In this third message of the New Year, Pastor Joe challenged us to: (1) Cherish God's PRESENCE and (2) Treasure God's PERSON. In this Quiet Time Meditation, Pastor Joe zeroed in on the final verses of the Sermon on the Mount and reminded us that: (1) HEARING is not OBEYING, and (2) AMAZEMENT is not CONVERSION. In the end, we saw that: We can only work out our on salvation as God works in us both to want and to do what pleases Him.
This was the next sermon in our regular Sunday series from Genesis. It was a sermon entitled "Covenant Pomises" (from Genesis 8:20-9:17) that called us to wrestle with three big ideas... (1) A Striking CONTRAST, (2) A Repeated COMMAND, (3) A Sobering CORRECTIVE, and (4) A Reminder of the COVENANT.
