Hello there everyone! Welcome back to Surviving the Horror. In this month's episode, Josh and Colin are delving back into the world of Resident Evil with the community voted game of Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. Originally meant to be the true sequel and follow up to Resident Evil 2, Code Veronica later became a non-numbered title due to development time and another project moving more quickly (this project would later become Resident Evil 3: Nemesis). Code Veronica follows the story of Claire Redfield, still searching for her brother Chris following the events of Resident Evil 2. Her journeys take her to the Umbrella labs in Paris, to Rockfort Island, and even to Antarctica, battling vicious BOWs, solving elaborate puzzles, and uncovering shocking truths about the founding of Umbrella and the storied and tragic family of the Ashfords. Claire's story is full of all the fantastic things that we've come to expect from the Resident Evil franchise, including tank controls of course, but it wasn't until this playthrough that both Colin and Josh realized how much of the later games were set up and based on interactions between characters that occur here in Code Veronica X. This is truly an underrated and underplayed game in the Resident Evil franchise that we think is well worth your time and effort. Initially released on the Sega Dreamcast in 2001, Code Veronica later received ports for both the PS2 and the GameCube. The version that both Josh and Colin are playing is a port of the PS2 version, played through the PS5, and while the version might have some technical inferiority when compared with the Xbox 360 port of the game, that doesn't stop the boys from having a blast and gushing about the detail and lore that this title provides. Thank you so much for listening and we'll see you next month when we talk about Dead Space 2!

We continue our deep dive into Sega's final console with the biggest name in survival horror. We're talking about Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which initially launched on the Dreamcast on February 3rd, 2000 in Japan and March 28th, 2000 in North America. Claire and Chris Redfield's nightmare continues as the siblings fight to survive within Umbrella's deadly facilities. Explore the mysterious Rockfort Island facility and the freezing Antarctic Base for clues exposing the Umbrella Corporation's sordid goals. The fourth main installment in the storied series brought some new innovations but the brothers question whether these technical achievements added much to the gameplay. Tom and Ant agree on what puzzle was their favorite while Tom and Pete are in agreement on one of the lamest puzzles. The brothers poke some fun at one of the most infamous characters in the series, Steve Burnside. Tom and Ant discuss how the game fits into the Resident Evil universe and how it nicely ties the games together. Pete mentions what the rare limited edition Dreamcasts, that you probably never knew existed, are selling for on the resale market. This week the brothers ask which of these creatures would be your least favorite to run into? Moths that can lays eggs and poison you, a flock of bats, giant spiders Follow us on X @BrosBossBattles Instagram @BrosBossBattles https://brothersandbossbattles.com/

This is First Aid Spray - a Resident Evil podcast by fans, for fans! We return to Comic Club, we return to Code Veronica, we return to WildStorm… sort of? The official English translation of the Tinhangse manhua adaptation takes us through the video game in painstaking detail but manages to offer some real variety - for better and worse. What do we love about the manhua art style? How well does this game adapt the Code Veronica story? Is Alfred a walking meme? And can Chris Redfield be stopped?! Patreon.com/RememberTheGame In case you didn't know, I'm a bit of a Mega Man fan. And while I love most of his games, Mega Man 9 is like one of the best slices of a phenomenal pizza. This game is so...fucking...good. And what's really wild about MM9 is that it kinda came outta nowhere. Mega Man 8 released in the late 90's, and while we had some spin-off games, it seemed like the mainline Mega series was Mega dead. And then all of sudden Capcom announced that a new game was in the works, and it was going back to its classic 8-bit roots. I was excited, but a little skeptical. Fortunately, it turned out that they not only reached, but exceeded my expectations. Mega Man 9 is beloved by practically every Mega Man fan, and with good reason. It might just be the best game in the series. I'm rolling solo this week. I'm excited to kick off a new year of the show, and what better way than by talking about a game I could ramble about for hours without coming up for air. Let's talk Mega Man! And before I get Mega, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks what retro consoles I currently own, and which ones am I looking to pick up? Have I ever scrapped an episode of the show because I wasn't happy with it? And a listener wonders if they should scold their son for not holding "run" while playing Mario? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 of the highest rated Capcom games on Metacritic: Street Fighter 4, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil: Code Veronica! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It's been a light news week but we find plenty to chew on thanks to some additional developments related to the future of Resident Evil. Nolan makes his return this week so he and Nick talk about their time with DREDGE; A Lovecraftian fishing game that is sure to be a standout Indie game for the year. Brad finally talks about Wild Hearts - game that has challenged his Monster Hunter programming but is shaping up to be a worthy relative to the beloved hunting franchise.

