Standing at the Edge of a New Year with Giants in Your Path? Discover Seven Biblical Strategies to Conquer Your Greatest Fears in 2026. Few things unsettle a parent’s heart like the uncertainty and challenges a new year can bring. When the calendar flips and giants—finances, relationships, health issues, parenting worries—seem larger than life, how do we stand firm in faith and lead our families with confidence? In this empowering New Year’s episode of Christian Parent/Crazy World, Catherine takes listeners on an honest and hope-filled journey, asking the crucial question: "How do you conquer the giants staring you down in the new year?" Drawing from her own season of transition—relocating her family, homeschooling five kids, navigating empty nesting, and facing financial mountains—Catherine shares seven unshakeable principles for slaying the giants in our lives, straight from Scripture and her own experience. From recounting stories of friends facing enormous trials to sharing her own “embarrassing” moments of doubt and panic, Catherine models vulnerability and practical faith. She reminds parents: Your giant is real, but your God is bigger.

Salt and Light Covenant Church in Tallahassee, FL with Pastor Omar Ellison

In this message, Pastor Omar Ellison concludes a ten-week journey through the "Fear Not" series, offering a deep dive into how believers can resist the spirit of fear. He defines fear as an uneasy feeling or dread of "future evil" that may never happen, noting that anxiety is simply worry about a future that God has already secured. Using the story of Peter walking on water, Pastor Omar illustrates that fear's primary goal is to hijack your focus. When we look at the "boisterous winds" of our circumstances—finances, health, or relationships—we begin to sink. However, when we attend to the Word of God, we align our faith with His power. The teaching emphasizes that we must be proactive in building our faith during the "sunny days" so that we are prepared when the storms of life inevitably come. By setting our affections on things above and "considering Him" (Jesus) who endured the ultimate suffering, our earthly trials begin to lose their power over us. Key Points of the Teaching: -- Fear is a spirit, not just a feeling, and it does not come from God. According to 2 Timothy 1:7, God has given us power, love, and a sound mind instead. -- Anxiety is the fear of the future. We can overcome it by realizing that God has already gone before us and our future in Him is bright. -- Trust is a choice. When fear presents itself, we have the opportunity to either walk with that fear or make a conscious decision to trust in the Lord. -- Fear is after your focus. Just as Peter sank when he looked at the wind, we "sink" when we focus on our problems rather than on Jesus. -- Your "spiritual thermostat" must be set. We are called to set our affections on things above. When the "temperature" of our life drops due to trial, we must kick on our praise to bring our focus back to God. -- Consideration of Christ eliminates excuses. When we compare our trials to the suffering of Jesus, our problems lose their weight, allowing us to let go of bitterness and fear. Scriptures for Further Study: -- Psalms 27:1 -- Psalms 56:3-4 -- 2 Timothy 1:7 -- Matthew 14:27-31 -- Proverbs 4:20 -- Colossians 3:2 -- Hebrews 12:3 ******* Find more information on our website: https://www.saltandlightcovenant.com/

In this profound and hope-filled Advent message, Pastor Karl continues the Christmas series with an honest, Scripture-saturated exploration of the third great gift Jesus brings: joy. Turning to the familiar yet astonishing encounter in Luke 1:26–38, Pastor Karl places us in the world of a young, powerless Mary—living in obscurity, poverty, and spiritual dryness under Roman oppression—when an angel suddenly declares her “highly favored” and announces she will bear the Son of God as a virgin. With pastoral clarity and compassion, Pastor Karl redefines biblical joy not as a forced smile, fleeting happiness, or denial of pain, but as a deep, settled confidence and calm cheerfulness in God—even when circumstances feel devastating. Mary's potentially ruinous situation (public shame, rejection, and lifelong stigma) becomes the backdrop for a joy that is rooted not in perfect conditions but in surrender to a perfect Savior. Joy, he shows, is not situational; it flows from trusting God's greater reality, His unchanging character, and His presence when clarity is absent.Drawing from Mary's radical response—“Let it be to me according to your word”—Pastor Karl tenderly calls every listener to the same doorway of lasting joy: radical surrender. Whether facing disappointment, health struggles, dashed dreams, or seasons of grief, joy grows when we release control, timelines, and the need to understand, and instead say “Yes, Lord” to whatever He has spoken. This is essential listening for anyone longing to move beyond seasonal happiness into the quiet, resilient cheerfulness that only Christ, born in a manger and risen from an empty tomb, can give.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

