Weekly podcast for some astrology, good music and life lessons. Hear from freelance creatives and how they navigate. Get reads, stories, and laughs
I took impromptu hiatus but I'm back. I went to Europe for a bit, made my own merch and have been listening to my playlist. I've been allowing myself to just be and letting who I am define my work--- not having my work define me. Just because I may have failed at something, doesn't mean I'm not capable because I still am. I'm allowing myself to learn from attempts and try again this year. When the year started I had a plan for the how the year would go, now I am allowing myself to just figure it out.
Hello Hello, The three-month trial to 2022 has come to an end, but I'm going to subscribe. The first three months were an eye-opener for me and so many things have changed. I've been organizing my playlists and letting go of things that are weighing me down. If you want to share how your first three months have gone, I'd love to hear it— https://anchor.fm/rambling-with-egypt/message
Just some updates on my life in the last couple of months. So much music dropped and Spotify Wrapped definitely read me. I'm super excited for what's coming up next season with this podcast. I learned it's okay to take a break you just can't quit.
Being in like with others and most importantly yourself. There’s a thin line between caring for someone and really loving them for who they are. However when these relationships romantic or platonic don’t work out the way we want we can consider them to be failures. I don’t believe in failed relationships I believe that you’re closer to who you’re supposed to be afterward. Understanding who you are and what you do isn’t defined by all the work that you can do today or even tomorrow. It’s about your commitment to keep going
Our Aries Season guest is Dr. Lanail R. Plummer (Virgo Sun, Virgo Moon, and Sagittarius Rising). She is the CEO and Founder of Onyx Therapy Group located in Washington DC, Maryland, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania. As a fellow Virgo moon, Dr. Plummer used this time to do some introspection and redefine her daily routine. As a double Virgo “I just remind myself of my fullness and what I am to do and what I’m capable of”, she says. She reminds us to reinforce our boundaries, not for others but primarily ourselves because our boundaries are OUR priority. Tune into this episode for more information on alternatives of quality time with others, dating during quarantine, and efficient ways to stay grounded.
Pisces Season has been fun and introspective. I've enjoyed my recent revelations. I think it's funny what I thought I wanted my life to be like after I graduated. I got to where I wanted to be in time. It took me a moment to realize my life didn't go the way I wanted because there was something better for me. Recently, I've been receptive to new ideas, methods, and viewpoints. Everything I wanted began as a thought. I'm happy I finally realized I'm always aligned with places and with the people in my life.
I hope you're enjoying Aquarius Season. There are currently six planets on Aquarius right now. Don't let that psych you out. Oh, I checked off somethings on my to-do list!
This week's episode I wanted to read to you. I find reading to others to be therapeutic. I finished 'Warrior of Light' by Paulo Coelhol last year and wanted to share what I learned. I hope you find what you need from this reading.
Happy New Year Eve! This week's episode is about the Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. If you haven’t heard the song by Jhené Aiko or seen the film with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet check out both of those. The movie’s premise is that Winslet’s character has a procedure to have her relationship with Carey erased from her mind. Find out if I’d get the procedure done and how some of you felt about having a relationship erased. Tune in to hear me break down some of Jhené’s songs because she a way of embodying all of those emotions that are hard to pinpoint. Remember that everything is temporary. Enjoy every moment you have next year!
This week's episode is about learning how to properly invest in me. This year is coming to a close and it's bittersweet given the times. Within this year I've psyched myself out of doing things because I gave the benefit of the doubt. I've believed thoughts that weren't my own. I've been taking time to understand the beauty of being present within the day and myself. Learning how to invest in good things because the goal is to always be a better me. Take some time to invest in yourself with some affirmations and some shadow work questions.
Welcome back welcome back! This week’s episode is about my transition period. My breakaway helped me realign my priorities and give myself undivided attention. In the current state of the world and in our personal lives it can feel like a lot on our shoulders. With the recent retrograde & full moon, various things were put into perspective for me. I learn that changes are inevitable and there’s no use in fighting it. All we can do is learn from every opportunity and challenge. My transition period is teaching me to be patient, still, and most importantly kind to myself. What more can we possibly do for ourselves with the state that the world is in?
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! We've made a year. This is a big accomplishment that I have to celebrate. This last year has been a series of growing pains, that I'm thankful for now. In this episode, I speak about the biggest lessons I learned at 23. Btdubbs I'm stuttering because I'm excited. Thank you for celebrating Season Three with me! For this podcast episode we’re rambling with Ayanna, the helpful resonator is the HBIC of BrainwashxMedia, a digital space from black and brown youth. The Taurus queen with Gemini tendencies is interested in learning how to do everything. She’s a firm believer in saying yes first and think about it later. She says “You’re never going to be super-duper prepared you just have to take the leap and figure it out”. She drops gems on her work ethic, other zodiac signs, and how happiness is your responsibility.
