Once again the Off the Deep End triumvirate (Braden, Chris, Adam) have delved into long forgotten dungeons in order to procure the wisdom of D.W. Bradley from ages long past. Exploring the seventh Wizardry game is no easy task, however, as they have to brave its intricate world, complex character building, and very 1992 sense of difficulty. You'll also learn about Wizardry Gaiden, Wizardry 6, Wizardry 8, games that came out in roughly the same time period as Wizardry 7, and in general the word Wizardry is going to be spoken too many times. We're not sorry. Pastor Ryan starts a new series called "The Deep End"
From disappearing households and mysterious foreign nationals to international crime bosses and a little breaking and entering, "The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge" has all the makings of a classic Holmes tale with none of the panache that sets some of them apart. Sarah and Marisa discuss this bizarre little story, which comes from "His Last Bow." We appreciate your patience with some echo in our audio this week - we did some recording on the go! Find recommended reading, more stories, info about the show and more on our website:https://www.howeverimprobablepodcast.com/Send us mail! howeverimprobablepod@gmail.com
Episode 1: Welcome to the Deep EndIn this kickoff episode, Brock Mammoser shares the raw, unfiltered truth behind why he started The Deep End. After building a multi-million dollar company, Brock opens up about the mental and emotional cost of chasing success — from panic attacks and anxiety to a deeper journey of healing, faith, and self-understanding.This episode is part origin story, part confession, and part rallying cry for anyone who's ever felt stuck, spiraling, or unseen.Whether you're an entrepreneur, a dreamer, or just someone trying to make sense of the chaos in your mind — this is for you.Topics include: • Why Brock started this podcast • What success doesn't fix • Panic attacks, anxiety, and the silent war within • How therapy, faith, and real connection changed everything • The mission behind The Deep End and what to expect next

Scott talks about the joy his grandsons experience now that they can swim in the deep end of the pool. He uses this as a metaphor for learning to enjoy the deeper dimensions of our emotional and spiritual lives.
It's time for the sun to stay up in the sky, which means it's that semi-annual time where Off the Deep End plays some hot garbage for the podcast! Braden and Chris are joined by special guest "Em Palladino," who brings her video game expertise and childhood trauma to bear discussing Lunar Dragon Song, the first* RPG released for the DS and one of the worst things we've played for this podcast. No, really! *in North America and Europe. In Japan, it was beaten by "Naruto RPG 2: Chidori vs Rasengan" by one month. Yes, I looked this up. In this episode of Off the Deep End, we decide to rank multiple video games that the main Deep Listens podcast played, partially out of spite and partially because we needed a podcast for this week. Join Braden "ArbitraryWater" REDACTED, Chris "ZombiePie" REDACTED and Gino Grieco on a fun retrospective journey through almost a decade's worth of podcasts and more than a decade's worth of video games we vaguely remember. How many of them are better than Hybrid Heaven? Remember to join our patreon if you disagree with any of our takes! Welcome to another installment of the famed BBAS SK8-TV Files! This week, Larry and Matt are cannonballing straight into the Deep End of Episode 6- and as you know, this pool hasn't been filled in within two years. Yes, friends- in addition to the usual dissection of skate sequences and awkward interviews from skateboarding luminaries such as Mike McGill, Dave Hackett, Jeff Kendall and Jesse Roach, we blow the lid off on the long-lost truth about the actual number of episodes that exist of this legendary show, upending everything we previously knew to be true. Can the skate world hive mind handle this sort of information? Do you know how to re-drill a board? Is a grapefruit revert a real thing? There's only one way to find out! We had the pleasure of interviewing Fastball over Zoom video!Formed in 1994 in Austin, Texas, Fastball combined a fondness for melodic, Beatles-inspired pop with the alternative aesthetic of late-'90s mainstream rock. Guitarist/vocalist Miles Zuniga, bassist/vocalist Tony Scalzo, and drummer Joey Shuffield — all veterans of Austin's underground rock scene — originally banded together under the name Magneto U.S.A. After signing with Hollywood Records, the musicians changed their name to Fastball and released their debut album, Make Your Mama Proud, in 1996. The album demonstrated the band's synthesis of modern flavor and bygone pop hooks, a combination that would later launch Fastball into the mainstream. The follow-up effort, All the Pain Money Can Buy, appeared in early 1998, featuring a considerably tighter band and more pop flourishes. Although the bandmates were still working side jobs at the time of its release, lead-off single "The Way" proved to be a meteoric hit, topping the American rock charts for seven weeks while enjoying crossover success as a pop single. "Fire Escape" and the piano-fueled "Out of My Head" did similarly well, and All the Pain Money Can Buy went platinum within six months of its release, earning two Grammy nominations along the way. Fastball celebrated their success with a considerable amount of touring, including shows alongside Marcy Playground and Everclear. The Harsh Light of Day arrived in fall 2000, featuring piano work by Billy Preston and an increasingly arty sound, including the Top 40 hit "You're an Ocean.” Fastball eventually left the Hollywood roster in favor of a new deal with Rykodisc. A retrospective compilation, Painting the Corners: The Best of Fastball, marked the band's final release for Hollywood Records in 2002. Two years later, they resurfaced with Keep Your Wig On, having fully embraced their power pop roots with the help of co-producer Adam Schlesinger. The album strengthened Fastball's work ethic, with frontmen Zuniga and Scalzo writing together for the first time. That collaborative spirit helped fuel another album, Little White Lies, which appeared in 2009 to warm reviews. After several years of focusing on live work, Fastball returned to the studio in 2015, recording in their hometown of Austin. The project emerged in May 2017, a self-released album titled Step into Light, and the band supported it with an extensive tour of the United States and Canada. The following year, Fastball celebrated the 20th anniversary of All the Pain Money Can Buy with an expanded edition of the 1998 album; they accompanied the reissue with a hometown concert in Austin, Texas. In October 2019, Fastball returned with The Help Machine, an album produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, and in Sept 2021 and on June 17, 2022 they released The Deep End.Fastball just released a brand new album called Sonic Ranch. We want to hear from you!
