In this special edition episode of Psych Up, our Managing Director Oliver speaks to Doctoral Research Fellow, Rose Boyle. Rose is completing her PhD in Criminology and Sociology at the University of Oslo, where they discuss her research focusing on substance abuse disorder treatment in the Norwegian prison system. During her research Rose has conducted ethnographic fieldwork in high-security prisons interviewing both people in prison, and prison healthcare staff. Rose provides insight into how she looked after herself during this time, the stigma surrounding substance abuse and highlights the changes that should be made to improve the prison management system.

We interviewed Zac last year where he shared his story with us, expressing his identity crisis, steps he took to confront his crisis and strategies that helped him through his journey.
