contrasting it with the European Union's bureaucratic struggles. They conclude with reflections on America's continuous evolution and the enduring opportunities it offers for individual advancement.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jonathan Turley introduces his book Rage and the Republic, which examines how the American Revolution succeeded where the French Revolution failed by prioritizing liberty over direct democracy. Turley argues that the American founders purposefully paired their political framework with the capitalist theories of Adam Smith, believing that individual freedom is impossible without economic independence. He warns that modern "new Jacobins" who advocate for radical constitutional changes and socialist policies risk leading the nation toward a mobocracy and eventual tyranny. The Judge Jeanine Tunnel to Towers Foundation Sunday Morning Show
Join host Joe Concha and renowned legal analyst Jonathan Turley for a high-stakes breakdown of the law, politics, and the future of the American experiment. The duo explores Turley's upcoming book, Rage and the Republic, which examines whether the unique circumstances that birthed the United States can sustain it through the 21st century. They pivot to current headlines, providing a legal analysis of recent use-of-force incidents involving ICE officers and dissecting why high-profile cases against Donald Trump—led by Jack Smith and Fani Willis—ultimately collapsed due to what Turley describes as a combination of "negligence and hubris". Finally, they lighten the mood with a look at the Chicago Bears' Super Bowl chances and the "cardiac" nature of being a fan. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Democrats continue to allege that Trump's operation is illegal and should have required Congressional approval, and Turley breaks down why this might not be the case. Bishop Daniel Turley, O.S.A., is our guest on this special episode of Deacons Pod. Like Pope Leo XIV, he is a Chicago native, a member of the Midwest Augustinians, and served for decades as a missionary in Peru. In this conversation with the Paulist Deacon Affiliates, Bishop Turley shares memories of Pope Leo and speaks about the pope's gift for listening. He also provides insights into the Augustinian charism and what it might mean for the Church in the coming years. Bishop Turley was bishop of the Diocese of Chulucanas in Peru from 2000 to 2020 (and coadjutor bishop from 1996 to 2000). During his time as bishop, he faced death threats after standing in solidarity with people who were endangered by the actions of mining companies. Bishop Turley returned to Chicago in 2020 and, this year, became rector of the National Shrine of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in the city's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

National Divorce, The ‘New Confederates', Trump Invokes INSURRECTION ACT. Victor Davis Hanson, Glenn Beck, Dr. Steve Turley Victor Davis Hanson: Meet the 'New Confederates' in America's Blue Cities Glenn Beck- The HORRIFIC TRUTH about "national divorce" BREAKING! Trump Invokes INSURRECTION ACT as Terrified Dems PANIC!!!- Steve Turley Victor Davis Hanson: Meet the 'New Confederates' in America's Blue Cities Across the country, a new confederacy is rising—built not on states' rights, but on resistance to federal immigration law. As cities like Portland, Los Angeles, and Chicago openly defy federal immigration laws, Victor Davis Hanson argues we're seeing the rise of a “neo-Confederate secessionist ideology” where local officials act as if they're above the law on today's episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.” “Sometimes it's sponsored or encouraged by the Democratic Party: Gavin Newsom in California, our governor, or Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, openly calling for resistance, or Gov. Pritzker of Chicago. “What's really disturbing is we're starting to see a new—I would call it—a neo-Confederate successionist ideology in these cities. In these blue cities, the officials who run them, the mayors or the police chiefs, believe they are a law unto themselves. In other words, within the confines of Chicago or within the confines of Portland, they can nullify all federal laws, just in the way that South Carolina said it could on the eve of the Civil War: The Union does not apply to us. We are morally superior.” Watch this video at- https://youtu.be/G2-_Qn_F49U?si=PUbnHmpsnVjoHUop The Daily Signal 946K subscribers Oct 9, 2025

In this episode of Crosspolitic, we sat down with Dr. Steve Turley, known as the Patriot Professor, to discuss his new book "America Awakened: The Collapse of Globalism and the Return to Faith, Family, and Freedom" and the global rise of faith-based traditionalism. Dr. Turley argues that we're witnessing the collapse of the 300-year liberal secular era and the emergence of a new golden age rooted in nation, culture, custom, tradition, and faith. The conversation explores how this civilizational populism is manifesting through the rediscovery of manhood, the renewal of family structures, and the rise of decentralized networks that bypass legacy media. Dr. Turley shares encouraging data showing men are returning to faith at unprecedented rates and discusses how the current cultural moment presents an opportunity for Christians to build, lead, and transform their communities. Nick Turley is Head of ChatGPT, the fastest-growing product in history, with 700 million weekly active users (10% of the world's population). He was part of the original hackathon team that shipped ChatGPT in just 10 days, helped it grow from zero to billions in revenue, and leads product for what may be the most consequential product of our time. We recorded this the day before GPT-5 launched. We discuss:1. The 10-day sprint from deciding to ship ChatGPT to Sam Altman's tweet (and why it was originally called “Chat with GPT-3.5”)2. How they ran a willingness-to-pay Van Westendorp survey in their Discord to decide on the $20/month price point that everyone copied3. The “Is it maximally accelerated?” philosophy that drives OpenAI's insane shipping velocity4. Why ChatGPT's retention curve “smiles”—users leave, then come back months later using it more5. The accidental decisions that changed history, including not having a waitlist6. The impact ChatGPT will have on SEO and product growth7. The counterintuitive reason why shipping unpolished AI features beats waiting for perfection8. Why ChatGPT intentionally shipped with that “ugly” model-chooser dropdown9.