Welcome to Chapter Select Season Five! Logan Moore brings Max Roberts under Capcom's horror umbrella and guides him through this nightmarish franchise. Have over 25 years of innovation and reinvention turned this survival horror series into a husk of a corpse or kept gamers on the edge of their seats? Clear out your inventory. Turn off the lights. It's time for…Resident Evil! You can download a copy of this episode's transcript here. For the season's structure, Logan and I sat down and custom-tailored the order for this series. Given the nature of RE-makes, we wove in old and new together based off platform accessibility. Here is the order we have for Season 5: Episode 1 – Resident Evil (2002) is releasing on January 11, 2022. Episode 2 – Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017) is releasing on January 25, 2023. Episode 3 – Resident Evil 0 (2002) is releasing February 8, 2023. Episode 4 – Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019) is releasing February 22, 2023 with special guest Ricky Frech. Episode 5 – Resident Evil 4 (2004) is releasing on March 8, 2023 with special guest Dustin Furman. Episode 6 – Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020) is releasing on March 22, 2022. Episode 7 – Resident Evil: Code Veronica (2000) is releasing on April 5, 2023. Episode 8 – Resident Evil Village (2021) is releasing on April 19, 2023 with special guest Michael Ruiz. Episode 9 – Resident Evil 5 (2009) is releasing on May 3, 2023. Episode 10 – Resident Evil 6 (2012) is releasing on May 17, 2023. Episode 11 – Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) is releasing on May 31, 2023 with special guest Jerrad Wyche. I am fairly new to the Resident Evil franchise. I entered the fold with RE7 because of PSVR. When Village hit shelves, I snagged it thanks to expiring credits at Best Buy. I never went beyond dabbling with the series classics, although I have longed for the iconic chainsaw controller. In contrast, Logan is a long-time S.T.A.R.S agent, originally getting into the series all on the GameCube. He claims that Resident Evil is personally up there with Metal Gear Solid. All of the art this season was generated by the DALL-E 2 AI art generator. We felt there was something eerily ironic about a corporate AI whipping up art about a game series where an evil corporation creates zombie bioweapons. You know I'll be digging in deep to the how to in this season's Behind the Scenes post later this year. It's time for you to make a Jill Sandwich, put on your headphones, and pack up some green herbs for Season 5: Resident Evil! The first episode will be launching next Wednesday – January 11, 2023 – with new episodes following in a fortnightly manner. Subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts!

The Franchise Festival crew performs a deep dive on Resident Evil: Revelations' development, gameplay, and plot with Arielle Danan (@HuggableHipster). Along the way, we speculate about mechanical connections to Dead Space and lore connections to Resident Evil: Code Veronica. We may not have enjoyed the game as much as previous series entries, but we still had a great time discussing Capcom's attempt to revive traditional survival horror. You can find Arielle on Twitter, YouTube, Patreon, and TikTok. My one and only Dreamcast game is a Resident Evil offshoot title starring the Redfield siblings and the biggest cast of whiny jerks one could never hope to run into. Here is a collection of outtakes from our episodes on Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil 5, "Zombies!", and Resident Evil 6 (Part 1); there's an abnormally high amount of Bandersnatch talk for some reason! We appreciate your patience and will deliver our Resident Evil 6 (Part 2) episode on June 1, 2022.
Here it is! The most electrifying SEGA game since Virtua Fighter Kids! This game is not talked about enough and really, its become a problem so we went ahead and made it your problem. This game has all the best and none of the worst of Resident Evil, including incest and the first return of Wesker so pay attention and get ready cause its Code Veronica time!
I don't think there's franchise that I've grown more fond of since the beginning of this podcast than Resident Evil. I went from only playing a couple of the mainline games, to running through most of the core games in the series. But I always slept on Code Veronica, because I assumed it was just a half-assed spin-off. Turns out, it's kinda like Resident Evil 3.5 as far as the main series goes, and it's actually pretty fun! There's a boss fight on a plane that can get bent, and getting rid of a fire extinguisher screwed me over, but it's still a solid RE experience. Aside from that stuff (and Steve. Fuck that guy.), this game is really fun! This episode was sponsored by Slick Rick, one of the longest running hot dogs in the pack, and I'm really pumped that he convinced me to give this game a shot. We had a chat about why Resident Evil: Code Veronica meant so much to him, and then my buddy Patrick and I explained everything we liked (and hated) about Claire's return to the spotlight. And before we talk about Steve and his uselessness, it's another edition of the 'Remember The Game? Infamous Intro'! This week, someone asked if I prefer playing retro games on their native hardware, or current consoles? We also talk about the new Mario Kart tracks, and what non-fiction video game books are worth a glance. PLUS, we have another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', featuring three early 2000's Capcom classics: Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, and Okami. Are you on social media? Of course you are. Join us for our halloween special of 2021 where we discuss the relatively new entry into the Top 100 list - Resident Evil Code: Veronica. This is a strange entry into the series, as it was always treated like a side game, but was included in the mainline canon. We hash out the details as to whether or not this game from the year 2000 really deserves the praise of being in the Top 100...

This month the boys discuss an underrated Resident Evil mainline title. Let's see if we how Code Veronica holds up twenty years on in 2021.
Isaac and Miles FINALLY wrap up their discussion on Code: Veronica. The only thing longer than this discussion was the year 2020.
Isaac and Miles continue their exploration of Code Veronica for better or for worse! We encounter Steve's father, we evade a giant worm monster, and we discuss one of the biggest gate keeper moments in video game history. We also discuss our 2020 Christmas and a small look at CD Projekt Red's simultaneously great and buggy title Cyberpunk 2077.
Welcome to the very first episode of Pixel Table Talk, where we take a deep dive into one of the more forgotten about games in the long running Resident Evil series; Code Veronica. Does it deserve to be remembered alongside the greats in the series, or was it a misstep that led to some of the worst parts of the brand? Join hosts Miles and Isaac to hear their thoughts and reminisce about their favorite moments in the series.
The hosts are joined once again by Resident Evil expert George Hamilton for their discussion this week! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
