MediQuant, according CEO Jim Jacobs, is an "active archive" service, in business since 1999. With the growing importance of AI, MediQuant is supporting customers now on the best and safest ways to use their legacy and archived data for those applications.Jacobs points out AI's huge hunger for data and says that customers "miss a lot of the picture" if they can't draw on historical data.  In fact, many AI applications need to have the full historical data to work effectively. Plus, as with other use cases, the data needs to be taken from disparate sources and cleaned up so that it's accurate and can be consumed.  Mediquant is focused on making the data from disparate legacy systems accessible for healthcare organizations.Learn more about MediQuant: https://www.mediquant.com/Healthcare IT Community: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/

MediQuant has been providing health data management and active archiving since 1999. In this video, CEO Jim Jacobs describes how they seek “one patient, one record” so that providers have complete and accurate data for the patients they serve. In addition to fulfilling organizational needs such as compliance and enhanced patient care, Jacobs believes that preserving data from legacy systems has wide-reaching benefits. For instance, one customer is using AI to process ten years' worth of data to prove that a denial of treatment was unwarranted. But providers struggle because many have more than a thousand systems holding data, and find themselves with even more redundant systems after mergers or acquisitions. Decommissioning systems is a complex task, while systems that are overlooked are at risk of breaches. What is philosophy? How is it done well in the Catholic Tradition? Born To Watch - A Movie Podcast

GREASE - was a pop culture musical phenomenon that took the world by storm and become a right of passage for any child in the 80s and beyond. The Born to Watch team tackles this classic and hand jive all the way to Graduation.Released over four decades ago, "Grease" (1978) remains an iconic and beloved musical that continues to captivate audiences of all ages with its infectious energy, memorable tunes, and timeless themes. Directed by Randal Kleiser and based on the 1971 musical of the same name by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, the film has solidified its place in cinematic history as a quintessential representation of 1950s nostalgia, high school romance, and the power of self-discovery. From its catchy melodies to its vibrant choreography, "Grease" radiates a distinct charm that has stood the test of time.Set in the summer of 1959, "Grease" follows the whirlwind romance between Danny Zuko (John Travolta), a leather-clad bad boy with a heart of gold, and Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John), a wholesome Australian exchange student. After a chance encounter during their summer break, the couple faces the challenges of navigating the social dynamics of Rydell High School upon their unexpected reunion. Danny's tough-guy reputation clashes with Sandy's good-girl image, setting the stage for a delightful exploration of teenage identity, peer pressure, and the transformative power of love.At its core, "Grease" is a celebration of youthful exuberance and the trials and tribulations of teenage life. The film expertly captures the spirit of the 1950s, from the fashion and music to the burgeoning cultural shifts of the era. The lively musical numbers, including classics like "Summer Nights," "You're the One That I Want," and "Greased Lightnin'," are not only irresistibly catchy but also serve as windows into the characters' emotions and desires. The soundtrack's timeless appeal is a testament to its enduring popularity, with audiences across generations still tapping their feet and singing along.John Travolta's charismatic portrayal of Danny Zuko is a highlight of the film, as he effortlessly embodies the role of the lovable rebel torn between maintaining his tough image and pursuing genuine love. Olivia Newton-John's performance as Sandy is equally captivating, as she transitions from the demure, naive newcomer to a confident young woman unafraid to express her true self. The chemistry between Travolta and Newton-John is palpable, lending authenticity to their characters' emotional journey and making their on-screen romance all the more believable. The supporting cast adds depth and humor to the story, with standout performances from Stockard Channing as the sassy and rebellious Rizzo, Jeff Conaway as Danny's loyal friend Kenickie, and Didi Conn as the quirky and endearing Frenchy. Each character brings a unique flavor to the narrative, showcasing the diversity of personalities that make up the high school experience.Randal Kleiser's direction brings a visually vibrant and energetic atmosphere to "Grease." The film's iconic dance sequences, choreographed by Patricia Birch, are a sight to behold, combining slick moves and exuberant choreography that perfectly complement the film's lively musical numbers. The high-energy dance-off at the school carnival and the electrifying hand jive scene are just a few examples of the film's memorable moments that have become ingrained in popular culture.Beyond the catchy tunes and lively performances, "Grease" delves into relatable themes of self-acceptance and the challenges of finding one's identity in the face of societal expectations. The characters' struggles to fit in, overcome peer pressure, and forge genuine connections remain relevant to audiences today. The film's ultimate message of embracing one's true self and following one's heart resonates across generations, reminding viewers that authenticity and self-discovery are timeless pursuits. However, it's important to acknowledge that "Grease" has faced criticism for its portrayal of certain gender dynamics and its lack of diversity. The film primarily revolves around heterosexual relationships and conforms to traditional gender roles, which may be at odds with contemporary sensibilities. Moreover, the absence of racial diversity within the main cast and the predominantly white portrayal of a high school in the 1950s overlooks the multicultural reality of American schools during that period. In conclusion, "Grease" (1978) remains a cinematic gem that continues to shine brightly in the pantheon of musicals. Its infectious energy, unforgettable characters, and timeless themes make it a perennial favorite that has earned its place in the hearts of audiences worldwide. While it may not be without its flaws, the film's enduring charm, catchy music, and vibrant dance sequences ensure that it will remain a beloved classic for generations to come. "Grease" transports us back to a simpler time while reminding us that the journey of self-discovery and love is a universal and everlasting one. Please follow the Podcast and join our community at https://linktr.ee/borntowatchpodcast If you are looking to start a podcast and want a host or get guests to pipe in remotely, look no further than Riverside.fmClick the link below https://riverside.fm/?utm_campaign=campaign_1&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=rewardful&via=matthew

