It's time to uncork the bottle of mythology and folklore to talk about a true English original - Imps!Beginning their lives as horticultural metaphors, the Anglo Saxon 'ympe' appears in all sorts of moralizing, overtly Christian texts, including those written by Alfred the Great - only by the 17th century if you had an imp of your own you could be hanged for the crime.How did this all come about?Well, it's a combination of several factors, including Bronze Age beliefs about Middle Eastern supernatural entities that haunted toilets, bed chambers, and windowsills, the stinking bogs and fens of Ireland and the British Isles, and Medieval explanations for the hierarchies of demons following Lucifer's rebellion against God.We track the imp's evolution from House Spirits made of dough, fed with milk and flour, through to the Witch Hunts of the English Republic, and the 19th century 'Imp Revival' as prompted by Romantic and Gothic literature, fairy stories, and Victorian satire.With a disgraceful number of puns (even more than last month!) and some really weird beliefs, as well as Eleanor reading some Old English, they may be tiny but we've gone in on Imps in a big way. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, the AP article reporting James Comey's second indictment was grotesque propaganda - an opinion piece that leads with accusations of vindictive prosecution by the Trump administration's Justice Department. The piece notes Comey's history feuding with Trump and his role in the Russia investigation but these details are irrelevant to the charge. Comey's explanation for the 8647 seashells is unbelievable—especially for a former FBI director. Also, Iran is overflowing with oil and desperately seeking storage in quarries, old ships, and anywhere possible because President Trump has effectively shut down the Strait of Hormuz—taking it over in response to Iran's actions—preventing them from exporting oil. They continue pumping but have nowhere to store it; shutting down the wells risks destroying or rendering many unworkable.  The U.S. should give Iran two options – unconditional surrender or we finish Iran off. Later, the Democrat Party has a long history of violence and embracing humanity's worst traits. Democrats target Trump because he stands between them and the people, loves America and its founding. Their inflammatory language, labeling Trump as Hitler or a dictator, is designed to incite violence against ICE, police, and the president through mobs funded by billionaires and networks. Americans see through this. Afterward, Bruce Blakeman calls in to discuss his run for Governor of NY against Kathy Hochul. Common-sense Democrats are supporting him because the Democratic Party has shifted to far-left progressive woke policies that are un-American, denigrate the country, and have abandoned traditional American values once shared by figures like Moynihan and Scoop Jackson. Official Washington is seized at the moment with the question of whether efforts to stop what amounts to chemical warfare against the United States have involved violations of the laws of war and, therefore, illegal orders to military personnel. Specifically, congressional committees are investigating the use of lethal force to destroy Venezuelan fast boats fitting the profile of drug traffickers of the Soles cartel's seaborne smuggling operations.  The transparent hope of congressional Democrats and, apparently some Republicans, is to find a pretext for removing Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.  Like the recent video by six Democratic legislators encouraging service personnel to refuse to obey illegal orders, the practical effect will be to render the U.S. armed forces less unified, focused and ready at a time when serious threats to the national security from Communist China, sharia-supremacists and other enemies are metastasizing.
