I drink celery juice daily, because has been thee only thing to help me have a bowel movement. I am working myself up to the CBO protocol, believing that will help my issue, but until then I drink celery juice. Kristen: Hey Dr. Cabral! Thanks for your work! I'm suspicious about histamine intolerance but am not interested in following a low histamine diet unless I know for sure. The symptoms of histamine intolerance overlap with symptoms of other concerns. It's hard to figure out where to start but adding unnecessary food restrictions is not my cup of tea. DAO deficiency- is that tested via blood? What do you recommend for testing types and protocols? Are there at home tests? Thanks so much! Marina: Hi Dr Cabral I've noticed that my sleep quality differs throughout the cycle. Day 1 - my sleep is incredible! And stays that way till about half way point. Second half is pretty bad insomnia and even if I sleep, the quality isn't great. My lifestyle does not change. There is nothing that I do differently. I assume it is affected by hormones? Extra magnesium, red glasses etc does not help. What can I do to support sleep in the second half of the cycle? Thank you Suzi: I'm a 60 y old woman(120 lb) who had swelling knees,wrists and thumbs for the last 28 years.It started after pregnancy. Dx RA Seronegative. Took Humera shots twice a month for a few years and it worked great. I've been on my health journey for the last 4 years. Jan 2023 found out I'm sensitive to gluten.I've been on gluten free diet since then. No longer taking humera shots since last Oct. Even though my symptoms improved, still get swelling on knees weekly to a lesser degree. Per xray joints are normal. I'm on last month of CBO protocol. Leaky gut issues have improved. I track my sleep on Oura, no issues there; yearly blood test is perfect, including tyroid. Inflammation marker 4.5, minerals are good. Metals: Mercury at 0.077, Alumium 0.4. Just did regular detox. In this podcast, we're going to talk about the benefits of drinking celery juice. Celery is 95% water, so it doesn't contain many nutrients. A 16-ounce glass of celery juice contains some folate (B9) and about 288 mg of sodium. However, celery juice contains four phytonutrients that have significant health benefits. 1. 3-n-butylphthalide This phytochemical can help repair damage caused by a stroke, reconstruct microcirculation, and has neuroregenerative properties. It also has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptosis, and anti-thrombosis properties. 2. Apigenin Apigenin is one of the most studied polyphenols. It's also found in parsley, onions, oranges, thyme, and basil. Apigenin acts as a muscle relaxer, lowers blood pressure, and improves sleep. It has anti-diabetic properties and has shown to be helpful for people with amnesia. 3. Coumaric acid Coumaric acid is anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, and anti-clotting. It supports healthy blood sugar levels and can also help with inflammation associated with arthritis. 4. Kaempferol Kaempferol is a potent antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory agent. Celery juice is best consumed in the morning on an empty stomach.
