From a ghost who returned a missing child only to reveal he'd been dead for years, to a bride whose body was found hidden in a chest fifty years after she vanished, these true Christmas hauntings prove the holidays have a dark side.IN THIS EPISODE: I'll share a few ghost stories that all center around the Christmas season. (True Tales of Christmas Ghosts) *** We'll look at a haunting in Rhode Island, where people claim to see a mysterious light every year at Christmas – and many believe it to be a ghost ship with a dark history. (The Christmas Light of Block Island) *** Even without ghosts, you can still have some terrible things take place at Christmas time – more than you might realize. You'll never hear the word “Christmas” the same way again after hearing some of what happened in history during the Christmas season! (Horrible Happenings at the Holidays) *** What is for many their favorite paranormal Christmas movie of all time was, in fact, a bust at the box office. It wasn't about a ghost though – it was about a desperate man, and an angel without any wings. UNDER THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS - OUT NOW: https://wawdpod.com/lights-spotifyhttps://wawdpod.com/lights-apple-----Episode 217 is here. I start this one the only responsible way. By unboxing a Sheetz package and trying on six or seven different Sheetz shirts like I am getting paid in MTO coupons. I asked for “one of each,” and Sheetz said, “Bet. Hold my street taco.” So now I own enough shirts to dress an entire grand opening line in Camp Hill.We also need to talk about the Camp Hill Sheetz grand opening chaos. Fifty to a hundred people outside. Cars wrapped around the block. Ribbon cut. Holiday vibes. My next ask is simple. Put me on the schedule as the DJ for these openings. One day. One location. I bring the energy. I bring the bits. I wear an unreasonable amount of Sheetz merch and act like a functioning adult. Then we hit the news spiral. TGI Fridays went viral because a server walked a toddler around the restaurant, and corporate rewarded her with a $500 check after flying people out to do a filmed presentation. So of course the internet did the real bonus and a GoFundMe started cooking. After that, I pitch the only gift idea men want. A Godzilla costume and a cardboard city to destroy. Also, if you want the ultimate holiday hack, give your boss a Christmas card. You want to keep your job, go write “thanks for paying me” on a $3 card and live another day.We finish strong with media and politics chaos. Netflix is still trying to collect podcasts like Infinity Stones. Melania has a movie trailer and a production company, because why not. Trump announces big moves, including marijuana rescheduling talk, and then drops the Patriot Games, aka Hunger Games: Home Edition. It's a lot. So yes, I close the episode the same way I opened it. Confused. Laughing. Wearing a Sheetz shirt. Also, stream my Christmas song “Under the Christmas Lights” right now. Put it on repeat. You know what to do.**********Disclaimer: We at the What are We Doing podcast want to make it clear that the views and opinions expressed in this video belong solely to the speakers or authors and do not represent the views and opinions held by YouTube, its partners, or its owners. We must also emphasize that the information contained in this video has been produced with no warranty, expressed or implied, regarding the validity, accuracy, reliability, completeness, legality, or usefulness of what is said or expressed. In this cozy holiday episode of Linux Out Loud, Wendy, Nate, and Bill juggle Christmas chaos, retro joy, and serious tech lessons. Nate shares the excitement of finally getting his Commodore 64 Ultimate under the tree and rebuilding vintage Christmas trains, while Bill tells a powerful story about stepping into a network left behind after a colleague's passing—and why planning password and account access for loved ones matters more than any gadget. From Synology NAS upgrades and “you can never have too much storage” energy, to Fedora gaming projects, Bazite and Nobara, and the realities of traveling as a digital nomad, the crew covers a lot of nerd ground. They also dig into Home Assistant dashboards, smart bulbs and Christmas displays, securing IoT networks, and why Linux printing is still a little spicy even as it improves. Whether you're here for legacy planning, blinking LEDs, or just some winter-flavored banter, this episode wraps it all up with community love and future-topic teases. During this message, Pastor Joe Still lights the “Pink Candle” of Advent representing JOY as we also peer deeply into the lives of those whom GOD chose to be the first to personally meet His Son. Advent invites us to wait with expectation, but it also invites us to rejoice! Few scenes capture this joyful wonder better than the shepherds in Luke 2:8–18. These ordinary, overlooked workers on a hillside become the first to hear heaven's announcement of Christ's birth. Their response reveals what true Advent joy looks like. Luke tells us the shepherds were “living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night”—doing their routine work, in the quiet darkness. Into that darkness bursts the glory of the Lord and the voice of an angel proclaiming “good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” Advent joy begins not with our effort but with God's initiative. Joy breaks in as God reveals Himself, even in the ordinary places of life. The angel's message is specific and personal: “Unto you is born this day… a Savior.” Advent joy is rooted in the reality that God's salvation is not distant or theoretical. It is for you. The shepherds didn't have to climb up to heaven; heaven came to them in the form of a baby, JESUS!

