Jesus Christ was born into this world. The angel visited Mary and told her that she would become the mother of Jesus. It all happened as God said.

Jesus goes into Tyre and Sidon and a Canaanite woman comes to Him asking Him to heal her daughter who was demon-possessed. Jesus was silent. She continues to ask Him to help her daughter. The disciples ask Jesus to send her away. Jesus honors the woman's faith and heals her daughter.
There are five steps we can take if we would like to experience God's Divine Intervention in our lives. These steps are found within our text here in Matthew 14:22-36. Jesus shows up for His disciples and He shows up for those who need to touch the hem of His garment.

Divine appoints are found throughout the Scripture. Herod had two very special people come into his life. He rejected them. He killed John the Baptist and feared Jesus Christ. Pastor and Debbie took a trip to Iceland in July 2024. They saw so many churches scattered throughout the country. Diving deeper they saw a spiritual darkness in Iceland. Over 59% of the people are registered with the National Church, but few people actually attend Church. The Churches around the Country are antiques of the past. Pray for the nation of Iceland, and for the small handful of people trying to share Jesus Christ.

Are you a sign person? I'm talking about supernatural signs, not road signs. Many people say they won't believe unless they see a sign. This describes the scribes and the Pharisees. They ask Jesus for a made-to-order sign. They want him to prove His credentials - show us who you are. Jesus told them that an evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign. Only one sign Jesus says will be seen: the prophet Jonah's sign.
Jesus teaches the scribes and the Pharisees that a tree is known by its fruit. A good tree produces good fruit and a bad tree produces bad fruit. Jesus calls the scribes and Pharisees a brood of vipers and tells them that it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. Watch over your heart - store up good treasure. men shall give an account for every idle word they speak. By your words, you shall be justified and by your words, you shall be condemned.

Jesus heals a man who is demon-possessed, blind, and mute. The people were amazed, but the Pharisees heard about it and said He did it by the power of Beelzebub (prince of demons). Jesus taught them about a divided kingdom and how it could not stand. Jesus asked the Pharisees by whom did their children cast out demons? They didn't answer Him. Jesus concludes by saying, "He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.
Jesus is God's servant. We need to follow the example of Jesus Christ and serve others.
Jesus goes into the Synagogue and sees a man with a withered hand. The Pharisees ask him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?" Jesus responds with a question of His own, "What man is there among you who has one sheep, and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?" Jesus said that man is of more value than a sheep. Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. Jesus healed the man, and the Pharisees left and went out plotting against Him, how they might destroy Him.
Jesus and His disciples walk through a grainfield and the disciples pluck the heads of grain and eat it because they are hungry. The Pharisees see them do this, and accuse Jesus and His disciples of breaking the law - the sabbath. Jesus talks to them about David and the Priest and how they broke the sabbath, and were guiltless. Jesus told the Pharisees that they needed to show mercy instead of being caught up about sacrifices. Finally, Jesus told the Pharisees that He is Lord of the Sabbath.
Jesus says that to some the invitation is hidden, to others it is revealed, an yet,it is an invitation that is open to all. Do you need some rest? Find that rest in Jesus Christ. Come today, and don't put it off.
Jesus rebukes three cities and tells about three cities that would have repented had they seen his mighty works among them. He speaks of a future judgment that will come upon unbelieving and impenitent cities.
Jesus asks a question about His generation and then answers the question. This generation is like children. They are spoiled and don't want to play. They rejected John and Jesus' message. Don't be like this generation. Don't reject the teaching of Jesus Christ.
John the Baptist is in prison and sends word through two of his disciples. He asks Jesus if He were the Messiah or do they look for another. Jesus sends the two disciples back to John to tell him what they had heard and seen - all the miracles that only the Messiah could do. Jesus warns that His servants would suffer violence, and that he who has ears should hear.
Jesus teaches His apostles how people will be rewarded if they receive the various people He sends to them. Jesus speaks of the apostles, the prophets, the righteous, and the little ones. In speaking about the little ones Jesus says that whoever gives a cup of cold water to one of these little ones will by no means lose their reward. Even the smallest acts of kindness towards God's sent ones will not go unnoticed.
Following Jesus Christ is FREE, but it will cost you everything. Jesus didn't come to bring peace on earth, but a sword. His message transforms lives, and at times people (family) will not like it. Following Jesus is hard as it may lead to family splits. Following Jesus means that He must be loved above everyone else. Put Jesus first in your life.
Jesus tells His disciples that they must confess Him before men if they were going to be confessed before His Father in heaven. To refuse to confess Christ publically means that you will not be confessed before the Father in heaven.

Everyone needs to be encouraged to hear God's voice, to know God's ways, and to remain steadfast to the end. We must challenge one another to watch over our hearts, we can allow our hearts to become hard, and we can stray from God, and we can allow our hearts to become evil. Watch out for the deceitfulness of sin and unbelief.
