Everyone belongs to something. The real question is who or what holds your ultimate allegiance. Jesus made clear that no one can fully commit to two opposing masters at the same time, and He named money as the most common rival to God in our lives. The Greek word for 'serve' in Matthew 6:24 is 'doulos,' meaning slave, which means our devotion is never casual or partial. Mammon is a demanding and destructive master that is never satisfied and quietly pulls us away from faith over time. Jesus, by contrast, is a master who gives rather than takes, offering rest, identity, and belonging as His children. Where your treasure goes, your heart will follow, making generosity one of the most powerful ways to realign your allegiance to God.

Jimmy and family went on their annual Shasta Lake camping trip with the Assistant’s family. They went on a hike to a natural water slide. Jimmy and Tyler sit down with James, the International Distributor for Carbon Off-Road — a 10-year-old Australian winch and recovery gear company quietly making a lot of noise in a space dominated by legacy brands. James is a Kiwi who grew up on farms in New Zealand’s Taranaki region before moving to Australia 22 years ago. He found off-roading the same way a lot of adults do: by needing friends and buying a Suzuki. He joined a Suzuki club, met Carbon founder Dan through those connections before Carbon even existed, and eventually joined the company. Now he’s traveling the US in what Tyler accurately describes as a “homeless American gypsy” role — meeting wheelers, attending grassroots events, and slowly building the Carbon Off-Road name in the US market. He stopped in Sacramento on a layover to come on the show, having spent a week with Jimmy and Tyler at Trail Hero Expeditions. Carbon’s pitch is three words: lighter, faster, stronger. Their 12,000 lb flagship is the lightest 12K winch in the world — just under 58 lbs fully installed, aluminum housing, 480 amp max current draw, lifetime mechanical warranty on the gearbox, 5-year electrical on the motor and control box. It retails at $899 USD. The RS9 is their race-spec winch — 9,000 lb capacity, 80 feet per minute unloaded, and James jokes it should come with a parental advisory sticker because it will unspool 78 feet of spectra fiber rope in about a minute if you don’t have tension on the line. On the recovery gear side: Carbon just launched a full lineup available in three colorways — High Viz (orange, commercial/heavy equipment), Blue, and Tactical (so popular it exceeded all expectations). Their Essential Recovery Kit ($349 USD) includes soft shackles, kinetic rope, tree saver, recovery ring, gloves, and a bag that doubles as a winch blanket. The Tac 4×4 Kit ($599 USD) upgrades to spectra-fiber soft shackles rated at 18,000 kg working load limit, adds a utility rope (replaces the tree saver — works as a bridle, rock anchor, winch extension, or general purpose rope), and comes in a MOLLE-style bag. Everything is designed in-house in Australia, third-party tested to minimum breaking strength, and not white-labeled — James is emphatic about this. What you focus on shapes everything about how you live. Jesus, in Matthew 6, teaches that a healthy eye is one that is undivided and fully fixed on Him, and when that is true, life is filled with light, wisdom, and clarity. An unhealthy eye, what the original Greek calls the evil eye, is one corrupted by greed, covetousness, and a desire to possess and control. When our gaze drifts from Jesus, we begin to see people as competition, generosity as loss, and obedience as risk. Perhaps the most sobering warning is that some people believe they are walking in light while actually living in deep darkness, going through religious motions without genuine surrender. The answer is not more religious activity but a complete turning of our eyes to Jesus. When we fix our gaze on the One who gave up everything out of love for us, the world comes into its proper perspective. That is what it means to truly live in the light.

In 2010, a man named Forrest Fen buried treasure in the Rocky Mountains, and published a book with clues to its whereabouts. Thousands went searching for it. Four men even died during the hunt. Most of us are working hard to build something meaningful, but Jesus challenges us to examine where we are placing our treasure. In Matthew 6:19-20, He warns that earthly wealth is fragile and temporary, subject to decay, disaster, and loss. Treasure in heaven, by contrast, refers to acts of generosity, faithfulness, and investment in God's kingdom. These are the things that outlast us and ripple through generations. One of the most striking truths in this passage is that heart follows treasure, not the other way around. If your relationship with God feels shallow, the place to start is not trying harder to feel something. Start by moving your treasure toward His kingdom, and your heart will follow.

