While it seems unbelievably foolish that Jesus' followers would not expect Jesus' resurrection, I wonder how many times we have held the same beliefs. We pray over our dreams but never believe they will come to fruition. The desires that God has placed inside of us languish in the graveyard where we keep them locked away from the light of day. God has promised to fulfill our destiny time and time again, yet we never live in expectation. All we can see is reality. The cross we are called to bear is the only vision before our eyes. Walking out of the tomb is not a reality we dare dream of. The power that raised Jesus back to life is the same power that God longs to pour out on us. Resurrection power is available if we stop living in the tomb. The stone has been rolled away. Rays of light flood the entrance. God is calling us to rise up and step out of the tomb into our destiny. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message

The reasons for the giving of the law of God are multifaceted. In Judeo-Christian tradition, the giving of the law, particularly the Ten Commandments, is understood to serve several purposes: 1. Moral Guidance: The law provides a moral framework for human behavior, outlining what is right and wrong according to divine standards. It helps guide individuals and societies toward ethical living and harmonious relationships. 2. Identification of Sin: By delineating specific commandments, the law highlights human shortcomings and sinful tendencies. It reveals areas where individuals fall short of God's standards and need redemption or forgiveness. 3. Legal and Social Order: The law establishes a legal and social order that governs the conduct of individuals within a community. It sets boundaries for acceptable behavior and provides a basis for justice and accountability. 4. Covenant Relationship: In the context of the Abrahamic faiths, Judaism, and Christianity, the giving of the law is often associated with the establishment or renewal of a covenant between God and His people. Obeying the law signifies fidelity and commitment to this covenant relationship. 5. Education and Instruction: The law serves as a means of instruction and education, teaching individuals about God's character, His expectations, and the principles of righteousness. It provides a basis for spiritual growth and understanding. 6. Condemnation and Conviction: The law also functions to convict individuals of their sins and their need for repentance and reconciliation with God. It exposes the reality of human sinfulness and points to the need for redemption through faith and grace. Join us as we discuss why God gave the law and how the law applies to our lives today. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message

Have you received an unexpected gift? A gift that you know you did not deserve or earn. How did this gift make you feel? If you are like me, it probably made you feel uncomfortable and thrilled at the same time. Although I am uncomfortable because I know I do not deserve the gift, I am delighted because I enjoy being surprised. In Matthew 7:11, Jesus says, "If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" We have received the jackpot from God. A gift that can never be surpassed. I know I don't deserve it and can't earn it. God has provided a way for us to be made righteous before Him. This week, we'll explore God's blessing in Jesus Christ on the Biblical Insight With Pastor Joseph podcast. Together, we will unwrap the gift that changed everything. Salvation is the greatest gift that has ever been given or will ever be given. Even though we have tried our best to reject this gift, God continues to extend it to us. Romans 5:8 tells us, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." No matter how sinful we are, God loves us. He rejects sin, but He loves us - sinners. Seeking to show us how much He loves us, God sent His only begotten Son to take our place as a sacrifice for sin. As a result, Jesus received the sentence with our names on it, and we received the gift of eternal life. In our modern culture, salvation is too often overlooked. We seek to emphasize the visible over the invisible—the perishable over the eternal. We focus on this old world and the distractions it can offer instead of God and the new world He has waiting for us. We like to live as beggars when God has royalty awaiting us. Whenever our spirit seeks to translate us into the supernatural, our flesh seeks the ghetto. Like Eve, all we see is momentary advancement instead of living for lifelong achievement. Why should we live as outcasts when God has ordained us as His children? Why give up Heaven and eternity with our Father for the slums? The gift of salvation has been extended. All we have to do is open our hearts and accept it. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message
I've heard it said that how you finish your Christian walk is just as important as how you started it. Everyone who places their faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross begins on the narrow path, but not everyone succeeds. It is too common for individuals to fall off the highway of holiness. In the end, they cannot resist the lure of this life. Little by little the devil leads them away from their first love. Instead of placing God at the center of their lives, they place the idols of this world on the throne. These individuals seek to quiet their restless souls and indulge in distractions that occupy their time and attention. This week's episode, on the Biblical Insight with Pastor Joseph podcast, explores the curves of the Christian walk that often trip up servants of Christ and transform them into servants of the devil. Diluting the Gospel with works is an age-old tale that is still being woven into today's fabric. Refusing to accept the finished work on the cross as sufficient for Salvation wayward souls plunder into the wilderness of sin. This story is not much different from the children of Israel. With selfish preservation and pride, they diluted the law of God after being rescued from Egyptian bondage. The generation that left Egypt gradually drifted away from their first love. Heaven cannot be earned through works. Your best effort is filthy before God. The blood of Jesus is the only thing that can guarantee your eternal security. If you try to work your way to God, you will end up empty-handed and wandering in the desert. Except for Caleb and Joshua, all the children of Israel who left Egypt never reached Canaan. Their works left them empty handed wondering in the wilderness for forty years. Yet, we gloss over this account. It's as if we turn a blind eye to warnings placed in the Bible for our instruction and correction. As a result of this reaction toward God's revealed will, we run the risk of repeating the mistakes of previous generations. Finishing the Christian walk is the most important part of life. Nothing can compare to this accomplishment. Living with God for all eternity is the goal of everyone who sets out on the narrow road, but only a few achieve it. The outcome of your Christian walk will be determined by your engagement with the Bible. You can't navigate your way to Heaven without a roadmap to Heaven. