Chris Huelsbeck remains one of the most important composers in the area of computer games music. He was influenced by Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, and other experimental electronic bands of the 1970s. His sounds for Turrican, Star Wars, and The Great Giana Sisters rank amongst his most famous compositions but he has in total written music for over 100 games in his career. Born in Kassel in Germany, he was brought up near Frankfurt. At 17, he won a competition for the 64er magazine for his composition Shades, leading to a job at Rainbow Arts in music production.His story is about genius, talent, aspiration, and hard work. In deze queeste praat Peter (Retrogamepapa) samen met vaste Ridders Klaas en Alex over hun favoriete muziek in openingslevels/gedeeltes van een game. Daarbij hebben ze als extra criterium dat het tot max 16-bit era mag gaan. Welke muziek pompt het meeste enthousiasme in ons gamerhart of weet ons diep te beroeren? Daarnaast is er voor het eerst een nieuwe verkapte "postkoets" rubriek waarin luisteraars een korte review insturen over een game die ze zojuist hebben uitgespeeld. Der PC Games Podcast ist wieder da! Etwa sieben Jahre nach dem Ende des ursprünglichen PCG-Casts melden wir uns mit einem Reboot zurück. Dafür sind zuletzt unsere bisherigen Plauder-Formate Games Aktuell Podcast, play-Podcast und Heim Kino fusioniert. Beim neuen PC Games Podcast handelt es sich dementsprechend um einen Multiplattform-Podcast mit gelegentlichen Abstechern in das Gebiet der Filme und Serien. Thematisch also am Angebot unserer Webseite ausgerichtet. Neben bewährten Rubriken wie Test oder Vorschau werden wir euch euch allerhand andere Formate auf die Ohren geben. Mal etwas tiefgründiger, mal etwas witziger. Jeden Donnerstag führen zukünftig Chris und/oder Maci durch die Sendung. Die anderen Redaktionsmitglieder sind aber natürlich regelmäßig zu Gast, um über allerlei Spielethemen zu plaudern. Auch externe Gäste werden den neuen PCG-Podcast immer wieder mal beehren. Epic has opened a new studio In Cologne, Germany, that'll be led by the founders of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and Turrican developer Factor 5. Breaking the news in a short press release, Epic explained former Factor 5 chief exec Achim Moller will take charge of the new opening as studio head. Moller will be joined by Epic's new director of online technology Julian Eggebrecht, who once upon a time served as president of the Rogue Squadron dev. Godzilla has a long and strange history in the world of video games.