Today, I am so excited to announce the first part of my celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Grease with it's original director Tom Moore. In addition to Grease, Tom Moore's Broadway credits include ‘Night, Mother, Over Here, and Frankenstein. If you want to hear even more about the creation of Grease, make sure to purchase the recently released book Grease, Tell Me More, Tell Me More: Stories from the Broadway Phenomenon That Started it All, coauthored by Tom Moore, Ken Waissman, and Adrienne Barbeau. You can find it here:   Purchase the Book   But first, tune in today to hear some of the stories of Tom's amazing life and career, including: why Frankenstein never got its chance, the stars he thought were dead before he worked with them, his initial hesitance to accept Grease, the art to meeting with Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, why he wanted to revive Once in a Lifetime, the show he feels was the best work he ever did, the idea he never used for the film of ‘Night, Mother, the two shows he thinks weren't right for Broadway, the perfect pairing of stars for Moon Over Buffalo, and so much more.   You won't want to miss this masterclass in directing peppered with fantastic anecdotes.

My guests on this episode are the original producer and director of the Broadway musical GREASE -- Ken Waissman and Tom Moore. This is the second half of our recent conversation. If you missed part one you may want to catch up on that first before listening to this one. This week marks the 50th Anniversary of Grease's move from the Eden Theater on the Lower East Side to The Broadhurst -- the first of the three Broadway theaters Grease would play during its record breaking eight year run.  And it fact, on June 5th, just a few days after I spoke with them, Ken and Tom hosted an anniversary party at Sardi's, where they and Grease's original cast had celebrated the show's opening back in 1972.  Grease alumni attending the event included co-writer Jim Jacobs, choreographer Patricia Birch, and performers Marilu Henner, Judy Kaye, Jerry Zaks, Carole Demas, Ray DeMattis, Ilene Graff, Barry Bostwick (via Zoom) and many more. All of them also contributed their memories to the new book: Grease – Tell Me More, Tell Me More – Stories From The Broadway Phenomenon That Started It All. I've been collecting photos and video of that event as well as the two recent Grease reunion shows at 54 Below and posting them in my Broadway Nation Facebook Group where I invite you to join me and more than 2000 other fans of this podcast -- who probably much like you are hooked on Broadway musicals.  Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/375627810176381 In this episode Tom and Ken share some fascinating stories about the development of the show including how they worked with the show's authors to trim the original "phone book" size script down to a manageable size, how they inspired them to add some now classic hit songs to the score, and how they all survived a disastrous first preview and then reworked and revamped the show in just three weeks. Even though Ken was at that time the youngest producer on Broadway, your will hear how he masterminded some brilliant old school style producing tricks that helped turn a near flop into one of most successful musicals of all time!   My favorite part of this episode is in the second half when Ken relates how he had to wheel and deal with the Shuberts and Nederlanders, and go head to head with the “Abominable Showman” himself –- legendary producer David Merrick. It's "The Modern Era of Broadway" vs "The Golden Age"! It's quite a story! Enjoy! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome to 'Don't You Want Me?' - a podcast series taking a lighthearted look at the most relatable, intriguing and dysfunctional relationships in film.  In this episode, we're hopelessly devoted to 1978's not-so shy and retiring musical GREASE, directed by Randal Kleiser. With a screenplay by Bronte Woodard and Allan Carr and based on the stage show written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, this oiled-up extravaganza and is still one of the highest-grossing movie musicals ever made and remains embedded in popular culture like the milkshake stain you can't get out of your jeans. Tonight we'll be splashing around with Sandy and Danny, before heading to the drive-in with Kenickie and Rizzo. Today on The Download from Sounds Profitable; podcast CPMs blow digital out of the water, a leaked document reveals YouTube plans for podcasters, and iHeartMedia breaks into kids podcasting. In a development some industry veterans might not have seen coming when they got started in the industry: The Wall Street Journal has an article about podcast advertising. And what’s better: podcast CPMs are doing well. Last Friday WSJ’s Megan Graham published “Streaming Audio Climbs the Charts With Marketers, but Some Want More Certainty.” Graham’s 900-word report combines interviews with advertisers with data from sources