Patreon.com/RememberTheGame Batman: Arkham Asylum is such an important video game. It's not just one of the greatest games ever made, but it really kicked off the modern era of superhero games, and I'd argue that it influenced the action genre as a whole. It's about damned time we showed it some love on RTG. Arkham Asylum absolutely dominated our PS3/Xbox 360 poll in November, and I've spent a couple weeks repaying it for the first time in well over ten years. It might feel a litttttttle basic, combat wise, by today's standards, but holy balls does it hold up. Still looks great, plays awesome, and that voice acting? Forget about it. My guest this week is the Robin to my Batman, my buddy Tyler, and we stayed up late Friday night talking about what an incredible game Arkham Asylum is, and what kind of impact it had on the industry moving forward. And before we visit the Batcave that was built under a prion with nobody noticing which makes absolutely no fucking sense, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks if I have a method to my madness as far as what console I play multi-console games on these days. Would a new Ecco the Dolphin game work in 2024? And if I could pick one game to be a launch title for Nintendo's next console, what would it be? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 retro Batman games: Batman (NES), The Adventures of Batman & Robin, and Batman Forever! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Blog link: https://videogamegrooves.com/2023/05/24/episode-105-street-fighter-alpha-3-blaseball-discipline It has been a spell, but in the spirit of of a timeless thing that is happening again for the first time, we have returned. And we've brought something special with us from the great unknown: video game music on vinyl record! This episode features Street Fighter Alpha 3, and we're pretty sure this is the final entry of all the Street Fighter vinyl that will ever exist, forever. Anthony appreciates the departures the game makes stylistically and musically from the rest of the series, observing that the game arrived at a particular technological and artistic nexus, and perhaps the Gameboy Advance game was truly the best version overall. Jeremy then gets out his wild-eyed conspiracy board persona to discuss the weirdest cultural event that has never ceased, with the iam8bit release of Blaseball: Discipline. Most of this segment is pretty breathless and confounding, but maybe you can learn a thing about the unfathomable energy and circumstance of Blaseball. Or if nothing else, listen to some cool music by The Garages. We then cover the new releases (from a few weeks ago, regrettably, but many are still available!) and we discuss the question that really should have been asked from the beginning: is there anything that is just too weird to go into your collection, or admit to anybody you know? Overzicht benoemde mediaGames benoemd in de intocht: UFC games, Star Wars, Rogue Squadron, A Plague Tale, Guardians of the GalaxyMedia benoemd in de intocht: Skinamarink (2022), The Last of Us tv serie, The Peripheral (Klaas: The Periphal), Dollhouse, het werk van Junji Ito, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent en nog een paar Nicolas Cage films.Games benoemd en met muziek samples in de veldslag: Gradius Interstellar Assault, UN Squadron, Mega Man X3, Starfox/Starwing, Scrapyard Dog, Paperboy, Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest, Streets of Rage 2, Turrican 2, Super Mario Land 2, Treasure of the Usas, Metal Gear, Green Hill Zone, Thunder Force 3, Super Castlevania IV, Batman (NES).

Lost Episode: Comics To Console Crusade Episode 01: Batman - NES - 1990 Listen here: Lost Episode: 01 - Comics To Console Crusade Episode 01 Welcome to a lost episode from the Longbox Crusade! Almost TWO YEARS AGO Pat & Jarrod teamed up with musical genius Joe November and made a show taking a deep dive into the world of video games - more specifically, video games based off of our favorite comic characters. We called his experiment: COMICS TO CONSOLE CRUSADE! And our first (and so far only) episode took a look at Batman on the Nintendo Entertainment System - released in the US back in February of 1990. Get out your cartridge, blow off the bottom, and press “start” on this trip back in time! Let us know what you think of this pilot episode in the comments below. Should we make more? Hey everyone! As you may have noticed the weekend has come and gone and there's been no new show. Due to some scheduling conflicts and a few person matters that needed attending, we were not able to get together to record the show. Things will be back to normal for the next show, episode 35. - In the meantime, we have a special announcement to make. About a year ago we uploaded you video to YouTube called "Challenge of the Sprites", of The Challenge for short. The concept being that each week would feature a new classic game with a new challenge to go along with it. After our first game, Batman NES, some things came up and this got pushed to the background. The times come to The Challenge to return. Starting next week new shows will be uploaded on a more regular basis, should be weekly. The second episode (It's been a year but it's still technically the second) will be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES with the challenge of Raphael only. - We can't wait to share it with you!
