Ronnie Bogle, a museum supervisor, finds out that his brother, Gary, uses his information to receive medical care across several states. Deborah Ford gets a call out of the blue one day by a bail bondsman stating that there is a warrant out for her arrest because she purchased nearly two thousand opioid prescription painkillers. Episode 2: Bad Habits “It's interesting how difficult it can be for me and for other people to give each other honest feedback.” - Hailey “Have somebody tell you something that you might not want to hear, but you're going to accept it.” - Ronnie   Welcome back to The Mind Games Podcast. Today's episode is about our negative behavior patterns. It's very common in this speed-living world to have bad habits and not notice it by ourselves. We know it's not easy to have knowledge of your bad habits: sometimes it involves bringing other people in, and finding ways to break them and turn them into something positive. Ronnie and Hailey will share today what you can do when you find yourself doing a bad habit, the difference between actual relaxation and distracting yourself.    Stay with us in this episode as we find out why asking your loved ones for feedback can be an amazing way to grow, discover how they see you from their perspective and use the things they think you could improve on yourself. Honesty is the key to breaking old habits.    If you are interested in a particular part of the episode, check out the notes with timestamps we included below.    Podcast Summary (00:35) - Why changing bad habits actually implies more work than you may think. (02:08) - On motivation: think about the pay off of your bad habit.  (03:43) - Getting smart around bad habits: the power of having your loved ones calling you out. (07:45) - How giving honest feedback is beneficial, rather than hurtful, to the people you care about (and yourself). (10:15) - How to get authentic feedback in a world filled with media.   Resources Feeling Good by David D. Wright State’s diversity, research and breadth of academic programs make the university an attractive place to lead, says presidential candidate Cheryl Schrader, chancellor of Missouri University of Science and Technology. “This is the right time to be at Wright State,” she said. “That is because it is an institution that has built up incredible momentum in the past decade and is just poised to move to that next level. That’s where I’ve been at my last three institutions, and I would like to be working together with the people at Wright State in order to do that here.” Schrader is one of three finalists for the Wright State job. The other candidates are Dennis Shields, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Plattville; and Deborah Ford, chancellor of University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Schrader met with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community leaders Feb. 8-9 in forums at the Dayton and Lake campuses. Schrader said her hallmarks are innovation, collaborative research and technology transfer, which are key to moving a university forward. And she said Wright State is well-positioned to expand its connections with nearby science, technology and agriculture-related industries. “In some sense, I felt the fit was right and the future is bright,” she said.

Wright State presidential candidate Deborah Ford says she is attracted to the university because of the diversity of its students and its mission to transform their lives and the communities it serves. And she says academics must be maintained as a priority. “You have a powerful mission,” said Ford, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. “…You have an enormously rich and diverse student body.” Ford is one of three finalists for the Wright State job. The other candidates are Dennis Shields, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Plattville; and Cheryl Schrader, chancellor of Missouri University of Science and Technology. Ford met with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community leaders Feb. 6-7 in forums at the Dayton and Lake campuses. She said she has a passion for higher education and student success. Her goal is to create the best possible learning environment that extends into the community and region. She described her leadership style as collaborative, team-building and engaging, with a focus on excellence and accountability. She said she sets a high bar for herself and those around her – that staff plays a critical role in the success of a university – and that integrity and trust are critically important. “I am going to tell the truth even if it’s bad news,” she said. “…I bring an authenticity. I am who I am.”
