Ooft! This ended up being a long one. Our first (and certainly not last) foray into the work of Peter Greenaway and arguably his most accessible motion picture and contender for the most literal title in cinema history: THE COOK, THE THIEF, HIS WIFE & HER LOVER. It's got Michael Gambon! It's got Helen Mirren! It's got Cockney up the gills, firing at a pace so fast, you'll be screaming for subtitles (well, Laura did anyway). We've welcomed back Kat from Uncomfortable Brunch on her first solo mission to aid in dismantling and examining this seminal work. Strap yourself in, this is a long but ultimately definitive coverage of one of the most interesting films in the pantheon of our On the BiTTE series!
A couple of weeks ago I shared in our Neon Slack thread what I'd do if I was starting over and I got this feedback:“Ooft joined at the right time. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year from everyone at Motorsport101! To close out 2022, it's another one of our yearly traditions as we sit down with Autosport's Top 50 countdown of their best pound-for-pound drivers in 2022! And as usual, Dre is going in blind as he doesn't know ANYTHING about the list! And to make things even cooler, for Christmas, we brought back Ryan Erik King to join us in Cam's slot to help us run down the list! It was a real fun time and another feature-length special. Will Dre have a heart-attack this time? Will he be mad at the hipster IndyCar driver picks? Or Kevin Magnussen making the Top 50?! All that and more in another Motorsport101! (We'll be back in a week or so's time to breakdown... Formula E's Gen3 debut season. Ooft.)

Ooft! It's taken a little while to recover, but we're finally over the shock of the Eagles heart-breaking defeat to Chile in the Americas Rugby World Cup Playoff. We re-live the horrors of the game in a pretty brief fashion - some things just aren't worth dwelling on are they? - and we round out the show with a discussion of what comes next for the USA men's rugby team in the World Cup's Final Qualification Tournament, which will be held in Dubai this November.Additionally, we have some MLR news, brought to you in association with http://www.shopmlr.com where you can get 10% off any purchase by using our discount code AARUGBY at checkout. Here we discuss Utah Warriors appointing Greg Cooper as their new Head Coach, as well as the recruitment of Santiago Sodini to the Dallas Jackals as new General Manager. Furthermore, the MLR Collegiate Draft is now just 3 weeks away, and we have a little news on that too.Sadly, our American Correspondent Johnny "Mother" Rucker has been M.I.A. since the Eagles loss in Glendale, presumably lost inside a bar somewhere drowning his sorrows. If anyone has seen him please get in touch on our socials - @allamericanrugbypod on Instagram, @aarugbypod on Twitter or by emailing aarugbypod@outlook.comWe also have our facebook group, where we discuss all things American rugby, making it the place to keep up with the show between shows! Well, that was a surprise. Even if it perhaps shouldn't have been. But that's the beauty of the Indy 500 and how these incredible races can play out. Scott Dixon and Alex Palou, two of Chip Ganassi's strongest cars and drivers, the former history making all week. Lead 132 laps. Neither won. Marcus Ericsson snuck in, nailed a hot lap, got the front of the queue, and then survived a final 2 lap sprint to win it all. We discuss a superb 500 here, and the new chapter in the story of Marcus' career. F1 backmarker, he is not. We also talk about some of the guys who lost out. We had Scott Dixon who blew a golden chance at the win with 20 laps left, via speeding in the pitlane. We had Alex Palou get caught out with an emergency stop right as a yellow came out for Callum Illot putting it in the wall. And hell, Jimmie Johnson, the big meal ticket, made the biggest error of the race and smashed the Turn 2 wall. It nearly cost chip the W. Ooft. Speaking of Jimmie, we also talk about the controversy over his winning of the Rookie of the Year award. Despite his DNF, he won it based on practise speed and fan interaction. We talk about how David Malukas felt he might have been hard done by, the journalist who stirred the pot... and well, just how screwy the award actually is. All that and more on a loaded, Indy 500 special edition, of Motorsport101!
