Whether it’s too many questions, not returning a call, or just simply being rude, prospects want to be in control and often times don’t take the presenter serious.Over the past 20 years I have learned that sometimes the only way to get someone to take you serious is to TAKE IT AWAY!When you believe in what you’re selling that you’re willing to take it away from someone – they take notice. Now realize this isn’t a rude or obnoxious. It’s only a decision by you to be in control of the situation and to not let the emotion of them saying yes or no determine your level of professionalism. Understand that when someone hesitates on moving forward in any part of your system it’s because something doesn’t feel right to them. One of the best things you can do is give them permission to say NO early. And then take it away. Everyone can learn how to be a person of credibility.In most cases it begins with becoming aware of certain credibility killers including:- Trying to sell too soon (Most people are so busy selling they don’t have time to let the prospect tell them why they would buy) – Learn to engage in meaningful conversation BEFORE you start selling.- Not staying in alignment with the dominant thought that was originally created. Example: If you contact someone regarding a product, and then when you get together they find out your real intention is to show them a business – it might go wrong…. Whatever you begin with is what you need to flow with initially- Trying to decide what your prospect should or shouldn’t see. Many times inexperienced distributors try to change their message for each and every prospect. Allowing your prospect to see your companies message in its entirety is important since you never know who they know or what’s really going on in their mind.Bottom line, there are several things that people generally do that stops them from building credibility with others. Compounded over time this leads to a life of little or no influence. Chances are it’s a few simple beliefs. Since beliefs drive actions then what we believe really matters.In this episode I talk about 3 big beliefs:1. You Attract You. Let’s face it, someone that is poor at people skills doesn’t attract someone that has great people skills. Someone that is unorganized generally doesn’t attract (or keep) people that are extremely organized. And low performers generally don’t attract high performers.The good news is that high performance leaders generally build high performance teams, and you can learn to become a high-performance leader 2. Add Value before you SELL. Often times I counsel people that are worried about their closing ratio. They don’t seem to be closing sales or adding anyone to their team. What they should be worried about is their Value ratio. Ask yourself this question – “Have I added enough value to this individual to DESERVE their time”?3. It’s ok to hear the word “NO”. Sometimes it’s actually even better to hear NO. Meaning, if someone that you’re thinking you would like on your team doesn’t line up with your values, then a NO is better. Simply put – a NO can save you time and energy. Plus - you’re supposed to get NO’s. Learn to view them as an opportunity to learn and part of the process.Embrace these beliefs and watch you and your team go the next level!Ryan D. They develop on purpose, and the following principles will play a major roll in turning your team into a high performance machine.It begins really with the end in mind. So you want a thriving team of 100 or 1000. Or maybe you need your current team of 20 to step up to the plate. Let’s start out by STOP thinking about the numbers, and start thinking about the ideal values of a high performance team player. And more importantly, what values should your inner circle, your core 5, team members possess?By defining WHO should be in your CORE 5, you really are determining what the rest of your team will look like. On the other hand, by not defining, and living up to that definition yourself, you end up with what most people end up with – a floundering team at best.Next, you should expect to share your vision with at least 5 times the amount of people you’re personally looking to mentor. If you want a Core 5 then expect to spend time with 25 or more to accomplish this, but understand it is whatever it takes until you find the 5 that match with your value system.Lastly, set a solid deadline of 90 days or less to begin building your Core 5. Understand that you may have a team of 20-50 or more before you’ve even identified who they are. By moving with focused, urgency you will attract other people with the values you currently possess. So keep getting better to attract better.

I mean, what is it really costing you? Now this video is not about mowing your lawn, but you've got to get ahold of this concept and begin to think about areas of your life that are costing you because you're still doing things that you don't like to do. For me, I used to hate mowing my lawn. I did it for several years after I graduated high school. When I became a homeowner and a new husband I mowed my lawn. One time, I had just gotten my lawn mower out of the actual repair shop. It was a little riding mower. I lived on about a third of an acre, maybe a half of an acre, and I'm out mowing this lawn and I'm frustrated with it, I couldn't stand doing it.