We explore how the angelic proclamation disrupts our fear, revealing a joy that is not a scarce commodity for the pious, but a generous, cosmic invitation for all humanity. Send me a Text Message!"Do not be afraid." That's the challenge giving to the church at Smyrna, and it was also a pretty common greeting that first Christmas. In Luke 1 – It was the angels greeting first to Zechariah in the temple and then to Mary when the angel brought this message of a baby and a virgin birth. "Don't be afraid." In Joseph's dream in Matthew 1, Joseph was told, “Don't be afraid to take Mary as your wife.” In Luke 2, the shepherds were terrified and the angel said, “Don't be afraid.” In fact, the most common command in the Bible is not "Don't Lie or Steal, Covet or Kill."  It isn't "Love One Another" that might be the most important but not the most common. The most common command in the Bible is Fear NOT!   Lloyd Ogilvie notes that there are 366 fear not verses in the Bible. This episode and the next, we'll talk a bit about fear and I'll hopefully encourage you with the hopeful words, "Don't be afraid!"

In this stirring and deeply encouraging Advent message, Pastor Karl continues the series The King Has Come with a raw and life-giving exploration of the second great gift Jesus brings: peace.Turning to the familiar yet profound scene in Luke 2:8–20, Pastor Karl invites us into the midnight terror of ordinary shepherds—suddenly confronted by the blinding glory of God—and shows how the very first words from heaven that night were not “Merry Christmas,” but “Fear not.” That first Christmas did not begin with sentimental calm; it began with paralyzing, mega-fear. And right there, in the middle of stacked-on-stacked fear, the angel announced good news of great joy: a Savior has been born who is Christ the Lord, the Prince of Peace. With pastoral tenderness and unflinching honesty, Pastor Karl unmasks fear as the mortal enemy of peace—how it magnifies threats, shrinks our view of God, and paints our future in colors darker than God ever intended. Yet the gospel is stronger: peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of a Person. Peace is not something Jesus gives; peace is who Jesus is—and He gives Himself.Through the shepherds' journey from terror to testimony, we're given clear, scriptural paths out of fear and into the unshakable peace of Christ: speaking God's truth over fear's lies, refusing to agree with the spirit of fear, drawing near to Jesus through spiritual disciplines, and taking bold steps of obedience that move us against comfort and toward surrender. This is a word for everyone whose heart has been ruled by anxiety, worst-case scenarios, or the quiet fears that steal joy—especially in this season. A tender yet urgent call to stop trusting the unknown future to our own control and start trusting it to the known God who entered our fear as a baby in a manger.Because the King has come, fear does not get the final word. Peace does. And when the Prince of Peace takes over a life, what spills out is no longer fear—but praise, testimony, and unshakable confidence in the goodness of God.Essential listening for anyone who longs to trade fear for the peace that passes all understanding this Christmas.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Fear NOT! Peace That Transcends Understanding | Philippians 4 So many people today feel overwhelmed or unable to cope — a 2018 UK study found that 74% of adults experienced stress to that level in the previous year. Yet in Philippians 4, Paul shows us a way to live with a peace that “transcends all understanding” and guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. In this message, we look at four biblical practices that help us experience God's peace in everyday life: • Rejoice — choosing gratitude that lifts our perspective and strengthens wellbeing. • Pray — bringing every circumstance to God with honesty and thankfulness. • Think Good Thoughts — fixing our minds on what is true, noble, lovely, and praiseworthy. • Learn Contentment — discovering Paul's secret: “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” (Phil. 4:13) Alongside Scripture, we also consider research showing how gratitude, prayer, and renewing the mind contribute to lower anxiety and improved mental health — echoing the wisdom of Philippians 4. If you're longing for deeper peace, clarity, and steadiness in your daily life, this teaching will help you take practical, faith-filled steps toward it. #FearNot #PeaceThatTranscendsUnderstanding #Philippians4 #ChristianLiving #Faith #LifeVineyardChurch