On today's show, shit get's a little wild and out of hand. AKA, how we work best! We begin with acknowledging it is Episode 69 (nice) and with the Yeah/Nah Report (9:30). This is where we hit on all things Canterbury Bulldogs, Trent Barrett and the young pups seeking refuge at other clubs. After talks about journo's in bushes, Paul Vaughn being the arbiter for all things moral and ethical, we walk down WWII lane ... yeah, I know. Secondly, we touch (28:19) on all things Team of the Week and FFTO whilst we ramp up to hit the Review of Round El Magic.Magical reviews come (35:50) which results in us talking about the Brisbane Broncos ambush on the Manly Sea Eagles. Is Adam Reynolds becoming the ultimate question mark for NSW Origin? We break down all things in a Penrith Panthers dominant 30 point win over the Melbourne Storm that left a sour taste in Lach's mouth. Then we cover the Murray Taulugi try that stopped the hearts of many NRL fans, in Cowboys/Tigers! Ooft. Finally, we move (1:07:31) onto the Previews for Round 11 and break down a massive Super Saturday that will involve a clash between 2 v 3 and 1 v 4. Should be another great weekend of football!Tune in this week for some of the most outlandish dribble you've heard. Praise be!

So, Lüüd, vun nu an ward allns beter un ganz anners. De Ümweltschutz is in‘ Supermart ankom‘. Veellicht hebbt Ju dat je noch gor ni markt, overs siet Niejohr kann man ni mehr allns in Supermart kööpen, wat vörher ganz sülmsverstännli weer. Plastikbüddels to'n Bispeel. De ganz dünnen, in de man Man Appeln, annered Ooft un Gemüse inpackt. Holtbesteek, dat man no de Fier wechsmitt, kann man wiederhen kööpen. Dor staunt de Laie un de Förster wunnert sick. Un denn je dat Wichtigste: Luftballong-Fastholers, so'n Schieven ut Kunststoff mit'n Plastikstang‘ an, in de man Ballongs inhoken kann, so dat dat utsüht, as wenn se alleent fleegen kunnen – de Dingers gifft dat nu ook ni mehr. Kinnerfeste ward in Tokunft eenafch ni mehr so ween, as noch vöriged Johr. Overs wie geseggt: Erstmol mutt man an de Ümwelt dinken. Man kunn bi'n Nodinken je 'n poor Pralin‘ naschen, de fiefmol in Plastik inwickelt sünd. So harr man dat Plastik, in dat se inwickelt weern, al mol ut'n Verkehr trocken. So mokt man denn eenfach wieder. Un denn bruukt man blots noch de Luft rein un dat Woter klor moken un de Wale retten. Un üm den lütten Rest kümmert sick de Eenzelhannel… In düssen Sinn
Nursery Nursery work is plant work. If you're working or playing w/ plants, you're in the nursery game. Now the genie is off your back and you've begun pushing solar panels into the sky via billions of little green blades. You look around at the iridescent green magic carpet beyond your toes. Seems bare, right. Seems like you need some plants to grow. Make it a little more… bushy. I'll tell you a tale that got me thinking about growing plants and setting up nurseries to do so. I was in the forest one day thinking to myself... “*Dude, it takes a loooonnng time for a forest system to build and produce its own topsoil. It's also taking a looooong time to build that compost in my 440L bays.” “Carbon production in terms of time is slower than the forever spiral of our galactic expanse.” I hear, murmuring faintly at my feet. “WTF!?” I exclaimed with a stiffened stare in the midline of my mind. *BONK* - I wince and grab my knee! “Ooft! What the hell are you doing?” She looked up to me and said; “Here, use these.” - Dropping a small timber on my toes. “If you've only got a bit of compost going and a bunch of twigs, you can make a hugelkultur!” - She exclaimed in her strange raspy accent. Hey!? Hugel Vulture? - I reply. A hugelkultur! You idiot. Just collect a bunch of twigs and off-cuttings from pruned trees. You can even throw in some weeds ya pulled from the front path ya dummy. - She grumbled. “Righto mate, calm down. I hear ya.” “And when you're done, stack that stuff on the floor and drop ya half-arsed compost on top, followed by some of that cardboard ya pulled out the bin ya filthy animal!” - She ordered. “Is it just me or are you getting progressively more angry as this conversation continues.” “Just shut-up and hugelkultur wouldya maaan!” - she blasted with an erratic edge. “Ok. sure. Will do. Aaahh... Can I ask one more question?” “I haven't got all day.” “Should I have something to cover the cardboard? Will that help sweat and break the cardboard down for the worms in the compost?” “Ya grew all this grass didn't yeh?” --------- @mr.betteridge --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/solarpunkpermaculture/message