like the Infinite Dial to give a birds-eye view of the industry. “In early 2021, some 68 percent of Americans aged 12 and older said they listened to online audio in the previous month, up from 47% who said the same in 2014, according to surveys conducted by Edison Research and Triton Digital.” Graham goes on to cite a Standard Media Index study showing podcast CPMs rose to $26 in Q3 2021, up four dollars from 2019. The piece covers some of the inherent issues with confirming the reach and success of a given podcast ad, but primarily presents a bright future to the industry through quotes from ad buyers big and small. While it’s not full of brand-new information that’d shock someone with an eMarketer bookmark, it does reflect a healthy and growing industry. And did we mention the Wall Street Journal is talking about podcasting? Last week we covered the developing story of TV ratings giant Nielsen, their pack of evolution, and a rejected buyout offer of six billion dollars. According to InsideRadio this Tuesday, Nielsen has sold for sixteen billion to a collective of private equity firms. “The Nielsen board voted unanimously to support the acquisition proposal, which represents a 10% premium over the consortium's earlier proposal and a 60% premium over Nielsen's stock price before the potential sale surfaced in early-March.” Barring any unforeseen interruptions, the deal is expected to close in the latter half of 2022. Now we wait to see if, as said last week on The Download, yet another third party incumbent for measurement and research becomes a proprietary service under new ownership. YouTube’s planning big things for podcast integration, monetization, and analytics, according to an exclusive scoop on Wednesday from Podnews. “Despite no announcement from YouTube’s director of podcasting, Kai Chuk, at Podcast Movement Evolutions last week, Podnews has been sent an 84-page presentation produced by YouTube, intended for podcast publishers. In it, three slides marked ‘Looking Ahead’ allow us a view into what YouTube is planning.” The most notable features of the leaked deck are a promise of RSS feed ingestion, monetization both through Google and approved larger partners, and they’re open to accepting podcast measurement solutions. The final comes with a promise to integrate YouTube data into “industry-standard podcast measurement platforms.” This is paired with the logos for Podtrac, Charitable, and Nielsen. Podnews offers the insight with “Chartable was bought by Spotify in February, so perhaps this slide shows companies that YouTube have worked with, rather than companies it might work with in future.” Shreya: Spotify is testing out one of its new toys in a new test integration of discovery platform Podz. As reported by Tech Crunch’s Sarah Perez on Monday, a Twitter thread from early adopter Chris Messina showcases the new feature. The Podz integration as of this writing is visually similar to algorithm-driven vertical feed apps like TikTok, providing Spotify users with a seemingly infinite virtual feed of sixty second audio clips from podcast episodes matched to show art, animated transcript, and episode information. “What made the company’s technology interesting is that it didn’t rely on podcast creators to produce their own clips for its feed. Instead, it used a machine learning model that had been trained on some 100,000 hours of audio to help automatically select clips to showcase.” As Perez points out in the article, Podz isn’t the first company to try and fix podcast discovery, but they were the first to be bought for almost fifty million dollars. Now their tech is being deployed for field testing on iOS devices. Time will tell how Spotify’s new automated TikTok for podcasts works out. El segundo, A frustratingly difficult question about your podcast audience is about to get a lot less frustratingly difficult by Dan Misener. El cual detalla el anuncio de Apple podcasts que la aplicación empezará a proporcionar el número de suscriptores que siguen tu podcast. Y finalmente, el artículo llamado Webby Awards spins off podcast award program for 2023 by Brad Hill. I had Jim Jacobs come to the gallery today to join me for an episode of the Art Dealer Diaries that is unlike any other so far. Jim is a realtor in Tucson, actually the BEST realtor in Tucson and someone that I've bought quite a few houses from over the years. He has great instincts about what architecture and art mean to a home and a homeowner. His backstory involves 20 years of fashion industry expertise in Atlanta and New York City before ever becoming a realtor as well as working at the Playboy Mansion in his early days valeting cars for stars like Johnny Carson. In my opinion, there are so many correlations between art and real estate and the way you conduct business ethically in both of these disciplines. I loved this interview and I feel that many people will find it very intriguing and if you're interested in Tucson real estate it might even inform your next home purchase

