Legacy, Land, and the Love of the Turkey – with David Hawley (Wild Turkey Report) In this heartfelt and powerful episode of the Turkey Season Podcast, host Paul Campbell sits down with David Hawley—founder of Wild Turkey Report, dedicated conservationist, and die-hard turkey hunter. Together, they dive deep into the roots of turkey hunting tradition, the importance of stewardship, and the unmatched connection between hunter and bird. From the emotional highs of spring gobbles to the legacy of family land, David shares stories of his upbringing, his love for trumpet calls, the wisdom of his grandfather, and his evolution from a turkey killer to a turkey keeper. They discuss land management, predator control, conservation challenges, and why the entire paragraph of the turkey hunting experience—not just the exclamation point of a harvest—matters most. Plus, Paul gives a preview of exclusive, limited-run custom calls now available on TurkeySeason.com, and drops a teaser for next week's guest—none other than Cuz Strickland. This one's full of soul, reverence, and real talk about the passion that binds all turkey hunters. A must-listen for anyone who loves the bird, the woods, and the springtime pursuit.

You see it while spectating at MotoAmerica events, you see it while watching MotoAmerica on TV or on MotoAmerica Live+... a rider crashes and before you know it there are men and/or women by their side, checking to see if they are okay and also getting the crashed motorcycle out of harms way for the riders who will soon be coming into that section of the racetrack. It looks hectic and it is, but those corner workers are trained in advance and they know that they're doing - thanks to David Hawley. Hawley is MotoAmerica's Chief Marshal and the man in charge of not only finding cornerworkers, but also training them. We caught up with the Brit on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to find out what it takes to be a cornerworker at a MotoAmerica event. In this episode, we are joined by our good buddy, David Hawley, on the back porch of Feathers Chapel to catch up on the season so far and to talk about hunting educated birds, managing your property for healthier, more sustainable turkey populations, the resurgence of the turkey trumpet, the mission of the Wild Turkey Report, and about why you should never lock Black Betty without asking... If you don't follow the Wild Turkey Report, you do yourself a disservice. It is a wealth of knowledge and an all around great resource. David is passionate about turkeys now, but he's even more passionate about turkeys in the future. A legacy matters. Passing down skills and a love of the wild turkey to future generations is the only thing that will ensure that we'll still be in the woods in early spring waiting on a gobble. If you like the show, share it with a friend and leave us a review! It helps us get the sound of a new generation out to more folks. On episode 26 of The GameKeeper Podcast, we tackle the topic of the legendary Mossy Head wild turkey. Are they a distinct species or is it just a unique genetic trait? We also talk with Tim Cosby, former Chief Law Enforcement officer with over 30 years’ experience with the Alabama Department of Conservation. Both of our turkey obsessed guests give their opinions on the Mossy Heads and share stories of this legendary bird. We also discuss, David showing off his turkey calling skills on the David Letterman Show, possible proof of the existence of the southern long tail cats. Michael's subject today is Education. Something not covered before in all the eight or nine years of this programme. So, it’s not before time! In this open, free, innovative and economically liberal society that is Switzerland, there are many choices available to parents and students throughout primary, secondary and tertiary levels of schooling, in the broadest sense. And it must be said that generally speaking the Swiss, public education system is of high quality, thorough, rigorous and extensive. Michael examines private education, and in particular the education provided by one, well-known pioneer, the International School of Geneva or Ecolint, as it is also called. Today, unusually, not one Guest but two. The Director-General of Ecolint, Dr David Hawley, and one of his students, Antonia Molnar.

He tells how he, and four others, began the nearly impossible journey to locate a sunken steamboat rumored to have whiskey and gold. That steamboat was known as the Arabia. It sank in the Missouri River in 1856. Hear the tale of how the group unearthed 200 tons of cargo-- a virtual 1856 'Walmart' store beneath the ground. David explains how the conditions of the buried wreckage were able to preserve much of it's 132 year-old cargo. David Hawley, Greg Hawley, Bob Hawley, David Luttrell and Jerry Mackey were the five men who successful took on this journey. Hear the surprising decision they made regarding what to do with the largest collection of pre-civil war artifacts in the world.