This week in worship it is the first week of Advent, the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. We read echoes of "Fear Not" throughout the Bible. The Israelites faced an enormous task before them: years of rebuilding homes, replanting fields, and restoring community after years of exile. And yet, amid all that hard work, Isaiah offers them something far greater — a vision of hope. A hope for a brighter future.  A hope of genuine peace, lasting joy, and contentment found only in God. We dig into why, instead of fear, we should live as people of Hope.

I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” — Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)Recorded live here in London, England. In the quiet of the early morning, when worry grows and thoughts intensify, Isaiah 41:10 speaks with power. Across Brazil, Sweden, Egypt and Singapore, people search for “prayer for strength,” “help with anxiety,” “God give me courage,” and “I feel overwhelmed.” God answers clearly: “Do not fear, I am with you… I will strengthen you.” His presence pushes back fear, restores courage and fills the heart with supernatural calm. Today we stand with every person waking with pressure or uncertainty.Context: Fear distracts, drains and destabilises. It rises through financial pressures, emotional strain, health worries and future concerns. Yet God does not tell us to face fear alone. He promises strength, help and support from His righteous right hand.Reflection: Courage from God is not self-created; it comes from His nearness. When Jesus stands with us, fear loses influence and anxiety breaks its grip. The Holy Spirit renews tired minds, stabilises emotions and strengthens those who feel weak. God's hand holds what we cannot.Intercession and Vision: Lord Jesus, pour strength into Brazil, Sweden, Egypt and Singapore. Lift those overwhelmed by fear. Restore peace to anxious minds. Break cycles of worry and emotional pressure. Strengthen families, leaders and young people. Let courage rise in every home, workplace and community.Prayer Points: Pray for fear to break in the presence of God. Pray for strength for those facing difficult decisions. Ask God to calm anxiety and restore inner peace. Pray for courage in stressful seasons. Ask the Spirit to renew emotional strength. Pray for clarity where confusion has taken hold. Ask God to uphold those feeling weak or alone. Pray for peace over families and relationships. Lift those overwhelmed by responsibilities. Thank God that His righteous right hand sustains us.Life Application: Speak Isaiah 41:10 over yourself today. Let the promise “I will strengthen you” become your anchor. Are you in the "messy middle" of a challenge, tempted to give up when things get tough? Join Dr. Roger Patterson as he preaches from Exodus Chapter 14 on the essential nature of having a "Faith That Finishes." Drawing on the story of the Israelites facing Pharaoh's army at the Red Sea, Dr. Patterson explores the crucial difference between the Voice of Fear and the Voice of Faith. Just as the Texas A&M football team mounted an improbable comeback after being down significantly at halftime, you can press ahead and see God's victory. Key Takeaways: Understanding Bondage: We are often tempted to return to "bondage" (old habits/addictions) because of its false comfort, but living free is always better. The Voice of Fear (The Four C's): Learn to recognize the signs of fear in your life—when you are Caught by it, when your prayer is a quick Cry-out, when you Complain, and when you Contrast the past with the present. The Voice of Faith (The Four Declarations): Be encouraged by Moses' command: Fear Not, Stand Firm, Look Up (see the salvation of the Lord), and Be Confident (the enemy is done).   The Voice of the Father: God challenges your thinking, encourages you to use what's in your hand (your identity, income, influence) , and commands you to Go Forward even when you don't see the way.   The Voice of Finishing Faith: The story moves from Thus (what God has done) to Then (the people's response of singing and exalting the Lord). Don't quit on your marriage, children, or mission—keep moving to experience God's ultimate victory.   Scriptures Covered: Exodus 7:1-5 , Exodus 12:35-36 , Exodus 13:18 , Exodus 13:21-22 , Exodus 14:1-17 , and Exodus 14:30-15:2. Preached by Dr. Roger Patterson on November 16, 2025.