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message
In the book of Matthew Jesus tells us that whoever does not take up their cross and follow Him is not worthy of Him. This is a very blunt statement. Those who do not conform to the shape of the cross cannot be members of God's family. Like Jesus, we must be defined by the cross. The cross proclaims the selfless act of one man, Jesus, who took upon himself the sins of the world so that the world might have peace with God. Self-denial and sacrifice mold us into the shape of the cross. The cross is the only shape we are left with after giving up all the oddly shaped elements of the world. We are left with the basics of living - loving God and loving others. There is no room for ourselves in the cruciformed life. The cross only points vertically toward Heaven and horizontally toward our fellow man. Sacrificially pouring out oneself for someone else is not something to take lightly. Jesus said to count the cost before following Him. As you allow the Holy Spirit to mold your life into the shape of the cross, you will experience pain. It will cause you to see the real you. That part of you that refuses to let go of the things around you. Transformation comes at a cost. For the Holy Spirit's work to be perfected in your life, you must give up everything. Nothing can be left behind - it all must be laid on the altar. Your life will only take the shape of a cross when the Holy Spirit has complete control. God requires total surrender because He knows only a surrendered heart will be receptive to His plan. On this week's Biblical Insight With Pastor Joseph podcast, we discuss the cross as the centerpiece of Christianity. Through the cross, we find our identity in Christ and His finished work. Through the cross, we take courage in our daily struggle against the flesh that rails against the Spirit-led life. The cross is our anchor, identity, and source of hope. Our existence wouldn't be complete without the cross, since we were created for God's glory. Christ's work on the cross allows us to fulfill our God-given destiny - glorifying God through our existence. When God sees us He sees the sacrifice Jesus offered on the cross and this brings glory to Him. To become like Jesus, we must take up our cross deny our flesh, and live a life of obedience to the One who made us to bring Him glory. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message
Our topic for this week's Biblical Insight With Pastor Joseph is The Truth of the Gospel. Why is it essential to be grounded in the truth of the Gospel? False doctrines can easily lead us astray if we are not grounded in the true Gospel. False doctrines can be cloaked in legitimacy. There is a nugget of truth in almost every lie. This is what makes this fallacy so dangerous for Christians. The devil can trick us into believing false doctrine by threading it with truth. If we are not familiar with the Gospel or our Bible, we will fall for the enemy's tricks every time. The belief that baptism leads to Salvation is an example of false doctrine. While baptism is a sacred ordinance of the church, it is not a means of Salvation. Jesus' death on the cross is the only means of Salvation. The sacrifice of Jesus is all we need to be justified before God. To say that baptism is necessary for salvation is to say that Jesus' death was not sufficient to atone for our sins. This is blatant blasphemy. As a result of our belief in the finished work of Jesus on the cross, baptism serves as an outward expression of an inward work. Putting our faith in the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all unrighteousness, we are baptized in a public declaration of our private confession. Salvation is not dependent on baptism, but it can give you a wonderful opportunity to proclaim the transformation God has begun in your life. Often, we pursue careers, hobbies, and families at the expense of our Christian lives. The pursuit of careers, hobbies, and families isn't wrong, but they can become idols if we allow them to hinder our walk with God. Too many Christians are ignorant of true doctrine because they waste their time chasing idols. Let me remind you the things of the world will fade away. The only things that will remain are eternally established by God. Why spend your time entangled with the affairs of this life when you have an eternal life to prepare for? You need to be well-versed in the true doctrine of the Christian faith so you can withstand the onslaught of false doctrines that surround you. Stop spending time pining after worldly distractions instead spend time engaging in God's Word so you can withstand the fiery darts of the enemy. In this final episode of the Christmas Light Series, on the Biblical Insight With Pastor Joseph podcast, we will delve into what it means to be transformed by the light. A Christian's goal is to live illuminated by God's light. We are to shine God's light through our obedience and submission to God's holy plan for our lives. God uses our holy lifestyle to expose the darkness around us. The way we live is a testament to God's saving grace. Our lifestyle is our greatest argument for salvation. Words will fade with time, but the legacy we leave will live forever. We are transformed by the Holy Spirit from a life of foolishness to one dedicated to accomplishing God's will. God will be glorified