Ooft what a story we've got for you today… At just age 20, Sophie was diagnosed with a life-threatening and extremely rare brain tumour and was told she may never have children. She is now thriving as a mum and not only that, she also launched a million-dollar accessories empire five years ago. She's with us to share the biggest things she's learnt about life and business. Mel has made friends with her 81-year-old neighbour and wants to campaign to bring back the 'pop in'. While Jules weighs in on the push-pull guilt of motherhood. Advent 2021 Day 9 has us visiting a new brewery from Scottland called Overtone. They have been exporting a lot this last half of this year and really producing some fun, delicious IPAs. Chufft is a blend of two of their other IPAs. OOFT and Chancer were blended together to create a new hybrid. Made with Citra, Incognito, T90 and Mosaic, the resulting is beer is a real tropical hop treat. I expect we'll see more from Overtone on the show in 2022.
This week on The Finger Guns Podcast…Rossko, Miles and the returning Greg and Toby talk the weeks news including the news Nintendo, Sony and Xbox have all condemned the reports coming from Activision Blizzard, but is it a case of all talk, no action? We also get into another bad week for Rockstar Games as they're forced to apologise for the state of the dreadful GTA Trilogy, is it enough? We chat the horrid state of Battlefield 2042's Steam reviews and what EA can do to turn the ship around, if anything at all. Finally we get into some good news with the reveal of WB Games' free-to-play fighter MetaVersus, a Smash-lite with a rather ridiculous cast of fighters. The free-to-play aspect is worrying us, but are we excited to give it a go? We also talk our favourite games of the week such as Greg's first few hours with Disco Elysium, Miles talks The Last Stand Aftermath, Toby gets to grips with Pinchcliffe Grand Prix and Rossko goes on (and on) about the Halo Infinite Multiplayer. My fortnightly journey through the world of funky funky music continues with tunes from Sly & The Family Stone, Bill Withers The Commodores, Prince, Funkadelic, Mr Scruff and more. It’s the usual ride through BPMs and styles. I’ve kept things on a bit more of a raw funk tip than usual and only squeezed in a couple of housier tunes towards the end. As usual I hand over hour 2 to a fellow DJ, and this time around I’m pleased to welcome Wahine, for an expert selection of house, disco and delicious tunes from around the world. Wahine brings gems from Joey Negro, Mighty Mouse, The silver Rider, OOFT! And loads more, so make sure you stick around for it as it’s a treat! And make sure you follow Wahine on SoundCloud (https://soundcloud.com/wahinedj) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/wahine_dj/) for more quality music like this. We're back! The first Finger Guns Podcast of 2020 is now live for your earholes and well, we've decided to start the year off with some fanboy baiting, because why not cause a little chaos in this messed up society eh. First up Sean lays it all on the line by throwing down a battle royale of the ages - just who has the better studios in the run up to the next generation - Sony or Microsoft? Friendships are put on this line before you can even say 'it doesn't matter, man. Games are fun'. We dissect all the games we know about from each studio to see which may come out on top in the run up to this years massive clash of the titans, the Series X and PS5. Ooft, it's exciting. Elsewhere we talk the leaked specifications of the PS5 to see if can stack up to Microsoft's