The Rinse and Repeat with Carol Eskaros podcast is an absolute gem in the world of Christian podcasts. From the moment I stumbled upon one of Carol's videos on YouTube, I was drawn to her passion for Jesus and her deep knowledge of Scripture. This led me to seek out her podcast, and I can confidently say that it has been a transformative experience.
One of the best aspects of The Rinse and Repeat with Carol Eskaros podcast is Carol's unwavering love for Jesus. It shines through in every episode as she passionately shares her insights and teachings. Her genuine adoration for the Lord is infectious, and it fuels her compelling and impactful messages. It is refreshing to hear someone who not only teaches from a place of knowledge but also from a heart that is truly on fire for Christ.
Another remarkable aspect of this podcast is Carol's ability to delve into Scripture in a way that is relatable and applicable to everyday life. She takes the time to carefully explain each passage she discusses, ensuring that listeners understand both the context and the practical implications. Whether she is teaching about healing or navigating through difficult times, Carol's guidance always comes directly from God's Word. Her clear explanations and encouragement have been incredibly valuable in my own spiritual journey.
As with any podcast, there are always some potential areas for improvement. One aspect that could be addressed in The Rinse and Repeat with Carol Eskaros podcast is the audio quality. There have been episodes where the sound was not as clear as one would hope, which can be slightly distracting at times. However, this minor drawback does not take away from the immense value of the content itself.
In conclusion, The Rinse and Repeat with Carol Eskaros podcast is a must-listen for anyone seeking solid Scriptural teaching paired with heartfelt devotion to Jesus. It has become a regular part of my routine as I find myself eagerly anticipating each new episode. Through this podcast, Carol Eskaros has not only deepened my understanding of God's Word but also ignited a renewed passion for my relationship with Christ. I am immensely grateful for her faithful ministry and the impact it has had on my life.
I have this fascination with the engineering of lighthouses. How for them to withstand hundreds of years of saltwater, sun, waves, and storms of all kinds, lighthouse foundations must go way, WAY down deep into the depths of the sea floor. What's more, the foundation of each lighthouse is often screwed down, not simply poured down, into the depths of the ocean to guarantee that the lighthouse will remain standing amidst even the worst storms.Likewise, God has called believers faith to run deep, that we might be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:58).Today, we look at how the Apostle Paul himself offers us an excellent example from his own life of how to be steadfast and immovable in the face of tremendous suffering. The lessons in this episode are hard, but valuable ones.Turn your Bibles to Acts, Chapter 20, for this week's episode of Rinse and Repeat!(RAR2025EP18)
Even after the resurrection, the disciples experienced a fair amount of confusion. Despite Jesus' predictions that He would be crucified, buried, and on the third day He would rise again, His own men found it very hard to believe that they were actually seeing the truly risen, flesh-and-blood Savior. In the last of a three-part lagniappe series looking at moments of betrayal and questioning among the followers of Jesus, I explore Thomas's well-known interaction with Jesus. In this message, I examine how critically important it is to stay part of the body of believers so that we do not allow isolation to breed spiritual confusion. I also explore the unforgettable words of Jesus in John 20:29b, "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed," words that offer encouragement to each of us who today seek to walk by faith and not by sight.(RAR2025EP17)
Have you ever surprised yourself by doing something so seriously wrong, something you never considered yourself even capable of doing? And worse, have you ever experienced deep shame over that stumble?Peter, of course, endured such a well-known mistake, which Jesus predicted in Luke 22:31-34:31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”33 But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.”34 Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.”In the days that follow, we see not only Peter betraying Jesus, but we also see Jesus faithfully restoring Peter in a famous scene on the beach by the Sea of Tiberias. In studying this, I learned things I NEVER KNEW before about how PERSONAL Jesus' restoration of Peter was and how even the words "Do you love me?" are incredibly powerful and meaningful, to Peter and to each of us!Beloved, join me on this journey and explore how God is not shocked by our stumbles, but He is so loving and faithful to restore us to Himself! The Betrayal of the Follower, today on Rinse and Repeat!(RAR2025EP16)
Has someone betrayed you?Has a spouse turned their back on your marriage?Or has a friend recently lied and just changed, seemingly out of nowhere? Jesus felt the pain of betrayal deeply in the days leading up to the cross. As I explored this subject of betrayal in preparing this lagniappe episode, God showed me so much about myself, how I worship God, and what I understand of Him, even as I explored the simple phrase: Hosanna!God convicted me deeply in preparing this lagniappe, and I pray it ministers to you as much as it did to me as we briefly pause our series on suffering and examine the Betrayal of the Fickle.(RAR2025EP15)
