My mom and I attended Ariana Grande's Eternal Sunshine tour in Atlanta and we are recapping our experience!!! I'm a die hard Ariana fan; my mom was along for the ride after my initial concert buddy couldn't come. (F*** YOU AIRLINES!!)As a healing guru and energy healer, my mom was totally moved by the show and its symbolism. Ariana's concert was MASTERFUL in its depiction of the healing journey and its ugly heads. It spoke to both of us on so many levels, me at 28 and my mom at 56. The concert successfully converted my mom to a die hard stan and solidified my love for my ultimate queen and dream guest. WE LOVE YOU ARIANA!!!

We watched "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" with our friend Amber Shaw, and we need to wash the Blue Ruin hair dye out of our hands. Could this be the most romantic movie of all time? To a generation of millennials, the answer just might be yes. This loopy, Möbius strip, timey-wimey love story could only have been constructed by writer Charlie Kaufman and put to screen by visionary director Michel Gondry, and it has forever left a stamp on our impressionable minds. Jim Carrey gives a rare but memorable dramatic performance as the nebbish, lovelorn Joel Barish, and Kate Winslet delivers an Oscar-nominated performance as the prototype Manic Pixie Dream Girl, Clementine Kruczynski. Gondry's analog, sci-fi world brings us back to a pre-social media era in which one could plausibly have an entire relationship erased from their memory, and a mere postcard could seal the deal to your friends and family. Maybe smartphones would have been the death knell for Lacuna Inc., but we're glad to harken back to those naive days in the before times. There are theories about Joel and Clem's future relationship and whether or not they continued to have the erasure procedure done over and over again. Maybe meeting each other for the first time is their happy place. This week, we're returning to a conversation with Charlie Kaufman, recorded in 2020. Kaufman is the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind some of the most inventive films of recent years, including “Adaptation”, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, and “Being John Malkovich”.  He's also directed films including “Synecdoche, New York”.  His work often explores human memory and consciousness, with a style frequently described as surreal.  At the time of this conversation in 2020, Kaufman had just published his debut novel “Antkind”.  On July 13, 2020, Charlie Kaufman discussed the book and his films with Andrew Sean Greer, who won the Pulitzer Prize for his comic novel “Less”. 

Kate Winslet is an actor who achieved global fame playing Rose DeWitt Bukater, opposite Leonard DiCaprio as Jack Dawson, in the 1997 James Cameron epic Titanic. During her career she has won five BAFTAs, two Emmys, five Golden Globes and an Academy Award for her role in the Reader. Kate was born in Reading in 1975 and attended Redroofs School for the Performing Arts in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Her film debut came in 1994 when she played a teenage killer in Peter Jackson's film Heavenly Creatures. The following year she played Marianne Dashwood opposite Emma Thompson's Elinor in Sense and Sensibility, directed by Ang Lee. Kate's performance earned her a BAFTA for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She went on to consolidate her reputation as one of the most versatile actors of her generation by starring in a list of popular and critically acclaimed films including Hideous Kinky, Iris, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Holiday.Last year Kate directed her first film, Goodbye June, starring Helen Mirren, Timothy Spall and Andrea Riseborough.