tower that isn't a tower and if developers will flock to either power or popularity. Elsewhere Respawn legend Vince Zampella has joined DICE to oversee a brand new studio and we're very exciting to see what they're going to come up with. We also talk the games we've been playing over the Christmas/New Year period (essentially jumping into backlogs, as is tradition) and Sean refreshes our memory for upcoming releases in a brand new Trivia Challenge. It's a new season of quizzes so everyone's overall scores are back down to zero. Who's going to come out on top? You'll have to listen to find out. Good to be back! May 2014 introduces Jeff Craven to the Tahanan family. Very few people can make a claim to success like Jeff Craven. As DJ and Label Owner, he has left an indelible mark on the world of Dance Music. His format and business model for the great Large Music has been copied many times over, a fact that Jeff wryly considers to be "the highest form of flattery." Jeff Craven began spinning records in the summer of 1988 while a student in St. Louis Missouri. His format then was always eclectic, playing alternative records from bands like Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb with the occasional House record thrown into the mix. Jeff's love of Chicago House eventually took over, however, and he moved to Chicago in 1990. While making the rounds as a DJ in Chicago clubs during the early 90’s, Jeff found that many Chicago House music artists were struggling to have their music heard. Jeff started his own record label, Large, to feature this fresh crop of Chicago talent. With an artist roster including such luminaries as DJ Sneak, Roy Davis Jr., and DJ Rasoul, Large Music soon became the most prominent and influential House music label in the universe. Large Music’s shining rise to commercial success came in the fall of 1998 when Roy Davis Jr.’s hit single “Gabriel” hit the UK Pop Top 20. A slew of hits followed after that from Kerri Chandler, Miguel Migs, and newcomer Dennis Ferrer. Throughout this period, Jeff maintained a street level credibility with Large, releasing classic records that continued to push the underground sensibility of House Music. As a DJ, Jeff has played all over the world including Germany, Canada, France, England and Sweden. He was the opening DJ for jazz legend Herbie Hancock in Stockholm, and has played alongside Blue Note recording artist St. Germain at the Moulin Rouge in Paris. He has also appeared in almost every major club in Chicago including Smart Bar, Red Dog, Zentra, Spy Bar, Big Wig and Lava Lounge. Jeff has appeared on numerous radio programs including London’s infamous Kiss FM, Radio FG in Paris, and Chicago’s very own Q101. His DJ style has been described as “soulful” and “jazzy” with a slight influence of techno. Tracklist 1. Nacho Marco- Middays- Madhouse Promo 2. For our sixth podcast of our series, we have a brand spanking new mix from the mighty OOFT! The main force behind OOFT Music is Ali Herron. Originally cutting his production chops with tracky edits and some early OOFT! remixes alongside The Revenge, Ali has been steadily building up his own studio over the last 5 years, putting out a series of deep, pitched-down house tracks on labels such as Instruments of Rapture, PPF, Delusions of Grandeur, Rememory and Wolf Music.

With only a couple of releases to his name so far, disco-house prodigy Chamboché has quickly been making a name for himself. His Ipso Facto EP released on Jisco offshoot 'Under The Shade' with remixes from The Revenge and Pete Herbert no less, has garnered support from such varied artists as Tim Sweeney, Steve Bug and Mark E as did his second release which had cracking remixes from Toby Tobias and Brontosaurus. With another release about to drop on UTS, expect to hear more from Chamboché as he blurs the lines between house and disco in his sets and productions. Tracklisting is as follows: 1. Deep Space Orchestra – City Streets [Five20East] 2. Tornado Wallace – Swimmin’ [Delusions Of Grandeur] 3. The Revenge – Hotz 4 U [Instruments Of Rapture] 4.
