Our society has made us faster, impatient and indifferent to the joy and sorrow of others. We are quick to judge and slow to empathize. We seek to exclude instead of include. Pride is most commonly revealed through arrogance and being conceited but sometimes it sneaks up on us in other forms like self-degradation. I am certain that we've all had dreams and goals that have been killed or stolen by fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 says that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. Fear works to disempower the Spirit of God in order to derail our purpose. There is one battle that is common to all of humanity. Whether you are a believer in Christ or not, fear is one force that cripples all of us more than we like to admit. Fear not only obstructs our worship to God, its blurs our vision and threatens the core of who we are and can become. Most importantly, it oftentimes replaces God. Y'all the summer has started here at the Yep He Said It Podcast. I am excited to share the good news about what God has been doing and the exciting things happening this summer. We are looking forward to very awesome conversations with some awesome guests and celebrating our first year anniversary since the first episode was posted. 

As I learn about one of the hardest lessons for any Christian―obedience, God reminds me that I am doing much more than He is asking me to do. I will make really big sacrifices to avoid obeying God's voice. This has often left me broken, miserable, heartbroken and in deep sorrow when those castles came crumbling down. As a growing Christian, I have often struggled with identifying and acknowledging God's voice in my life. As life gets crazy and the storms of life get more intense, God's still voice is even harder for a lot of Christians to hear and even when we hear it we brush it off as a mere intrusion to our conscience by our restless minds. In this episode, we explore why Jesus is the only sign we needed and by having a deep relationship with Him we can hear His voice more clearly. 

I always wonder if I am loving other's right and also often ask myself if I am really being loved the right way or I am settling for less than I deserve. What is love anyway? What does it mean to be loved right and to love others right? These are some of the questions Paul answers in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 and this Valentine's Day, those definitions of love should help us rethink our relationships and how we are loving others. 1 John 2:16-17. There are three lusts that John writes about and I have seen these play out in my life. I think pride of life is even deeper than a lot of us can imagine. If you feel stuck or stagnant in your spiritual growth, it might be because of your unnecessary focus on your position in life.

Let's talk about conditions. As a believer I have conditions for everything and it keeps me from doing certain things but even most importantly it keeps me for loving genuinely. We are so used to loving "if' and "because" even though we are called to love "despite of". We just setting conditions because conditions keep us in control even if it distorts our pace of grace. 

In 1 Corinthians 14:33, He says that God is not an author of confusing. I have had a lot of questions which made me frustrated and confused. This year has definitely allowed us to feel a lot of things and honestly helped me realize that confusion either destructs or it builds. I am so glad to be back! Well, September is suicide preventions so how about we have a conversation about depression (one of the leading causes of suicide today) and christianity?
