On this edition of the Richard Crouse Show we meet Adam Growe. You may know him a standup comedian, a corporate entertainer or even a foster parent to seven children. But he's likely most recognized as being Canada's favourite cab driver. He hosted the Canadian trivia-based game show "Cash Cab" for roughly eight years between 2008 and 2015, in which he'd quiz unsuspecting riders with general knowledge questions for their chance to collect money while he drove them from place to place. “Cash Cab” and Adam Growe return with a new spin on the old show… “Cash Cab Music.” Adam is back behind the wheel of a newly-renovated disco taxi, testing his cab customers on musical trivia. Get three wrong and you're out but get the answers right and you can win cash and even sing some karaoke. Then, we get to know Shilpi Somaya Gowda is the New York Times bestselling, award-winning author whose novels have been translated into over 30 languages, been #1 international bestsellers in several countries and sold more than two million copies worldwide. Her newest book, “A Great Country,” has been named an Anticipated/Top Book of 2024 by over a dozen publications, a Heather's Pick at Indigo, and received a starred review from Publishers' Weekly.

We chatted with Dawn Mucci and Adam Growe about Bring Your Eh Game, a new online trivia game aimed at helping Canada's Food Banks.
Known as the Cash Cab Guy... but let's peak behind the curtain... There is more to this story.Adam embraced what he already "had" and re-inventing himself from "live" to "online" quickly. Not withstanding, it was with a great learning experience. From mounting his phone sideways, to his family laughing through the vents. Are the "Gens" and "Millenials" laughing at us "older people"? (we agree they might be, but we are doing it! So keep laughing, we like to see you smile. )Adam shared with us his wonderful humility, as most Canadians do, but also a great outlook on seizing opportunity, how he did it, and sharing his humour from start to finish that is contageous. How did we find Adam? LaurieAnn watches The Cash Cab - and to be clear, LaurieAnn is Canadian, and Roy is American ( and yes, she is a fan... something that Adam has a word for... what may be fandom? Listen to find out), and sometimes LaurieAnn watches the recordings again to make sure she gets the answer right the second time. The attraction of the show? As Adam explains, it is meant for co-viewing. Although LaurieAnn lives alone and her dogs don't have the answer, she does contact Roy with the trivia question and see if he knows the answer (Kind of cheating because she knows the answer, but still fun). So in a sense, there is the after co-viewing experience as well.Beyond that, LaurieAnn "Fandom??" That's me, LaurieAnn. I am speaking for myself and not Roy. After inviting Adam on our Podcast, yes, being a Cash Cab Guy Fan, I did research and watched his comedy routine. I will speak to my experience of having seen a couple of television personalities who I really like, but their stand up comedy was not as appealing... Adam's is funny and impressive. I recommend you check it out!! Not just the Cash Cab Guy by any means. So much more behind the curtain. Our sincerest thanks to you, Adam, for your time. There is so much more in this interview than in this short overview. And more smiles. Enjoy the listen. You can find Adam Growe at www.adamgrowe.comHe is also very active on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instragram. As a closing. Pay attention. Adam does support causes. And he speaks to these, and why. #entrepreneurmind #succeeding #entrepreneurspirit #successminded #inspiration #change #education #lifelessons #buzzsprout #podcast #podcasting #Spotify #GooglePodcast #TuneIn #stitcher #ApplePodcast #iHeartRadio #Pandora #PodcastAddict #Podchaser #Deezer #Listennotes #Overcasat #Pocketcast #Castro and #CastPost #iamthatgal #liftyourstory #liftyourstorypodcast #iamthatgal #thatgalwiththatguy #thecashcabguy #thecashcab #AdamGrowe #entertainment #comedy#cashcab #host

Synopsis We were "live to tape" (as Adam says) from HP's Master the Cloud event in Calgary. As we wrap up the road tour in the frozen city of Calgary I had the pleasure of sitting down with a comedian and celebrity, a technical expert on virtualization from HP, and the manager of Intel's advanced server technologies team. This was a wild, off-the-rails discussion and you can really tell we were just having a good time and excited to wrap up the tour. Great topics of discussion... Topics covered in this episode include... Hypervisors and their value to cloud computing, virtualization and hacking Why are hypervisors critical to cloud computing? Will Intel build a hypervisor into the silicone? How robust driver stacks keep hypervisors 'safe' on the software level... "Raising the bar" on security (analogies of a department store) Virtualization of compute resources & BYOD ...slightly off the rails Federation of identities, and applied to social media Special Guests Jake Smith (Advanced Server Technologies Manager at Intel Corp.) - Jake was a keynote speaker at HP's "Master the Cloud" tour across Canada speaking about Intel's vision for a more connected, more virtualized, and more secure Cloud Computing environment; including Intel's partnerships with HP and some of the advancements they have embarked on together.
