A fortnightly podcast dedicated to our love of the craft beer scene
This is not a drill. We are back. I won't labour on about why we took such a long break (we cover that in the episode), but what I will do is get straight into what we did with this episode. We took Triple Hopped back to its roots. A couple of lads, a few tins, and an arbitrary scoring system. You asked. We delivered. Before recording this, we did some canvassing to see what people wanted to hear - a couple of ideas that really stuck out to us were to focus on NZ hops, but with beers everyone could access. So, in good ol' drink-along fashion, this is what we did! In this episode, we reviewed 3 UK-brewed beers based on 3 criteria: 1. Style points: How does it compare to other beers of its style? 2. New Zealand-i-ness: How much of that Southern Hemisphere funk is it packing? 3. Repeatability: Upon finishing the first, are you compelled to slam second? Simple enough, right? If you want to get the beers ahead of the episode to drink-along, here's what we reviewed: Beer 1: @burningskybeer x @wildflowerbeer - From the Farm Beer 2: @twoflintsbrewery - Mr. Fluff Beer 3: @wylam_brewery - In Search of Synergy We can't tell you how much we enjoyed recording this - but what we'll definitely enjoy more is hearing your feedback on the episode, the beers, and our *cough* triumphant return. Drop us a comment and let us know all of the above (and more). See you all very, very soon - love, @thebeardedbeerbloke @craftcangang
In this edition, Charlie (@craftcangang) and Ryan (@thebeardedbeerbloke) roll back the clock and see if they can remember how to do a drinking episode. @finbackbrewery and @thebeakbrewery are two breweries that get a lot of airtime on Triple Hopped - so virtually sharing one of their collabs, as well as a fresh Beak solo effort, seemed like a no-brainer. Have you had either of these? Let us know in the comments! If you really want to do us a solid, leave us a review on apple podcasts, Spotify, or your pod-catcher of choice.

Welcome back to the long-awaited (by us) return of Triple Hopped session series! Don't worry about the title, folks - this isn't the last episode… We're a bit out of practice with the ol' beer puns. In this episode, Charlie (@charlieayling1 / @craftcangang) and Ryan (@thebeardedbeerbloke) kick things off by talking about their favourite beer series. Everyone loves a beer series - nothing fuels the “gotta catch ‘em all” thing like a theme that ties a few brews together. Download this one to hear Ryan and Charlie discuss their European favourites over the years - and leave a comment to let us know whether you agree… or which incredibly obvious ones we've missed! As always, we'd love to hear your feedback - leave us a review on your podcast platform of choice, or slide gracefully into our DMs to let us know the good, the bad, and the ugly.
As you might have seen if you follow him on Insta, Neil @thelowendbeery has been making us all jealous of his recent US East Coast beer tour. What you won't have seen is that on the Saturday he hosted - and recorded for your listening pleasure - a special one-off New York bottleshare at the wonderful @heartofgoldastoria in Queens with special guests Carl (@somethingaboutbeer) and Blake (@house_of_stouts) from @hoptalkshow as well as Jen, Kevin, Ollie and Sonia drinking (and helping rank) the beers in the background. Want to see how @cloudwaterbrew “Sitting Comfortably in your favourite Chair” and the @trackbrewingco BA version of “If I had a Soul” got on against some big hitters from the US? You do? Then you've come to the right place as our lineup is completed by brews from @treehousebrewco “Vanilla Bean Truth” (from last weeks 10th Birthday), @eqbrew BA “Graceland” batch 2, @hiddenspringsaleworks “Black Aggie Banana Fluffernutter”, @trilliumbrewing “Buncha Bananas”, @weldwerksbrewing “Coconut Symposium” and @horusagedales “Aviceda Leuphotes”. Big beers. Big opinions. Big debates….but only one winner. Who will it be? Big thanks to Heart of Gold in Astoria, Queens for having us, if you're ever in the neighbourhood then we can highly recommend you drop by - great bar with an excellent atmosphere and superb range of beer. Go check them out.

Welcome to our first episode of 2021. This time last year we were in Manchester celebrating FFB and we recorded a show drinking OH and Cloudwater birthday beers. We thought we’d revisit the theme and invite our NYC based buddy Carl from @hoptalkshow along to join the party along with @charlieayling1, @beermatter and @thelowendbeery. Since Cloudwater dropped a shedload of The Veil this week we thought it would be great to hear Carl’s stories about visiting Richmond VA. Charlie announces the Triple Hopped session series, the first of which is launching this week. We have our usual features too and, finally, Neil gives us a DOOM tribute after the end credits. @beeryviews is still off the beer but will be back with us next month. Hope you enjoy. Any feedback welcome as always. Please subscribe to the podcast on Spotify/Apple Podcasts, follow us on Instagram @triplehopped If you have any feedback please email us at triplehoppedpodcast@gmail.com. If you enjoy the show then leave us a comment here or maybe a review on Apple Podcasts. Thanks for listening. You can listen to Neil's MF DOOM Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music

As you know, since lockdown began we’ve changed the focus of our shows to interview breweries. We’ve loved doing them but we felt like a change and record a few episodes in our old style. Obviously we couldn’t share 6 beers per episode but what we were able to do was put some decent beers head to head. So we invited @charlieayling1 of @craftcangang fame along with Ryan @thebeardedbeerbloke along for a couple of shows with beers kindly provided by new online retailer @thefuss.club https://thefuss.club/ and recorded them back to back. Listen/Watch for an exclusive offer code. This episode is a Single Hop Showdown - pitching Nelson Sauvin against Simcoe. Verdant Brewing Co Unconventional Tactics against Deya Brewing Saturated in Simcoe. Both 8% DIPAs. As we drink and announce the winner we also have our regular features. Part 2 - with 2 different beers - will be streaming soon. We really hope you enjoy these 2 shows, let us know what you think, if you enjoy them we will record a few more. If you’ve got some feedback for the show, please let us know! Many thanks, as always, for your continued support. You can watch this episode on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DceAMARW-cA
We were delighted to welcome Will aka @microbrewkings from Equilibrium Brewery to this week show. During the course of the show we drank and discussed the story behind the EQ beers sold as part of the great Cloudwater event pack the other week as well as finding out Will’s favourite U.K. collaboration brew, which pint he enjoys when he’s over here, we discuss our favourite EQ beers, we have our standard features and much much more. We loved recording this show. You can watch this and all our lockdown episodes on our YouTube channel. After the Pressure Drop show that we recorded last Thursday we were joined by @grizzlybeers who took us through the Top 10 countdown of his #midyearbeerpremiere. For those of you that aren’t aware of what this is, Grizzly invites the Instagram Craft Beer Community to submit their Top 9 UK brewed beers of the year so far. A lot of people really enjoy these countdowns and 200 people submitted Top 9’s those time around. An overall Top 16 is then compiled which he is currently announcing on IG.