Well this is a tough one... not really the most encouraging passage of scripture to meditate on, but there is so much wealth in these verses. We are encouraged to remember that wealth and status and pleasure can pass in an instant and each of us could wake up broke, sick, hurt, humbled and changed by circumstance. In this passage Jeremiah laments over the misery he sees. Chad leads us through this passage and points us to the sure hope of Christ, our Savior, who holds onto us and will never abandon us. Our friend Chris Lizotte sings "Fear Not". Truth vs. Twisting: Isaiah 5, Leviathan, and Courage for the Remnant  |  KIB 502 Kingdom Intelligence Briefing Description “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil…” (Isaiah 5:20, ESV). In Kingdom Intelligence Briefing Episode 502, Dr. Michael and Mary Lou Lake address today's climate of fear, the cultural normalization of darkness (especially around Halloween), and the Leviathan spirit that twists truth and communication. From Isaiah 5's “wild grapes” to Jesus' teaching on the vineyard, we explore how societies—and even churches—descend into madness when they reject God's covenant, and how the remnant can stand firm in humility, prayer, and truth. Key Scriptures (ESV): Isaiah 5:1–7, 20 — Wild grapes & calling evil good 2 Timothy 1:7 — “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” John 15:5 — “I am the vine; you are the branches…” What you'll gain: biblical clarity on fear vs. faith, how to recognize Leviathan's twisting, practical steps for spiritual warfare, and hope that God is extending a “loop of mercy” for preparation and harvest.

It's with great sadness that we mourn for the loss of a spiritual giant, Charlie Kirk-a man who lived his faith boldly. This is not a battle of the flesh but a spiritual battle. Let's be in prayer for Charlie Kirk's family and for the United States. And remember, FEAR NOT-this is a not a battle of flesh and blood...but a spiritual battle. I attached a brief video with my thoughts. But keep two things in mind: First, this is a spiritual battle. Second: This will galvanize the conservative and Christian movement by God in the United States and around the world.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reason-for-truth--2774396/support.

Fear Not, Little Flock: God Is Pleased to Give You a Kingdom Today's Homily reflects on St. Louis Marie de Montfort's unwavering conviction that God . . . . . . had called him to found a congregation to renew the Church, despite repeated failures during his lifetime. His steadfast faith led him to pray ardently, write a rule of life, and even compose a letter to members of a congregation that did not yet exist . . . urging them, as Jesus did, to “fear not, little flock.” God is Pleased to Give His People a Kingdom The central message is that God is pleased to give His people a kingdom, not reluctantly but joyfully, and that this identity as heirs to the kingdom outweighs all weakness, poverty, or insignificance. The Homily challenges us to live in hopeful expectation of God's promises, preparing themselves for the kingdom by living faithfully, using the great trust God has placed in them. Jesus' call to be vigilant is a reminder that those entrusted with much are accountable for much. The Eucharist is presented as the supreme moment when Christ entrusts Himself to His people, sending them forth with the true greatness of His presence to live according to the gift they have received. Hear more within this Meditation Media. Listen to: Fear Not, Little Flock: God Is Pleased to Give You a Kingdom --------------------------------------------------------------- Quote from the Homily Note the expression, it has pleased God, the Father, to give you a kingdom. What a remarkable statement that is, not simply that God has promised something. But that he's delighted to make that promise that in making this promise to you, there is something that pleases his heart. It is not that God begrudgingly gives you something. It is not that God reluctantly agrees to help you. God is pleased. Pleased to give you a kingdom. Note the weight of that statement. God is pleased. It delights God to call you into His kingdom and to open the possibility that the very wealth of heavenly goodness is yours. And he does it, not reluctantly, but joyfully. It pleases him to do this for you. And in quoting the Lord, Father de Montford spoke to his community that did not yet exist. --------------------------------------------------------------- St. Louis de Montfort The statue of Montfort currently resides in the Montfort Spiritual Center Chapel. The video at the top of the post on the QoAH website is a small collection of paintings and statues of St. Louis de Montfort from around the world. --------------------------------------------------------------- Gospel: Luke 12: 32-48 First Reading: Wisdom 18: 6-9 Second Reading: Hebrews 11: 1-2, 8-19