C.S. Lewis, in his book The Problem of Pain, wrote, "Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say 'My tooth is aching' than to say 'My heart is broken.'"Why can it be so hard for us to be open about our pain? Why do we so quickly answer, "I'm fine," even when we really aren't fine?We may not be open about our suffering for many reasons - we don't want to trouble people, we may not want to overshare, we may not even have the energy to explain. But ultimately, we don't fully display our suffering because we don't fully understand how God plans to work through our suffering and weakness. In today's episode, "But Why?" we explore why God allows us to endure seasons of intense tribulation and how He is with us through those seasons.Turn with me to Romans 5:3-5 for this week's episode of Rinse and Repeat!(RAR2025EP14)
When you see you are about to be hit, either by a car, a person, or an object, what is your first reaction?Usually, you tend to brace yourself - clench your muscles, close your eyes, and prepare for the worst! Our tendency is to react in this way not only to physical suffering but also to all kinds of pain. We can tend to fear, clench, and expect the worst because suffering hurts! And yet, Jesus, in Revelation 2:10a, tells the church in Smyrna, "Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer." The church in Smyrna naturally would fear the extreme persecution it faced for Christ's sake. And yet, Jesus would give them specific reasons NOT to fear suffering, which are instructive for all of us today. In today's program, we learn not only why we do not have to live in fear during seasons of suffering but also what to do specifically when we ARE afraid! Turn your Bibles to Revelation Chapter 2, for our second installment in our suffering series, here on Rinse and Repeat.(RAR2024EP13)
"I suggest to you that it is because God loves us that he gives us the gift of suffering. Pain is God's megaphone to rouse a deaf world. You see, we are like blocks of stone out of which the Sculptor carves the forms of men. The blows of his chisel, which hurt us so much are what make us perfect."C.S. Lewis' thoughts on the purpose of suffering are incredibly true, and still, naturally, we want to avoid suffering at all costs, because, well, it hurts!Today on Rinse and Repeat we begin a new series on the topic of suffering, and today's message explores 2 Corinthians 4:16Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. Join me today as we TAKE HEART even in dark hours of suffering, and begin to see God's purpose in pain.(RAR2025EP12)
In our series Strong in the Lord, we have learned all the parts of the armor - the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes with the Gospel of peace, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit.Having learned all the parts of the armor - the question now is - how do we put it ON, and how do we put it to WORK?Today as we conclude our series on the armor of God, we learn the answer to this critical question, and how it changes everything in our spiritual battles!!The conclusion to our series on the armor of God, today on Rinse and Repeat!(RAR2025EP11)
We get news of a loved one's tragic passing. We face chronic illness or relationship strains or job losses. In each situation, we long to actually FEEL God's presence. We long for His help. For a touch of His hand.As I recently meditated on these things, God gave me His Word so clearly in Psalm 139:7-10, this beautiful picture of comfort,7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
In the Roman soldier's armor, the sword was not what we may typically envision as a sword - long with a hilt. Rather, it was a short sword, more like a dagger in a scabbard, designed for close hand-to-hand combat. This is particularly significant when we understand that the Word of God is referred to as the Sword of the Spirit in Ephesians 6:17. In other words, the enemy plans to attack us in ways that are up close and personal, and for those battles, we MUST be armed with powerful Word of God.Hebrews 4:12a tells us that "the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword." In this episode, I share how this powerful tool can be used not only to cut out harmful things from our lives but also to create and add beautiful things that make for our growth! This episode is a continuation of our series on the armor of God, but it is also something of a special edition. I share four specific instances from my own life where the Word of God spoke CLEARLY into situations I was facing and how the Scriptures powerfully changed me and assured me of God's work amidst difficult circumstances! So turn in your Bibles to Ephesians 6:17 for this SPECIAL episode of Rinse and Repeat!(RAR2025EP09)
Discouragement and Deception. Two of the most effective tools of the wicked one.Discouragement is especially effective, because it can arise from within and can take hold of us from any one of a variety of sources. And deception has been the enemy's weapon from the very beginning, in Genesis 3.To combat both discouragement and deception, we require that our minds be protected - that we have the very mind of Christ. And for that, we need today's portion of the armor of God, the helmet of salvation. For protection from discouragement and deception, turn to Ephesians 6:17 for today's installment of Rinse and Repeat!(RAR2025EP08)
"I believe in God, so why am I not seeing Him at work in my life?""I know I am saved, but I really don't FEEL anything!"Have you ever heard those questions? Ever ASK those questions?Surprisingly, not all faith - even all faith in Jesus - is the same. Different types of faith will completely change what your Christian walk looks like, and especially how well prepared you are for the attacks of the enemy. That's why taking up the shield of faith is so critically important. As Ephesians 6:16 tells us, "above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."