When Mike Tyson rocketed onto the scene in the mid-1980s he had a support system that included mentor and father-figure Cus D'Amato, co-managers Jim Jacobs and Bill Cayton, trainer Kevin Rooney and Steve Lott. Lott had already been in the boxing business a decade, working closely with Jacobs and Cayton. He went on to forge a close friendship with Tyson, who as the champion of the world would sometimes sleep on Lott's couch. They have been in and out of contact in subsequent years, but there is no one with a better understanding of the highs and lows of Mike Tyson in the 1980s than Steve Lott.

“Grease” is the word this week, as Alex and Daisha chat about the movie everyone knows and loves, Grease, from 1978! Join the Broadway Babies as they dive into this teen drama that is either loved, or dismissed as problematic. Topics for the week are: performing gender in the film, Grease as satire, viewing a 1978 film with a 2018 lens, and OF COURSE, we chat about Grease’s take on nostalgia. We hope you enjoy!  Songs: “Grease,” performed by Frankie Valli* “Greased Lightnin,’” by John Travolta, Jeff Conaway and T-Birds “Beauty School Dropout,” by Frankie Avalon “There Are Worse Things I Could Do,” by Stockard Channing “You’re the One That I Want,” by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John** “We Go Together,” by cast of “Grease” Music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey *By Barry Gibb **By John Farrar Distributed by RSO Records Show Notes ScreenPrism has a really insightful video about how this movie demonstrates the teenage performance of gender. Director Randal Kleiser did a “Notes on a Scene” session with Vanity Fair about shooting the carnival and “You’re the One that I Want.” Another piece by Vanity Fair about how "Grease" beat the odds to become the biggest movie-musical of the 20th century...and the story of its eccentric producer, Allan Carr.   There are no words about this *cringe* music video reunion of Travolta and OLN… On the other hand, what's basically this “Summer Nights” recreation from “Glee” isn’t that...bad? The trailer for Disney's "Teen Beach Movie" — up to you to decide to watch it or not.

Greetings Earthlings. We come in peace.  To watch Grease.  Grease Two.  Here you will hear recorded evidence of our experience. That’s Jim, Maddy, and me. Instead of the traditional narrative I’ve used to introduce podcasts, I thought I’d give you various [thoughts] and “quotes” from the experience. [Have you heard about the fan theory that Sandy was in a coma throughout the entirety of Grease and at the very end died?  It’s a thing.  The writer of the musical, Jim Jacobs, disputed it…here. So I suppose it’s untrue.  But it’s still a compelling theory.] [Jim, a girl for all seasons, ah-ah-ahhh…ah-ah-ahh…ah-ah-ahh.] “In biker heaven, Cool Rider and Stephanie get to be together in matching jackets.” [There is a stage adaptation of Grease 2.  I think I wanna see it.] [The song from the rock-a-hula luau, which I always sing as, “hock a loogie luau,” sounds, looks, and feels like one of those horrid Kidsongs videos from about 10 years ago.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’re probably better off leaving well enough alone.] “Everything is better with twins.” “Who doesn’t want a pool of enchantment?” “How do we rhyme together?  Oh good…feather.” “Does pause EVER work?” [Ultimately, I believe the entire thesis of Grease 2 is summed up in the diner scene with Michael and Stephanie talking about hamburgers and Hamlet.  Stephanie says, “You know I figured out what Hamlet’s big problem is.”  She then gets immediately side-tracked by the fact that the diner never puts ketchup on the hamburger.  “How can you eat a hamburger with no ketchup?”  She’s absolutely right. “Shoot that over here.”  Having fixed the hamburger situation, she hits us with this spot-on, low-brow, assessment of Hamlet.  And me, which is why I now love the movie. “You know what his problem is?  No laughs.  The guy’s gotta lighten up, right?”] I mean, right!? Anyway, today we present to you the thrilling and hilarious conclusion of our time spent with the T-Bones, Pink Ladies, et al, “Matching Jackets in Biker Heaven (Grease Two, pt 3).” Oh…music.  It’s all Beatles today. “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)” and “Blackbird.”  Two of my favorites, and appropriate for this anniversary which is certainly founded in anger, sadness, and tragedy but, as is always the case if we allow it, transformed into a vessel of healing, hope, and love. God, or whatever it is you place your faith, bless you all. -G
