For many years Ede was content just being a fan and a dancer. A transcendent experience on the dance floors of Berlin's club scene, however, lead him to deep dive into production at his home studio. His impact was immediate. The quality and depth of his music were recognized by leading figures of the scene who signed his first two releases, one to Innervisions and the other on Correspondant. Now with new releases out on TAU and shows across Europe, Ede is rapidly growing a grassroots fan base which is continually breaking barriers. @edemusik ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Fri 6th March: Novel presents Maceo Plex @ 170 Russell, Melbourne www.facebook.com/events/289745208639720/ Fri 6th March - Mon 10th March: Pitch Music & Arts 2020 feat. Kate Doherty has been claiming Sydney underground dance floors for over a decade. Doherty’s sets are notorious for their sophisticated flair and accuracy; imbuing techno, house, and electro with funk and hip-hop sensibilities. Her energetic sets are founded in hours industriously preparing for nuanced and surprising sets, never far from the massive sounds of blackened-techno and industrial influences. Doherty is qualified in her place as one of three House of Mince residents having previously been a resident with the inimitable 4our, a warehouse party collaboration between Sydney DJs Trinity and Magda Bytnerowicz. @katedoherty ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Sunday 1st March: Novel & Revolver Sundays pres. Born into a lifetime love for electronic music, Pretty Girl (Emilia Predebon) has spent the year slowly finding her feet in Melbourne’s music scene. 2019 has been an eventful year for the 21-year old producer, developing her live set to play at clubs and bars all over Melbourne, and headlining a warehouse show run by Handle. Although DJing is a new world to Pretty Girl, her background in production and performance is enhanced by years of experience with different DAWs. In the near future, Pretty Girl intends not only to release and play more of her productions, but continue making mixes full of emotional lo-fi, and glittery ambient house music, just like the Novelcast she has prepared. @prettygirlmusic ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Friday 21st February: Novel presents Man Power: Glamorama, Melbourne www.facebook.com/events/1195740940622712/ Sunday 1st March: Novel & Revolver Sundays pres. The Byron Bay-bred, Melbourne-based producer is signed to the domestic label Unknown Records, and his work display a keen auditory vision, well-versed sound design and production techniques to shape a truly unique sound. Melbourne based DJ duo TRIKKI burst onto the scene in 2017 and are on the rise. Born and bred in the heart of Melbourne, music has always been a big part of the duo's lives. Growing up in such a rich culture of underground music piqued their interest in creating and performing. Having been in the industry for just over two years, they have quickly risen from bedroom DJ's to playing some of the biggest stages that Melbourne has to offer. These include residencies at prestigious venues such as Billboards, Level 3 at Crown, CQ, Brown Alley and the Royal Melbourne Hotel, as well as supporting the likes of Will Sparks, Timmy Trumpet and Joel Fletcher. Furthermore, the duo landed a slot at one of Australia's premier dance music festivals, Beyond the Valley. They have reached incredible heights in such a short amount of time. Adopting a more futuristic and electronic approach to house music, they aim to bridge the gap between the old school Melbourne Bounce sound of their roots and the current climate of popular electronic music worldwide. They released their most successful single to date ‘Meant to Be’ earlier in the year, and their follow-up single ‘Here With Me’ in early August, which featured on various blogs and radio stations. Their new single ‘Through the Dark’ is set to release in late October. This latest single aims to cultivate the powerhouse duo's unique sound.
Jake Hughes is a mover & shaker, the kind of guy that makes things happen in the background without breaking a sweat. His fun yet no-frills brand of electronic music has seen him play at venues including Brown Alley, Revolver Upstairs, Pawn & Co, Prince of Wales, Railway Hotel Brunswick, My Aeon, and Glamorama, supporting the likes of Andhim, Butch, Dubfire, Eagles & Butterflies, Kolsch, Kolombo, Michael Mayer, Oliver Koletzki, Niko Schwind, and Laura Jones. He also co-runs Forgery, an event series which has acquired a name for good times and good music. The brand’s portfolio includes a monthly residency at Ferdydurke (the second Friday of every month) and one-off events at Section 8. Forgery’s upcoming collaboration with Bay Radio, called Flex Appeal, will see them host the second room at the forthcoming smalltown with Ben Klock, Jennifer Cardini and Mind Against. This Novelcast is a perfect taster of what you can expect to hear. @forgerymusic ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Fri, May 10th: smalltown & SASH with Ben Klock, Jennifer Cardini + Mind Against @ Home Nightclub, Sydney www.facebook.com/events/773886359661274/ Sat, May 11th: smalltown with Ben Klock, Jennifer Cardini + Mind Against @ Thornbury, Melbourne www.facebook.com/events/1023165764737629/ ==================================================== Stay in touch: www.facebook.com/weareNovel/
Tom Trago has long been one of the leading lights of the Dutch electronic music underground; a globe-trotting DJ, producer, live performer and label owner who enjoys nothing more than championing both overlooked gems and fresh sounds from his own country. He once claimed that he felt a physical need to make music every day, and it’s hard to think of anyone whose immersion in music is quite as complete. Although now widely considered to be among the top tier of European DJs, capable of working big rooms, intimate spaces and wild festival crowds, Trago’s rise was built on years honing his craft. Not only is he an integral part of the Dekmantel and Rush Hour crews, but he is also production whizz and the go-to DJ if you need to inject a party with some much-needed energy. In fact, if you had to assemble a team of global party starters, Tom Trago would not only be part of the team, he would be an integral member of the team leadership group. @tomtrago ==================================================== Catch Tom Trago at these upcoming events: Saturday 9th February: Secret Warehouse, Sydney (SOLD OUT) Saturday 9th February: Sugar, Adelaide https://www.facebook.com/events/495647187627981/ Sunday 10th February: Nevermind, Perth https://www.facebook.com/events/621549091595799/ Friday 15th February: 121, Wellington https://www.facebook.com/events/288676511851040/ Saturday 16th February: smalltown w/ Axel Boman, George Fitzgerald & Tom Trago @ Caulfield Racecourse, Melbourne https://www.facebook.com/events/1770228636405611/ Saturday 16th February: The Grand Poobah, Tasmania https://www.facebook.com/events/284733705524773/ ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Fri, Feb 15th: Novel & Finer Things pres. Sup guys, Happy Monday to you all. Got another new set to share and this one is certainly a banger !! It's from Ergot Radio's Rooftop Sunday Session at Brown Alley yesterday.