I recently received a heartfelt letter from a listener asking about dating advice for her daughter. Having been asked so many similar questions about dating by parents and young people, I thought it was time to share a lagniappe episode on the topic of dating. Our text is 2 Corinthians 6:11-18, and we will explore various aspects of dating, what to look for in a future spouse, and so much more. Please note that I am offering Biblical insight but also my own personal opinions on this topic, drawn from various experiences. So here it is, by popular demand - a lagniappe episode about dating. Little do we tend to know, it lies right at their FEET! Today's portion of the armor, "shodding our feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace," is real power for every believer. This part of the armor takes us over rough terrain and prepares us for every eventuality. This is not just about the Gospel saving us - an ESSENTIAL tenant of our faith - it is about the Gospel keeping us steady, steadfast, immovable, unshaken, no matter what comes! Join me today for a look at the next part of God's great armor, and our great hope! (RAR2025EP05)
Follow your heart... To your own heart be true... You have my whole heart... The heart is the subject of many cliches and much sentimentality. Today on Rinse and Repeat, we learn how the breastplate of righteousness is designed to protect the core of our being, especially the heart! In particular, we learn how God's righteousness (doing things God's way) protects us from sin and cleanses us from sin when we fail to do things God's way! (RAR2025EP04)
"A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." C.H. Spurgeon's quip holds true, especially in our age of social media and sound bites. Truth can seem outdated and old-fashioned, and upholding Biblical standards may seem out of sync with the times. Ephesians 6:14 tells us, "Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness." Truth is not relative or subjective. Truth is a Person - Jesus Christ - and is knowable. Today, we explore the belt of truth and how girding our waist with truth allows us to stand firm at all times and in all seasons. This episode also features my personal and recent testimony and God's faithfulness as El Roi, the God who sees me. (RAR2025EP03)
"The first step on the way to victory is to recognize the enemy" -- Corrie Ten Boom Today, we embark on a new series for a new year, exploring the armor of God as described in Ephesians 6. We will learn how to recognize the enemy's tactics and how to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Most of all, we will learn how to strengthen ourselves in the Lord, that we might STAND in the battle! With so much that we pray to do and to change in 2025, what a great way to be prepared for the battles ahead!
In the first episode of 2025, we complete our series on surrender by understanding what it means to submit to one another in the fear of God (Ephesians 5:21). Looking at various human relationships, like our relationship with authority, parents, and within marriage, we learn God's design for godly submission. Understanding what such submission is and what it isn't is remarkably important to not misrepresenting God's Word and His heart for His people and His design for society and the family. As we begin 2025, join me with a fresh look at some of our most fundamental relationships and how we can best understand them through God's Word. What makes a good man a GREAT good man?On this special Christmas episode, we look at Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, a man called by God to do the impossible. How do you father the very Son of God? How do you provide for Him and His mother? Today, we will explore Matthew 1:18-25, when Joseph hears from the angel about the coming of Jesus, a passage that isn't most commonly taught at Christmastime. I explore Joseph's faith-filled response to the angel's pronouncement and what it means for us this Christmas. God never asks us to surrender anything unless He has something greater in store, either in this life or the one to come. This simple principle of surrender is proven over and over again in Scripture. We see it in Hannah surrendering her son, to see God turn him into a priest before the king and in God giving her sons and daughters. We see it in Jesus, surrendering His life for the salvation of the lives of the whole world. And we will see it in our own lives, as He says, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life." What are we willing to do in our surrender to Christ? Will we sacrifice time? Talents? Money? Relationships? Comfort? Jesus commanded that all who would come after him would need to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him. I don't feel what I once felt in my walk with the Lord." The Christian life is so often NOT about what we feel, but rather about a life of deep, abiding surrender. In this first message in the series, I explore the various stages of our surrender, drawn from the life of Peter and his interactions with Jesus in Luke 5. Sometimes, we can experience a traumatic event that we fear will change the course of our lives forever - moments that will mar us in unforgettable ways. All hope can seem lost - but not so with God. In a moment, God can turn things around. He can restore lives, He can revive hope, He can raise the dead to new life. Today, we see the Jews facing a law that spells their death, and yet, God hands them a supernatural reversal