For this podcast episode, I spoke about gray areas in relationships. Venus was recently in retrograde ironically in Gemini. That means that everything that was done in the dark is coming to light. We can't control if someone is honest with us, however, we can be honest about communicating our thoughts and feelings despite how the other person may react. Speaking up for yourself unapologetically has its personal reward. Stop looking for a window to ask that question just be direct and knock on the front door and ask. You owe that to yourself. There's so much happening in the world however, finding a highlight to my day helps me.
For this podcast episode, I spoke to rapper, songwriter, and producer Ivy Sole. This Charlotte born & Philly made artist closed out our Taurus Season. In the middle of what's happening in the world, she's finding her ways to stay sane. We redefined 'I Want You Around' by Snoh Aalegra, elaborated on being an introvert with extrovert tendencies, and spoke on the forthcomingness of the queer community. Be sure to check out 'Distance' by Contour, Orion Sun, and Kinglsey Ibeneche.
This week's episode is about insecure relationships. I recently read an article 'Why Dating As A Millennial Is So Screwed Up' by Andrea Wesley. I received various responses with similar experiences when it comes to dating. The show 'Insecure' by Issa Rae has finally returned after it's hiatus. I saw some of the themes that Andrea presented in their essay present in the show. Join me as I talk about the similarities I found.
This week's episode is about my interactions with people that I haven't dated. It's that gray area of not being friends but you can't say that you dated either. It took some time but almost every interaction had a lesson at the end.
While we work on social distancing here is our first remote episode w/ @Poeism. Poe is a beautiful black beauty from Newark, New Jersey. She is a mental health and spiritual growth advocate. The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours’ album is finally out. Orion Sun’s album ‘Hold Space For Me’ drops tomorrow. Moses Sumney's songs, in general, are just amazing. Astrology Forecast: Pisces season was very introspective but now it’s Aries season. Saturn conjunct mars so now is the time to enforce boundaries. Trust yourself and your decisions throughout this season. BombBlackBusiness: IG: @okthen________ hand poke tattoos based in Brooklyn
This week’s podcast episode is about time management. Learning to divide time amongst yourself, friends, work, creative and networking. Some of those things can overlap of course. I venture into a tangent about Erykah Badu’s perfume, High Fidelity Series & Film, and the art of decompression.
I’ve learned that cultivating friendships are beautiful. You learn a lot about a person when they’re your friend. You learn how to differentiate between friends vs. acquaintances. You learn how to deal with friendship breakups. Being friends before you date someone makes for a better foundation for a romantic relationship later.
Our guest for this Aquarius Season is Myles Loftin, a PG’s County native. He’s a freelance photographer, director, and a student at Parsons School of Design. Learn how to process those ‘end of the world‘ thoughts, not to attach yourself to one idea, and how to be content with being by our own self as a creative. Allowing yourself and your experiences to be your biggest teacher.
In 2020 we are having the right conversations and shaking hands. We are initiating conversations with people we want to know. Just take a moment to breathe and find some common ground. I hope you’re enjoying Aquarius season. Enjoy being whimsical and free. Take a risk this season!

In this episode we are reevaluating what we give our thoughts and energy too. The universe always gives you what you need, not what you want all the time. We can try to make sense of things but sometimes we have to let things be and let them go. The power of our thoughts and our physical words has an effect on what happens in our daily lives. Let's speak only what we want into existence and attract our blessings.
We’re getting back on our bullshit during this Libra Season with @tonytaylur ! One of my fav Libras discussing how to maintain order within ourselves, the idea of first loves and how to properly mind our business ⚖️
Ghosting in the era of social media can take a toll on some folk. It's crazy how someone can just stop responding to you even after all the energy you've exchanged. It happens to the best of us. Here are some ways I've navigated being ghosted, alternatives to ghosting and how to interact with your ghost when they pop up again. Please excuse my stutter.
I recently learned that I suffer from imposter syndrome. I didn't know I had it till a friend said "fuck imposter syndrome to the maxxx". Imposter syndrome is very common some could say because of social media & self doubt. Let's combat the ways to be an imposter so we can be at 100% when 2020 comes around. What does it take to be my friend? Here’s my friend criteria and a few examples. I’m a friend oriented person and wanted to show some appreciation for my friends. So I’ve moved out of parents house twice. These were decisions I made for myself. I lived on campus so once I did that there was no going back home. I value my personal space and all of that comes with a cost. I’ve always wanted to live in New York and I currently live in Brooklyn. I'm still learning how to navigate the “glamorous” New York life. I'm learning the value of money, time management and having the freedom to do any and everything.