A special episode to get you in the Christmas spirit! We meet Kirk Clear, a force in U.S. Masters Swimming, an Air Force Veteran and a legend in his Florida community for something entirely different: creating a jaw-dropping, music-synchronized Christmas light display that brings joy to thousands each year. Kirk calls himself a "Crazy Christmas Light Illuminator."Kirk approaches the holidays the same way he approaches Masters swimming—with discipline, creativity, and a deep commitment to community. While many of us are winding down in December, Kirk is climbing bucket trucks, wrapping 50-foot palm trees in lights, syncing music, hosting snow machines for kids, and raising money for veteran-focused charities—all while still showing up at swim practice four to five days a week. Kirk is a member of the Swim Melbourne Masters.Recorded on deck at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center during the Fall Classic Short Course Meters Meet, this conversation captures Kirk's energy, humility, and unmistakable love for both swimming and service. In this episode, you'll hear:How Kirk discovered Masters swimming in his early 20s—and why he's still all-in 35+ years laterThe national Masters backstroke record he set by embracing change and opportunityWhy consistency, not excuses, is his approach to training—even after 19 surgeriesThe story behind his legendary Christmas and Fourth of July light shows (and why July is “Christmas season” for him)How giving back—to kids, veterans, and the swimming community—fuels his purposeWhy volunteering is essential to the future of Masters swimmingA reminder that staying young isn't about avoiding wear and tear—it's about doing what you loveKirk Clear is proof that excellence doesn't have to be loud—but it can be brilliantly lit. Christmas is full of lights, but the original Christmas story is really about Light entering darkness. In John 12, Jesus says, “I have come as light into the world,” so that we would not remain in darkness. This week, we explore what that means, how darkness isn't God leaving but us moving away, and how Jesus invites us to abide in His light, face to face, for real life, healing, and hope.⚫CONNECT WITH US:

Week 3: Joy – The Astonished Messenger The holidays are supposed to be about joy, but for many of us, they just become a stressful chase for happiness—the perfect gift, the perfect party, the perfect moment. We spend so much energy pursuing that "peak experience," only to find that happiness is fragile and often leads to disappointment or exhaustion (think of the chaos of a traffic jam on Mount Everest! ). But what if the greatest joy isn't something you chase? Big Idea: Jesus offers joy in the midst of pain. In Week 3 of Lights, Camera, CHRISTmas, we look at the Shepherds, the unlikeliest recipients of the greatest news ever announced. They were terrified when the sky opened up, proving that the announcement of great joy often happens in the middle of chaos and fear, not after it's gone. Join us as we explore the Shepherds' story and learn how to claim the indestructible joy that Jesus provides—a joy rooted in the truth of Romans 8:1 (NLT): "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus." This Christmas, stop chasing the peak and step into the stable. Find the "great joy" that is available to all people, no matter what you're dealing with. Every Christmas we celebrate the coming of” the Light” into the world—candles glow, streets shine, and hearts lift with hope. Yet long before shepherds stood under Bethlehem's dark sky, the promise of that “Light”  was already spoken. Isaiah 9:2 declares, “The people who walk in darkness shall see a great Light—a Light that will shine on all those who live in the land of the shadow of death.”  This ancient prophecy forms one of the clearest bridges between the Old Testament and the Christmas story. Isaiah first spoke these words into a world marked by political fear, military threat, and spiritual confusion. Israel was surrounded by powerful enemies, its future uncertain, and its faith often fragile. Darkness, in every sense, defined their experience. Yet into that bleak reality God promised “Light” —not merely survival, but renewal; not just relief, but redemption. The people walking in despair would not be left there. God Himself would act! Centuries later, Matthew's Gospel explicitly connects this prophecy to the birth and early ministry of Jesus.  Matthew writes that this happened “to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah” (Matthew 4:14–16). In other words, Christmas is not an isolated miracle; it is the long-anticipated fulfillment of God's promise to bring “Light” to a darkened world. Christmas celebrates the moment when that promised “Light” took on flesh. The baby in the manger was not simply a symbol of hope; He was hope embodied. The “Light” Isaiah foretold was not an idea or a political reform, but a Person. Jesus steps into human darkness—sin, fear, suffering, and death—and illuminates a new way forward. His birth declares that darkness does not have the final word. I'm praying that you're making plans now to join us every Sunday in the month of December for our Christmas Teaching Series: CHRISTMAS LIGHTS. I'm also praying that the “Light” of our LORD JESUS will bring brightness and healing into your life this Christmas, and I'm hopeful you'll be inviting folks to join you as we gather every Sunday this month and celebrate the Birth of KING JESUS, the “Light” of the World! Most companies only close around 15 percent of their leads, and every lead you miss in-season is money you won't see again until next year. With only a 3–4 month window, one leak in marketing, sales, or operations can cost you tens of thousands in lost installs. In this video, Jonathon Henderson from Pressure Washing Marketing Pros breaks down the real reason close rates stay low. It's almost never just marketing. It's the entire system: the timing of your lead flow, how you respond to inquiries, your discovery process, your staffing, your inventory, and your job selection. When even one of these breaks, your close rate drops. When two break, the season gets painful. When all three break, the season is gone. You will learn:• How to diagnose if the bottleneck is marketing, sales, or operations • How to fix low-quality leads, slow follow-up, and weak scripts • How to set up backend selling systems that close leads automatically • How to avoid operational chaos so you can say yes to high-ticket installsJonathon has helped dozens of Christmas light installers raise their close rate and double seasonal revenue by fixing these exact bottlenecks.

As the days get shorter, it's something you can do to bring light to the darkness. This week on The Kibbe and Friends Show, we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of what we proudly call the greatest car movie ever made — Tommy Boy. With the release of the new 4K edition and the incredible restoration of an original movie car by director Peter Segal (now appearing at MCACN 2025), we knew it was time to bring this one back in a big way. The guys dig into fresh stories, behind-the-scenes moments, and long-lost trivia before re-running their original Tommy Boy review from Episode 126. From Bernie's legendary news and weather segments to Corndog's next-level Mopar knowledge, this is pure K&F gold. If you love road-trip movies, odd-couple comedy, and classic muscle cars, this episode is required listening. At the same time, the K&F family has kicked off their annual Toys for Tots fundraiser through Patreon, and the momentum is already strong. The goal is to get funds in the hands of Toys for Tots in time to make a real impact this Christmas, helping kids and families who need it most. Listener support continues to amaze us, with members upgrading memberships and stepping up in a big way. If the show has ever made you laugh, helped you escape reality for a bit, or made you love cars even more — this is your chance to give back alongside us and help create real Christmas morning magic for families who truly need it.
