"You can take him at his word.""You have my word for it."These idioms teach us that a person's word MATTERS, and tells us so much about who they actually are, about their integrity.John 1:14 tells us that, "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." Jesus Christ is the very Word of God, and reveals to us God's heart, His character, nature, and great love for us!!And even more than that, God's Word came, and dwelt among us, and "of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace..." (John 1:16). The coming of the Word of God means we go from one grace God gave us in the Old Testament to an even greater grace in the New - and THAT is the very heart of the coming of Jesus!!Join me for this special lagniappe edition, looking at why the incarnation matters so very much!(RAR2025EP51)

This week I learned the horrific news that my cousin, Jack Fanous, went home to be with the Lord suddenly and unexpectedly.Jack tirelessly fought for the rights of U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, raising awareness and support for their housing, employment, and mental health needs through his organization, the G.I. Go Fund (gigofund.org). Amazingly, over the past two years, Jack was also on a quest for spiritual discovery, and he read the Scriptures at least three times, cover to cover. He was changed by reading God's Word, which motivated today's lagniappe edition of Rinse and Repeat, "I Want to Live Like Jack."I was studying Psalm 119 as I mourned Jack, and was struck by how much God's Word, celebrated in this psalm, protects us and directs our lives. In fact, the more I meditated on the psalm, the more I knew God was speaking to me about why God's Word is imperative in our lives, and how to live like Jack.Join me for this truly personal, special edition of Rinse and Repeat.(RAR2025EP49)

If God is all-powerful (omnipotent), all-knowing (omniscient), and all-reigning (sovereign), then why should human beings pray? What is the ultimate point of prayer, if God will do His will in the end?Today on Rinse and Repeat, we address these critical questions about prayer, taking a look especially at what prayer does in the lives of believers. In addition to exploring WHY we pray, I also address when, where, and even ways in which we can seek the Lord in prayer. Also, this episode opens up with some truly exciting news for all R&R listeners and supporters!!! So don't miss this special, lagniappe edition.

When you get bad news, maybe you do what I do, and immediately start running through worst-case scenarios - what you will do when this happens, or that happens...But the beautiful thing about our faith in Christ is that we do not have to live with this doomsday mentality. We do not always have to be striving to figure out how to handle life, because God has promised to be our refuge, our fortress, our ever-present help in time of need!In this special episode, I look at an instance in Scripture when all seemed lost for Israel, and what God showed His people to do. I also examine what it means for us when God allows the worst thing to happen - when our loved ones die, when we get incurable diseases, when relationships are irreparably damaged. Does it mean God is not good? That He is not to be trusted?Join me as I explore the question, "Will He Protect Me?" in this lagniappe episode of Rinse and Repeat!(RAR2025EP25rev)

The Bible says that as a man THINKS, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). In other words, we ARE what we THINK. Think anxious thoughts, and become an anxious person. Think hateful thoughts, become a hateful person. Today on Rinse and Repeat, we revisit a message about putting our thoughts on trial. Using Philippians 4:8 as your guide, ask yourself questions like, "this this thought true? Is it honest/honorable?" We will also explore how then to RENEW OUR MIND with whatever things are true, honest, etc. Join me for this special lagniappe edition of Rinse and Repeat!!(RAR2025EP29)
Jesus wants His Bride, the Church, to be known for what she does, not only for what she doesn't do.In other words, Jesus wants Christians to care for the hurting, to see them and to meet their needs personally. In fact, in Matthew 25:35-36, He says, "for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me," saying that when any of these benevolent deeds were done to the least of His brethren, it was done to Christ Himself. When we minister to those in need, we are doing it unto Christ the Lord. Imagine having the opportunity to serve Jesus a meal, or to visit Him in His time of need? We wouldn't hesitate! In this lagniappe edition, I exhort believers to answer the call to serve the way Jesus does - an exhortation I am experiencing ever so personally this week!!(RAR2025EP29)