through every detail of our lives. Kingdom building will be the number one priority that our life is built around. The world will not conform us to its mold when we focus on the things of God. Details of our lives will work together for good when our focus is on God and His purpose for the world. Obstacles that hold us back will fade when our pursuit is holiness. Our entire purpose in life is to bring glory to God. The purpose for which we were created cannot be fulfilled by anything else. God created us for His glory and pleasure. When we offer our lives as living sacrifices to Him He receives glory and is pleased with the work of His hands - us. Through our sacrifice, God expands His Kingdom and shines light into the darkness that cloaks the earth through the devil's deception. God shines through us, speaks through us, and transforms others through us. Through a transformed and obedient life surrendered to God and His purpose, we become the conduit for the light shining from Heaven. Over the last two weeks, we have been looking at the light that Jesus brought into the world on the Biblical Insight With Pastor Joseph podcast. We will explore what it means to live in the light this week. We cannot simply understand that the true light has come or walk in the light. We must live in the light. Christianity is more than an intellectual concept. It is a lifestyle. Long before Christianity was known as "Christianity," it was called the way. It is the way to eternal life. God is the author of the way, and Jesus is the fulfiller of the way. The example he provided is one we should follow. Jesus fulfilled God's plan for salvation - the way to eternal life. We will share in the inheritance Jesus received after God's plan was fulfilled if we live as Jesus lived. Your entire life changes when you decide to follow Jesus. You are no longer living in darkness. You are living in the light of God. There are no scraps of your old lifestyle hanging around because you have replaced the old life with the new life found in God's plan of salvation. You don't go to church on Sunday and party with the devil Monday through Saturday. The new nature of yours is a 24/7 nature. It is too common for Christians to claim the title of Christian but continue to indulge in worldly passions while denying the power of the Christian lifestyle. The desire to become all that God intended slips away as the entanglements of this life capture their attention. Confessing your sins during the conversion experience means you forsake them and never return to this way of living. Don't speak the Gospel if you are not going to live the Gospel. The aim of this episode is to communicate the truth about the Christian lifestyle and dispel any falsehoods. We must embrace the life of Jesus as our life if we are to make Heaven our eternal home. There can be no substitution or watering down of the Gospel-rooted life. Living for Jesus is not a fad that dims with time. It is a lifestyle that lasts eternally. In our first Christmas series episode, on the Biblical Insight With Pastor Joseph podcast, we discussed how true light from God has come to earth through Jesus Christ. It is unfiltered and free of any sinful cloudiness. Darkness vanishes when the true unfiltered light shines in our lives. The blood of Jesus that purchased our redemption on Calvary has defeated what once held us captive. Our second episode will discuss how we are to respond to the true light that Jesus brought into the world. We cannot acknowledge the light without actively engaging with the light. Engagement happens when we walk in the light through the counsel of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us along the narrow path to Heaven through His ministry of counseling, conviction, teaching, and affirmation. His presence is the assurance of our salvation, and he seals our adoption into the family of God. As we allow Him complete control of our lives, he removes the barriers that block the true light of God from entering our minds, hearts, and spirits. Rejecting the light is rejecting the Gospel. We cannot accept the Gospel and refuse to mature in our Christian walk. Progressive sanctification rids us of worldly defilements. As a result of this purification process, we exchange our "old nature" for the "new nature" provided by God through Jesus' death and resurrection. Our ultimate goal is to become like Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to reflect His image. Reflection happens when the reflected mirror is clean and undefiled. Our life is a mirror reflecting the nature of Jesus Christ when we walk in the light as He is in the light. There can be no active sin in our life because giving place to sin would dim the light and cloud the mirror. We must be spotless, blameless, and holy. While we struggle daily with the "old nature," we can overcome it through the power of the Holy Spirit. He is our "Holy GPS" providing directions. Guiding us along the narrow road. Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we will be empowered to reflect the nature of Jesus through the purification of our bodies enabling us to be living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God. True light is a type of light that is completely pure. There are no filters or obstructions. Cloudiness is absent from true light as opposed to false light. Jesus Christ is the source of this light. He came to dispel the darkness and false light that had shrouded the world since that fateful day in the Garden of Eden. In the birth of Christ, God, who loved the world so much that he sent his only son to save it, ushered in a new era. Despite the world's rejection of Jesus, the true light he brought could not be rejected. Through Jesus Christ's birth, life, death, and resurrection, darkness lost its grip on humanity. As part of our new series on the Biblical Insight With Pastor Joseph podcast, we will explore the true light that Jesus brought into this world. Throughout this series, we hope to shine a light on areas of our lives that are hidden in darkness. Disciples of Jesus must not hide any aspects of their lives. Every space in our lives must be lit with true light. Heaven can only be reached by walking in the light. Darkness is not an option. Our lives cannot contain secret compartments if we conform