The idea is to take Imagineering's massive archive of concept art and accelerate the development process — from blue sky sketch to 3D model, faster than ever before. Sounds exciting, right? Well, EB has thoughts. A lot of them. Speaking of attractions, Hershey Park's legendary Tidal Force — one of the most spectacular splash zones in the history of boat rides — is closing after 32 years this September. Alabama Adventure is teasing a big announcement that fans hope means the long-dormant Rampage wooden coaster is finally coming back, possibly with RMC treatment. Universal Epic Universe is debuting a brand new nighttime spectacular called Celestial Goodnight featuring seven million LED lights and 350 fountains. And Dollywood's Night Flight Expedition has been pushed back to August — which opens the door for Holiday World, who appears to be announcing their single biggest investment ever on July 1st at 8:45 AM, and all signs point to a Mack rocking boat ride coming to Boulder Canyon in 2027. Then we pivot to the second half of the show — a full celebration of boardwalk parks and the beautiful, gritty, chaotic joy of beach amusement. It’s ICECO Month, and they brought in the right guy for it. David from ICECO says that after COVID changed everything. Like a lot of people, he went outside, went wheeling, and ended up pivoting his whole career around it. Now he’s working with a brand that started in OEM refrigeration — manufacturing the internals that go inside other companies’ products — before expanding into the outdoor and overlanding space. That OEM history matters because it’s where the technology comes from. ICECO runs SECOP compressors, which articulate up to 40 degrees without throwing an error — something Jimmy can personally relate to after loading a competitor’s fridge into his truck and watching it fault out. The conversation goes well past compressor specs. David and Tyler get into the framing that stuck with Jimmy most by the end: a fridge isn’t a recreational product that you also use at home — it’s a lifestyle tool that you bring with you. Jimmy’s been using a small fridge for grocery runs with his wife. She loads the car fridge first, doesn’t have to make the store her last stop, and comes home when she feels like it. That’s not overlanding. That’s just Tuesday. And it opened up a whole line of thinking about how the technology is circling back to everyday life after coming through the outdoor market. Jimmy and Tyler are back from very different weekends that somehow both ended the same way: hanging out with people you don’t see enough, doing stuff you love, and getting home before dark. Tyler took his toddler, Reid, out on the Rubicon for the first time, joining the Mad Hatters’ annual run at Loon. The trip came with an unexpected education: when you normally run sweep, you get out at every stop and help people. When you’re strapped to the car with a two-year-old, you’re sitting in the driver’s seat watching everyone else work for 15-minute stretches while your kid starts losing patience. By the time the group reached Spider Bowl around 10:30 am, Tyler pulled off at a campsite, radioed a goodbye, had lunch, and watched a Toyota pickup spend 30 minutes trying and failing to get up Super Bowl while Reid stood in the bed pointing at things and making everyone laugh. Two hours there, then out solo with Reid in the front seat, the air compressor cycling the rear locker, and Reid looking over every time to announce “dad tooting.” Home before 4 pm. Left at 5 am. Not a bad day. Jimmy left the assistant on her last day of school and drove up to dispersed camping near Bowman Road off Highway 20 — a trip organized around a group of high school friends he doesn’t see nearly enough, some of whom he hasn’t camped with in years. They came with trucks, a rooftop tent, a box of whiskey, handguns, a .22 rifle, Brandon’s breakfast burritos, and a set of homemade medallion awards for the weekend’s various competitions. The competitions included a shooting match (7 shooters, 10 rounds apiece at three stations — 210 shots hit paper across the board, which Jimmy found genuinely impressive), forest bocce (where bocce balls bounce off rocks and go 90 degrees), and a campfire tending category. Jimmy got fourth in the shooting competition, first in fire. He also got shot, sort of — a ricochet fragment hit one of the guys in the shoulder and another in the shin, both minor, first aid kits came out, everyone reevaluated, then they ran the formal shooting competition anyway. The guy who got hit (Michael — friend of a friend, first time meeting) turned out to be a serious whiskey person. Jimmy is also a serious whiskey person. Neither of them knew the other was bringing four bottles. They spent hours trading sips and talking. It was a great trip. They’re making it annual.