when all hope is lost. Today's episode zeroes in on not one, but TWO women filled with God's remarkable Spirit of wisdom (Ephesians 1:17). As we turn to Esther 7, we will see the wisdom that God gave Esther not to blurt out everything she needed to say, as though she was giving the king "a piece of her mind." Instead, she exercised wisdom in WHAT she said and HOW she said it. Likewise, we look at Abigail in 1 Samuel 25. and how she, too, was "one smart cookie" in what she said and how she said it. You pray and pray and PRAY over something, and nothing seems to happen. You are desperate for a situation to change but matters only worsen the more you plead with God about them. Today on Rinse and Repeat, we see a night when at first, nothing seems to be happening at all. A king, in his chambers, has insomnia and calls for a boring history book to be read to him, that he might fall back to sleep. And yet, though nothing seems to be happening at all, that very history book, on that very night, is the answer to all the prayers of all God's people! Today's message in Esther 6 is about us walking by faith and not by sight when it seems nothing is happening. I have entitled the message "Even When I Don't See It," because even when we can't see it or feel it, we can rest assured, God is working. Does my life belong to Christ? How is my relationship with God's Word? What does it look like to truly be content? In today's episode, I ask a LOT of questions (deeply personal and hopefully meaningful ones), especially exploring Philippians 4:11b, "for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content." All of that, and I get to share the biography of a TRULY remarkable missionary - the one and only Evie "Granny" Brand, who said, "Give me one more mountain for Christ!" today, on Rinse and Repeat! How could one Man be approached so easily by the destitute, sought by the sick, loved by children, and trusted by the marginalized? One word. Gentleness. Jesus said it best of Himself. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-29). He described Himself as gentle, and in Philippians 4:5, today we learn that our gentleness, too, should be known to all men because the Lord is at hand. In today's episode we also explore some of the most famous passages in Phillippians, including verse 6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Such incredibly applicable and RICH passages of Scripture, today on Rinse and Repeat! Have you ever experienced something so painful, and found yourself just so stuck there? A hurt, a trauma, a loss, and you don't see a way forward? For a long time, in reading Paul's words in Philippians 3:13-14, “…forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” I believed God's command to us was simply to forget those painful things, to move onward Christian soldiers! Today on R&R, we learn that Paul speaks these words right after recounting his own past and his credentials. Paul's instruction to us here is not to stay stuck in the past. We should bring past pain and sin to Christ for healing and help, but not “stop our clock” there. Rather, as citizens of heaven, we should move into all that God has for us as we praise Him for every victory and seek Him for healing in every painful situation. How tragic! What a waste! Cut down in his prime! When someone dies unexpectedly, so many difficulties arise. Likewise, when someone falls ill and is not healed, similar questions are sometimes asked: What is happening here? Why is God not healing them? Is something wrong with their faith or their walk with the Lord? Today on R&R, we address many of these difficult questions of faith and come to understand that life and death are matters of God's sovereignty. In this episode, we also look at a critical passage, Philippians 3:7, "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ." Do all things without complaining and disputing. Philippians 2:14 states the prohibition. Complaining, murmuring, arguing within or among ourselves - we simply must NOT do it. And throughout Scripture we see why complaining is so very dangerous, and how it affects not just our relationships, but also our very souls. Today we explore this key verse in Philippians, as well as looking closely how God works in us, so as to work through us. Turn your Bibles to Philippians 2, for today's episode of Rinse and Repeat! Groveling. Running around at the behest of another. These may be the pictures we have in our heads when we think about humility but it really should NOT BE SO. Humility is having FULL dependence on God's mercy, and it has nothing to do with insecurity, or humiliation, as we will see in today's episode. Rather, humility is to have "the mind of Christ" (Philippians 2:5). Turn to Philippians Chapter 2 as we continue our study in Philippians and explore what it means to have the mind of Christ. We will also explore Philippians 2:9-11, the remarkable passage which says, "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Miscommunication will happen. Misunderstandings. Out-and-out conflicts. Everyday situations arise that cause ruptures in our relationships, even among other Christians, and yet, we do not have to stay in that state. God has given us that way to mend those ruptures in order to live in unity with other believers in Jesus. Today, we explore Paul's directive to the church in Philippi to stand fast in one Spirit, a command made possible by God's Spirit and the redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