daily to God's character. True light casts out darkness and sin. We will examine Ephesians 4:17-5:20 in this series. This passage of Scripture is the roadmap to Heaven. Every Christian must study and follow these verses. The apostle Paul, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, lays out the path we must walk on if we desire to see God. No man shall see God if he has not taken up his cross and followed the narrow road to eternal life. There is only one way to Heaven, and the way must be thoroughly studied so that we do not become lost. Biblical engagement is the single most important aspect of Christian life, yet it is the area of our walk that we neglect the most. Throughout the next four weeks, we will endeavor to break this cycle. It means living a life that reflects the transformative power of faith, embracing the core tenets of humility, kindness, and selflessness. In doing so, individuals strive to emulate the virtues that the gospel extols, fostering a sense of unity, empathy, and goodwill within our communities. Staying in step with the gospel also implies an ongoing process of spiritual growth and renewal. It involves engaging in regular prayer, study of scripture, and participation in communal worship to deepen one's connection with God. This spiritual discipline serves as a compass, guiding believers through life's challenges and uncertainties while reinforcing their commitment to a life in harmony with the gospel's teachings. Moreover, staying in step with the gospel is a dynamic and intentional choice. It requires a conscious effort to resist the allure of worldly distractions and adhere to a moral compass informed by Christian principles. This might involve making ethical decisions, extending forgiveness, and embodying grace in the face of adversity. It's a commitment to living a life of integrity, guided by the conviction that each action and decision should align with the redemptive narrative of the gospel. In essence, staying in step with the gospel is a profound and transformative journey. It involves an unwavering dedication to living a life shaped by the profound truths and teachings found in the Bible. By doing so, individuals seek not only personal salvation but also contribute to the creation of a community and world where love, justice, and compassion reign supreme. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/support

The valley you're in may be dark, bleak, and dry, but God is calling you to look beyond the visible into the invisible. Despite what the natural tells you, God calls you to believe in the supernatural. Although it may not make sense at the moment, I believe that if you throw off the chains of doubt and disbelief, God will show up and show out. The dreams He placed inside you will be fulfilled. The destiny He spoke over you will happen. The key to victory is believing that God can do anything – nothing is impossible for God. This valley is becoming your valley of blessings. The forces that stood against you are suddenly standing behind you. The mountains are moving, and the walls are coming down. Don't ever give up on the brink of a miracle – do not quit on lap six around the walls because, on the seventh lap, those walls will be no more. What was a curse is now a blessing. Through eyes of faith you can see God is working all things out for your good and His glory. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/support

Have you ever attempted to impress someone? Distressing to think they might be unhappy with you. We are constantly pressured by the world and our culture to conform to its standards, and please people. According to the Bible, this mindset is exactly the opposite of being a servant of Christ. Through the Holy Spirit, we are taught to be transformed. Conforming to worldly standards leaves us untransformed into Christ's image. Our eternal destiny can only be secured if we are Christ's servants. Listen to Pastor Joseph as he teaches that serving Christ is our mission - not pleasing people. Those who live for others will die - those who live for God will live. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message
In this episode, we see Paul's amazement at the apostate waywardness of the Galatian churches. While Christ's followers had begun the race with enthusiasm and joy, they turned to the idols of this world when faced with personal insecurity. In the Evangelical community, apostasy has been growing rapidly. Those who once followed the Gospel have turned to worldly gods. We are exhorted by Pastor Joseph to guard our hearts against this end-time tragedy. The devil is seeking whom he may devour, and the church is falling victim to his attacks. Don't start the race strong only to finish weak. Do not be tainted by worldliness - God has called us to holiness. "How You Finish The Race Is As Important As How You Started The Race" --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message
Join Pastor Joseph in this powerful episode that kicks off an exciting series entitled "Gospel Rooted Living." This series is based on the Preaching Series book Galatians: Gospel Rooted Living by Todd Wilson. In this episode, Pastor Joseph teaches the first fundamental truth of Gospel Rooted Living - Go Back To Grace. Grace is the key to living according to God's plan. We are hopelessly lost in our sins without grace. Whenever we have blown it, strayed from God's will, and are on the verge of shipwreck, we go back to grace. There is no other way to receive justification. Salvation begins with grace and ends with grace. The unmerited favor of God enables us to enter into His presence. Only a Christian life rooted in His Gospel is acceptable to God, and grace is the beginning of the journey. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message
Have you ever been faced with a closed door? You're doing the right thing, but the door unexpectedly closes. In this episode, Pastor Joseph shows us how closed doors can be a blessing in disguise. Whenever a door closes, God redirects our steps to an open door of divine favor. Standing at a close door is never easy, but the lesson God wants to teach us is priceless. The closed door is not meant to defeat you, it is meant to promote you. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/biblical-insight/message
